Man, where are the overclock modules at? - myTouch 4G General

I can't believe this phone hasn't been overclocked yet. It seems like no one is working on it.

From my understanding don't we need the kernel source to be able to over clock.

Give it some time. The G2 it took them a while. After all the device has only been out for what 10 Days or so. Hopefully they will release the Kernel soon.

Unfortunately, the GPL is kind of gray when it comes to when source code has to be released. Manufacturer's usually release it in a matter of weeks, sometimes days to keep the open source community happy. However, there are times where they'll hold the code back for reason's unknown. Dell caught a lot of hell for this when holding back the source code for the streak, because it was specifically requested and they denied the request. With HTC, it looks like they waited about a month before releasing source code for the G2. I'd say that's a pretty good indication of when we'll see the MT4G source code.

Sense 3.0

just saw this on the xda news.... any dev looking at this?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/exclusive-htc-pyramid-photos/
I'm definitely a first day buyer. Regardless of what happens with AT&T, this phone is too good to pass up. Besides, we'll still get more than enough use out of it.
Now, it's either this or the G2X. I'm looking forward to this but I HOPE it comes out soon!
Oooooh....is the sense 3.0 going to maybe be open source or available in the sdk?

Sense is proprietary code and has never been open sourced.

The G2X looks very appealing, but the Pyramid has a couple of things that the G2X does not - more RAM, bigger screen, and a better display resolution. Most importantly, it's made by HTC.
I am, however, very happy to see that T-Mo has finally stepped up its game in terms of high-end handsets. Unfortunately, in light of the impending AT&T buyout, it may be a bit too late in the game.
This phone would be perfect for me to use on wind! Me wants!

The G2X is supposed to also have AT&T 3G/4G bands. This one and the Pyramid are potential paperweights.

ICS Confirmed for Early 2012

https://www.facebook.com/notes/htc/...pgrades-to-ice-cream-sandwi/10150518462703084
We are getting ICS early 2012
darn, that's so far away... :/
i hope the xda community will provide a working one earlier than that.
Thanks to the sense interface wich is mostly adapted by google in ICS HTC needs to rewrite everything and we are getting delayed updates.
Pretty bothersome actually
Good News! Hope that there is no delay this time!
due to Gargle releasing source in the next weeks we'll get to experience ICS AOSP goodness via CM9 before the official HTC update.
CM9 is going to take a while too to be released for Sensation even after AOSP gets the new source....maybe we get a build around Christmas?
Awesome! Thanks for posting Def will not root now.
very exciting for us Sensation users.
Before this probably will be some leaks with ICS

Yes, is it, but is not from htc with sense ui.
We have leak with Sense UI 3.5, and we will get leak with Sense UI on ICS. Do You understand now?

Why do people make excessively optimistic posts like this? We've had CM7 for roughly 2 months now and it's still in the alpha stage. If it takes them this long to build a ROM for the Sensation on a version of Android that was around for long before the Sensation came out, why would it be any quicker for them to build a ROM for the Sensation on a new version of Android?
Maybe because cm7 is not officially supported for sensation and cm9 might be?

CM7 will be official on the Sensation, but before it can be folded into the "Nightly Builds" it needs to get out of Alpha status.
Why would CM9 be quick? Because unless I missed something *huge* Google did not change how the drivers work, which are going to be the same (more or less) as they are in CM7.
So if CM7 works, CM9 won't take much to make work.
Simple.

Devs bringing ics?

If the sensation or any other HTC device with similar specs get some kind of ics, will the development port it? I'm planning on trading for this device from the sensation

Once source is released, how long do you guys think it would take to port? I am eagerly waiting!!
considering we still don't have stable aosp or cm7 i'd say quite a while
Android 4.0 source is being pushed to GIT, right now.
Hope it's not another Froyo debacle like with the MyTouch 3G and 3G Slide...

Its possible the devs just thought it was a waste of time with ics around the corner. We've got a powerhouse phone here, we will get our share of attention.

What happened to the kernels?

Source came out, and a few kernels got posted, but none worked correctly for US models, and with AOKP.
Does anyone know of one that's 1) compatible with AOKP and 2)works on US models?
The DEV for this device is definitely weak.
There is just too many devices around, which is getting ridiculous
I miss the N1 days
Relax, its still early in the phones life cycle. If its the same 6 months from now, you would be right.

The US version wasn't released by HTC as of two days ago, it's still a kernel but there are differences between EU and US versions and noticing that specific features don't work proves that we need to wait for the US kernel versions source to be available.

Best way to rid myself of sense?

I have a quick question-What is the best way to rid myself of sense completely? All of the roms I have seen are either sense or NFC Is not working. there may not be one yet but is there any rom with no sense at all and that still has nfc enabled?
Your up a creek without a paddle. You can't do what your looking to do without losing features. Until HTC or att gives us the kernel source, we have are all stuck.

Nfc is a hard nut to crack. I don't know if kernel source will help or not.

Not never...just not right now. We don't have kernel source so the devs are either flying blind or grounded depending on what's broken. I believe rohan almost has NFC working on AOKP, so I believe it's just a matter of time.
