Wifi connecting but not working on Driod Incredible.

Since I rooted my phone using Unrevoked, applied UnrevokedForever, and updated my phone with an RUU
I cannot get my wifi connections to work. They connect to the router just fine, require my encryption passwords, obtain an IP address but if I connect to them it is as if I am getting no data whatsoever. If I try to connect to the marketplace, it gives me a network error.
As soon as I disable wifi, my data connections work, so my 3G connection is fine. I can turn on wifi tethering and it works fine too. I followed the directions from the following thread (I cannot paste a url without permission):
"OTA 2.2 Update With Root Made Easy"
What would cause this to happen? Does anyone have any idea of how to try and fix it? I've searched and searched, and I cannot find the answer. I admit that I'm a noob, but I have been reading a lot on these forums, and I'm wondering if it had to do with the radio flash, which scares the hell out of me.

[Q] WiFi does not work on Motorola Defy with Cyanogenmod 7 (android 2.3.4)

Hi Guys. You are the only hope for me to resolve the problem with WiFi on my device.
So the situation is: I received Motorola Defy with Android 2.2.2 on board not from a shop. This device was already hacked a little (root, localization etc..)
So I decided to flash CM 7 on it
I did everything as described in instruction. But after I have flashed this device I found that WiFi does not work. It began to work after flashing for a small period but then it stopped working
Device successfully connects to wifi, receives IP address but no application can connect to Internet. I tried to install some WiFi programs to try to resolve this problem, tried to switch wifi mode on my router (WPA2 AES/TKIP, WEP, no security at all) that did not help
Even pinging my router gives me "request timed out"
I wonder can I somehow investigate deeper into this problem to find solution for my problem? Or this bug cannot be resolved?
No any suggestions?
I would suppose that posting at the CM7 post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033654 would be more useful.
Some people say that they have wifi problems

Ah yes...
Anyway wifi is a known issue. Doubt posting would do you much good though.
I suppose it is just best for you to wait for it to be fixed. =(
What's your phones MAC addres? It's there in WiFi settongs somewhere chances are its not a real MAC addy and your router doesn't like it, I thought that issue had been resolved just try a different Rom
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
No
I do not think that my router blocks my phone by mac address as if I use froyo 2.2.2 wifi works perect.
BTW if i use CM7 wifi also ok. I mean connection to my router. Phone receives ip address and this is OK. But internet connection is available only several minutes after flashing the phone. Then I cannot even ping anything from my android terminal
Exactly,
I have wifi issue on my latest 7.2 nightly build, too.
So, it looks like, phone wants to connect to saved connections (wifi status is connecting), but there should be status "searching", and stays on status Disconnected. Pushing Search button, do nothing.
When I delete few saved connections, wifi could do "search", and after that, i can connect!.
I think, there is critical numer of saved connections, when it is riched, then wifi can't do search, and connect to any host.
Try Airplane mode
Hi. For me going to airplane brought wi-fi back to life, and it stayed alive after turning all radios back on. Hope it works for you.
Check you WepKey, It is often that

One S on Orange - Wifi issues after 4.0.4 update

So wifes phone got the update a few days ago, since then the phone struggles to connect to the home wifi, was fine before the update. Once connected it's fine but if you go out and come back you either need to bounce the router or the phone to get it to connect. Anyone seen anything similar?
Mine came back from HTC repair last week to cure the home button bug. They have upgraded the firmware to 404 and since then, connection to my router is ok, but I have a Huawei ws320 repeater for use in the bedroom, and the phone can only hold a connection to that for about a minute before it drops. The connection status is "obtaining IP address" which it never seems to do. Wasn't a problem on 4.0.3. Another problem for me since the update is dropping connection to my Bluetooth car hands free...
Sorry I can't solve your problem but if anybody out there has any guesses....!
also having the same problem after 4.0.4. update
i am also having this issue, befor the update wifi at home worked just fine and after update it just says obtaining ip adress this phone has had so many issues im starting to think it was a bad idea. please if anyone has any info tell me. thanx in advance

Strange Problem with Wi-Fi

Hi guys,
Since a few days I have started facing a strange problem with my OnePlus. As soon as I connect to my home wi-fi the whole network slows down. The latency also goes for a toss. Packets start getting lost. I checked this extensively by monitoring packets and network on my laptop. What kind of problem is this? Can anyone help me with resolving this?
Regards.

Which ROM are you using?
I'm on CM12S
Please have a look at my thread at OnePlus forums where I have mentioned what all troubleshooting I have done.

Did you try to connect by selecting the static IP and giving the IP manually?
No, not yet. Moreover, because of people's suggestions I reset my router to factory default and am now unable to configure it properly with my Airtel connection. I have been trying to configure it all evening, but to no avail. So now using original Airtel wired modem. Basically, I'm f****d up.
Will call Airtel engineer tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that.
Collect the details of the wi-fi settings from engineer. Else, try calling their Customer Service and ask them for the setting. They might be able to help you.

WiFi issues after Marshmallow update

Hey guys,
Having an issue with WiFi since the Marshmallow update. We have an open WiFi network at work that you need to sign in to the firewall to access internet. Previously it worked fine, but after the Marshmallow update, my phone constantly drops the WiFi network. It always happens when I lock the phone or otherwise let the screen turn off for more than about a minute, but it also happens even when I'm using my phone, if I'm on for more than about 5 minutes on average it drops the network. When I go to reconnect, it lists under the SSID "Internet not available" but I just tap the network and tap connect and it connects anyway, doesn't even make me sign into the firewall again. I'd really appreciate some help with this, if I can't get this fixed I'll be doing away with Android for good. I don't use my phone for much other than Facebook and games, so I'm not at all opposed to using a custom ROM if that would help. Just haven't installed one since CM7 on my HTC Evo Shift, so I duno which would be best for my situation. Thanks in advance for any input!
Bump. Hopefully someone has a solution...
One more bump before I give up...
Hi, I'm on stock firm, and after the last upgrade, I cannot connect to my work's wifi network. It's a EAP-MSCHAP2 connection. At home, wifi works flawlessly....

try talking to your system administrator at work. The upgrade may cause a comparability issue that maybe fixed by a simple tweak at work.
