You have to press power and volume down, not up

LOL, that was happenning to me recently (sometime yasterday). I thought that was it, the end of my Inspire, and I did VOL UP+POWER , I even trying to hook up to pc and redo the rooting, wouldn't work at on. Then google is my best friend , VOL DOWN+POWER got me back to Recovery mode, I will remember for the rest of my Android phone's life
that takes me into regular recovery not clockworkmod
Do you see an option that says Recovery after you get into hboot?

Also, make sure you don't have a PD98IMG file on the root of your SD card or it will always try to install that and not let you select recovery from the options. ( this happened to me multiple times before I realized what was going on.)

[Q] Im stuck In Recovery mode

Im stuck in recovery mode in clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 im at the main screen and i cant select power off or restart idk how to turn off my phone will taking my battery brick it?
Did you complete all the steps for flashing whatever it is you were flashing? If so then just yank the battery, I had it become non-responsive once and only once. I just pulled the battery. You could try holding volume up + power button also, not sure of it'll work in recovery though.

i was flashing clockworkmod onto my phone then got to the menu and after a bit the menu became unresponsive
edit im good now

booting into recovery

Why is there not an easier way? If you're stuck in a boot loop you would basically be screwed..
Other phones I've owned there was always a way, like hold volume up and power button. Am I just being a noob or is the only way through ROM manager?
Ummm..hold volume up+down while powering on. Release power button when the phone vibrates (continue holding volume up+down)
Where in the world did you get the impression rom manager was the only way

Hold volume up and volume down thn. press power and let go of power while still holding the volume keys. There is an easy way thats it. What made u think there was not?
It doesn't seem to work for me.. It takes me to Odin target mode..
I'm using a Canadian Rogers version btw
I installed cwm a second time through room manager and it seemed to work now.
Thanks guys.

[Q][Help]Flash Rom using computer.

Well I have a problem. My SNS's power button broke as if its getting pressed down all the time (powers on when i put in battery). Anyway I thought it might be a software problem so i was going to install a CM9 rom just seeing what that would do. I load up ClockworkMod via rom manager and use the search button instead of the broken power button and do a complete wipe of eveything. Once i was done and was going to install CM9 Clockworkmod said something like "search button disabled" so i couldn't select anything. Anyway I thought if I Remove the batttery and put it back in would be a good idea and then load up Clockworkmod and flash CM9.... but it wasnt. I forgot my power button is broken so i cant do anything at the Fastboot screen, I cant even use the Volume Buttons. So my next choice was use the Android SDK and hopefully flash a rom with adb. Sadly that wont work becuase my coputer will not recognise my phone at all. so im stumped on a phone stuck on either google screen or a frozen fastboot. Any ideas?
Take phone apart and try to free up the power button?

The button isnt stuck. Its broken. It still clicks when i press it down but the phone recognises it as always pressed down. And taking it apart is pretty darn complicated because I need to take the screen off aswell.

[Q] Soft brick problems

ok my blaze was rooted running a 4.3 rom (dirty unicorns) i was playing a game and all of a sudden it booted off, it booted back up and the samsung logo appears it goes black and vibrates. So i decided to revert back to stock and once i go to download mode menu and once i select to enter download mode it randomly reboots to the samsung logo and then it starts to vibrates again, i cant even get into recovery, what do i do, is it hard bricked?

If it just froze and rebooted the recovery should be fine.
Pull the battery for a minute. Insert it, then hold both volumes down together (the whole rocker), then hold the power button until it vibrates then release the power button. Continue to hold the volumes until the recovery is up. Restore a backup or do a clean reflash.

Exactly, all i need is download mode but when i enter it it vibrate loops after a press volume up.
when i enter download mode i see a blue screen then it boots and vibrates, why is it doing that
When the screen turns blue, does it start off black, and then start becoming pixelated and end up blue? Or does it just turn blue immediately? I had the same issue where I bricked my phone while I was using 4.3, and tried reverting back to stock... Sometimes, you cannot get into download mode if the phone is plugged in or not plugged in... Try both ways to see if you get any different results! Also try removing the battery for 30 seconds and then putting it back in... When you go back to stock, make sure it is ICS and not GB! You only get stuck in a boot loop if you do GB!

Hard brick won't boot at all. Even though it's not booting properly it still boots which means there is hope. Try going in to download mode plugged into USB with the battery pulled. If it works Odin back to stock. If you get stuck in a boot loop after flashing stock, don't panic. Just boot to recovery and wipe your cache's and reboot. Let us know if you need anything or resolve the issue.
