CHANGELOG IN POST 3 - CHECK THERE FOR LATEST VERSION INFO
Well here it is, finally! What started out as three of us playing about with basic layouts and text colours has morphed into 6 weeks worth of work in my spare time creating from scratch a completely new WVGA theme for Weatherpanel. Every layout has been written from scratch, pretty much every icon, background, transition, etc has been created specifically for DDT (except the actual weather icons which is a modified set of Rumball's static Diamond VGA icons as they are without doubt the best weather icon set out there) and this is the result - we hope you like it!
This thread originally started out as a tutorial for getting Weatherpanel up and running on your HD2, giving it somewhere to live (in our case Second Today from Chi-Tai) and linking it using CHTE to be the default weather app. I've removed most of the rather longwinded background behind the project from this post as I'm sure most of you have read it by now, however for new visitors to our little HD2 WP community, welcome and we hope you find what you're searching for here! Weatherpanel really is the most comprehensive weather app out there - it may be old but it is still the best as far as information, accuracy and user customisation goes. Now with this new theme we reckon that visually and from an intuitive UI point of view it blows the other weather apps away (and it's free!)
Before we start I must give credit where due to Marsware, the original creators of Weatherpanel, Chi-Tai for Second Today and of course the remarkable Mssrs Cookiemonster & JCM for the unbelievably superb CHT & CHTE without all of whom none of this would have been possible. Thanks also to my two brothers in insomnia - Davej and Troed whose initial tweaks to the original Phatphinger and Diamond themes set us off down this road in the first place, and for keeping me going over the last few weeks - thanks guys!
Right, so here's why - Basically, fed up with the lack of information on the Sense weather tab I was looking for a way to click on the weather section of the Home tab and be taken to a much better weather app than the weather tab. Days and weeks of searching and experimentation finally led me to the following solution - Weatherpanel (an old WM Today plugin) given a home in Second Today which is in turn set as the preferred weather app in CHTE. It is all beautifully simple and works perfectly.
Let's get this out of the way before we start in BIG RED LETTERS:
This does not replace the Sense weather tab !!!
It is still there and can be accessed from your slider as usual. This setup simply directs a touch on the weather element of CHT to Second Today & Weatherpanel.
About DAVEJ's Animated Icon Set
My very good friend Dave has spent way too many hours editing Rumballs original VGA animated icon set and resizing the various sets to make them fit this theme. The icons set is huge at over 88Mb! Unfortunately WP uses a rather crude MNG image format (renamed .wpa) which means very large files compared to gifs. As a consequence the size of the main screen large animated icons has had to be kept smaller than we would ideally have liked because to make them the same size as the static icons would have meant each file was way over 10mb and caused WP to run at a snails pace or crash altogether. So Dave arrived at the best compromise he could to balance size over performance. The smaller sets are absolutely fine. We have culled frames in many of them to keep the overall size down and have made them all single play. And as you go up in the various sizes Dave has thinned out the sets progressively until the Huge ones on the main screen have just the most common weather types animated and the rest are static (otherwise you'd have had a 150Mb icon set!). They do slow WP down a bit but we think they are well worth it! We all run both icon sets and themes and switch between them as the mood takes us...
IF YOU WANT TO USE THE ANIMATED ICONS YOU MUST INSTALL THE RELEVANT AI (ANIMATED ICON) VERSION OF THE THEME AFTER THE MAIN INSTALL HAS COMPLETED - INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED BELOW!
Here is the walkthrough:
IMPORTANT FOR NEW USERS AND EXISTING USERS UPDATING TO THE NEW THEME:
For some reason the maximum useable screen area for WP differs between 6.5 and 6.5.x ROMS. Basically in 6.5 ROMs WP can be set to a maximum visible height of 720 pixels, whereas 6.5.x can go to 760 pixels (proper full screen below your taskbar). Also, we have discovered that Weatherpanel takes it's time format from your main phone settings (12hr/24hr) and as the layouts I originally wrote were for 24hr there were errors on screen if you are using 12hr time format. I have therefor created two complete versions of the theme so make sure you download the correct one for your WM version, each with three layout options in both 12 and 24hr format, otherwise the theme will not look right and you may be left with a scrollbar and overlapping elements on screen. Also, you must pay particular attention to the setup instructions for Second Today on first run - Disable Command Bar - as otherwise you will not get full screen and instead will have an unsightly scrollbar down the right hand side of your screen.
FULL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW USERS
(ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ANIMATED ICON SET IN THIS COLOUR)
There are two cab files linked to below which will do 90% of the installation for you. Make sure you download the correct cab for your WM version (6.5 or 6.5.x). Both cabs can be used for installs with or without CHT, and include the necessary reg settings for both CHT 1.8.5 and CHT 2.0
1. Download the relevant cab file for your WM version:
COMPLETE CAB INSTALL FOR WM 6.5
COMPLETE CAB INSTALL FOR WM 6.5.x
If you want the option of using Dave's animated icon set you will also need to download and unzip the relevant additional AI (Animated Icons) theme folder :
ANIMATED ICONS ADD-ON FOR WM 6.5
ANIMATED ICONS ADD-ON FOR WM 6.5.x
2. Download and unzip one or both of the icon sets:
STATIC ICON SET
DAVEJ'S ANIMATED ICON SET
IMPORTANT - When unzipping files you may find that you end up with a folder within a folder (DDT Mod Diamond WVGA Static Icons>DDT Mod Diamond WVGA Static Icons, same with icons folder) - Make sure you take the 'inner' folder out and use it to copy as if you forget to do this the icons will not appear in Weatherpanel
3. Install the cab to your storage card (you can put it in main memory if you like but the icon files will need to go there too and they are big folders (around 17Mb for the Static Icons and 88Mb!!! for the Animated Icons) - it runs perfectly well from the SD card). The cab will then install Second Today automatically to your device, and Weatherpanel and the theme to your storage card.
4. When the cab finishes intalling Weatherpanel runs through an extract process and will probably leave you with a WP window asking you to select language (default is English). Select your language then press your hardware back key. Then you can click OK as normal after a cab install.
5. Now you need to copy the complete unzipped icon set folder(s) to Storage Card>Program Files>Marware>Weatherpanel>Icons. If you are installing the animated icon set you also now need to install the unzipped AI theme folder to Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel>Themes
6. SOFT RESET
7. Now you need to open Weatherpanel for the first time. If you are using CHT then simply touch on the weather element of your home tab. If you are not using CHT then you need to go to Start Menu>Second Today and click on Second Today. First time you open it you will either get a blank screen with a message at the top saying invalid layout or you will see the Second Today settings window. If you see the few lines of text at the top of an otherwise blank screen then simply touch on this message and it will open the Weatherpanel settings screen. If you see the Second Today settings window it means that the ST settings haven't 'stuck' during the install so you need to do the following before proceeding:
7.1. On the plugins tab check the box beside Weatherpanel and make sure NO other boxes are checked
7.2. Still on the plugin tab check 'Use Custom Background' and then browse to whatever wallpaper you want for your main WP screen - don't use anything too light as some of the text won't show up!
7.3. On the display tab delete any text in the Window-Title box
7.4. Check the box beside 'Disable Command Bar' - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Once you have made these changes click on the right softkey to accept the settings and you will be taken to the blank screen with the few lines of text at the top (touch on the text at the top of the screen), or directly to the WP settings window.
8. You then need to set up Weatherpanel by doing the following:
NB There is no confirm or back softkey in the WP settings screen so once you have entered all you need to on a certain screen you need to press your hardware back key to return to the previous screen or to exit settings altogether.
8.1 Add your cities (NOTE - WP does not utilise My Location so you have to manually enter locations you want weather info for) which is just a case of clicking 'Add New', then entering your city name in the 'Search For' box.
8.2 Once you’ve added each new city you then need to add weather images for each city (if you want weather maps to show up). If all your cities are in the same part of the world (i.e. Europe) then you just need to add the same image(s) for each city. I’m in the UK so all my cities use the same Europe maps. For more info on finding and adding weather images look HERE and try http://www.weathercharts.org/ - thanks again Troed
8.3 Once you’ve added all your cities and images click on the Display tab. The theme, icon set and layout are all already preselected by the cab install. You do however have a choice of six possible DDT layouts to select from in the Layout dropdown list (V2+, V2Mid, V2Lite in either 12 or 24hr format - see below). Select the layout you would like to try first, and make sure you select the correct version for the time format you use on your phone. If you are wanting to use the animated icons and have followed the instructions correctly to this point you need to change the Theme to the AI theme you will have in the Theme dropdown. Then simply choose your preferred layout as before, and in the Icon dropdown select the Animated icon set.
Once you’ve done this then click your hardware back key and you should then see the main WP display for the first city in your list. The left/right arrows beside the location name let you scroll through your cities. To exit the WP screen back to wherever you were simply click your hardware back or home key.
Job done
If once you've followed the installation instructions you are having any issues with not seeing the full screen, or having a scrollbar down the right hand side of the screen (and you have definitely installed the correct version of the theme for your WM version) please do the following:
With Weatherpanel open press your hardware Start Menu button. The open the Second Today folder and click on SToday Settings. In the Display tab make sure that 'Disable Command Bar' is checked. Exit by pressing the right softkey and Weatherpanel should now look correct.
About User Translation
THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH DDT V2 - NOT PREVIOUS VERSIONS
This final edition of the theme is now fully user translatable through the use of the lang.txt file attached at the bottom of this post. All you need to do is download the file, open it in any text editor (Notepad is perfect for the job) and translate the text on the right hand side of each entry. The attached sample is for German users so if you want DDT in German then simply use this file! Once you've completed your translation save the file as lang.txt and copy it to the main Weatherpanel folder on your storage card (Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel).
There are a few things to bear in mind when you are translating:
1. Please stick as closely as possible to the number of characters in the english version of each text entry as this is the text the theme was designed around and if you increase the number of characters it will mess up the look of the theme or the text may not display at all.
2. You will be limited to the language specific characters available in the fonts used in DDT (Helvetica and Helvetice Neue Thin) so probably no Chinese or Russian translations?
3. Once you have translated I apologise if some of the grammar or syntax doesn't track perfectly but again the theme is written in English and although I have done my best to break the text up in such a way that when translated it makes sense there may be one or two elements that aren't perfect!
If you do translate the lang.txt into something other than German (or if you produce a better German one than mine!) please post it in the thread with the filename lang_*language*.txt (i.e. lang_french.txt) and I will compile a library of translation files in the second post.
Dave and I also reckon there should be a prize for the most amusing English adaptation of the text - do and English to English translation but substitute where relevant for amusing alternatives (ie Snow=Jeez, it's cold out here etc...)

FAQ's in Post 2
Main screen layout options and navigation overview
V2+
V2Mid
V2Lite
There are three options for the main screen in the theme - V2+ (shown on the left above with two hide/reveal panels to play with), V2Mid (shown in the centre with the 5-day forecast permanently displayed and a hide/reveal info panel) and V2Lite (shown on the right above withboth the info and forecast panels permanently displayed). In the V2+ and V2Mid layouts the info panel is opened with the info button on the left hand side of the screen, and in the V2+ layout the five day forecast panel is opened by clicking on the five suns at the very bottom of the screen. Once the forecast panel is open you can then click on each day to be taken to a full forecast summary for that day.
Most elements on the main screen are clickable as shown above, and in each subsequent screen you will find a shortcut navigation panel on the top right of the screen allowing you direct access to anywhere else in WP you might wish to go. In addition, wherever the moon appears in the theme you can click on it to be taken to the Lunar Schedule page. It would take me forever to explain the function of every element in the theme, but as they are all very intuitive and each screen is fully self-explanatory I'll just let you play around and discover it all for yourself! You can't break it by playing around too much so have fun! As a rough guide however the various screens are as follows:
Main screen - contains all relevant current weather data (with info panel open), 5 day overview (with forecast panel open, sunrise/sunset times, local time for location selected, current moon phase, current temp, etc
1 - Current conditions screen - gives a bit more detail along with a 24 hour combined temp/rain chart
2 - 10-day summary page - each day is clickable to access the main forecast page for that day
3 - Lunar Schedule - with current and next moon phase info
4 - Charts page - four hourly/daily charts showing forecast max/min temp, precipitation, windspeeed and humidiy
5 - Full forecast page - Day and evening forecasts for the selected day, plus moon info
6 - Radars page - where web weather images, traffic cam images, etc you specify in your radars.txt appear and can animate. The player buttons are hidden when you first open an image page - to open the controls simply touch and hold on the image for a second or so and the buttons will appear.
If you are in Europe then you can download the attached radar.txt file and overwrite the one in the Weatherpanel folder on your storage card as it contains several more Europe radar image URLs.
Hope this walkthrough helps anyone else out there as thick as me to get there a lot quicker than I did! Now I have four questions for the clever people out there to do with things that would make it better but which I have no chance of finding a solution to on my own:
Any questions/suggestions please feel free to ask.
Enjoy
One word of warning - WP can be pretty data intensive so beware! I have two cities and four weather images and the update size is around 1MB, so if I have it set on hourly updates I can easily hit 10MB+ each day. I only hook up on wifi at home and work so not a problem, but if you are using mobile data you may want to keep an eye on it.

FAQs
FAQs & Add-ons
City name cut off or overlapping left/right arrows - When you search for your city in the WP Add City screen it will appear in the Name box at the top of the screen as City, Country. In a lot of instances this will make the name too long to fit on screen in the space I have allowed. All you need to do is edit the City name in the Name box at the top of the screen to either remove or abbreviate the Country or State name and it should now fit. Also if you cannot find your tiny village in the search then just search the nearest large town, select it and edit the name in the top box to that of your village.
Can I use other WP icon sets - No. I have edited the Diamond VGA icon set, which has included adding in some missing ones and creating a full new set of resized moon icons. The theme also uses 5 different sizes of icons which other sets will not necessarily have.
Does it work with My Location - No. I am hoping someone far cleverer than me may pick this up and find a way of making it work but I'm afraid this is far beyond my meagre skills!
Animated icons? - Davej is currently working on an animated set of the main screen icons but at present the set is about 120Mb+ and slow to run so don't hold your breath - it may take some time!
Scrollbar showing on right hand side of screen - Either you are using a 6.5 ROM and have not followed the instructions for overwriting the 6.5 optimised files, or you have not followed the last instruction in Step 9 to Disable Command Bar in Second Today settings
Multiple city images overlapping when switching between cities - HERE - Thanks fmlarsen
Waiting for storage card error message - HERE - Thanks scandiskfr
Get rid of annoying beeps and alert noises - HERE - Thanks davej
To add additional weather images - Search online on your PC for current weather forecast for desired location. Once you've found a weather map/satellite image/radar image/etc that you want to use right click on it and select properties. Then copy the URL from the properties box. Open the radars.txt file from your WP folder using Notepad on your PC. You then need to add a name for the image, then hit enter and on the next line paste the URL (it'll make sense when you open the file!). Note - quite a few of the good looking weather images you'll find will be flash so you won't be able to incorporate them. Also try http://www.weathercharts.org/ and look HERE for more info Troed has posted on this
Sunrise/sunset times not showing correctly in 12hr format - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SELECTED ONE OF THE 12hr LAYOUTS IN THE DROPDOWN LIST
LITE version - If you would prefer to have the two popout panels (info and 5-day forecast) permanently displayed on the main screen there are two layout options in the theme folders available for download in the first post. Open WP settings and select DDT_Ultimate_V1Lite in the layout menu.
For Lite users - if you would prefer not to have the semi-transparent background behind the info panel 996r has created a fully transparent version which you can download HERE - just overwrite to the DDT theme folder.
Changing the background on all screens - The custom background you select during the setup process for Second Today is the background that will appear on the main screen only. If you want to apply the same (or any other background image) to the rest of the WP screens (with the exception of the Lunar Schedule and Detailed Forecast screens which use specific custom backgrounds) then you need to make a background image exactly 480x788 in png format, name it bkg.png and overwrite the one in the DDT theme folder. Restart WP and there you go.
Android causing problems with Weatherpanel - Look HERE - many thanks to jaguaralani for this one You'll have to follow his instructions for both the V1+ and V1Lite wpl's if you have both in the theme folder
GPS Setting - On the Connection tab in WP Settings there is an option for setting the GPS Port and Baud Rate. This does absolutely nothing so don't bother with it. The original developer of the core WP software disappeared in 2005 and it has remained pretty much unedited since then. This was something that appears to have been being planned for a later revision but that never happened.
For US Users - In some parts of the US Weatherpanel will provide weather alerts for certain conditions. As I don't get these in the UK I hadn't thought to do anything about an alert POPUP so WP uses the one from the default theme folder which isn't very pretty! I'll have a go at putting one together but as I can't test it it will be good luck if it looks any good! In the meantime Troed has edited the default one to be a bit more readable. Download and unzip the Alert.zip from this post and copy the Alert.wpx into Storage Card>Program Files>Marsware>Weatherpanel>Themes>DDT Ultimate

I don't think so. The closest solution would be one similar to here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563150 - where you'd need to use MTP or similar to add a new tab in manila then deselect Sense weather tab in display settings. You'd then need to find the right bit of the registry to edit for CHT to then send you to the new tab when touching on the home tab weather element?
I didn't want to do this as it seems like far too much hassle and the solution above is really easy to implement.
Thanks a ton. Great instruction. Only problem: The Name of my city in the main screen is cut on both sides (as if it was too long), but there is still a lot of space to the edges of the screen. Any suggestions?
super, but, can i have this app in one .cab please, i'm geek ;p
thank you
I have followed everything step by step multiple times but when I get to the step to choose the layout, I don't see the option on the drop down for Phat+265.wpl, any ideas on this? Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Thanks for a great walk-through

I had this too, sorry forgot to mention it! Basically I found that when you go into WP settings to add or edit one of your cities you just remove the country name from after the city name in the very top box on the screen, then just hardware back key and it is saved - job done!

Yes it does as it is not integrated in Sense and therefore dependent on the SenseVersion or something (like the Sense-Tab-Integrated-Version you might have seen somewhere). This Proggi is fully based on SecondToday which should even run on WinMob2003

pretty cool.. good job.. hopefully a cab will be issued

I have made my first skin, It has a Microsoft Windows Coudy Desktop look to it, See the screenshot below.
Features :
*Transparent Icon Bar at the top - this allows the background more room to breath.
*Smart monitor - keeps a list of last used application on desktop, this way your most often used apps are easy accessible and you need not go into menu to get to them.
*Fizzweather - keeps a 5 day weather broadcast on your desktop.
*Missed Calls, Emails, SMS
*Appointments - Shows any upcoming appointments you have.
*Comcentric - Nice bluetooth and WIFI icons, also gives a nice little configure/switch on or off menu.
*both LANDSCAPE and POTRAIT screens
Anyway, i made this using Homescreen designer, and ofcourse then i manually added to the template tweaking this and that for a few days.

The ROM follows the principle of getting rid of unnecessary items in the Windows Mobile 6.5 source files in order to make as much RAM available on my Kaiser as possible after the installation of WM 6.5. However I didn't want to 'cripple' features that I needed/wanted to have installed.
The result is a ROM that uses about 32 MB of RAM while the Kaiser is idle (and before you install your own applications). That means that you will have close to 70MB of free RAM with this cooked ROM. The size of the cooked ROM flash image (the NBH file) is: 51 MB, leaving 154 MB of storage space available on the Kaiser.
What I may consider 'unnecessary files' may not be considered the same by others. Therefore I am listing the WM 6.5 items that I removed so that you can determine if this cooked ROM fits your needs. I am also enclosing a folder titled "XXXX- Kitchen Removed Sources.zip" which will show you EXACTLY what was removed. If you miss one of the removed items, simply move it back (to the same directory) and cook a ROM.
** General overview of what was removed:
- All of the non-essential OEM and EXT applications which normally ship with "Os Kitchen". I left only the OEM and EXT items which I found to be necessary for the normal operation of the ROM on the Kaiser. If through your own testing you find that one or more are unnecessary please let me know (as I would want to get rid of it as well!)
- Ringtones and other sound files which are not necessary for the normal operation of the ROM (if you miss one or more of those files you can easily put them in an SD card and access them from there)
- All files (CPR, Images, etc.) that relate to a resolution that is not supported by the Kaiser.
- The 'Calculator' application because there is plenty of great calculators for WM PPC out there, and I don't like to have software duplication.
- All "Windows Live" related stuff, because I don't use it.
- All 'games' that come with WM 6.5 because I don't use them, and there is much better games in the marketplace.
- IPSEC related files because I don't use that type of 'virtual tunnel'.
- LiveSearch because I prefer Google.
- Unnecessary Mobile Office templates
- Remote Desktop (because I don't use that software. I prefer RDM+, which I install separately...not in the ROM)
- Task Manager (because I prefer to install Advanced Task Manager...separately, not in the ROM)
- Skybox (because I don't use Microsoft 'My Phone' and related services.)
- Skymarket (because I don't need a software store on my phone)
- All Themes except for 'Classic Blue' (because I prefer to install my own themes...separately, not in the ROM)
- VOIP (because no VOIP application comes with WM 6.5, and VOIP applications like Skype work without these files. So they seem to be a waste of space. If anybody disagrees and can explain the purpose of those files please let me know.)
- Welcome Center (Because I am experienced enough with WM 6.5 that I don't need somebody to guide me)
- All Windows Mobile Widgets (because I prefer to install my own ....separately not in the ROM).
- Zip viewer (because I prefer to install my own compression/decompression software)
- Microsoft Auto Data Configuration (before I don't need MS to configure my data. I do that manually).
- Lock Screen Media player icons and images (because that feature of WM 6.5 has not been enabled by Microsoft yet)
- Time Bomb removed. You can enjoy this ROM for as long as you like.
*****
In addition to the file removals that I describe above, I made a few changes which apply to BOTH Chocolate and Vanilla Flavors of the ROM.
- I changed the boot screen back to the original HTC screen that says "smart mobility"
- I changed the animation screen back to the original HTC screen that has an animated HTC logo
- I changed the boot up sound to one that uses aprox 100K
- I changed the Windows start up screen to that of Windows Mobile 7
- I added software to fix the animation start up sound (which didn't work in the original build)
- I added software to fix the animation boot up screen (which was mixed with some other stuff that I removed)
- I added a registry entry that changes the default skin on Windows Media Player to Diamond Portrait.
- I added code to install 'Random Access' in the Contacts Screen. (allows quick access to people by clicking letter on the right margin)
- I added code to change the Start menu to a single column vertical list. I consider that MUCH more useful than the hexagon grid.
- I added a registry entry to remove the 'tap time' that is required when selecting items in WM 6.5 folders.
- I added a registry entry to allow two way phone conversations to be recorded with any 3rd party software.
- I added a registry entry to display 'Recording' in the phone menu (shows up in the menu only during a call)
- I fixed the Windows Start, X, OK buttons on the bottom toolbar (because Microsoft used the wrong size).
- I fixed the lock screen background wallpaper alignment.
- I changed the lock screen layout so that the scroll button is at the bottom and the time/appointment at the top.
- In addition the "Chocolate" flavor has these changes:
- Replaced the battery indicator for one that shows the percentage remaining (in increments of 10%), and changes color (White/Orange/Red) depending on the amount of battery remaining.
- Added Advanced Task Manager
- Replaced regular Comm Manager with a 6 item Comm Manager to replace the 3 item one that comes standard with WM 6.5

NOTE: For those who do not like the Chocolate or Vanilla flavors, I am making available the source files so that you can make any necessary changes to suit your taste. All my changes are in the EXT folder and are clearly labeled with "-PW" after the folder name. So you can choose to keep them or remove them based on your personal needs.
And here is an Spb Benchmark test on a fresh copy of this ROM. I don't know if this type of tests are trustworthy, and I have no benchmark to compare it with. All I can say is that the OS feels very fast and responsive. Don't base yourself on the benchmark. Try it and see if it works for you. It does for me.
Here are the files:

Enjoy!
IMPORTANT: The only thing that I ask in return for my contribution is that if you find more space savings you share them with me. I left several items in the OEM and EXT folders because I know for a fact that some of those items ARE needed for the correct functioning of critical features such as movie file playback. However some of those items may not be necessary. If you find out that they are not necessary, or you find other files in the SYS folder that could be removed without affecting performance, please let me know by posting a message on this thread.
Tips:
- After the ROM loads, go to phone settings (Start-Settings-Personal-Phone) and in the "Phone" tab select the Ring Type that you want to use. You can put Ringtones in any folder of your Kaiser and they will appear in the "Ring Type" pull down menu. I put them on external storage (SD Card) under a directory called "My Ringtones".
- Missing MMS Options. Standard Builds of WM 6.5 DO NOT come with MMS. To get MMS read other threads such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500869.
- HTC Task Manager missing. The source files do not have the HTC task manager and I don't like it anyway; so I purposely didn't install it. If you want the HTC task manager please install it on your own, or cook your own version of my ROM.
- OEM/EXT folders - If you cook your own ROM using my files, you will be able to identify what OEM/EXT packages were added by me, because I follow each package with "-PW". Packages that do not have "-PW" came with the osKitchen, and they appear to be necessary for the proper functioning of the ROM, but I am unable to provide an explanation since I didn't put them together. Contact OndraSter (the maker of osKitchen) in case you have a question about an OEM/EXT package that do not have "-PW" after it.
- Aligning Screen - After you install the new ROM, remember to align the screen. You can do that here: Start - Settings - System - Screen and align your screen from there.
- SIM Manager - Left out on purpose. If you want one, read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2&postcount=79
- Missing 'owner information' in settings / personal. (ONLY applies to version 1 of this ROM. I have fixed this in version 2 of the ROM). This application was disabled by Microsoft, but fortunately you can enable it with a simply registry trick. Enabling this is critical as many 3rd party applications won't register properly without the owner information.
Remove the "Redirect" value in the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner]
- Missing 'Input' in settings / personal. - This application was disabled by Microsoft, but you can enable it with a simply registry trick.
Remove the "Redirect" value in the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input]
- Migrating all your programs and settings - To migrate all your programs and settings use spb backup 2.0.2. Just make a backup of your Kaiser just before upgrading to this new build of WM 6.5, and after you install the ROM go to the place where you saved the backup and execute the file. Soon after you execute the backup file spb Backup will tell you that your ROM doesn't match and suggest that you use the "upgrade ROM" feature. Do it. If the restoration gets 'stuck' don't worry, it is normal. Just soft reboot your device and execute the same backup executable. This time it WILL finish. That's it. WARNING - DO NOT include Resco Keyboard Pro in the restoration. Resco keyboard is incompatible with build 23034 of WM 6.5 (see 'Known issues) below.
Disable Magnifying Glass - (ONLY applies to version 1 of this ROM. I have fixed this in version 2 of the ROM). If you find the new magnifying glass annoying (it pops up every time you double click) you can disable it with the following registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\MAGNIFIER]
"Enable"=dword:0
- Lock Screen (ONLY applies to version 1 of this ROM. I have fixed this in version 2 of the ROM). - If one receives more than 2 notifications the slide buttons for SMS, VoiceMail, Missed Call, and/or Email overlap with the main unlock button. To solve this issue you need to install a new lock screen layout file (cpr file). This issue is solved in version 2, so I suggest you upgrade; or if you know how to replace the lock screen cpr file download the source files for version 2 and replace the file in your PPC. This is for advanced users so I won't explain how to do it. You either know it, or you should upgrade the whole ROM.
Known Issues:
- Small Fonts get blurry on Titanium / Today Screen, and sometimes images on Today Screen plug-ins (such as Artesea Twmr 6.5r) get distorted. - This issue has been confirmed by other people cooking WM 6.5 23028 regardless of the cook or kitchen used. It seems to be an issue related to the Microsoft code, and I am unable to fix it. ---> Applies to both version 1 and 2
- Dialog boxes of WM 6.5 have an unfinished selection circle as stated by me in the following post (picture also available) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4385259&postcount=434 ---> Applies to both version 1 and 2
- Sashimi 8.0 Auto function doesn't seem to be able to select the storage card during the auto install process of cabs, which results in all software being installed on the main memory of the Kaiser. This is provably related to the 'under the hood' changes that Microsoft incorporated in this build ---> Applies to both version 1 and 2
- spb Keyboard Pro 5.22 - This new build of WM 6.5 is NOT compatible with spb Keyboard Pro v. 5.22. The installation seems to go OK, the logo on the toolbar changes to the spb keyboard logo, etc. However the keyboard can not be opened and other windows mobile 6.5 build 23034 applications stop working such as file manager. ---> Applies to both version 1 and 2
Version 2 - Bare WM 6.5 build 23034 ROM:
Version 2 of this ROM fixes some of the bugs that were reported earlier. You can find out what was fixed by reading the "Tips" and "Known Issues" portions of this thread.
In addition to fixing the issues documented there, I have made the following changes:
- Removed "Advanced Task Manager" from the Chocolate version (the vanilla version never had it), because the new task manager that comes with this build of WM is very good. This also offers you the possibility to add a task manager that fits more with your taste (in case you don't like the one that comes with this build of WM 6.5)
- Reduced the size of the battery indicator that I include with the chocolate version (the Vanilla version never had it). Now it only uses about 11 KB instead of almost 500k before. Since that program is running all the time, this improvement alone saves almost 1/2 MB in RAM usage on version 2 of this ROM. The functionality remains the same It shows the percentage remaining (in increments of 10%) above the graphical depiction of the battery, and changes color (White/Orange/Red) depending on the amount of battery remaining. I have tried many other battery indicators (including some that have the percentage inside the battery) and this is the one I like most.
- Replaced the Start Menu button with a color version instead of the white one that I included with version 1. Below I am enclosing a screen shot so that you can see what it looks like. The rest of the ROM looks exactly like it is depicted in version 1 above (except for the advanced task manager which was removed from all flavors of the ROM).

Eagerly Awaiting
Waiting to try this rom, since it has so much available RAM and ROM.
thank you
Thank you for this ROM and moreover for your PM. The reason I am waiting to try this ROM is cause, after having tried all the ROMS, have noticed there always is some stuff I do not need. Tried cooking, but unable to make much progress. Have always wanted a ROM without windows live messenger, windows search, skybox and all that windows crap.
Just a suggestion, though, if you could include the other battery icon, the one in which the percentage shows inside the battery. Only a suggestion though, which you could consider. The percentage figure is a little larger and so easier to read. Am attaching the cab.
Also, there is this new MOTO today screen, have you tried that?
Am downloading your ROM now, will post comments, if any.
Thank you once again.

I like the idea of having a battery meter that has the percentage inside. However I like the fact that my current choice changes to orange when it reaches about 40%, and to red when it reaches 20%. Can you point me to the source page where you got the cab file you sent me to see if they have the one that is white until it reaches 40%, then orange until it reaches 20% and then red?

I have never heard of the MOTO screen. Can you point me to it so that I can check it out? I have to say that I am quite happy with Titanium, so the MOTO screen would have to be darn good for me to consider it.
aaaaaaabbbbbb
mortifying,
I posted this new ROM only today. So if you had problems with a ROM last night, then it must have been some other ROM and not mine.
This ROM works well as long as you do not try to restore your settings from previous ROM using spb backup. For some reason the "rom upgrade" feature of spb backup doesn't seem to be possible with 23034; I guess Microsoft changed a lot of the registry entries.
If you restore your settings with spb backup you will experience erratic behavior with 23034; but it has nothing to do with the 23034; it has to do with the restoration process which messes up the registry entries.
moto home screen is quite good the only draw back is the ram it consumes, about 17mb, so ya its pretty and all but thats alot of ram

That's a no starter for me. I cooked these Bare ROMs because I want to maximize RAM and get rid of stuff I consider 'junk'; so using 17 MB for a Start Up screen is out of the question for me. Back in the WM 6.1 days I used spb shell 3.01, and I liked it; but the Titanium screen is quite powerful when used with plugins and I am quite satisfied by it. In combination with my modified start menu it fulfills all my needs. The only thing I don't like about the Titanium (today screen) is that the small fonts get a bit blurry over time.
btw i think you misunderstood me XD, moto home is a replacement for titanium, not a home screen image, if thats what you think im referring too

I looked at your your battery meter suggestion and I like the idea of having the percentage inside the battery but your proposal uses a dll file which is inefficient, as it has a bunch of icons that do not pertain to the battery meter.
I found another battery meter with the percentage inside the battery where the dll is only 50K (instead of 1174K), so I am going to consider using that one; but before I roll it out I will have to edit the icons so that from 40% to 20% the icons are orange, and then from 20% to 0% red. I like that visual clue.

Isn't spb shell also a titanium replacement? Anyway, regardless of whether it replaces or sits on top of titanium there is no way I am going to install something that consumes 50% of what the whole operating system consumes when it is on idle.
well its just like m2d, regardless i was just answering your question about you not knowing what moto screen did or what it was, and now you do =)

Hi Witschey, thanks for this new ROM.
Maybe a noobs question, but anyway, is it time bombed?

Previous versions:
Typoclock_R5
I have added a new layout named "personalize" in which all the elements of typoclock are linked to the registry values (CHT.Typoclock.XXXX) it means that hours, minutes, colon, daydate, weekday, month & AMPM can be moved, resized, coloured, and shown or hidden, also month and weekday can be shown in upper or lower letters.
So you can easily redesign your own typoclock, or just adjust the position of the elements after change the font (typoclock.ttf) The new version of typoclock keeps the same variables and previous layouts (white, black, blue, yellow & green) If you want to install it be sure to uninstall previous verssion.
Hi friends, with the help of mncessna & preston74 i have made this widget for Co0kie Home Tab 2.0 (CHT2.0) similar to android typoclock
IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL CO0KIE HOME TAB 2.0. This widget does not work with previous versions
1) It is done on the base of the Co0kie CHTAddon Digital Clock, but the time & calendar is text string, with the same font of the rest of Sense (Helvetica Neue OTS). The graphics files still are there but are not seen (100%transparent). I hope to get' em out in future versions to make the code much clean.
2) So it would be easier to change the color with m9editor. I want to publish in 2 colors white & black. done!
3) I have to solve also the issue of the languaje, months are always in English! done Thanks a lot to MoonNah for the new code
4) The weekday I would like to have full names. done Thanks a lot to MoonNah for the new code
5) I have move a bit the elements, please feedback if fit better now. The dayweek in English start with capital letter so it could go a bit lower still.
6) For future verssions we could try everything graphics (qtc) even month, dayweek, year, etc instead of text string. It will be much more skinneable.
7) should work correctly in 24h & am-pm. done;
8) Added a cero when date number has only a digit.
9) It is resizeable & pinneable.
10) Shoul be compatible with windroid digital clock & Poy2BinaryClock. done
11) In future version will try to add some colors into the widget, as diferents layouts. done
12) More things to do: to add blinking dots every second done; to make it biggerdone; to add alarm; to add own font; ...
Link for the widget kitchen: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10718996/Poyensa Public Cab/typoclock/typoclock_r4_kitchen.zip Feel free to do any change to addapt it to your own theme.
Thanks a lot to mncessna, preston74, rat_2665 & moonNah for the files -all credits must go to them, dunc001 & mike2nl for the feedback and test, and always to co0kie monster for the CHT 2.0!
If you like blinking dots be sure to switch on show second hand in CHTEditor - widget setting - clocks - show second hands on. If you want to disable blinking dots just disable that option. (thanks to rat for adding this code in the original code, and dunc001, mike2nl & m0nkeyman for tests & feedback)
rev 03.11.2010: added a cero when hour has only one digit; added black color
rev 05.11.2010: added blinking dots (made by mncessna); added am-pm; biger up to 175%, added CHTS
rev 06.11.2010: 4 colors into the widget (black, white, blue & green)
rev 07.11.2010: i think i finally got out of all the graphics files. This version should be compatible with others digital clocks (windroid-binary-silver-co0kie)
rev 07.11.2010: added typoclock with am/pm in the middle of the two dots.
rev 08.11.2010: The typoclock includes background from the very begining, but i did not included in the cabs. If you wish to have BG copy the attached file 3953C628_manila in windows folder.
rev 11.11.2010: Thanks a lot to moonNah for the new code. Now typoclock is displayed in your own languaje!!! try typoclock_r3.cab
rev 23.11.2010: I have referenced the font of typoclock_r4 to typoclock.ttf in windows folder, so any new font you want to use just change the name to typoclock.ttf and copy and paste in windows directory, accept overwritte, and softresset (some times is enough restart sense only) Then typoclock will use this new font without any interference with the rest of sense/WM. Maybe you will need repositioning the items afetr the change of the font, you can do it following post#2. I have included in the _r4 cab the font displayed in the screenshot, so by default is HelveticaNeueOTS.ttf. I am not used to work with differents fonts, and sometimes behaviour is erratic, but this is working for me and i hope it also works for you I will upload some other fonts in post#2 and you can find many in this thread (thanks to Major_Sarcasm for this) and also in Google search
this screenshot is Jott.zip, copy the file typoclock.ttf from inside Jott.zip to windows folder and softresset. Be sure to install _r4 previously.
Try also Typoclock 3D made by MoonNah in post#105

Sorry, i should have adverted in big letters: UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS BEFORE INSTALL THE NEW ONE!!!
ATTENTION !!! If you want to have more than 10 widgets installed you need to have this file 7c60907d_manila copied in your \widnows directory, as explained in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9565725&postcount=3353
1 - small trick: put your device in DevMode
If you wish to modify any widget is very hard to get the files, compile, put into the cab, install, see that is not enough changes so you have to uninstall and start again.
Co0kie has a DevMode for easy test the widgets:
0) EDIT sorry forgot the very begining: conect the device to your PC via USB and synchronize
1) uninstall the widget you want to modify
2) run the file z_init.bat
3) put the device in DevMode. Go to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.DevMode and change to DWORD =1 (create if does not exit)
4) do the changes in the widget files in workspace folders, remember to save after finish.
5) run the file _Deploy_to_device_in_dev_mode.bat. It will pass the files to the device and will restart sense. If the widget is not displayed you will have to activate it in the CHTMenu>edit mode>add new element
6) repeat 4 & 5 as much as necessary
7) once you finish run file _generate_files_for_cab.bat and will get the compiled files in folder /cab/_final_files ready for the cab.
8) Do not forget to dissable DevMode once you finish and before install any new widget (HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.DevMode DWORD =0)
My advice is to create a baseline, an initial working workspace. Once you do a change and it works, go for the next (step by step). Always have a backup. And enjoy!
We will help as much as we can, but please understand this is developers mode It may crash your sense so be ready to hard resset if something is wrong. CHTS can help
2.- HOW TO MOVE THE DATE, WEEK, MONTH, ETC TO ADDAPT THE WIDGET TO YOUR OWN FONT
WITH TYPOCLOCK_R5 NO NEED TO EDIT THE FILES WITH M9EDITOR, JUST USE THE REGISTRY
When you use diferents fonts the typoclock may suffer problems of alignment, but this can be solved easily as all the elements of the widget (date, colon, month, etc) can be moved by editing the mode9 file. You can find some examples of how to edit mode9 files in this 2 threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688002
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691638
But the mode9 files of any CHT2.0 widget has no fix name, it takes the proper name in the process of installation, which depends of the slot asigned. So this edition has to be done before install the widget. Do we need to download the widget kitchen linked in #1 but we will only work on the file CHTmode9_manila located in the folder CHT2.0_typoclock_kitchen.zip\cab\_files_final
1) So extract the kitchen in a proper directory then open m9editor (is in the kitchen \CHT2.0_typoclock_kitchen.zip\Tools\M9Editor\m9editor.exe) and select as working directory the folder \_files_final then open the file CHTmode9_manila
2) We have to find the <objects> Type= "GLESText" for the edition, then modify the property position value X= ___ Y= ___ (X horizontal - Y vertical; never touch Z) of the element (poy2weekday, typoclock_colon, etc) we want to modify the position in pixels. Change the values in the yellow boxes the click OK button. Once the positions are modified save mode9 file, accept overwrite.
3) Now we have to put this modified file into the widget cab, I use WinCE cab>cabinet>files>add then select the file CHTmode9_manila from folder \cab\_files_final, accept replace (I really do drag and drop), and finally file>save
4) Nothing else, just put the cab into your device and install the widget. You have to uninstall previous versions before install the new cab. Please post some screenshots here to see your modified typocloks
I am uploading some fonts that i have used for typoclock_r4. Inside every cab there is a file typoclock.ttf. Copy & paste in windows directory, accept overwrite & soft-resset.
cool thanks
think im gonna have to give this a try
after i restarted my phone it looks like this now
any ideas what i did wrong lol
Jesus poyensa,
we can't stop you. This is also dream stuff. There was someone who was searching for this. I will look in my posts and will link it to here. Thank you for this and my respect and you have done it
Edit 1:
i have found it back here...
Edit 2:
and here is the link to iiiiiiiphone lockscreen
nice widget/addon
i been using typoclock on my droid tablet and this is a great idea.
amazing work buddy.
black looks also cool
Thanks kamerius for the feed back, i have to check the fonts used, have you modified yours previously? I will have a look to this thread and play a lil ... Also I will add a cero when the hour is one digit for better fitting.
Oh, I forgot the incompatibility with windroid as we used the same poy2 digital clock for that theme ... have you installed previously windroid digital clock? I apologize for the inconveniences. Will be also fixed.
Thanks a lot mike & kjhadfield for your nice words

i havent changed font or installed windroid
take your time
looks absolutely fantastic. love it for my lockscreen. great job!
Firstly, I would like to say thank you VERY much for your time and effort. It is greatly appreciated.
I have a few comments/questions.
When I install I get the error:
There are no more CHT widget slots available. Uninstall an addon widget to free up a slot. When I click ok I then get: An error occcured during the uninstall.
Nothing happens, it doesn't install.
1. Can this be installed without CHT 2.0? I onyl have 1.8.5
2. Can the test be larger like the link to go 'off screen?
3. How can I install it as a lock screen, stand alone only?
Again, from the screen shots I have seen it looks amazing. Well done.
Thank you so much for making this! Really cool
Loving the look of the widget, However given the amount i swap my wallapaper, one colour or the other usually winds up out of place. is it possible to get the black and the white in the same widget, as different styles we could flick through?
omg=.= i love this guy
Thanks a lot for all the answers & the screenshots

1. Yes it is necessary CHT2.0, it does not work with previous verssions
2. It could be, it should be a question to define the limits for the resizabe area. I will try.
3. You need CHT2.0 again. It makes possible to add the widgets where you like, even lookscreen.

It is possible but i dont have the Lua knowledge to do it yet. I keep trying and will ask for help, and will add this option in future verssions.
Excellent, thanks for clarifying.
I will install CHT once it is out of Beta. Just checked, final release is not out et.
Please let us know if you can make it stretch the whole screen, like the link I provided.
I have a feeling this will be a very popular lockscreen.
You have done a great job and should be proud of yourself.
This is really cool!
One problem though. Getting a line above the time. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but the line still persists. Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot for this guys!

The skin itself contains multiple sets of POI icons. You can change the icons individually by going to "More..." -> "Manage Places", or you can change the icons in bulk by using one of these branding.gro files:
Branding 2: http://uploadmirrors.com/download/0E8HMK0P/branding2.gro
Branding 3: http://uploadmirrors.com/download/09VUOTKQ/branding.gro
If you want to revert back to the default POI icon set (Branding 1), use the branding.gro included with the skin or simply delete the branding.gro that you are using.
To install:
Replace your original data.gro with the included one and merge the iGO folder with the one on your SD card. If you are using iGO Thin, then you don't need root and all the files can be accessed on your SD card. If you are using regular iGO, you will need to replace the data.gro located here: /data/data/com.navngo.igo.javaclient/ as well as the audio folder which will require root.

How to add custom POI's using KML files:
kusuriuri said:
a) Copy the BMP file you want to use to iGO/content/userdata/usericon
b) Massage your KML as follows--just below the header telling what version of Google Earth KML add the following:
<Document>
<name>(the name of your POI here as you want it to appear in iGO)</name>
<metadata><igoicon><filename>content\userdata\usericon\(poi BMP name.bmp)</filename></igoicon></metadata>
(it is "usericon" with no space, xda adds a space for some reason after I post)
c) Add your KML files to /iGO/content/userdata/poi
UPOI Editor will do this automagically, and for large sets of POIs at that--and it exports cleanly to KML that iGO will take natively, so I think we're fixed
Suggestions for icons--you'll need to do them in BMP format, 40x40 would appear to be the practical limit if the big "icon stacks" out of a standard branding.gro or data.gro file are anything to go by, though a lot of these are 32x32. Nmollet's PNG icons for Google Maps converted to BMP (http://mapicons.nicolasmollet.com/) work quite well in iGO once KML files have the appropriate headers, and these are just straight BMP conversions from a 32x37 PNG file.

Thanks for the skin!
Good people I am here seeking advice. I have been using iGo for a while now, I had it on my WM PDA, I then got it on my Captivate (did not make much sense since the cappy gps did not work). I was happy to put it on my AT&T SGS2. It work ok but then I found out that there was a new version for the galaxy (ver 8.4.3.179971)
I upgraded to the version, it worked very well until I tried to find a place based on POI. Thats when I found out that on this new version POI does not work.
When I access Setting->Content->Places it comes up: Inactive Content (poi/.
If I revert to ver 8.4.2.139242 everything works well.
Is there something that I need to do, some other directory that I need to put the file in for it to work?
Pretty awesome skin! Thanks
Updated to v1.4.8:
-Fixed 380x240 and 400x240 driving info.
-Fixed 2D North Up placement
-Added Regular Speed Camera Alerts. The default Speed Camera Scheme is still EUR+. If you want to switch to the Regular Speed Camera Scheme, you need to do two things.
1. First, copy the contents of the "Regular_Alerts" folder into your iGO folder.
2. Secondly, attempt to manually add a speedcamera and deselect the "EUR+" button so that it shows "Reg".
The contents of the "Regular_Alerts" folder change the icons that appear embedded in the map. The "EUR+"/"Reg" button changes the rest of the icons and changes the TTS alerts to follow the regular alert system. See the new charts.
If you are using the EUR+ Alerts, you can use the EUR+ speedcam.txt files that have been posted online by others as far as alerts 1-15 are concerned. The same goes for the Regular Alerts. If you want to manually add alerts to speedcam.txt, you can use the Type numbers I have posted in the attached charts.
By "Regular" Alerts I mean the ones used in Primo.

I created the 960 skin by grabbing the 800 skin and adjusting only the map screens. Unfortunately, it is not as simple to fix as you may think it is. In order to fix the menus, I would have to manually adjust every single element on every page, and then separately, realign all of the transitions. I would also have create all new images for some of the elements. I personally have no interest in doing it because I don't even have a 960x540 device and all of the GPS functionality is already there. If you or anyone else would like to volunteer to fix the menus in this resolution, I can guide you.
Updated to v1.4.9:
-Fixed 2D North Up Simulation
-Fixed 2D Car Arrow size
-Fixed not being able to rename Favorites with large names
-Centered the qHD menus (960x540)
Yeah, I know what I said about fixing this resolution, but I found a work around that allowed me to move large portions over. A real fix would require new icons and a whole lot of work. I hope the symmetry will at least make you guys happy.
Updated to v1.5
-Added select POI's from map browse windows. All POI's are available for selection, not just visible ones. There are two ways to use this feature:
1. In the Navigation map browse mode, if you select a point (or near a point) that contains a POI, a button will appear with the letter "i" for "information". Select the button and you will be taken to the familiar page where you can "add to favorites", "add via", "call"...etc.
2. Under "Destination"/"Add Via" -> "Find on Map", the cursor can select POI's. When a POI is selected, the address at the top will switch to the name of the POI. Press the name to get more info about the POI or to select it. If a POI is not selected, a list of nearby POI will be listed.
I had to add this before I go on sabbatical. Thank you to ausi for giving me the lead I needed to get it done. Hopefully this is it, and there are no more bugs that hamper useability. I'm getting tired of trying to stop. Enjoy!
Updated to v1.5.1
-Fixed a bug with the new POI on map feature.
-Added POI icons to map.
-Added speed camera editing to regular browse map mode.

I wish it were that simple. Because both of our skins have diverged from the original skin so much, it would require line by line editing to reposition everything. And because the same images are reused throughout the skin, whenever you update an image file, you must make sure every instance of the image is realigned. It's like a house of cards, it requires being rebuilt the start if you want to change too much. If you are up for it, I can show you how to edit the skin, but is it really worth it? The navigation page and maps are the most important parts and those are all fixed. The only change would be to make the menu pages slightly larger.
FYI, I just updated 960/854/800/400/320 to v1.5.1a
-Fixed regional bug where your iGO would fail to start on the initial install. Please keep the included voice tts file "Voice_TTS-loq-eng-us-f1.zip" as the skin will default to that on a reset to default. After the skins initial start, you can select any voice or language you would like.
-Increased speed font size for 960/854/800
Updated to v1.5.2
-Small bug fix for POI on map
-Fixed elevation for 2D North-up
-Mute state is saved on exit and restored on start
-Added the following tts-voices thanks to maury22:
DEU--DUT--ELL--ENG (UK and US)--ESP--FRA--ITA--POL--POR--SWE (sorry cdt, I couldn't find Turkish)
-Updated Bulgarian lang file thanks to bobywm
Update 800/854/960 to v1.5.2a to fix minor alignment issues.
Thanks for your work.

All three will work with North America. They are not the typical branding icons. They only change the main category icons. Try them out and you'll see.
If you want to use a branding pack made for other versions of igo, I can show you how to mod it to work with the android version, but it'll replace all of the included icons.
Thank you for the Best iGO skin!
What do you think, TMC may work via FM radio on an android?
Is native KML (poi) support possibly?

I'm not sure about the TMC, but I don't see why not. The android version of iGO does have the TMC functions built in. My skin also has the TMC element inside of it, but they have not been aligned.
I explain in the first post how to add KML files. They must be formatted as described to get their icons to show up. If you don't care about their icons, then just add the KML files to the specified folder, and they will appear inside iGO.

Thx for the quick answer!
Thank you!!!
KWGT is KLWP little brother, if you do not want animations and per second updates or just need a widget, than, this is it! Same great customization, global properties, layers, effects, complex objects, live maps and a LOT of data, weather, astronomy, world clock, rss, you name it! And you can copy objects from KLWP too!
App is available on the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kustom.widget
Or via manual download here: https://kustom.rocks/kwgt/apk
Use KWGT awesome WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor to create you own designs and display any data you need, at once and without draining your battery as many others tools do! With Kustom Widget you can create customized Digital and analog clocks, live map widgets, sophisticated Battery/Memory meters, randomly changing images, music players and much much more. Imagination is the limit.
Official XDA Threads
Kustom Komponents Gallery (AKA reusable Widgets inside Kustom)
Kustom APK Skins Pack
What's the difference with Zooper, Mycw, Buzz or UCCW??
You have Komponents which are like widgets inside widgets or reusable items inside the editor. So for example you can create a clock and redistribute it as a module for KWGT, users will just add your clock and change the options you expose (like colors and font), there are many examples online on the store already or you can check the dedicated thread above
You can download content directly from HTTP, so you can have a Google Map with the city you are in directly in the widget background if you want, or use Street View, or you can have a Komponent that does that for you like this, you can add it with one click
You have global variables, so you can set a color once and then use it whenever you like, so, when you want to change it you just change the global and it will change the color everywhere in one click, this allows users of your theme to change color easily
You can create touch actions that will hide / show elements based on touch, so you can show full weather data when someone clicks on a weather icon and then hide it automatically after X seconds
You have containers, so you can group items inside an object, move them together, apply effects and rotation to the entire group
You have built in music support, so music will work without any additional tool, no music utilities needed, it just works
You have more effects, like long shadows, morphable text, blur images and so on
You can extract colors from images, cover art or anything downloaded from the internet (like kolorette does, but builtin)
You can use formulas on any property you like, no need to use "advanced parameters", you just turn a property into a formula and then you can do anything you like
You have full support for different location, so you can apply a location to any group and make a world clock in seconds, locations are then easily accessible from the settings
You have much more functions, you can download text from HTTP, use regular expressions, parse RSS, XML and JSON, do math with dates, create timers
Much better resizing, the widget will resize automatically and touch will always work on any module regardless of the orientation
A wizard to create APK skins in seconds without any Android development knowledge or additional tool except the JDK
Last but not least KWGT is much much more battery efficient, you can check this easily with a good battery monitor like better battery stats plus, Kustom has 2 processes so you can clearly see the difference between the editor and the real widget/wallpaper service)

So unread counts are planned, for SMS missed calls and Gmail i will add a plugin if you are running android < 6.0. Whatsapp / FB and Twitter have no way to get unread counts BUT i will add notifications support so you will be able to count unread notifications. Stay tuned

Yeah sure, in KWGT you can even use SVG files for that and distribute them as Komponents, please check the "featured" section when adding a Komponent you will see many for download or search for Weather Komponents around, there are also some tutorials on the official page
Taking Zooper looks like abandonware, tryed this app. Look good, but placing text is a crime. Using Zooper you can give an area a destiny of text and regulate the max amount of lines, etc. Within KWGT I don't have real control over text items. This is a must have
Great potential....but not there yet (no buy yet). Hope it will (Love tweaking my homescreens!)

I can add the max number of lines on next release, very easy, i do not however understand the "etc", what else is missing? Also did you check the list of things that Zooper cannot do compared to KWGT? Its here. I know i am biased but i think KWGT is years ahead.
I don't doubt that Already seen some nice extra's
I also see a lot of similarites with Zooper, which makes me think it is based on in a new iteration (which makes me doubt for buying before I know it fits). It also could be a new app which uses Zooper and takes it a level further. (Seen a reaction in another thread, other people are doubting because of this). My goal: Getting the right app to do the things I want with my home screen And yours looks promising
My main problem is the widget size, compared to the text control. I understand you translate 720 to all other devices. But if I edit "my widget", it only gets a width which is maxed for a halve or third of the screen (On my Galaxy S6 using nova launcher). This makes editing harder to do. Scaling is one option, but it does not yet works practical for me (PEBKAC ?)
Also changing orientation looks like it is missing a correct scaling (widget gets wider, but it looks like it is smaller). But it changes, instead of zooper . There is also a lag when changing orientation (default redraw timer, not reacting to orientation switch).
What I like would be a text region on my canvas, which I can position and give a height (or max height) and width.
Dimensions are now based on
- Fixed width, which does not give me enough control to position multiline text (control is lost especially in the vertical)
- Fixed Font height, which results in text running out of the screen
- Fit width, which does not use the amount of space in the vertical
My suggestion would be to separate the text and text region (settings).
- Setting the dimensions: (width fixed or relative E.g. 100%, height), give the postion (fixed or relative)
- Setting the font info: How to use the region e.g. fixed font size, fill, vertical/horizontal alignment, max amount of lines/single line, (max amount of characters ?)
The etc is/was a lazy way of saying the above

This has nothing to do with Zooper, i started KLWP (and then KWGT) because i felt options on the store were really too bad in terms of resources and features and UI, so this is inspired by other widget makers (and wallpaper makers too) but completely on its own, so, you should avoid thinking about Zooper when using KWGT as its quite different on some fundamentals.
Anyway you do not actually need to buy KWGT since all features are available in the free version, but if you buy it and you feel you want a refund in, say, 1 month from now, just drop me an email, will refund.

The widget is different from the live wallpaper, in the widget with no scaling "720" means the shortest side of the widget (so the height on a 4x2 or the width in a 2x4), but you should not care about that since there is no limit on that anywhere and scaling just changes how that size is interpreted (so with scaling set to 200 720 will become 360), not sure why is impractical, it just works and scales correctly (Zooper does not even scale, if you change the widget size you have to relayout manually...). If you scale a KWGT it will redraw and adapt based on its size automatically.

You need to set Orientation to "AUTO" in the Widget settings, by default KWGT expects that your launcher orientation is locked. If you set it to AUTO it will draw properly in both orientation rearranging everything based on size, it will still have some lag, like 100/200ms depending on the complexity because KWGT will redraw everything (this is different from Zooper / UCCW they always draw both the landscape and portrait so there is no lag but they are much less efficient because you end up drawing something that you do not need most of the times doubling the resources required like RAM and CPU / Battery).

You can do max amount of characters or even ellipsize using $tc(ell, text, 10)$ for example, that will cut and if larger add "..." at the end. For everything else i think having the max number of lines combined with the fit width will do exactly what you want.
I was a zooper user for many years, and like others I began to realize that it appears to be an abandon product - certainly there were no updates for a long time.
I was looking to where to go in the future, and looked at all the similar products. KWLP (KWGT was not available at the time) appeared to be the most sophisticated of the alternatives.
I discovered that I was able to replicate all of my zooper widgets in KWLP - and it gave me even more capabilities. The only personal downside was that I prefered widgets (and the ease of placement on a page) to the live wallpaper. Then KWGT - gave me everything. In a very short time, I took all of my zooper, now kwlp items to kwgt. I now consider kwgt a complete (and then some) replacement to zooper. Bottom line, there was a small learning curve, but once past that I have everything I had with zooper and then some. On top of that, kwlp/kwgt is under constant development and super support from the developer. You can see from the responses above that he takes customer support and product quality/development very seriously. Zooper has no active development and I question if there is a future at all.
kwlp/kwgt has a very active user community on g+ (frankly I like xda forums better) - but there is alot of community and developer support.
Basically I made the switch and am very happy to have done so.

Thanks!! Happy to support on XDA too, just mention me if needed and i will try to answer ))
And welcome to Kustom!
Is it possible to backup (not export) my widget config and reapply it to a new widget?
PS, the config utility is very heavy, sometimes it loads up to 5 minutes. WTF?
---------- Post added at 09:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:57 PM ----------
One more question. Can the progressbars use a formula as a parameter? Or only fixed parameters? And can a standard progressbar (battery) use a custom number of sections?
Not bad, I try
The latest version has a strange bug. $nc(csiga)$ often freezes and constantly displays 9 (not 99!) until I lock the screen. I never had this bug on Zooper, so it's not hardware or firmware.

This loading issue has been reported by more than one user, i cannot reproduce it on my device and it does not happen on the live wallpaper version (KLWP) so i can't really understand what its going on, can you create a full bug report as explained here: http://kustom.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/615645-send-debug-data (follow the android bug report section), that will be very useful
To copy a widget into another you have 3 options:
Open the first, select all items press "copy" and then open the second and press paste
Export and then Import
Use Komponents (and export them as well)

Yeah sure, to create a formula based progress bar just do the following:
Set progress to "Custom", a new option will show called "Progress"
Select the option called "Level" and turn it into a formula
Use a formula that returns a value between 0 and 100 ($bi(level)$ for example)
Select the sections you need

This is strange, will look into it (and thanks for reporting also in the G+ community)
Hi Frank,
I am creating an IOS style status bar and it is coming up nicely but i ran into a few issues. I am using a formula to set the visibility to ALWAYS or NEVER when bluetooth, airplane mode, wifi, carrier bars etc are turned on/off. It works perfectly for airplane mode, wifi, 3G/4G etc but there is a delay of say 5-10 seconds when i turn bluetooth and alarm on/off. Is there a way to speed up the refresh rate?

So for Alarm its not currently because android does not actually "broadcast" the change, i am working on a better approach on Android 5.x or better but i am not sure that will entirely fix this.
For bluetooth it will be fixed in next release (just forgot to register a listener for that)

Great! I look forward to next release. I forgot to mention that 3G/4G [ nc(dtypes) ] also takes a while although it is usually less than 5 seconds but delay is still there.
Question: Suppose we have 3 items like shape1, shape2 and shape3. They are horizontally or vertically displayed inside a stacked group. If i set the visibility of shape2 (middle one) to "NEVER" it disappears but it still takes that space and there is a big gap between shape1 and shape3. Is there a way to snap shape3 to shape1 so there will be no gape if the visibility of shape2 is set to NEVER? This is currently causing some design issues and i can't find a way to fix this.
Cheers.
