*Removed all bloatware
*Only 57 MB of apps (Internal Storage with 9MB available)
*Can't install from Playstore (but can restore apps from Titanium Backup)
*No custom ROM
What can I do? Is it possible to import apk to Tiitanium Backup for installation?
Hi
Welcome to XDA Assist
Please answer this questions.
What phone are you using ?
What OS is it running ?
If the internal storage is 9MB free then it's too low for ICS+ OS.
Google play uses /data or "App storage to download apps on ICS+. Atleast 100 MB free space is required for successful download and install.
Pre ICS firmwares use /cache to install apps. so you will require to clean cache to download the apps.
Have a good day !

Hi,
I have a problem with data space.
Therefore I removed those aplications from system folder :
Swype.apk (11 MB) - for czech and many other user useless because of absence their language support
Layar.apk (5MB) ? - useless too - I do not wanna anyone know where I am located
Samsung Apps.apk (5 MB ?) - useless because Samsung GAY policy
Thinkdroid.apk ( 5 MB) ? - I never used , but I wanna install it on sdcard - weird after remove from system, it was not possible to install it - phone rebooted
Ive expected I will have more free space for aplications, but I have not
So I have now :
System : 182.99 MB used, 27.64 MB free
Data : 188.86 MB used , 5.29 MB free
Cache : 792 KB used 32.03 MB free
My goal is ofcourse to have as much as MB free at DATA folder / partition
Is there any EASY way how to make it happen without data loss and most important - without PHONE BRICK ?
so some partition manager ?
I tried already some trick to have 2 partitions on SD and ofcourse, it does not work - it take only 1 or more hours to get 30+ GBs of music, maps etc back to SD
I am not sure if this works for example at Kyrillos 7.0 , but if I have to download something over DATA connection and cant use wi-fi , then this solution is unacceptable
Of course my goal is to have unchanged aplications and their data + I5800XXJPS
My dream is Android 2.3.4 , but I will wait till FM RADIO and other non working stuff will be solved
I found this http://android.modaco.com/topic/331205-guide-how-to-get-more-free-space-for-your-apps/
but it looks too hard and I need more like 128/136 MB for system partition
I am using APP 2 SD Pro and Move2SD Enabler set to EXTERNAL
for example install ANGRY BIRDS is impossible even I have 200 MB free at my 32 GB SDCARD
thanks for your help
Bro, wrong section.
And you have a 32 GB SD card. Then make a 1 GB ext4 partition. Rest 31 GBs you use for songs and all. Kyrillos has apps2sd v2 enabled. Only /data/data/ remains in internal memory. If you don t want that to also, then you can use app2sd v3. It works. All apps that you install will goto ext4 partition of SD.
It may be possible but there is an easier way. If you are low on space for apps, that means that data partition is full, you on the other hand, you deleted apps from system partition so you have more space there. So... go to data/app and move some of your instaled apps from there to system/app. Be sure to leave some free space on system partition, especially if you are going to change themes, then leave 10mb free.
thanks

Atrix 2 4.04 Rooted System ROM too FULL! What do I delete?
Forgive me XDA'ers. I'm getting older & I forget what I've learned here at XDA. It's been close to 2 years that I had my Droid X2, rooted it.
Haven't played with other phones.
So finally got an Atrix 2 & rooted it. Thank God found Boot Menu Manager here because ROM Manager wasn't working.
Anyways in Titanium Backup Pro says:
System ROM: 500 MB (7.16 MB free)
Having only 7.16 MB free concerns me greatly. What do I do to gain space? Ideally I like 20% or more free space.
Have 21 GB free on the 32 GB SD card & 4.31 GB free on the 4.88 GB Internal.
Have all the goodies installed afaik (emulator, Root Explorer etc). If you need more info or in another form let me know. Thank you kindly.
Afaik.. System partition only for system stuff.. I think its normal to have that much free space.. All other applications install in future will go to data partition.. Which is 4.31 or ur internal.. XD
This should be asked in Q&A section and not in dev section.
And to answer it, stock ROMs are full of bloatware which leaves you with least amount of space left on system folder.
So if you want more space, you can either delete unwanted system apps ( proceed with caution or you might delete a necessary file for the phone) or flash a custom ROM. I get around 100mb free space on my system with carbon ROM.
So is it ok to have minimal space left or am I just inviting trouble?

No problem at all. It doesn't matter how much of space you Have on System folder. If you wanna make an app as system app by manually moving it to system/app with permissions or if you're gonna flash a zip to add a system app, you'll need more space on system of course. All the downloaded user apps will be in /data. It is no way related to /system.
Thank you so much. I was concerned.
And thanks to the mod who moved this thread appropriately. Sorry about that.
I'm currently running SlimBean 4.3.1 build 2.2 final on a Nexus S (i9023).
I got the "Insufficient storage available" message when I tried to update or install a new app from the Play store.
I've tried to install Link2SD and set "Install Location : Automatic", but same message.
Maybe I should reinstall the ROM, install Link2SD and then download and reinstall my apps ?
Any idea ?
try to freeze some apps and move almost app to sd
this may help you

Do you still have memory available? Check it in your settings (apps or storage)
I've got this problem too with my old HTC desire HD with Stock Rom, I got i fixed by re-flashing the Same rom or Flashing a new one.
Thank you for your help.
I reflashed the ROM few days ago, reinstall most of my apps, restore some others with Titanium Backup and use Link2SD to move all of them to the SD card.
Today, I have the same message: "Insufficient storage available" when I try to update an app from the Play Store.
Here are my Link2SD Storage Info :
Internal: 64% Free - Used: 357MB - Free: 651MB
SD Card: 37% Free - Used: 8.26GB - Free: 5.05GB
SD Card 2nd Part. : not found
System: 54% Free - Used: 231MB - Free: 273MB
Cache: 99% Free - Used: 3.03MB - Free: 466MB
In SlimBean ROM, for instance, Gmail is a system app, I tried to clean the cache of this app, but still the same error message...

yeah... yesterday I also faced the same situation.your internal mem free space would be low.even if you use link2sd your apps datas would be still there in internal memory.
when i searched my device I saw an app with 450 mb of data , so I removed it and tried update of my apps. bingo!!! everything is working fine.....
all the best...

Problem solved. I removed one app and now everything is working fine. But I still don't understand why the low memory free space status isn't reflected is the storage settings.
Thanks.
After few weeks, the issue just came back.
I removed some apps but still have the same issue... So I flashed a new ROM (latest kitkat C-Rom)
its a strange issue and one of my friends got the same issue on his S2 with a stock rom,
still having about 200MB of free memory for apps, he couldnt update any app that was larger than ~40MB.
I dunno the whole logic behind hat. Even if it needs space to download it (1.), unpack it (2.) and replace the existing (3.), one should still have about 80MB left (200-(3x40))...
I am frustrated by the "out of space" and "insufficient space on device" error I keep getting while trying to install/update new or old apps via Play Store or manually installing apks.
I am using an LG G Pro 2, running on kitkat. I have enough free internal storage (a little over 3 GB), and over 40 gb of free space on my external SD card. I am using foldermount to link app data to external memory.
I can however install apps when I copy their APKs to system/app and change permissions to rw-r--r--
I can't upload a screenshot because I am a noob but I think the graph is not justifying the data below it.
I have tried :
Deleting Odex files
Uninstalling updates for Google services
Deleting app cache and dalvik cache
Uninstalling a lot of apps to create space
I have seen so many people have this problem with android but most of them had luck with the aforementioned solutions. I hope the Xda community will be able to help me. Thanks in advance.

Use Total Commander (just 1MB) to check how much space is on /system left.
Like the title says I can't write anything new into my rooted N5's system where it says system is out of space or something like that... I can copy files of KB sizes but not MBs... I have V4A libs and SuperSU in the system and now been trying to put in avast antitheft which is not working... This also happened when I tried to install xposed... BTW mine is stock lmy48i rooted with elemental x... Please help! Now I had to delete Google books just to install the antitheft!
Have you tried a factory reset? Note that you'll lose data, so if you have stuff on the phone back up first.
I'm not guaranteeing that it will work, but as a last resort...?
That's because Lollipop is so big. On a stock ROM with root and busybox installed, you should only have approximately 2MB of free space. That's it.

Install Root
Install Link2SD https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD
Open Link2SD and select System apps view. Choose any app you won't use anymore. Select it and convert it to "user app". The application will be moved from the system partition into user space. Now you have some memory free.
