What happened to the kernels? - HTC One S

Source came out, and a few kernels got posted, but none worked correctly for US models, and with AOKP.
Does anyone know of one that's 1) compatible with AOKP and 2)works on US models?

The DEV for this device is definitely weak.
There is just too many devices around, which is getting ridiculous
I miss the N1 days

Relax, its still early in the phones life cycle. If its the same 6 months from now, you would be right.

The US version wasn't released by HTC as of two days ago, it's still a kernel but there are differences between EU and US versions and noticing that specific features don't work proves that we need to wait for the US kernel versions source to be available.

How is there no alpha yet for the nexus s/nexus s 4g? It seems like everyone's getting it before us. The evo 4g just got it.

Uh wut? Nexus ICS alphas have been floating around for weeks.
The evo is always going to have more roms available at any given time, since there's a ton of devs working on that phone... And more options because of Sense.
First of all the things we have are sdk ports so they don't count. Second I would rather have a rom with half busted stuff than nothing like we do now. Wahh it sucks.

I don't think that someone has a decent working ICS right now.
But come on, don't start a ton of new threads just to aks why there's no ics. I know it's exciting but after all it's just ICS xD
And it's just a max. of 1 month waiting time 'till the ota gets out. I would go so far to say that no one of us will die from waiting
Max one month is a huge overstatement. It will be a miracle on xda street if we get an ota in a month. Mark my words.

We have been forgotten.

Is it me or does the Thunderbolt feel completely abandoned by developers?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
Yep no jellybean for us yet. JB makes ics seem as slow as am ibm pcjr. We should demand HTC give us JB instead of ics
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Developers need an ICS leak to make anything new, how many GB ROMs do you want? As far as the CM9 RIL has proved to be a huge problem. So no, developers still have Thunderbolts they just need something new to work with, instead of pointing fingers at them, point them at HTC.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
While it's not the fault of the dev's, we have been forgotten. The thunderbolt is unfortunately old news and most likely won't have much more activity until we get ICS/JB.
Its more like HTC doesn't give a crap about our phones anymore. It's unacceptable that they haven't put out an update sooner.
I'm still here!
Most phones were forgotten (or stagnated) on Verizon when the Nexus came out. Anyone who didn't see that coming was just a tad short-sided.

Dont blame only HTC. Verizon is also to blame... and VZW is historically known for not providing too many updates.
I dont expect any additional development until ICS is "officially" released for the TBolt.
I dont believe we'll ever see an official release of JB for our phones.
im building a rom off of cm7 now . RomZombie.

Bionic already has 4 ICS leaks...and blame HTC. Anyway, the Incredible S (GSM Dinc 2) got ICS today. Here's the thing - the Thunderbolt was replaced by the Rezound a long time ago, and it's honestly not that great of a phone anyway. It was the first LTE phone, but the specs were far behind other phones that came out before it. It will be nice when it finally does get ICS (and it will, but remember the 2.3.4 update took a very long time as well), but most people (like me) who bought this phone will have already moved on, or be well on their way to a better phone by the time it finally is released. As far as being forgotten by developers - not forgotten, but they have moved on to better phones. The Thunderbolt is old hat - 1Ghz Snapdragon w/ 768MB RAM, the developers have moved on to better things, for the most part.

That and point really at Google for.this messed up veal they allow which is so stupid. We need to stop overlays on android and have the same user experence as any other device a unified way. On touch six.you select wick widget it brings up any available wick if one is not already selected on sense and stock that does not happen. Not a great user way here.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Pretty sure specs weren't far behind anything when the tbolt came out. If you're this concerned sell it and buy a bionic. Go to craigslist, they are cheap.

As long as US phones have different processors, we'll never be able to use international mods or roms.

I think It's because of HTC. With all the different variant versions of one S all the different h boots. I dunno man I truly belive my next cell phone will be Samsung. I've always wanted to try it out but didn't like the phone design. The galaxy 3 and note 2 are the first Samsung phones that actually caught my eye. I guess we will see what's in the future line up. I had the HTC amaze and sensation. HTC failed the Amaze as well. Oh well.

I read this on a thread here somewhere, a guy had spoken to a friend who worked for HTC and he said that they would not be releasing ICS for the shift. Based on this, I think its pretty safe to say that HTC will not be rolling out a JB update, sad as it is. Your best bet is to root and flash a custom JB rom, several of which you can find over in the development forums

I was in my local BestBuy and surprised to see this phone still available for purchase. I would expect HTC to be planning an update to at least ICS since they are still selling these phones.
Gingerbread was good when this phone came out two years ago, but way out dated now to expect customers will be happy with it starting a new two year contract.

Yeah my HTC MyTouch 4G Slide is still on GB and will never see official ICS, but thanks to everyone on xda I've ported 3 JellyBean ROMS for it.
Since leaving the Shift I've moved from Sense to AOSP and wouldn't have it any other way.

Since offically, HTC says the our shifts have reached EOL, don't expect many updates from them at all. And besides, we actually have an amazing 4.x community on the shift. I mean, we aren't the SIII or anything, but there are a handful of ICS and JB roms. Pick one and flash it, then you could just act like the phone came that way
