Previous versions:
Typoclock_R5
I have added a new layout named "personalize" in which all the elements of typoclock are linked to the registry values (CHT.Typoclock.XXXX) it means that hours, minutes, colon, daydate, weekday, month & AMPM can be moved, resized, coloured, and shown or hidden, also month and weekday can be shown in upper or lower letters.
So you can easily redesign your own typoclock, or just adjust the position of the elements after change the font (typoclock.ttf) The new version of typoclock keeps the same variables and previous layouts (white, black, blue, yellow & green) If you want to install it be sure to uninstall previous verssion.
Hi friends, with the help of mncessna & preston74 i have made this widget for Co0kie Home Tab 2.0 (CHT2.0) similar to android typoclock
IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL CO0KIE HOME TAB 2.0. This widget does not work with previous versions
1) It is done on the base of the Co0kie CHTAddon Digital Clock, but the time & calendar is text string, with the same font of the rest of Sense (Helvetica Neue OTS). The graphics files still are there but are not seen (100%transparent). I hope to get' em out in future versions to make the code much clean.
2) So it would be easier to change the color with m9editor. I want to publish in 2 colors white & black. done!
3) I have to solve also the issue of the languaje, months are always in English! done Thanks a lot to MoonNah for the new code
4) The weekday I would like to have full names. done Thanks a lot to MoonNah for the new code
5) I have move a bit the elements, please feedback if fit better now. The dayweek in English start with capital letter so it could go a bit lower still.
6) For future verssions we could try everything graphics (qtc) even month, dayweek, year, etc instead of text string. It will be much more skinneable.
7) should work correctly in 24h & am-pm. done;
8) Added a cero when date number has only a digit.
9) It is resizeable & pinneable.
10) Shoul be compatible with windroid digital clock & Poy2BinaryClock. done
11) In future version will try to add some colors into the widget, as diferents layouts. done
12) More things to do: to add blinking dots every second done; to make it biggerdone; to add alarm; to add own font; ...
Link for the widget kitchen: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10718996/Poyensa Public Cab/typoclock/typoclock_r4_kitchen.zip Feel free to do any change to addapt it to your own theme.
Thanks a lot to mncessna, preston74, rat_2665 & moonNah for the files -all credits must go to them, dunc001 & mike2nl for the feedback and test, and always to co0kie monster for the CHT 2.0!
If you like blinking dots be sure to switch on show second hand in CHTEditor - widget setting - clocks - show second hands on. If you want to disable blinking dots just disable that option. (thanks to rat for adding this code in the original code, and dunc001, mike2nl & m0nkeyman for tests & feedback)
rev 03.11.2010: added a cero when hour has only one digit; added black color
rev 05.11.2010: added blinking dots (made by mncessna); added am-pm; biger up to 175%, added CHTS
rev 06.11.2010: 4 colors into the widget (black, white, blue & green)
rev 07.11.2010: i think i finally got out of all the graphics files. This version should be compatible with others digital clocks (windroid-binary-silver-co0kie)
rev 07.11.2010: added typoclock with am/pm in the middle of the two dots.
rev 08.11.2010: The typoclock includes background from the very begining, but i did not included in the cabs. If you wish to have BG copy the attached file 3953C628_manila in windows folder.
rev 11.11.2010: Thanks a lot to moonNah for the new code. Now typoclock is displayed in your own languaje!!! try typoclock_r3.cab
rev 23.11.2010: I have referenced the font of typoclock_r4 to typoclock.ttf in windows folder, so any new font you want to use just change the name to typoclock.ttf and copy and paste in windows directory, accept overwritte, and softresset (some times is enough restart sense only) Then typoclock will use this new font without any interference with the rest of sense/WM. Maybe you will need repositioning the items afetr the change of the font, you can do it following post#2. I have included in the _r4 cab the font displayed in the screenshot, so by default is HelveticaNeueOTS.ttf. I am not used to work with differents fonts, and sometimes behaviour is erratic, but this is working for me and i hope it also works for you I will upload some other fonts in post#2 and you can find many in this thread (thanks to Major_Sarcasm for this) and also in Google search
this screenshot is Jott.zip, copy the file typoclock.ttf from inside Jott.zip to windows folder and softresset. Be sure to install _r4 previously.
Try also Typoclock 3D made by MoonNah in post#105

If you use the Droid Sans Font - as I do - then here is the modified Typoclock r3 Version that works with Droid Sans Font.
I have also attached the Font if you like it.

Sorry, i should have adverted in big letters: UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS BEFORE INSTALL THE NEW ONE!!!
ATTENTION !!! If you want to have more than 10 widgets installed you need to have this file 7c60907d_manila copied in your \widnows directory, as explained in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9565725&postcount=3353
1 - small trick: put your device in DevMode
If you wish to modify any widget is very hard to get the files, compile, put into the cab, install, see that is not enough changes so you have to uninstall and start again.
Co0kie has a DevMode for easy test the widgets:
0) EDIT sorry forgot the very begining: conect the device to your PC via USB and synchronize
1) uninstall the widget you want to modify
2) run the file z_init.bat
3) put the device in DevMode. Go to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.DevMode and change to DWORD =1 (create if does not exit)
4) do the changes in the widget files in workspace folders, remember to save after finish.
5) run the file _Deploy_to_device_in_dev_mode.bat. It will pass the files to the device and will restart sense. If the widget is not displayed you will have to activate it in the CHTMenu>edit mode>add new element
6) repeat 4 & 5 as much as necessary
7) once you finish run file _generate_files_for_cab.bat and will get the compiled files in folder /cab/_final_files ready for the cab.
8) Do not forget to dissable DevMode once you finish and before install any new widget (HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.DevMode DWORD =0)
My advice is to create a baseline, an initial working workspace. Once you do a change and it works, go for the next (step by step). Always have a backup. And enjoy!
We will help as much as we can, but please understand this is developers mode It may crash your sense so be ready to hard resset if something is wrong. CHTS can help
2.- HOW TO MOVE THE DATE, WEEK, MONTH, ETC TO ADDAPT THE WIDGET TO YOUR OWN FONT
WITH TYPOCLOCK_R5 NO NEED TO EDIT THE FILES WITH M9EDITOR, JUST USE THE REGISTRY
When you use diferents fonts the typoclock may suffer problems of alignment, but this can be solved easily as all the elements of the widget (date, colon, month, etc) can be moved by editing the mode9 file. You can find some examples of how to edit mode9 files in this 2 threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688002
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691638
But the mode9 files of any CHT2.0 widget has no fix name, it takes the proper name in the process of installation, which depends of the slot asigned. So this edition has to be done before install the widget. Do we need to download the widget kitchen linked in #1 but we will only work on the file CHTmode9_manila located in the folder CHT2.0_typoclock_kitchen.zip\cab\_files_final
1) So extract the kitchen in a proper directory then open m9editor (is in the kitchen \CHT2.0_typoclock_kitchen.zip\Tools\M9Editor\m9editor.exe) and select as working directory the folder \_files_final then open the file CHTmode9_manila
2) We have to find the <objects> Type= "GLESText" for the edition, then modify the property position value X= ___ Y= ___ (X horizontal - Y vertical; never touch Z) of the element (poy2weekday, typoclock_colon, etc) we want to modify the position in pixels. Change the values in the yellow boxes the click OK button. Once the positions are modified save mode9 file, accept overwrite.
3) Now we have to put this modified file into the widget cab, I use WinCE cab>cabinet>files>add then select the file CHTmode9_manila from folder \cab\_files_final, accept replace (I really do drag and drop), and finally file>save
4) Nothing else, just put the cab into your device and install the widget. You have to uninstall previous versions before install the new cab. Please post some screenshots here to see your modified typocloks
I am uploading some fonts that i have used for typoclock_r4. Inside every cab there is a file typoclock.ttf. Copy & paste in windows directory, accept overwrite & soft-resset.
cool thanks
think im gonna have to give this a try
after i restarted my phone it looks like this now
any ideas what i did wrong lol
Jesus poyensa,
we can't stop you. This is also dream stuff. There was someone who was searching for this. I will look in my posts and will link it to here. Thank you for this and my respect and you have done it
Edit 1:

Edit 2:

amazing work buddy.
black looks also cool
Thanks kamerius for the feed back, i have to check the fonts used, have you modified yours previously? I will have a look to this thread and play a lil ... Also I will add a cero when the hour is one digit for better fitting.
Oh, I forgot the incompatibility with windroid as we used the same poy2 digital clock for that theme ... have you installed previously windroid digital clock? I apologize for the inconveniences. Will be also fixed.
Thanks a lot mike & kjhadfield for your nice words

i havent changed font or installed windroid
take your time
looks absolutely fantastic. love it for my lockscreen. great job!
Firstly, I would like to say thank you VERY much for your time and effort. It is greatly appreciated.
I have a few comments/questions.
When I install I get the error:
There are no more CHT widget slots available. Uninstall an addon widget to free up a slot. When I click ok I then get: An error occcured during the uninstall.
Nothing happens, it doesn't install.
1. Can this be installed without CHT 2.0? I onyl have 1.8.5
2. Can the test be larger like the link to go 'off screen?
3. How can I install it as a lock screen, stand alone only?
Again, from the screen shots I have seen it looks amazing. Well done.
Thank you so much for making this! Really cool
Loving the look of the widget, However given the amount i swap my wallapaper, one colour or the other usually winds up out of place. is it possible to get the black and the white in the same widget, as different styles we could flick through?
omg=.= i love this guy
Thanks a lot for all the answers & the screenshots

1. Yes it is necessary CHT2.0, it does not work with previous verssions
2. It could be, it should be a question to define the limits for the resizabe area. I will try.
3. You need CHT2.0 again. It makes possible to add the widgets where you like, even lookscreen.

It is possible but i dont have the Lua knowledge to do it yet. I keep trying and will ask for help, and will add this option in future verssions.
Excellent, thanks for clarifying.
I will install CHT once it is out of Beta. Just checked, final release is not out et.
Please let us know if you can make it stretch the whole screen, like the link I provided.
I have a feeling this will be a very popular lockscreen.
You have done a great job and should be proud of yourself.
This is really cool!
One problem though. Getting a line above the time. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but the line still persists. Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot for this guys!
Really great work............ as always

Minor framework-res.apk changes/fixes.
Changed a few things to what I personally use. (Get over it, or go to my google-code, download 0.05.3, and make a morph for the images you liked from it)
Might be a few more things in here than I intended, let me know if something looks completely out of place.

Only CM 5.0.6, will update others when new ROMs are dropped.

Very small visual changes. Probably not noticeable to anyone else.
Enomther still the same, once I do some more work visually, then I'll update it.
File name has test2 in it, but it is the correct file, just didn't feel like changing the name and re-uploading the exact same file.

Wysie 1.0r2 Contacts.apk
-Version 0.03-
Massive update.
Many .apk's themed.
Fixed some .9s in framework and music.
Grass and Nexus live wallpapers edited slighly.
New superuser icon. (I don't know who made it, I just saw it in a search, and it cracked me up)
Guess I should focus on a name now.
**Known Issues**
Calendar Widget looks like a POS. Didn't notice until after I had uploaded it and was setting up screen shots. Will get a fix up fairly soon. If you need the stock calendar widget badly then just push CalendarProvider.apk to /system/app/CalendarProvider.apk from the enomther theme template or from his 1.3 update.
Don't know if this is a theme problem or not, but the gallery will not load for setting a picture frame widget.
-Version 0.02.2-
New status bar.
New signal icons, data icons, vibrate icon, wifi icons, voicemail icon, alarm clock icon, usb icon, bluetooth icons, data sync icon, and battery icons.

Maybe other things.
-Version 0.02.1-
Black status bar with white text. Thanks to Enomther for this. Massive thanks.

-Version 0.02-
Fixed some .9.png's in framework-res.apk and Launcher2.apk
Redid Launcher2.apk some.
Redid some status bar icons.
Few more framework-res.apk images.
Few .xml edits.
Probably a few more things I forgot.
-Version 0.01-
Most of framework-res.apk done. (A lot of stuff here.)
Launcher2.apk - search widget and a few other things
Music.apk - music widget and other things.
Settings.apk - power control widget and other things.

I will look for a way to make the text black for the battery percentage, but if I can't find a way, or if a way isn't made available, then I will work on a new battery icon.

I did the images a few days ago, but didn't really like the way the phone icon looked warped, it doesn't look like that in the images, I assume it gets stretched some where, but after it was requested, I figured I would release it.

-Morphs--All morphs should have a .thm and .xml file, so they should work with either version of MetaMorph-
Gray Battery Percent Text
Changes the battery percent text to RGB 145 145 145 / HEX 91 91 91. Makes it visible/easy to read with the battery icon that comes with the theme (enough so that I finally use that feature now). Recommended that you use the extra above to move the battery percent to the left some, so that it appears more centered with this mod. Thank you to MontAlbert for sharing his findings about framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar_icon.xml controlling the color for the battery percent text.

-How to use MetaMorph-
Step 1
Download MetaMorph from the Market.
Step 2
Download the MetaMorph file of your choice and place it on your sdcard. I have a folder on my sdcard called "morphs" where I place all of my metamorph files.
Step 3
Open the MetaMorph app, select always allow, then press allow. Select Pick theme. Go to the folder where you put your metamorph files and select the one you want to apply.
Step 4
If you want to apply everything in the morph, then select apply all. MetaMorph will then begin to run through the process of applying the images to your .apk's. This will take a while if there are a lot of .apk's to be skinned.
Step 5
Once MetaMorph has gone through the process of applying the theme, You are done. Unless you applied a morph which has framework-res.apk in it, then you will have to reboot your phone, then you are done.
-About/Inspiration-Here is my inspiration for this theme. As should be obvious from that thread, I don't care for color, so this theme will try and get rid of as much of color as I feel like. This is for my own personal taste, If anyone wants to change anything and post it feel free to.
-Disclaimer-Nandroid before flashing this so that if something goes wrong, or you want to go back to how your phone was before, then you easily can. Also, if it breaks something, and I don't know how to fix it, then I will say "Apply your nandroid," and if you reply with something similar to "I didn't make one for 'insert your reason for not making a nandroid here.'" Then I will tell you to wipe your phone, and take it as a lesson learned. Also, I am not responsible for any ill things that come from using this. One last thing NANDROID FIRST.
Maybe one day I shall have need for more room.
Good going. I don't care for colour either. If I could change anything, I'd make the top bar black and fonts white. I know I read your other post. Good job.
Ahh, so yummy, can't wait till you're able to make the fonts white - so we can get a black status bar. Nice theme so far, it seems dark is in.
the ideas and skin look awesome so far, however like the other guys, i would prefer to see an all black color scheme (the top bar mostly) with white font... mixing 3 neutrals (black, grey, white) is no bueno for me, stick to two at a time such as (font on scheme) white on black, black on grey, or for a lighter theme black on white... that is a just an opinion from a graphic designer standpoint...
big heads up, as Eclair~ said, "it seems dark is in." Well it better be in with this phone because the more black on the screen the fewer pixels in use aka more battery power... dark=sexy=more power
just my 2 cents, i cant wait to get back to arizona to pick this thing apart
Awesome man. Flashin' this right now. I'll update with how it goes. :-D
Worked awesome man. Not a hitch at all. Flashed one, then the other. How hard would it be to make a full black statusbar, hiding both the date and the time (I use Beautiful Home, so I have redundant date/times).

should just be able to open up the .zip extract framework-res.apk. open it up, navigate to /res/drawable-hdpi/ pull statusbar_background.9.png from it, make it all black with some image editing software, replace it in that location in the .apk, then adb push back to /system/framework/framework-res.apk, then reboot.

Because of the sizing of the .9.png I doubt it should have to be signed (along with the fact that it will be a single color). If you are talking about the .apk, if you are pushing .apk's to /system then you don't have to sign them.

After making the edit and pushing the apk, I sat staring at the first boot screen for quite awhile. What are you using to recompress? Wonder if that makes a difference. Also, should their be any compression on the zip file that I'm making?
Sorry for the all the questions. Gotta learn somewhere. I've read through all of Stericson's guides on previous occasions, but have been wary to make anything. Messing up my phone is one thing, but I don't want to risk anyone else's.
Edit, btw. We can take this to PM or whatever you want. Not trying to hijack your thread.

I always use 7-zip and never actually unzip anything, just add to the .zip/.apk file.
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/black_beta.zip
there is one that I went ahead and made with signing the .9.png in eclipse then signing the .zip. just flash it on top of the base theme.
Works great with Modaco ROM.
Using black status bar, much nicer than original.

CHANGELOG IN POST 3 - CHECK THERE FOR LATEST VERSION INFO
Well here it is, finally! What started out as three of us playing about with basic layouts and text colours has morphed into 6 weeks worth of work in my spare time creating from scratch a completely new WVGA theme for Weatherpanel. Every layout has been written from scratch, pretty much every icon, background, transition, etc has been created specifically for DDT (except the actual weather icons which is a modified set of Rumball's static Diamond VGA icons as they are without doubt the best weather icon set out there) and this is the result - we hope you like it!
This thread originally started out as a tutorial for getting Weatherpanel up and running on your HD2, giving it somewhere to live (in our case Second Today from Chi-Tai) and linking it using CHTE to be the default weather app. I've removed most of the rather longwinded background behind the project from this post as I'm sure most of you have read it by now, however for new visitors to our little HD2 WP community, welcome and we hope you find what you're searching for here! Weatherpanel really is the most comprehensive weather app out there - it may be old but it is still the best as far as information, accuracy and user customisation goes. Now with this new theme we reckon that visually and from an intuitive UI point of view it blows the other weather apps away (and it's free!)
Before we start I must give credit where due to Marsware, the original creators of Weatherpanel, Chi-Tai for Second Today and of course the remarkable Mssrs Cookiemonster & JCM for the unbelievably superb CHT & CHTE without all of whom none of this would have been possible. Thanks also to my two brothers in insomnia - Davej and Troed whose initial tweaks to the original Phatphinger and Diamond themes set us off down this road in the first place, and for keeping me going over the last few weeks - thanks guys!
Right, so here's why - Basically, fed up with the lack of information on the Sense weather tab I was looking for a way to click on the weather section of the Home tab and be taken to a much better weather app than the weather tab. Days and weeks of searching and experimentation finally led me to the following solution - Weatherpanel (an old WM Today plugin) given a home in Second Today which is in turn set as the preferred weather app in CHTE. It is all beautifully simple and works perfectly.
Let's get this out of the way before we start in BIG RED LETTERS:
This does not replace the Sense weather tab !!!
It is still there and can be accessed from your slider as usual. This setup simply directs a touch on the weather element of CHT to Second Today & Weatherpanel.
About DAVEJ's Animated Icon Set
My very good friend Dave has spent way too many hours editing Rumballs original VGA animated icon set and resizing the various sets to make them fit this theme. The icons set is huge at over 88Mb! Unfortunately WP uses a rather crude MNG image format (renamed .wpa) which means very large files compared to gifs. As a consequence the size of the main screen large animated icons has had to be kept smaller than we would ideally have liked because to make them the same size as the static icons would have meant each file was way over 10mb and caused WP to run at a snails pace or crash altogether. So Dave arrived at the best compromise he could to balance size over performance. The smaller sets are absolutely fine. We have culled frames in many of them to keep the overall size down and have made them all single play. And as you go up in the various sizes Dave has thinned out the sets progressively until the Huge ones on the main screen have just the most common weather types animated and the rest are static (otherwise you'd have had a 150Mb icon set!). They do slow WP down a bit but we think they are well worth it! We all run both icon sets and themes and switch between them as the mood takes us...
IF YOU WANT TO USE THE ANIMATED ICONS YOU MUST INSTALL THE RELEVANT AI (ANIMATED ICON) VERSION OF THE THEME AFTER THE MAIN INSTALL HAS COMPLETED - INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED BELOW!
Here is the walkthrough:
IMPORTANT FOR NEW USERS AND EXISTING USERS UPDATING TO THE NEW THEME:
For some reason the maximum useable screen area for WP differs between 6.5 and 6.5.x ROMS. Basically in 6.5 ROMs WP can be set to a maximum visible height of 720 pixels, whereas 6.5.x can go to 760 pixels (proper full screen below your taskbar). Also, we have discovered that Weatherpanel takes it's time format from your main phone settings (12hr/24hr) and as the layouts I originally wrote were for 24hr there were errors on screen if you are using 12hr time format. I have therefor created two complete versions of the theme so make sure you download the correct one for your WM version, each with three layout options in both 12 and 24hr format, otherwise the theme will not look right and you may be left with a scrollbar and overlapping elements on screen. Also, you must pay particular attention to the setup instructions for Second Today on first run - Disable Command Bar - as otherwise you will not get full screen and instead will have an unsightly scrollbar down the right hand side of your screen.
FULL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW USERS
(ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ANIMATED ICON SET IN THIS COLOUR)
There are two cab files linked to below which will do 90% of the installation for you. Make sure you download the correct cab for your WM version (6.5 or 6.5.x). Both cabs can be used for installs with or without CHT, and include the necessary reg settings for both CHT 1.8.5 and CHT 2.0
1. Download the relevant cab file for your WM version:
COMPLETE CAB INSTALL FOR WM 6.5
COMPLETE CAB INSTALL FOR WM 6.5.x
If you want the option of using Dave's animated icon set you will also need to download and unzip the relevant additional AI (Animated Icons) theme folder :
ANIMATED ICONS ADD-ON FOR WM 6.5
ANIMATED ICONS ADD-ON FOR WM 6.5.x
2. Download and unzip one or both of the icon sets:
STATIC ICON SET
DAVEJ'S ANIMATED ICON SET
IMPORTANT - When unzipping files you may find that you end up with a folder within a folder (DDT Mod Diamond WVGA Static Icons>DDT Mod Diamond WVGA Static Icons, same with icons folder) - Make sure you take the 'inner' folder out and use it to copy as if you forget to do this the icons will not appear in Weatherpanel
3. Install the cab to your storage card (you can put it in main memory if you like but the icon files will need to go there too and they are big folders (around 17Mb for the Static Icons and 88Mb!!! for the Animated Icons) - it runs perfectly well from the SD card). The cab will then install Second Today automatically to your device, and Weatherpanel and the theme to your storage card.
4. When the cab finishes intalling Weatherpanel runs through an extract process and will probably leave you with a WP window asking you to select language (default is English). Select your language then press your hardware back key. Then you can click OK as normal after a cab install.
5. Now you need to copy the complete unzipped icon set folder(s) to Storage Card>Program Files>Marware>Weatherpanel>Icons. If you are installing the animated icon set you also now need to install the unzipped AI theme folder to Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel>Themes
6. SOFT RESET
7. Now you need to open Weatherpanel for the first time. If you are using CHT then simply touch on the weather element of your home tab. If you are not using CHT then you need to go to Start Menu>Second Today and click on Second Today. First time you open it you will either get a blank screen with a message at the top saying invalid layout or you will see the Second Today settings window. If you see the few lines of text at the top of an otherwise blank screen then simply touch on this message and it will open the Weatherpanel settings screen. If you see the Second Today settings window it means that the ST settings haven't 'stuck' during the install so you need to do the following before proceeding:
7.1. On the plugins tab check the box beside Weatherpanel and make sure NO other boxes are checked
7.2. Still on the plugin tab check 'Use Custom Background' and then browse to whatever wallpaper you want for your main WP screen - don't use anything too light as some of the text won't show up!
7.3. On the display tab delete any text in the Window-Title box
7.4. Check the box beside 'Disable Command Bar' - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Once you have made these changes click on the right softkey to accept the settings and you will be taken to the blank screen with the few lines of text at the top (touch on the text at the top of the screen), or directly to the WP settings window.
8. You then need to set up Weatherpanel by doing the following:
NB There is no confirm or back softkey in the WP settings screen so once you have entered all you need to on a certain screen you need to press your hardware back key to return to the previous screen or to exit settings altogether.
8.1 Add your cities (NOTE - WP does not utilise My Location so you have to manually enter locations you want weather info for) which is just a case of clicking 'Add New', then entering your city name in the 'Search For' box.
8.2 Once you’ve added each new city you then need to add weather images for each city (if you want weather maps to show up). If all your cities are in the same part of the world (i.e. Europe) then you just need to add the same image(s) for each city. I’m in the UK so all my cities use the same Europe maps. For more info on finding and adding weather images look HERE and try http://www.weathercharts.org/ - thanks again Troed
8.3 Once you’ve added all your cities and images click on the Display tab. The theme, icon set and layout are all already preselected by the cab install. You do however have a choice of six possible DDT layouts to select from in the Layout dropdown list (V2+, V2Mid, V2Lite in either 12 or 24hr format - see below). Select the layout you would like to try first, and make sure you select the correct version for the time format you use on your phone. If you are wanting to use the animated icons and have followed the instructions correctly to this point you need to change the Theme to the AI theme you will have in the Theme dropdown. Then simply choose your preferred layout as before, and in the Icon dropdown select the Animated icon set.
Once you’ve done this then click your hardware back key and you should then see the main WP display for the first city in your list. The left/right arrows beside the location name let you scroll through your cities. To exit the WP screen back to wherever you were simply click your hardware back or home key.
Job done
If once you've followed the installation instructions you are having any issues with not seeing the full screen, or having a scrollbar down the right hand side of the screen (and you have definitely installed the correct version of the theme for your WM version) please do the following:
With Weatherpanel open press your hardware Start Menu button. The open the Second Today folder and click on SToday Settings. In the Display tab make sure that 'Disable Command Bar' is checked. Exit by pressing the right softkey and Weatherpanel should now look correct.
About User Translation
THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH DDT V2 - NOT PREVIOUS VERSIONS
This final edition of the theme is now fully user translatable through the use of the lang.txt file attached at the bottom of this post. All you need to do is download the file, open it in any text editor (Notepad is perfect for the job) and translate the text on the right hand side of each entry. The attached sample is for German users so if you want DDT in German then simply use this file! Once you've completed your translation save the file as lang.txt and copy it to the main Weatherpanel folder on your storage card (Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel).
There are a few things to bear in mind when you are translating:
1. Please stick as closely as possible to the number of characters in the english version of each text entry as this is the text the theme was designed around and if you increase the number of characters it will mess up the look of the theme or the text may not display at all.
2. You will be limited to the language specific characters available in the fonts used in DDT (Helvetica and Helvetice Neue Thin) so probably no Chinese or Russian translations?
3. Once you have translated I apologise if some of the grammar or syntax doesn't track perfectly but again the theme is written in English and although I have done my best to break the text up in such a way that when translated it makes sense there may be one or two elements that aren't perfect!
If you do translate the lang.txt into something other than German (or if you produce a better German one than mine!) please post it in the thread with the filename lang_*language*.txt (i.e. lang_french.txt) and I will compile a library of translation files in the second post.
Dave and I also reckon there should be a prize for the most amusing English adaptation of the text - do and English to English translation but substitute where relevant for amusing alternatives (ie Snow=Jeez, it's cold out here etc...)

Main screen layout options and navigation overview
V2+
V2Mid
V2Lite
There are three options for the main screen in the theme - V2+ (shown on the left above with two hide/reveal panels to play with), V2Mid (shown in the centre with the 5-day forecast permanently displayed and a hide/reveal info panel) and V2Lite (shown on the right above withboth the info and forecast panels permanently displayed). In the V2+ and V2Mid layouts the info panel is opened with the info button on the left hand side of the screen, and in the V2+ layout the five day forecast panel is opened by clicking on the five suns at the very bottom of the screen. Once the forecast panel is open you can then click on each day to be taken to a full forecast summary for that day.
Most elements on the main screen are clickable as shown above, and in each subsequent screen you will find a shortcut navigation panel on the top right of the screen allowing you direct access to anywhere else in WP you might wish to go. In addition, wherever the moon appears in the theme you can click on it to be taken to the Lunar Schedule page. It would take me forever to explain the function of every element in the theme, but as they are all very intuitive and each screen is fully self-explanatory I'll just let you play around and discover it all for yourself! You can't break it by playing around too much so have fun! As a rough guide however the various screens are as follows:
Main screen - contains all relevant current weather data (with info panel open), 5 day overview (with forecast panel open, sunrise/sunset times, local time for location selected, current moon phase, current temp, etc
1 - Current conditions screen - gives a bit more detail along with a 24 hour combined temp/rain chart
2 - 10-day summary page - each day is clickable to access the main forecast page for that day
3 - Lunar Schedule - with current and next moon phase info
4 - Charts page - four hourly/daily charts showing forecast max/min temp, precipitation, windspeeed and humidiy
5 - Full forecast page - Day and evening forecasts for the selected day, plus moon info
6 - Radars page - where web weather images, traffic cam images, etc you specify in your radars.txt appear and can animate. The player buttons are hidden when you first open an image page - to open the controls simply touch and hold on the image for a second or so and the buttons will appear.
If you are in Europe then you can download the attached radar.txt file and overwrite the one in the Weatherpanel folder on your storage card as it contains several more Europe radar image URLs.
Hope this walkthrough helps anyone else out there as thick as me to get there a lot quicker than I did! Now I have four questions for the clever people out there to do with things that would make it better but which I have no chance of finding a solution to on my own:
Any questions/suggestions please feel free to ask.
Enjoy
One word of warning - WP can be pretty data intensive so beware! I have two cities and four weather images and the update size is around 1MB, so if I have it set on hourly updates I can easily hit 10MB+ each day. I only hook up on wifi at home and work so not a problem, but if you are using mobile data you may want to keep an eye on it.

FAQs
FAQs & Add-ons
City name cut off or overlapping left/right arrows - When you search for your city in the WP Add City screen it will appear in the Name box at the top of the screen as City, Country. In a lot of instances this will make the name too long to fit on screen in the space I have allowed. All you need to do is edit the City name in the Name box at the top of the screen to either remove or abbreviate the Country or State name and it should now fit. Also if you cannot find your tiny village in the search then just search the nearest large town, select it and edit the name in the top box to that of your village.
Can I use other WP icon sets - No. I have edited the Diamond VGA icon set, which has included adding in some missing ones and creating a full new set of resized moon icons. The theme also uses 5 different sizes of icons which other sets will not necessarily have.
Does it work with My Location - No. I am hoping someone far cleverer than me may pick this up and find a way of making it work but I'm afraid this is far beyond my meagre skills!
Animated icons? - Davej is currently working on an animated set of the main screen icons but at present the set is about 120Mb+ and slow to run so don't hold your breath - it may take some time!
Scrollbar showing on right hand side of screen - Either you are using a 6.5 ROM and have not followed the instructions for overwriting the 6.5 optimised files, or you have not followed the last instruction in Step 9 to Disable Command Bar in Second Today settings

To add additional weather images - Search online on your PC for current weather forecast for desired location. Once you've found a weather map/satellite image/radar image/etc that you want to use right click on it and select properties. Then copy the URL from the properties box. Open the radars.txt file from your WP folder using Notepad on your PC. You then need to add a name for the image, then hit enter and on the next line paste the URL (it'll make sense when you open the file!). Note - quite a few of the good looking weather images you'll find will be flash so you won't be able to incorporate them. Also try http://www.weathercharts.org/ and look HERE for more info Troed has posted on this
Sunrise/sunset times not showing correctly in 12hr format - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SELECTED ONE OF THE 12hr LAYOUTS IN THE DROPDOWN LIST
LITE version - If you would prefer to have the two popout panels (info and 5-day forecast) permanently displayed on the main screen there are two layout options in the theme folders available for download in the first post. Open WP settings and select DDT_Ultimate_V1Lite in the layout menu.
For Lite users - if you would prefer not to have the semi-transparent background behind the info panel 996r has created a fully transparent version which you can download HERE - just overwrite to the DDT theme folder.
Changing the background on all screens - The custom background you select during the setup process for Second Today is the background that will appear on the main screen only. If you want to apply the same (or any other background image) to the rest of the WP screens (with the exception of the Lunar Schedule and Detailed Forecast screens which use specific custom backgrounds) then you need to make a background image exactly 480x788 in png format, name it bkg.png and overwrite the one in the DDT theme folder. Restart WP and there you go.
Android causing problems with Weatherpanel - Look HERE - many thanks to jaguaralani for this one You'll have to follow his instructions for both the V1+ and V1Lite wpl's if you have both in the theme folder
GPS Setting - On the Connection tab in WP Settings there is an option for setting the GPS Port and Baud Rate. This does absolutely nothing so don't bother with it. The original developer of the core WP software disappeared in 2005 and it has remained pretty much unedited since then. This was something that appears to have been being planned for a later revision but that never happened.
For US Users - In some parts of the US Weatherpanel will provide weather alerts for certain conditions. As I don't get these in the UK I hadn't thought to do anything about an alert POPUP so WP uses the one from the default theme folder which isn't very pretty! I'll have a go at putting one together but as I can't test it it will be good luck if it looks any good! In the meantime Troed has edited the default one to be a bit more readable. Download and unzip the Alert.zip from this post and copy the Alert.wpx into Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel>Themes>DDT Ultimate

Minor modifications made to main screen layouts to increase response area for pressing on Info button, and to remove the problem of touching on the top left temp info on the main screen causing a new window to open with unsightly grey bar across the bottom.

I don't think so. The closest solution would be one similar to here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563150 - where you'd need to use MTP or similar to add a new tab in manila then deselect Sense weather tab in display settings. You'd then need to find the right bit of the registry to edit for CHT to then send you to the new tab when touching on the home tab weather element?
I didn't want to do this as it seems like far too much hassle and the solution above is really easy to implement.
Thanks a ton. Great instruction. Only problem: The Name of my city in the main screen is cut on both sides (as if it was too long), but there is still a lot of space to the edges of the screen. Any suggestions?
super, but, can i have this app in one .cab please, i'm geek ;p

I have followed everything step by step multiple times but when I get to the step to choose the layout, I don't see the option on the drop down for Phat+265.wpl, any ideas on this? Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Thanks for a great walk-through

I had this too, sorry forgot to mention it! Basically I found that when you go into WP settings to add or edit one of your cities you just remove the country name from after the city name in the very top box on the screen, then just hardware back key and it is saved - job done!

Yes it does as it is not integrated in Sense and therefore dependent on the SenseVersion or something (like the Sense-Tab-Integrated-Version you might have seen somewhere). This Proggi is fully based on SecondToday which should even run on WinMob2003

Update: This thread has been deprecated in favor of v2.0 with 4G toggle and other fixes. See Here for updated version.
As some of you who were following the progress thread know, over the past few weeks, I have been working on porting the CyanogenMod set of power control widgets, embedded into the notification window, over to Sense based ROMs (Fresh 3.4.0.1 is my base, confirmed working on fresh install, YMMV on other ROMS). While I hit a number of roadblocks, and while I've spent more time on this mod/port than I care to ever admit (I wouldn't be exaggerating in saying I probably have 100+ hours of dev time in this one), I am pleased to announce that Houston, we have lift-off . Thanks to the CyanogenMod team for the original creation that this is based upon.
So, what does this look like you say? Below is a screen shot of the default widgets that this mod comes with:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The 6 default widgets, from left-to-right are:
toggleGPS | toggleWifi | toggleBluetooth | toggleMobileData| toggleFlashlight | toggleSound
What's great about this mod, however, is that you can override this set of default widgets in favor of any of the 13 currently available widgets through a process I've built into the mod (explained later).
The power control bar allows for up to 6 different widgets to be specified. You can have less, but no more than 6. As mentioned, there are a total of 13 widgets that I've ported successfully so far. Here are a few more screen captures of the 7 remaining available widgets, shown in a set of 4, and a set of 3:
The 4 widgets, from left-to-right are:
toggleAirplane | toggleAutoRotate (disable landscape mode) | toggleBrightness (3 tiers) | toggleScreenTimeout (prevent screen from going black)
And the 3 remaining available widgets, from left-to-right are:
toggleSleepMode (put phone to sleep) | toggleSync | toggleLockScreen (disable lockscreen)
Take note of the naming convention I've used above for each widget. This is how Android, internally, is referencing each widget for use / display in the power control bar. This is important, since, as mentioned, you can override the 6 widgets this mod provides out of the box.
How you ask?
By creating a pipe delimited list (|) of widgets in a one-line text file named widget.txt, and dropping this file into the '/system/customize/' folder on your phone.
So, say you want your power control bar to contain 4 widgets for Airplane Mode, Wifi, Bluetooth, and Sync. You would create a one-line file using the following syntax:
Code:
toggleAirplane|toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleSync
Note: there CANNOT be any spaces between each widget defined, and the pipe delimiter is only placed between each instance, but not at the beginning or end. The syntax has to be EXACT, and case must match EXACTLY. If you have an error in your list, the slot / position where the error exists will result in an empty slot on your power control bar. If you fubar it bad enough, you'll probably bootloop your phone, so please use caution and check your work.
Once you've created your file, again, named widget.txt, all lower-case, using adb, push to your phone (the following commands assume your widget.txt file is in the same folder where you are issuing the adb commands):
Code:
adb remount
adb push widget.txt /system/customize/
adb reboot
Alternatively, drop your 'widget.txt' file on your sdcard, and use root explorer to copy the file to your clipboard, navigate to your '/system/customize/' folder, mount as r/w, paste the file in place, make sure permissions on the new file are set to 'read', at a minimum, and reboot.
If you are not comfortable with either of these options, post what you want in the thread, and I can whip up a flashable zip for you that will do the same, automatically.
Want to go back to the default widget setting? Simply rename or delete the 'widget.txt' file in your '/system/customize/' folder and reboot.
For your reference, when creating your 'widget.txt' file, here is the complete list of available widgets with correct syntax that you can copy / paste into your file (don't forget to pipe delimit them):
Code:
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
FYI, I've added in toast notification messages when toggling WiFi and Bluetooth, so as to acknowledge your button press, as these two options take a bit to instantiate.
This port / mod involves massive edits to your framework files, including framework.jar, services.jar, and framework-res.apk. As such, by flashing this mod, you will undo most mods / themes you have applied to your phone. There is no choice in the matter. Consider this your new / base / stock set of framework files if you wish to use, and modify to incorporate your own themes / mods accordingly. Or, if you don't want to lose your customizations, wait for your ROM dev, or themer to grab this port as a starting point to apply their changes.
You CANNOT flash this mod to implement the power control widget, and then flash a theme back over top it, if the theme replaces the framework-res.apk file (most likely do), as it will likely completely bork your phone, resulting in bootloops, as the theme will partially undo this mod, resulting in breaking both the mod and your phone
If the theme is a MetaMorph file, assuming the MetaMorph does not change any of the XML or other files that this mod does, and only changes images, etc, you should be safe in applying.
It should be noted that in the framework files provided in the flashable zip at the end of this post, the following additional mods have been included by default in the services.jar & framework.jar file:
Allow for transparent notification menu background (xeudoxus & fxn)
Remove USB Debugging icon
Remove GPS off reticle icon, retain GPS on reticle
USB Tether Fix (Calkulin)
Browser back button FC Fix (aamikam)
Quirk: If you toggle on/off any of the settings you have specified in your widget bar via a mechanism other than the widget bar itself, the state of that icon may become out of sync with the actual state of the feature you have toggled. By either waiting for the change to be picked up, or simply toggling any widget in your power control bar, all icons will be immediately updated to reflect their correct state. This does not affect functionality in any way. Remember, this is a port, I didn't code this from source, that would have been much easier .
Download Notification Window Power Control Widget for Sense ROMs <--- Flash via Recovery*
*Since this replaces framework files, your initial boot will take some time. Please be patient and NANDROID before flashing. I've also seen it take 2 boots, rather than one, to come up fully after the initial install. This is a major rework to the included files and it is certainly possible that it is incompatible with your specific setup. YMMV.
**This is provided stock. If you want a different look, colors, icons, etc, this is up to you and/or your favorite dev to have at it .
EDIT: See Here if, after flashing the above, you want to apply the super circle battery mod shown here, and See Here if, after flashing the above, you want to apply the super rectangle battery mod shown here.
EDIT 2: See Here to apply battery or clock removal mods after flashing the above.
EDIT 3: Want it in RED instead of blue? See Here.
What I released above is stock, intentionally, to be consistent with the original design from CM. This can be themed and "prettied up" as desired. For example, here's what I've done for my own phone to "buttonize" each widget and add a little more height / spacing between each (icons courtesy of djmcnz):

Wow, thanks for the confirmation. That's good to know. I'm a little surprised though, given the number of changes .
Dude.....this is fantastic. I'm running Calkulins EViO 1.5.1 and it installed and is running great. I had actually installed the clear lockscreen on my ROM, which also had changed some icons on the notification bar. When I installed this it looks like it left the clear lockscreen in tact but changed the notification bar icons.....which is actually great. I like these icons much better. Anyways, I'm actually pretty happy with the stock toggle selections so I dont know if I'll be creating my own file and pushing it tonight, but either way I think you did a fantastic job.

Great, thanks for the additional confirmation. This is a huge mod, so I'm feeling better knowing people are having success on different ROMs.
I tried to specify the default widgets that would be the most commonly used, so the customize option is there just for those who have a specific preferences...Plus, it's just fun to switch it up as well .
Great job my friend. I am running Cyanogen and my favorite feature was the power control widget in there. Amazing work for getting this to work on Sense!
Just flashed over VirusAnthrax ROM. Other than the notification bar going back to stock and my lock screen now displaying "John's Phone" everything is normal. I can fix the banner with the method from your other posts no problem. Do you think notification menu/battery mods will break the Power Control feature? I guess I could just flash and find out.
this might just be my phone but, my battery will not move. it will stay at 80% even though its lower if i check the settings.
Brilliant stuff. If I weren't running Myn's Warm I would be all over this; I like my black notification bar. Really awesome work, though.

Yes. An as mentioned in the OP, this will undo your themes. I think it was pretty clear. Now, in terms of the lockscreen, my bad. As soon as I get home i'll fix that. Thanks for the heads up.

Unfortunately, my battery moves
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
yeah i knew thats was going to be the case. i think i know what is doing it though.
So I just flashed this over my STOCK EViO 1.5.1 ROM and it changed all the notification bar icons EXCEPT the GPS and "EvDo" (3G) icons........which are the 2 that I hate, lol. And is this supposed to have numbers on the battery icon? Because mine doesnt. Also, my lockscreen still reads "MJ's EVO" I wonder if mine retained that since I had already modified it with CDMA workshop. Either way, I think playing with this is going to occupy my evening until my wife gets home, lol.
Ya, thought it was funny when my phone booted to the lockscreen and it said John's Phone. Id much rather have this than an android about the bottom of my notification tray, just hoping I can get a battery with %. Ill just flash some mods and see what happens. Either way, amazing work and in record time. You are dedicated to your craft and the Evo community is a greater place because of it.
you haven't incorporated the 4g toggle yet???? just asking, not trying to rush though
Simply amazing Js. I can't believe you rewrote an entire smali file.... I get headaches from smali files. Once I go HDPI, I will be adding this and sending you a donation!
The 4G toggle he said he was going to start worrying about AFTER the official launch of this mod. So, since this is the official launch, I suspect he will begin working on that soon (might be doing it as I type this).
Cant wait til he adds the 4G toggle though Currently using Widgetsoid, latest update added a functional 4G toggle to the switcher widget.
[MOD][PORT][APP]Vanilla Locks & Gestures (Multi-Silder/Rotary) & Config. App - Sense
Okay, the wait is finally over! As the title of the thread states, included below is a heavily modified framework for deodexed HTC Sense ROMs (3.70 base), that will give you the ability run any vanilla style lockscreen you desire, including options for standard tab/slider, multiple-sliders (4 tabs for unlock/mute/phone/messaging), or Rotary.
First, and foremost, thank you to the CM team for most of the starting source. I used their framework, and settings app as a starting point, and merged this with the original rotary source port I created for the Hero, which was based on the original Droid android 2.0 ROM.
This mod/port required heavy edits to multiple framework files, and the base/starting framework files I used were the Power Control Widgets, so flashing the mod linked below will also apply the notification menu widgets. There's really no choice in the matter, as otherwise, I would have to maintain two completely different sets of frameworks for this port/mod, which would create a mess.
So, just from the framework side of things, the mod includes the following files:
services.jar, android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk*
*Note: services.jar was not affected by this mod, but since framework.jar and framework-res.apk include, as mentioned, the power control widgets as its base, I had to include it in the zip).
When you apply this mod, given that the framework files referenced above will be replaced, any customizations/themes you may have applied will be removed and need to be re-applied with my framework files included below as the starting point. What does this mean? You CANNOT apply a previous theme you were using, not based off of the framework files in this thread, after having applied this mod. It will break. If you are not comfortable with this, you will want to wait until your ROM dev incorporates this into a new "point" ROM release.
Since all of the above framework files are being replaced, after applying, your initial reboot will take a while, as your Dalvik cache will get rebuilt. Be patient and don't panic.
Also, since the power control widgets were used as the starting framework, the framework files include the following modifications out of the box:
Allow for transparent notification menu background (xeudoxus & fxn)
Remove USB Debugging icon (me)
Remove GPS off reticle icon, retain GPS on reticle (me)
USB Tether / Hotspot Fix (vaelek & aamikam)
Disable Menu Unlock on Lockscreens (me) (new to this mod/port)
In addition to the framework files referenced above, the flashable zip will also install the following 2 applications:
DeskClock.apk <--- You MUST use this clock to set your alarms, to avoid issues when disabling your alarm, when using Vanilla Style locks on Sense ROMs. You will find this application in your app drawer via the following icon:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
EDIT 1/29/11: To modify your clock widget, to take you to the above referenced Android clock, when setting your alarm, rather than the HTC clock, which you shouldn't use, see HERE if using the animated flip, and HERE for the stock non-animated flip.
LockScreenSettings.apk <--- This is the application I "created" to set your lockscreen style and options (shown below).
The "LockScreen Settings" application can be found in the app drawer via the following icon:
Following are screen captures of the options available to you via the LockScreen Settings application:
As shown above, the settings application allows you to do the following:
Select your lockscreen style (tab v. rotary)
Enable Music Controls
Set if music controls are always present vs. only when music is playing
For tab version, add sliders for Phone & Messaging
Assigning Messaging Application to Messaging Tab/Slider
Setup Lockscreen Gestures, Trail, Color, Etc.
Disable slider/rotary dial and use gestures only (screen void of any unlock icons).
It is important to note that for now, as this is a complete hack that I created for putting this application together, that a reboot is REQUIRED after making any changes for your settings to take affect. I hope to resolve in the future, but it will have to do for now. A Hot Reboot will also do the trick, rather than a full restart.
Now, when applying this mod/port/app, in addition to the above files being installed, the updater-script will also automatically remove your HtcLockScreen.apk file, if present, in order to make sure the vanilla locks are used instead, AND install the necessary lockscreen_gestures to your /data/misc/ folder. This file is REQUIRED for the gestures to be written/saved for your phone, without it, gestures will NOT work. Application of the gestures portion may appear to stall when flashing. Be patient, it will apply. If, for whatever reason, after applying, you are unable to save gestures, try manually creating the necessary gestures file, with instructions provided here.
Download Vanilla Lockscreens Framework & Applications <--- Flash via Recovery
EDIT 1/29/11: The above link has been updated to include a newly modified DeskClock.apk with a "fixed" gallery button, to take you to the HTC Gallery/Album, rather than the stock Android gallery, which is not likely on your phone, preventing the button from working (second from the left at the bottom of the clock screen). See HERE for a standalone flashable zip for the clock only, if you've already applied this mod. It also includes an updated LockScreenSettings apk file to remove the "vestigal" appearance of RenderFx from your widget selections, since they do not apply to this mod.
Screen Captures
Following are screen captures of the various lockscreen versions you can apply with the settings application:
Stock Sliding Tab Lock:
Sliding Tab Lock w/ 4 Sliders:
Rotary Lock:
Blank Lock (gestures only):
MetaMorph
For the rotary lockscreen, if you do NOT prefer the direction arrows (see below), apply the attached using MetaMorph to remove:

Wow. This looks awesome. I'm very tempted to try it out. Now, if there was a way to get this lockscreen style to also apply to answering calls, I'd definitely go for it. I have like OCD when it comes to sliding left/right to unlock the screen but up and down to answer/decline calls.
Very nice work though and I definitely like the music controls being added.

As mentioned in the OP, gestures require the presence of a read/write file in the /data/misc/ folder, named lockscreen_gestures.
The flashable zip should create this file for you automatically. Did you use the zip to apply? Do you see the file on your phone?
If not, you can adb in and create the file and change its mode, which should get the gestures working:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
touch /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
chmod 777 /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
reboot

If not, you can adb in and create the file and change its mode, which should get the gestures working:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
touch /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
chmod 777 /data/misc/lockscreen_gestures
reboot
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
All I see is a folder called lockscreen which is empty and a file named screen_lock_status (I think)....
Man, thanks a ton for this; I can't wait to get home and set it up! I'm really glad that I stumbled onto the other thread but also that I only did so this morning otherwise I might have gone nuts with anticipation.

Back to the original question, did you apply by flashing the file linked in the OP?
Regardless, it appears to not be there, for some reason, so use the instructions above to manually create it.

The Android OS is a highly customizable system, we all know that. The preferred way by the majority to customize Android are the launchers, or by flashing a custom ROM. When you use a modified ROM, like CyanogenMod, customization options are expanded through options that do not exist in the original ROM. However, to customize the overall look like system icons, status bar, window transition effects an others things, it starts getting a bit more limited… or rather, it was. You must be thinking, "But there are dozens of themes to customize them." Yes, there are, but these themes leave your Atrix 2 with the aesthetic preferences of the creator of the theme, and not yours! You can not change individual parts of the themes, without some extensive knowledge of editing .xml files and so on. So, I present the solution for maximizing the customization of your Atrix 2, the UOT Kitchen.
"Kitchen? But, we will customize android or cooking a tasty casserole?" Well, this is more or less the same. Let’s cook, but not a casserole, but our ROM. And the ingredient list is quite varied, including battery icons, system menus, boot animations, fonts, and others. In the end, you will put the "ingredients" in the "oven" and wait for your finished version of your customized ROM to cook. Confused? See the tutorial and you will understand. UOT is an online theme configuration tool, or Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen. Due to differences in ROMs your cooking time may need to be adjusted. Be prepared, it will take at least a half an hour of your time. Be careful, if you accidentally click the wrong link, your work will be lost. If, for some reason, there are any problems encountered through your own experiences, let me know, and I will find out how to answer them or bring resolution to them.
Prerequisites & Comments:
To use this application, you must have root access on your Atrix 2
You need a basic understanding of the Android file system for this process
You current ROM's SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk and twframework.apk
framework-res.apk: system/framework
SystemUI.apk: system/app
twframework.apk: system/framework
The processes I will overview may be different if you are using another ROM or another phone.

Access site: UOT Kitchen: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Sometimes, when you access the site it says it’s full. The site has a limit of active orders, so be patient, wait a few minutes and try again.
Choosing Ingredients:
By accessing the site, you will see many options for customization. I will explain each one.
To use the option, click it and check "Use this mod".
Battery:
To change the battery icons. There are two options:
SCB with %: Choose a package, with icons for current status of the battery, battery charging, no batteries, etc.
Custom battery: Choose individual icons for current battery status, battery charging, no batteries, etc. Choose your options and click "Generate Preview".
Icons:
To change system icons, menus, status bar, etc.
Themed Icons Set: packages of pre-defined icons. You can choose which icons you will use each package.
Custom Uni-color Icons: Icons packages of only one color. You can choose a package and change the color of the icons and background.
Status Bar:
To change the status bar and window notifications. You can change the background color, transparency level, font, font color, font size, etc.
Caution:
Select the correct resolution!
Popup:
To change effects of over-scrolling, alerts, volume bar, download bar, menus and dividers charging indicator (one that is running while something is being loaded). You can choose colors, glow effects, styles, etc.
Lock screen:
To change the lock screen. You can choose the style of the buttons (slider, rotary, etc.). And themes to them; colors, what options will be available at lock screen, etc.
Caution:
Select the correct resolution!
Window:
Effects and animations of windows and menus. You can choose effects like slide, unfold, turn page, scroll, etc.
Fonts:
To choose the font to be used in the system.
Boot animation:
To change boot animation.
Caution:
Select the correct path to boot animation!
Select the correct resolution!
Okay, now that you’ve chosen the "ingredients", we will prepare and put them in the oven!
Cooking:
Select "File Upload". Here you need to set some options and send some files from your phone to be modified according to your choices.
First, it is highly recommended to perform a full backup of your current ROM. If you want to modify the "Popup", you will need to upload the file "framework-res.apk." To do this, using the Root Explorer app (or another app of your choice), go to "system/framework/" and copy "framework-res.apk" to the SD card. If you want to change the "Status Bar", you will need to upload the file "SystemUI.apk." To do this, go to "system/app/" and copy "SystemUI.apk" to the SD card. Now, copy the two files from your SD card to your computer.
Now, let's look at the site options:
Select flash-able zip scripting: You can use the ROM manager or the CWM to transfer your changes. But that depends on a script that varies according to the ROM and the device you are using.
Flashing folder for system files: Defines where the files will be transferred in your phone. Select "/system/framework" and "/system/app" respectively.
Patch9 auto fix: leave this option selected.
Theme Chooser preview: Optional. If you select it, will generate a preview in the Theme Chooser.
Kitchen’s settings (optional): Here you can download a file containing the current settings UOT Kitchen, or upload a file to a previous configuration that you have already done.
Select your ROM from kitchen’s list, or upload your own files: Check "Upload System Files" and upload the files "framework-res.apk" and "SystemUI.apk" into the right place.
Let's begin, with a more "visual" tutorial, shall we?
Before you even load the Kitchen, create a temporary folder for your work. Place a copy of your ROM on your desktop or other location fro easy access. Use 7zip (or whatever) to unzip it here. You'll see why in a moment. Now, fire up the Kitchen...
Pre-Themeing Checklist:
You will need the ROM you're trying to theme, 7zip (or a comparable compression utility), and a notepad (any will do). Also, it helps to have a clear idea of what you want to create. There are a lot of options in the kitchen, and if you don't know what you're after it's easy to get bogged down.
When you start the Kitchen you will see this:
Breakdown of the Kitchen:
The Kitchen is broken up into tabs, like a browser. Let's start with the tab labeled "Battery". In every mod of the Kitchen there is a check box, to select whether to use it or not. Select the check box if you want to theme the battery indicator. There really isn't a lot to this, you can use any combination of icons and settings without issue, except do not use any settings for MIUI.
If you happen to notice that the preview hasn't been rendered, that happens quite a bit, so you need to be patient. Also note that the color selections are in hex format. This is where the Notepad++ (Windows) or Leafpad (or other for Linux) comes in. I usually use three colors in my themes, a main as well as one a bit lighter and one a bit darker. Note the hex codes for your colors with the notepad, for easy copy and paste operations. This way you will have consistent colors across your theme. Like so:
The reason I use three shades per theme is for the pop ups, volume bars, and sliders. All of these options will let you use three or more colors. I like to assign the darkest shade for the top and bottom colors, and the lightest for the center in my volume bars. This creates a touch of a 3D illusion.
Now feel free to go wild with the modules of the kitchen, but two warnings:
Do not use an animated background for the notification area. This will crash the status bar, and you'll have no notifications.
Be careful when selecting the place for your boot animation.
We now have a Cyanogenmod-based ROM. Choosing the wrong location will result in a boot animation that can't be changed later (without jumping through a bunch of hoops! Solution at the bottom of the post.) One other thing, there are places in the Kitchen that need to know if your phone is HDPI, MDPI, or LDPI. After you are satisfied with your work, go to the file upload tab.
Don't be intimidated by settings you don't understand, just set them like mine (if they aren't already, these are the defaults). You will need to upload two files, that's why we chose the unzipped ROM back at the beginning. For the framework-res.apk, you will find it in /system/framework, for SystemUI.apk, you will find it in /system/apps. You also have the option of downloading your settings to a file. This makes for easy updating in the future. If you forget to save your settings, don't panic. Look inside your UOT .zip file with 7zip, and you'll find it in the folder called (what else?) /settings. Once those are uploaded you can go to the summary tab. Everything should be green or white like so:
Now, let’s put the recipe in the oven. Select the "Summary" tab and make sure all the options you chose are green. If any are red, return the corresponding tab and do the necessary corrections. If everything is correct, click "Submit work to kitchen". Will be generated a protocol number. Keep this number, you will need it to identify your order when it is ready. Orders can take some minutes to several hours to get ready, depending on the traffic order on the site and the amount of changes you requested. Please be patient. Go to the top "Pickup" tab and follow the progress of orders. Once your ready, download it. (the orders will be stored on site for a maximum of 12 hours. After that, they are deleted). Now you can use your preferred method to transfer files to your Atrix2, using the flash method (ROM Manager / CWM) or extract files from ZIP and transfer manually (Root Explorer or another).
Now you are ready to click submit. You should see something like this:
General Tips:
It's easy to go overboard. Think of the impact of not just the preview you're looking at, but of all of your customizations at once. Sometimes a little goes a long way.
If you are working on several themes at the same time, make note of the UOT number. Now go to the pick up page, and wait for your number to come up. Now you can download it for testing. It isn't unusual to re-cook a theme three or four times, to get it just right. If you are satisfied, it's time to give it a descriptive name, upload to something like Mediafire, put some screen shots on Photobucket, and post it here, if you'd like!
If you are updating a theme, just upload your UOT file in the settings tab. Note - For some odd reason, the Kitchen doesn't seem to save icon settings. You need to reset that every time. At least I do, but that might just be me.
Forget to save your settings? Like a theme by someone else, and want to do a remix? Please remember to give proper credit to the original theme author.
Open the theme zip file with 7zip (or similar) and look for the folder "settings", your UOT file will be in the root of that folder.
Want to use a boot animation other than what's in the kitchen? Make your own with this nifty tool, and flash away!
Again, with 7zip (or similar) open your theme zip file. Navigate to /system/media where you'll find a file named boot animation.zip. Overwrite this with your custom file re-named to boot animation.zip. Now you need to resign your zip, or it won't install.
Have a boot animation that just won't go away? Tried flashing new themes, and different boot animations with no effect?
Use Root Explorer (or similar) and navigate to /data/local. Delete the boot animation.zip. Reboot and enjoy!
Feel free to ask questions, or make observations. I will continue to edit and tweak this guide, and I welcome your feed back.

Disclaimer
It took a lot of time and effort from all the above to make this kitchen, and it takes a lot more to maintain it. Users should realize this and appreciate the work done.
Bugs and errors (except de-compiling error) will try to be solved; however, the members listed above will need the code you receive back when you upload your file. Backups of the same will be kept for 12 hours, so if you have an error respond within that time.
Myself, nor any of the above will not be responsible for any damage that occurs to your device by the use of the themes created here, though if such an unfortunate event occurs do tell us we'll be happy to help.
Suggestions are welcomed for future releases.
Nice, guide. Hopefully some people will create some really cool things using the UOT, as I am not too sure how many users actually knew about it. Glad you brought it back to the front of the line, for everyone.
I was just going through a guide to use apktools for de/recompiling systemui.apk, now this looks even more interesting.. cant wait to try this.

I think you did a really good job putting info together for a guide.
Although a lot of these things are probably posted, most lot of the information is fragmented and difficult to either find or follow.
Thanks for putting this guide together, and hope a lot of people put out some good looking mods!
