In titanium it says:
Internal: 1.20 GB (911 free)
In my phone settings, it says:
870 mb available space
Why the discrepancy?
Yeah good question. I have 1.21 (1.00 free) in Titanium
and then going thru settings it shows .94 free

Hi
I was surprised to see the following figures on my Pola200
Storage Memory:
Total: 119.17 MB
In Use: 30.39 MB
Free: 88.78
Program Memory:
Total: 100.77 MB
In Use: 41.17 MB
Free: 59.60 MB
These figures seem *very* low for a 256/128MB device
are they similar for the POLA100? or is this the cruddy O2 ROM I have that I am about to ditch?
Yours
Leon
These values seems to be ok. I have the same values on startup with the old orginal firmware.
I use Bebe´s Rom and have much more memory.

Hi,
After installing official ICS Rom from RUU I just have about 33 MB Free (of 575 total MB) on my /system partition...Is it the same for you???
It seems to me that with stock GB rom there was lot of more Free space...

Do you mean Internal storage? Or RAM?
My DS with GB 2.3.5:
Internal storage:
454MB used / 702MB free
Total 1156 MB
RAM:
246MB used / 281MB free
Total 527 MB
Don't know where is the remaning RAM (it should be total 768 MB of RAM)
i got 698MB free space on internal storage,218MB free RAM after installed official ICS rom and some apps.
Neither RAM (which is tot 768 MB) nor /data storage partition (which is about tot 1200 MB, where system install user data and applications)...
I intended /system partition (which is a storage of about 575 MB tot, where is installed the rom with all system apps).
You can see it via recovery or installing software like titanium backup or similar....

OK, sure, the new update (with ICS and Sense3.6) should be larger (bigger) in size than the old one (GB, Sense 3.0).
And in any case, this will not affect your system usage and performance, because the system itself and the user cannot use this free space to install app etc...
Hello there.
So i rooted my ZTE-BLADE ( Modified with 5MP camera and etc)
With Z4Root. I'm not rooting it permanently because when i try it does restart my droid and nothing happens.
So here's the question.
Now with some apps and launchers my internal phone space about 40 mb.
And i used Root explorer to find if i can delete anything there.
So i found that my root uses 146 MB out of 220 Total.
So why my droid does not use all that memory?
Is there any way using that memory for my apps?
Edit: So my internal free space was 38.4 MB, so i deleted KAYAK app from my Root/System/App because i don't need that silly app. It's in my root because of my phone provider. Phone was full of **** before. So that app took 4.38 MB. I deleted that app and BAM according to my phone settings my internal space is still 38,4 MB.
Have you tried to do a factory reset?

No i didn't.
Should that take that unused root memory and add to my normal internal memory?

install CWM recovery and re-partition then factory reset
I'm currently running SlimBean 4.3.1 build 2.2 final on a Nexus S (i9023).
I got the "Insufficient storage available" message when I tried to update or install a new app from the Play store.
I've tried to install Link2SD and set "Install Location : Automatic", but same message.
Maybe I should reinstall the ROM, install Link2SD and then download and reinstall my apps ?
Any idea ?
try to freeze some apps and move almost app to sd
this may help you

Do you still have memory available? Check it in your settings (apps or storage)
I've got this problem too with my old HTC desire HD with Stock Rom, I got i fixed by re-flashing the Same rom or Flashing a new one.
Thank you for your help.
I reflashed the ROM few days ago, reinstall most of my apps, restore some others with Titanium Backup and use Link2SD to move all of them to the SD card.
Today, I have the same message: "Insufficient storage available" when I try to update an app from the Play Store.
Here are my Link2SD Storage Info :
Internal: 64% Free - Used: 357MB - Free: 651MB
SD Card: 37% Free - Used: 8.26GB - Free: 5.05GB
SD Card 2nd Part. : not found
System: 54% Free - Used: 231MB - Free: 273MB
Cache: 99% Free - Used: 3.03MB - Free: 466MB
In SlimBean ROM, for instance, Gmail is a system app, I tried to clean the cache of this app, but still the same error message...

yeah... yesterday I also faced the same situation.your internal mem free space would be low.even if you use link2sd your apps datas would be still there in internal memory.
when i searched my device I saw an app with 450 mb of data , so I removed it and tried update of my apps. bingo!!! everything is working fine.....
all the best...

Problem solved. I removed one app and now everything is working fine. But I still don't understand why the low memory free space status isn't reflected is the storage settings.
Thanks.
After few weeks, the issue just came back.
I removed some apps but still have the same issue... So I flashed a new ROM (latest kitkat C-Rom)
its a strange issue and one of my friends got the same issue on his S2 with a stock rom,
still having about 200MB of free memory for apps, he couldnt update any app that was larger than ~40MB.
I dunno the whole logic behind hat. Even if it needs space to download it (1.), unpack it (2.) and replace the existing (3.), one should still have about 80MB left (200-(3x40))...
*Removed all bloatware
*Only 57 MB of apps (Internal Storage with 9MB available)
*Can't install from Playstore (but can restore apps from Titanium Backup)
*No custom ROM
What can I do? Is it possible to import apk to Tiitanium Backup for installation?
Hi
Welcome to XDA Assist
Please answer this questions.
What phone are you using ?
What OS is it running ?
If the internal storage is 9MB free then it's too low for ICS+ OS.
Google play uses /data or "App storage to download apps on ICS+. Atleast 100 MB free space is required for successful download and install.
Pre ICS firmwares use /cache to install apps. so you will require to clean cache to download the apps.
Have a good day !
