UPDATE 3: OK, I am stumped. I have done everything I know to do and the recovery refuses to find the boot.img. Anyone got any suggestions???
UPDATE 2:
Still having problems. This time got failure at line 105. For some reason it couldn't find the boot image. I'll try again tomorrow...
UPDATE:
Just got home, got ClockworkMod, and tried flashing this ROM. Got a Failure at line 16. Then installation aborted. I will try to get this fixed and try it again. When it's working I will post a link. I should have this thing working sometime tonight. Hopefully, this will help out those who don't know how to or aren't comfortable removing stuff from the system file themselves. Once I get this working I will start working on ways to make it better.

Not true, i'm at work and it appeared on mine. I upgraded ROMManager about 3 hours ago just because I saw it. As soon as they said clockwork was available, i opened it up and went to flash recovery and the only option that popped up was the MT4G option. I'm on it now, just don't have any ROMs to install. I've run a backup already, i'm good to go.
***BTW, we don't have wifi available here and i'm on spotty 3G coverage in this area. I'm averaging about 500kbps dl speeds. it's horrible***
some people it works over the network but majority of people need wifi, including myself
I had to do it with WiFi and MT4G is there.

You are not bricked. Download another rom like the stock rooted. Go into the bootloader and click on recovery. Then wipe the card partition, data factory reset, and wipe dalvik. Then flash the new rom from your sd card. You should be ok.
to get to the bootloader turn off your phone by pulling the battery. Hold the vol button down and press the power button.
Many thanks. I was able to get into the bootloader and flash the stock rooted from the 1 click root.
I was only concerned because it wouldn't go to the bootloader at first. I'm sure it was operator error.

OK Guys and Gals, Here is what is going on with the radio issue. No Matter WHAT radio combos you may be using. As some of you may know by my earlier posts I live in a huge 4G network and never get anything, but 4G and (3G only for a min on boot) This is why I didn't have ANY issue's until I got curious and wanted to try something. On our tbolts, if you try to make a call while in 3G the 3G will drop out until the call is over. I went back to froyo, got pissed and went strait back to GB (doesn't matter what Rom as all the dev have clearly stated) when I did go back to GB things were tight as usual. worked like a charm. I used it as I normally would and everything was fine. upon a self induced restart, before my phone had a chance to obtain 4G (still in 3G) I decided to make a test call to see if the 3G would drop. It didn't. Quickly after I ended the call the phone booted in to bootloader. Thank God I had removed the GB RUU because I don't have a card reader to remove the RUU. I forgot to mention I do have the latest Rom Mgr and was able to get into recovery and simply reboot. After that reboot I would get to my home screen, but this time the 3G only would come up and then reboot. Time after time of rebooting I tried other things such as toggle radio to just grab 4G, then the phone rebooted again! upon the next full boot I quickly moved the original froyo radio strait to the sd card. And yet another reboot. This time I got a Rom Mgr error and noticed that Rom mgr was no longer flashed!!! I flashed it real quick because I knew another reboot was on its way. Rom mgr flashed and I told it to boot in to recovery. Thank **** I flashed Rom manager because if not I would be in continuous boots like the unfortunate others. Once in recovery I Realized that I had told my phone to go in to recovery via Rom mgr. and if I did a restore, the phone would have booted back up with my froyo rom but with the GB radio! so I told CWR to just reboot so I could tell the phone to go into recovery via the pwr restart option (thus not restarting after I flashed my froyo recovery) Once recovery of my froyo rom was complete I used ADB to reboot bootloader and SUCCESS! Bottom line you can not make a call while on 3G with any of the current GB radios, you gotta be quick, Make sure ROM mgr is actually flashed!!!! and hopefully can dump the froyo radio on to your SD card before an inevitable reboot happens! and have some ADB knowledge. I'm certain this is whats going on! People make a call while in 3G and its all down hill from there. So dont bother with telling radio settings to stick with one band. Once this happens, there is no turning back. Any questions PM me. I'm glad I tried this out before Vaca tomorrow with a FUBAR Tbolt
Hope this helps developers somehow. Good luck!
Also check a couple quotes from the development thread. Remember I'm going on vacation n won't be able to reply to many comments. Maybe just share your experience. Thank you

OK, first off ROM Manager and Clockwork Recovery are two different things.
ROM Manager is an app and Clockwork is your recovery.
If your phone is bricked you can't get into ROM Manager because the phone will not boot up. They can get into Clockwork for...oh I don't know, maybe 2 - 5 seconds and they the phone reboots again. Ask me how I know
A bootloop is NOT your phone bricking, if it was I would have bricked many, many phones in my time. If when you press power and volume down your phones brings up the bootloader. If you select recovery and your phone brings up your recovery screen without bootlooping you are fine.
refresh my memory, my poor old brain is on overload from all the brick posts....
Aren't the "bricked" phones also unable to stay in hboot for more than a few seconds without rebooting? If so, then what the OP is stating is NOT the same thing others reported because he states he could reflash the radio, suggesting a stable hboot/bootloader.
Seems like if you've got a stable hboot, you're not truy bricked, as the first post here shows....

Your phone will still reboot without a recovery. There was an issue awhile back when I had my OG Droid with ROM Manager wiping out recovery. People would try to boot into recovery to fix something and oops no recovery.
You can flash a recovery image via adb.

yeah, that was annoying. Believe that's when they told everyone to check the "erase recovery" option in the Rom Manager settings and that seemed to help.

Really funny thing was that was going on right when the Froyo leak came out for the OG Droid and the first ROM I flashed I hated. So when I went to flash my nan-droid there was no recovery and I did not know about the issue so I ended up sbf'ing back to stock and rerooting again.
I have seen a bootloop on a phone that was not running GB or rooted. A guy I work with brought me his phone a few weeks ago and wanted me to let him use my battery to boot his phone. When I put my battery in and saw what it was doing i booted it into Hboot (of course S-on) so I couldn't do much for him. Of course the Verizon Tech's weren't much help to him either, but they did send him a CLN Device. You can pass this along to jcase as I don't have enough posts to be able to post in the DEV forum yet. I read and rarely post unless I believe I have something useful to add.
This is a re-post from Krylon360 @ his new site

so did you get any luck with that rom?
how come when unzipping it the file name is kf1?
outgoing call log works thank god and wifi bars are strong a little diffrent than the first release
This is great news. Means that they are actively working on 2.3 and that the KF1 leak wasn't just an isolated thing.
Will flashing this (without the .pit) cause a data wipe? Anyway to load this up without losing data?
This isn't rooted and there's no super simple way to root it, right?

Ok. So which one of you is correct?
And what good is a backup without root ability to restore the backup?
Last time I asked about the wipe, a couple of people confidently said that using ODIN ALWAYS wipes data. I am pretty sure that I upgraded to the current stock ROM using ODIN without a wipe, plus have updated my Vibrant a few times via ODIN without a wipe.
So what's really correct here?

hi all, i am a novice at all this stuff, and i am sorry for posting probably a similar thread to what others may have said but my problem is a little different. i am having a problem with my wifes att network htc inspire 4g. i rooted it last year with the ace hack kit. the problem is that it is stuck in ace hack kit clock work recovery. it will not start up at all unless it is attched to the computer, and thats when it will go to cw recovery. it will vibrate 3 times and blink a red led and the screen goes blank unless i press the volume down button but it doesnt stay lit up only when i hit the vol down button. then when i hit an option by hitting the power button the phone resets to cw recovery again. if i try to acess hboot, it vibrates 5 times and lights up yellow. i have tried wiping, formatting, and everything but reboot to cw recovery again. from the posts that i have read similar to this problem, everyone says to get another rom and flash from hboot. being that i cant get to hboot any other ideas.

If you wiped and formatted, then you've probably erased whatever ROM you did have. At this point I'd probably use the ACE Hack Kit again, using the option to return everything to stock.... then use it again to re-root the phone. Then I'd install 4ext Recovery instead of CW. Then use 4ext to flash another ROM. I'd recommend Ice Cold Sandwich, found in the DHD development forum.

Somehow I downloaded the CM7 ROM in the SGS 4G section, I have flashed it and now everytime I click "reboot system now", it's just putting me back to CWM Recovery over and over again. Now I got tired of it, so I tried flashing the SlimBean in hopes of making my device work the way they should, but it's the same result. When I cleared data, flashed the ROM and Gapps and when I click "reboot system now", It shows the boot screen but then it transferred me back to recovery. I don't really know what to do.
Urgent help needed. Thank you all.
can you acess into download mode?

Yes I can, also tried it with CM9, same results it shows recovery everytime. I need some help. :crying:
You say you went from Eclair (Did this phone even come with that? I thought it started with Froyo. Huh. At least, mine did.) to Gingerbread. Is the Gingerbread you started with CM7, or did you start with one that actually has normal GB bootloaders first? Because if you haven't yet, as with any major bootlooping issue, you'll want to use a proper GB one-click. If you failed to double-flash one of those to get the GB bootloaders earlier, do that ASAP. And hope hard that they come.
You are missing the boot loader if you went straight to Gingerbread. Use Heimdall One Click to flash to Gingerbread. Also click on the bootloader option as well when you flash.

Can you give me the names of the GB one-click?
Search for lumin30. He has an awesome guide and links to what you are looking for. It's in his signature.
I'll add, back up your .efs folder. Put copy on your computer.

Can anyone tell me this guide works on starting from a CM7 Rom. I don't get it at all. Since it started from Stock Froyo.
