Odin factory setting back - Captivate General

I am having problems with the phone (I cannot access apps store or the ext sd card) and only have Odin to work with. So, I want to flash a fresh original factory rom and then reflash the new rom. When do this, i am assuming the factory reflash erases EVERYTHING including voodoo lag fix and reinstalls the original factory rom. So, essentially it is reformatting the internal sd and then reinstalling a new copy. This is a correct assumption ?

Titanium backup not restoring properly

I flash roms like crazy. Never had a problem up until lately. No matter what rom I use the restore from titanium does not stick. If I update any apps from the market the updates do not stick. Any reason for this?
Quick update#1. Flashed completely back to stock and then rerooted. Still same result. any suggestions are appreciated.
Flash back to stock full wipe/ factory reset from there. wipe cache. re flash clockwork mod and restore... done.

[Q] I can't Wipe Old data

My cousin give me an I9003, cause he bought a new phone. I upgrade the rom to XXKPE and then to XXKPQ, wipe data/cache and everything works fine, but when I start the phone, old data still there, accounts, software, etc. So, I do it everything again with .pit (3x just in case). I do an adb wipe all, wipe data, but everything keeps in there laughing at me
I downgrade it with old roms, format internal sdcard with CWM, with standard recovery, I really don't know what more to do. Every help will be thankful.

I have the same problem. My friednd gave me an i9003. Wipe is not working at all, even from Recovery. I connect the phone to PC and use the internal card, no matter what I do, changes don't apply. I copy/paste/delete/format/even odin flash, no good. Everything comes back as before reboot. What is it related to?
I used to have an i9000, but nothing applies to i9003. I flashed i9000 1000 times and at last got a mmcblk2 error, fixed it with external sd swap. I'm thinking of swapping emmc with sd on this one too, but cant install a rom from CWM (I can install install CWM from ODIN though and can flash CFROOT too). In CWM internal storage can't be mounted... Motherboard problem?

Have you follow the procedure in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894737 or try other stock roms? I have no problem in erasing the old data.

[Q] Lost contacts

After my last flash of Beans13 ,I messed up my contacts import.can I factory reset without losing the rom?do I need to reflash the rom?
Have you tried wiping your caches. I would try that first also try deleting you google account and setting it up again. If those don't work I would just reflash the rom. I'm not sure but I think factory reset doesn't erase the rom but I would just reflash to be sure it works correctly. I hope this helps I am not very experienced but I flash a lot of roms. I just recently got the S3 so getting used to sammy phones.

Factory reset/cach/dalvic wipe is considered a dirty flash. You will not lose the rom but all apps. A clean flash requires formatting system. You will lose rom as it is in the system partition. You need to reflash rom to try to reimport or you can try going back through setup menu if there is a setup app in the drawer.

How ro remove encryption from Device

So I upgraded to new One Plus and decided to sell my S3, I looked and the advised way to delete your data is to encrypt your device and do factory reset. I have Liquid Smooth 2.10 custom rom on my S3, so I went ahead and encyprted my device and then did factory reset. But my data and encryption is still there. So I booted in recovery and did a full wipe, but I got an error saying it was not able to mount the internal SD card. Someone know how do I remove encryption now?

[Q] Upgrading While Rooted

So, I know that OTA will fail since I am rooted. I am on a Sprint S6 with OC9. I rooted using the T-Mobile Auto-Root.
I see that OCF was published for Odin to flash back to stock. My question revolves around the recommended procedure for flashing with stock. I use Titanium Backup. If I backup, then flash OCF, will this also erase all data on the phone to the point where I have to restore all backups and customize the phone all over again? There's just some things Titanium can't restore well. Or is there a way to update the ROM without wiping everything (dirty flash)?
Given the phone has built-in storage and no microSD, does the storage partition ever get wiped unless I do it manually?
Also, is there any sort of change log for the stock ROM versions? Or do they seem to be just modem updates at this point?
I don't know much about this phone yet since I just got it but coming from a nexus 5 flashing a ROM would keep your data but in this case since it is a system image you will probably lose everything in your storage
