Hey guys. I have the new XDAndroid 11/8 update and it seems to working great. I have had an issue that started before that update and it is pretty bad. Every time I make a call, it says dialing, the 3G logo disappears and then it says call ended and the 3G icon comes back. The whole time, the bars for my service are bouncing between none and full. It has the same problem with text messaging. Data seems to be working fine. I can get on the marketplace and get emails and such. It just started randomly and I don't know what may have caused it. Thanks for any help you can give.
I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 activated on Boost Mobile.
It does the same thing in Windows Mobile so maybe it's an issue with Boost Mobile or a hardware issue? I go to text or call and the service will bounce between full bars and none and sometimes it will switch to roaming mode.

can anyone help me with my htc touch issue? not sure where else to ask this
i recently started having issues with reception after having NO problems with the touch since it came out. i come home for the day and my phone shows the evdo icon, but people try to call me and my phone doesnt ring, but the caller goes straight to voicemail. then it goes to 1x and my calls/email sync are fine. in order to try and get around this i perform a soft reset. however, when the phone comes back up it goes back to evdo and tries to dial #777 and fails numerous times. i try to make phone calls for the first couple of minutes that the phone is on, and they immediately terminate before im able to connect. the phone then goes into 1x and i can get data and make phone calls.
it isnt necessarily a problem with evdo connectivity itself, as when im at work i can get phone calls and data with evdo.
i did a hard reset and the only thing i've installed is a touchpal keyboard, but the problem is still occurring.
i called sprint and did a prl update from my house, and the tech support person said im in an area where coverage shouldnt be an issue. even with the prl update, im still having a problem.
this is very frustrating because i am missing important calls from business contacts.
Both my brother and I bought Fuze's last week and he has recently been having trouble with his.
Unfortunately I live on the opposite coast so I can't troubleshoot his phone using the hands on approach and instead will try asking here
The Problem:
After working splendidly for the past week and a half, my brother has noticed within the last two days that he cannot send or receive calls regularly. When he is able to receive a call or make an outgoing connection his call quality is significantly distorted and garbled, often ending in a dropped call. Also when people place a call to him it is often the case that the phone doesn't even ring or show up in the call logs and he is only made aware of the call if someone leaves a voicemail.
I insist to him that this is not the phones fault and instead a service problem with the fault belonging all to ATT. I remember having the same problems with my 8525.
He is adamant to the fact that something must be wrong with his Fuze / Touch Pro. He says that when he pops his sim card into his old krazr (for which the Fuze is replacing) all the problems disappear. He also insists that he has full bars and 3g service at his location.
Background:
Via mymobiler and remote desktop, I added YouTube and Live Search back to the internet tab. I added a few cities to the Weather tab using the WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke and also reverted his phone to the original Black Touch Pro theme (found here) using Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7.
I also removed the forcecell connection registry entry to allow him to tether his phone.
I believe none of these tweaks would have caused his current problems and still believe the blame mostly falls on ATT's service.
Any advice, help, or comments into this matter would be greatly appreciated!
You could have him try flashing to a different radio just to test. They don't hard reset the device, and as long as you use another TP radio you don't need to be security unlocked.
If that doesn't work, flash back to the original radio and I would bring it in for service.

I suggest he reverts back to the original theme because whenever I change my theme I cannot make calls or receive calls but when I go back to the original theme calls work perfectly. Please let us know your result.
This is my second G2x and both have exhibited the same behavior. It will dial a number, whether from the phonebook or the dialer itself, and the phone application will say that it is dialing. After 30 seconds or so, and no ringing on the other end of the line, the call ends itself.
I usually have to enable Airplane mode, then disable it, to be able to make a call. sometimes I have to go as far as rebooting the phone completely after which it may or may not work. Incoming calls fail as well so I am missing quite a few calls and texts...but thhe emails and other data messages come through.
Oddly, data works perfectly regardless of whether the phone is having problems calling. This happens in 2g as well as 4g. I have manually selected 2g and could not call and had the same trouble in WCDMA only mode. I thought it was related to Wifi calling but enabling that has no effect.
Any ideas? I am trying my other line to see if that SIM card is having trouble. I just have no other ideas at this point.

I used to have this problem frequently on my MT3G. Since someone else is having this problem on a different phone, I would guess that it's something software related.
Alright, it is happening on both of my lines. It might be a program that I installed so I am loading them back on one at a time to see if can determine which it is. I am looking at either Google Voice or Beautiful Widgets as likely culprits at this time but there is not certainty. I have also avoided installing Facebook and Twitter. I am able to make calls right now. I will see if this keeps working for the next few hours...maybe through to my morning coffee. I really hope it is an application, something I can do without, because it would be pretty bad if it is the phone. My girl just ordered one of these as well since she likes mine so much.

Happened to me twice today, first in the AM and then again around 2200 central time. i recently started using setcpu so not sure if thats an issue or not. anyone find the app responsible?
Yes, it has happened to me too, usually after it is in standby or idle, and this is my second phone. But my second phone not happens as often as the first one. Reboot is the only way I can get it to work. I notice that the signal is very weak only 1 or 2 bars.
That is a very good point to mention...that it is almost always directly after bringing the phone out of standby. Mine just did it again.
Same problem here. I don't even know how many calls or txts I've missed since.
Had this issue with my N1 and I always chalked it up to cruddy radio and/or coverage. I've since had it on my g2x once or maybe twice I think (had g2x for 3 days now), but at least after it timed out I was able to try again and the call would go through. With my N1 it would never recover unless I toggled airplane mode or sometimes even needed to reboot.
I hope there are some improvements in this area, because bad radio was my biggest gripe with my N1, and i really want to love this phone!

Hey guys,
I have a Nexus 5 running 5.1 stock with an LTE connection in La Paz, Bolivia. Most of the time when I make a call or receive a call, the call is dropped. I have observed that as soon I make the call (with full reception bars) the LTE legend switches to E and then 20 to 30 seconds later, the reception bar dissapears and then the call is dropped.
I was hoping that with 5.1 update the issue will be resolved but nothing has happened.
I have contacted my carrier several times and my APN settings are correct and they haven't been able to troubleshoot the problem with the connection.
I would truly appreciate any ideas that you might have to solve this issue!
Ok, so after looking at several threads in Google Support for the Nexus 5, I tested a solution in which you booted the phone in Safemode and voila, my phone would not drop any calls and LTE would work just fine.
The problem is that Safe Mode does not allow loading anything but the core applications, so I can't use the apps that I have installed.
At this point, I think I have a software problem in which an app or a process drops the calls.
Do any of you have any ideas on how to diagnose which app or process is creating the problem?
Thank you

So I have a 2015 16gb/2gb Moto G running on the Three network in the UK.
My problem is a recurring voicemail notification that will just NOT go away.
The notification can be swiped away but returns after a reboot or every time the phone loses and regains mobile signal. It survives a hard reset. I have checked my voicemail, left myself new messages and deleted them - all to no avail.
The notification goes away if I kill the Phone Services system app but always comes back on a signal loss/regain.
Three Customer Service have tried de-activating/activiating my voicemail service - all to no avail.
Pretty much out of ideas now !
This is a carrier issue, the voicemail notification comes with an update signal from your carrier or a query of message status from the device, not the phone itself. When you reboot or lose signal and reconnect, the phone queries the VM service to see if there are messages waiting, if their are the notification is enabled.
Have you tried having someone leave you a real message, then listen to it and delete it? Other than that, you need to go back to Three, and if their customer service can't understand what is going on, call tech support or try moving up to a higher tier of tech support. This is clearly a carrier issue and not a device issue.

Did you come up with a solution? I have a similar problem. On a recent trip outside my carrier's area (AT&T) I received a voicemail just before take off. After arriving the area (outside AT&T) service, my phone still showed the VM icon. While out of town I managed all my AT&T voicemails via remote access. The VM icon remained because I never connected over an AT&T network. Now that I returned home, the voicemail is gone but the icon has remained in place. I have tried many of the methods you listed, but no luck.
Update: I killed all phone services, cleared cache & data. Problem resolved.
