I flash roms like crazy. Never had a problem up until lately. No matter what rom I use the restore from titanium does not stick. If I update any apps from the market the updates do not stick. Any reason for this?
Quick update#1. Flashed completely back to stock and then rerooted. Still same result. any suggestions are appreciated.
Flash back to stock full wipe/ factory reset from there. wipe cache. re flash clockwork mod and restore... done.

I have the nvflash recovery thing on my G2x and there is this very weird thing that happens that I was wondering if anyone else experienced.
The first time I flashed the CM7 I backed up the whole thing and restored and everything was fine. Then I did some stuff and backed up again except this time when I restore all my apps are gone and none of the widgets work so I restore the first backup again and everything is fine. Then I add all the stuff I added on stock and backup again. Then I restore the new one and the same thing happens but when I restore the first backup everything is fine.
Am I doing something wrong? Or has anyone experienced this before?
Are you performing a WIPE before you restore from the NANDROID Backup?
When ur backing up the rom u don't wipe anything rite? Just go into recovery and backup? Cuz ur not supposed to wipe anything just go in and backup
Yes, I am performing a wipe before I restore and no I'm not performing a wipe before the backup lol otherwise there would be nothing to backup
I have a updated g2x (gingerbread via Lg updater) installed NVflasher was able to boot into recovery performed a nandroid back up did a full wipe and was going to flash Xbroarders rom until i relized i put it on my internal instead of external so i then tried to flash my back up and got "no file found"did a reboot and all im getting is a black screen wit flashing keys. plz help
I have been running CM7 for over a week now and its a great rom. I want to try some of the updates, but I dont want to lose all my settings and apps. Can someone please tell me what is the most reliable way to flash newly compiled CM7 updates over an existing CM7 install, without losing settings and apps?

Make a nandroid backup in recovery in other words when in recovery got to back up and restore and press back up. this will back up all ur apps settings, etc. wipe factory settings,wipe cache, and davlik. flash update reboot. Once it reboots go back into recovery and go to back up and restore and restore apps. reboot system again.
Not sure if its the best way but has worked for me with zero issues
A quicker way is wipe cache/wipe davlik flash update I have done this 2-3 times with no issues
Just going by own previous experience here. the only time I had a problem was when I tryed to flash update gapps and restore all at the same time before rebooting
Hello If i download the latest version rom from asus and install it will I have everything installed the way it came from the factory?
I cant use factory restore now because I did not make a backup before I deleted some programs. will I then be able to do a factory restore from settings then backup and reset menu. and also will I still have root?

I went ahead and did it and it did reinstall every thing to stock. and you do lose root but I just rerooted.

I thought, I'd try to revert back to stock recovery and then flash twrp again.
Does anybody know how to do that without flashing an entire stock Rom?

Why you just flash TWRP again and start from begining?
Anyhow if you wish to reflash your stock recovery You need to reflash a stock boot.img

I had this problem and found out in my case, at least, it was because when I rooted, I didn't "format data" during the process. I've been told that if you don't format data during the process, you leave the data partition encrypted, and thus it can't be mounted (at least by non-system apps and processes). No guarantees here as always, but If you back everything up and redo the root process and do the data format, then you may be able to mount data. At that point you can restore your apps and info. I've also read (but haven't tried this!) that you can do a nandroid backup and restore ALL your data from that nandroid after you reset your phone (which the data format will do). You should google everything I have suggested and see if you can get what you need in this way, without having to reflash the ROM entirely or try to revert to stock recovery.

Hi. Yes, I had to format everything. Now it works. Also the issues I had with Titanium Backup are gone. I flashed the ExtSdFix and I'm almost running like on Kitkat, yeah
So I decided to flash some ROMS on my Alcatel 5045D but I wasn't completely happy with them so I decided to go back to the stock ROM.
Before flashing anything, I made a full backup of all the partitions via TWRP to be able to restore it.
So here is the problem: After restoring it, it works, but every time I restart the phone, all my settings and app permissions reset.
What I've already tried:
- Restore the backup again
- Wipe Caches
- Wipe Data, System and Caches and then restore the backup again
Is there any solution for this without flashing a downloaded stock ROM?

Maybe, but it might turn into a wild goose chase, it is simpler and easier to just flash the stock firmware file via your device's compatible flashtool and be done with the issue.
If you are worried about losing data, you can backup your data by other means than TWRP, then flash the stock firmware, then restore your data then reflash TWRP.
