Hello everybody,
I've got a problem with installing maps on the xda Orbit 2 device.
I have a default UK and Ireland maps on it, but I'm from Balkan and want to using Balkan maps or Central European maps.
I tried to intstall maps like most users suggest by posting the link (in pdf). But I didn't succeed with it.
So please help me, how to install other map region on the device.
Thanks
Luke
Does anyone know how to do that?
you get a copilot central disk with the orbit 2. you need to purchase the map via this app.
Have you purchased the maps you want?
Download the latest version of Google maps, no longer need to carry printed map.

Excellent !
Thank you!
Sometimes it seems some members here don't understand the basics of the Market: NOT ALL APPS are available in ALL countries.
So, please, don't send a link to the Android Market, it is USELESS.
We've already tried there!
nevermind everything is fixed...
hey, how to unlock navigation in other countries?
Thanks for the file...

5.2.1 pretty please if you can, has some routing issues fixed
APK 5.2.1
Yeah can someone put the 5.2.1 on here.
My market refuses to download or install Gmaps, Only when I use an APK install it works, but then it won't update via the market (the download keeps failing or not even starting)
Weird issue though since I did a full wipe after a new rom install (HTC Desire GSM, Cyanogen Nightly Build 15, s-off with Alpharev). All other google apps install just fine.
The APK should resolve this untill the next update probably :-((
The only thing I didn't try yet is a Dalvik wipe before the rom install or gapps, should I?
Any clues about how to fix this or a link to the 5.2.1. HDPI version?
Cheers
Google maps v5.2.1
Here are the attachments for Google maps, Street and My tracks. Have fun.
I'm new on TF,have a question to ask;
Can I install Brut [ Google Maps 4.6.0.4686-brut17 ] or [ Ownhere Google Maps ] into TF? Will it work with [HoneyComb]? Because I need the navigation outside US.

Checkout locus free, it allows you to download maps from different sources on wifi to use while there is no coverage.

I just installed Locus... looks pretty nice. Seems a bit complicated, but I think I figured out how to get it to download what I wanted.
The developer also uses 'state' in place of 'country'... so I couldn't easily just select maps for Texas, for instance... I'd have to select a box around it.
I'm on the free version now, because I want to play with it a bit. I may be doing a quick road trip up to Arkansas with a friend, then down through Louisiana and back home. Having an offline map software available will be pretty nice.
Thanks for the info, will try it out.
Same question as the OP: has anybody tried Brut Google Maps on the TF? The alternative nav apps don't come near Google Maps when it comes to coverage of less-travelled areas.
I just did a stock install for 2.1, and for the life of me I can't find google maps in the market. Then I went to the online webstore and it says google maps is not compatible with the XT720. Anyone know whats up? Thanks!
It's weird because I'm running on 2.1 stock rom right now and I have google maps (5.8).
You say you didn't find google maps on android market but did you change the filter in the settings ?

Thanks, I solved the problem. It wasn't the filter apparently google maps wasnt available for my country because of the 3D maps update which is really stupid. I used market enabler and got both google maps and the newest google plus.
I just wanted to know is it possible to make the brut navigation use the original google maps instead of the brut-google maps? I'm asking this because the brut version of google maps is old and the "Make available offline" feature of google maps which downloads the selected area in the map and stores it in the sd card is not available.
"Brut navigation" is a hack in Google Maps APK.
Obviously, you can't use the hack if you're installing a whole different, regular Google Maps APK. The hack isn't there, and there's nothing to use.
