-Change Log--04-22-2010-

-04-20-2010-
Added Version 2.0.2 of ChainsDD Superuser.apk as an extra.
Added avlock[10] as an extra
Added Version 2.0.3 of ChainsDD Superuser.apk as an extra.
-04-19-2010-
Added version 0.7 of system app version of helixlauncher2 in extras.
Added extra (for CM 5.0.6) that moves the battery percent text to the left some.
Added morph to make the battery percent text gray (RGB 145 145 145, HEX 91 91 91).
Added Google Voice 0.3.2 as a flashable .zip to place the .apk in /system/app/googlevoice.apk. You will need to go to the market and uninstall any updates if you have installed Google Voice at all from the market.
-Version 0.05.4-
Minor framework-res.apk changes/fixes.
Changed a few things to what I personally use. (Get over it, or go to my google-code, download 0.05.3, and make a morph for the images you liked from it)
Might be a few more things in here than I intended, let me know if something looks completely out of place.
Added new voice icon in search widget.
Added a morph in the morphs section to remove "#boobs" from the search widget and replace with stock "Google."
Only CM 5.0.6, will update others when new ROMs are dropped.
-Version 0.05.3-
Very small visual changes. Probably not noticeable to anyone else.
Enomther still the same, once I do some more work visually, then I'll update it.
File name has test2 in it, but it is the correct file, just didn't feel like changing the name and re-uploading the exact same file.
^^UPDATE^^
Link fixed.
^^UPDATE 2^^
Ported to CM 5.0.5.3 i.e. Music.apk from 5.0.5.3 themed.
^^UPDATE3^^
Ported to Enomther's 1.8.1 and added the few new visual changes.
Added support for MoDaCo's Vanilla Android ROM's starting with version 2.1.
^^UPDATE4^^
Ported to MCRr13, yes I ported this while sitting in an airport waiting for my vacation to begin.
-Version 0.05.2
Enomther version still 0.05.1 as it is the same visually.
Ported to CM 5.0.5.1.
-Version 0.05.1-
Made some new notification pull down images. This solved the music/call text not being visible. Also removed DownloadProvider.apk as my edits to it are no longer needed in the this version.
Fixed a status bar icon that was off some.
Changed some mms images. Kind of more biased for the black.
-03-19-2010-
Added latest Mms.apk from arctu. Really nice, using it myself.
Added morph to remove battery images if you would like to use the battery percent mod.
-Version 0.05-

Added trackball notifications in succession (version 0.4) as an extra.
-Version 0.04.8-
Ported to CM 5.0.4.1.
Still the same visually, so the Enomther 1.6.1 version still says 0.04.7.
-Version 0.04.7-
Did some more work on the search widget.
Changed the buttons out.
Changed the text boxes out.
Changed the pressed and selected images for apps.

-Version 0.04.6-
Ported to CM 5.0.4
Added new widgets to default theme.
-02-27-2010-
Added a MetaMorph file for new widgets. Will most likely incorporate these into new releases and make the old widgets into a metamorph file. Screen shots below with the link.
^^UPDATE^^
Added new widgets into theme by default. Now the old widgets are included in the morphs section. The screen shots from below have been made into the default screen shots.
^^UPDATE2^^
Put up a newer version of the metamorph for the new widgets. These are also in the ROM, but wanted to put a new morph up so that the Launcher2.apk with buttons could still get the newest version of the widgets.
-Version 0.04.5-
More pop up menu image edits. I think I am finally where I want them to be.
-Version 0.04.4-
Took various images from the Sense UI from framework-res.apk i.e. status bar images, medium pop ups, check boxes, few other various images.
-Version 0.04.3-
Updated to CM 5.0.3.
Fixed an annoying pop up image. They should all be correct now.
-Version 0.04.2-

Did some work on the pop up menus.
-Version 0.04.1-
Ported to CM 5.0.2
Ported to enomther's 1.6.1 -untested-

Named. If you know of the doom meta/drone metal genres then the name should make sense.
Ported to CM 5.0.1.
Includes the Google apps from gapps-passion-ERE36B-2-signed.zip.
Would have done more, but I have a killer headache tonight.
-Version 0.03.8-
Includes HtcCopyright.apk, Mms.apk, and Vending.apk (all un-odex-ed) from the ERE36B update.
-Version 0.03.7-
Remade the selected/pressed images. Looks smoother now.
Remade the notification drop down images.
Sorry for the quick update after 0.03.6, but I was bored and wanted to fix some things that have been bugging me.
-Version 0.03.6-
Ported to CM 5.0 Beta 5.
Added the ERE27-2 .apk's from Cyanogen's thread.
Not version specific, but added a morph that will restore the stock app icons.
-Version 0.03.5-
Includes ERE27 Google Apps.
Ugh, so many updates tonight.
-Version 0.03.4-
Added MT Gallery3D.apk that Cyanogen posted in his thread. Either flash the whole theme if you aren't one of the few people to download it yet, or if you have downloaded it, then you can just push/cp the Gallery3D.apk to /system/app/Gallery3D.apk.
-Version 0.03.3-
Black bottom part in Music.apk when showing the song that is playing. -Thanks cacheinjection-
New check box images. Well I guess I should say check circles.. oh wait... I mean x circles.
-Version 0.03.2-
Fixed Wysie 1.0r2 Contacts.apk. Sorry used the one for stock build in 0.03.1
-Version 0.03.1-
Ported to CM 5.0 Beta 3 (Sorry for the delay, work was wearing me out)
MetaMorph that will restore stock framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/battery_low_battery.png (Sorry for any offense, I have a terrible sense of humor; I blame my upbringing)
Reverted to stock calendar widget for now.
Includes a working Gallery3D.apk
Wysie 1.0r2 Contacts.apk
-Version 0.03-
Massive update.
Many .apk's themed.
Fixed some .9s in framework and music.
Grass and Nexus live wallpapers edited slighly.
New superuser icon. (I don't know who made it, I just saw it in a search, and it cracked me up)
Guess I should focus on a name now.
**Known Issues**
Calendar Widget looks like a POS. Didn't notice until after I had uploaded it and was setting up screen shots. Will get a fix up fairly soon. If you need the stock calendar widget badly then just push CalendarProvider.apk to /system/app/CalendarProvider.apk from the enomther theme template or from his 1.3 update.
Don't know if this is a theme problem or not, but the gallery will not load for setting a picture frame widget.
-Version 0.02.2-
New status bar.
New signal icons, data icons, vibrate icon, wifi icons, voicemail icon, alarm clock icon, usb icon, bluetooth icons, data sync icon, and battery icons.
Reverted Launcher2.apk images to the images used in version 0.01 for now.
Maybe other things.
-Version 0.02.1-
Black status bar with white text. Thanks to Enomther for this. Massive thanks.
Would have done more but have to leave for work in like 10 minutes, so it was a quick fix.
-Version 0.02-
Fixed some .9.png's in framework-res.apk and Launcher2.apk
Redid Launcher2.apk some.
Redid some status bar icons.
Few more framework-res.apk images.
Few .xml edits.
Probably a few more things I forgot.
-Version 0.01-
Most of framework-res.apk done. (A lot of stuff here.)
Launcher2.apk - search widget and a few other things
Music.apk - music widget and other things.
Settings.apk - power control widget and other things.
GenieWidget.apk - News and Weather widget and app.

Move Battery Percent Text to the Left
Moves the battery percent text in CM 5.0.6 to the left some. Looks more centered with the battery icon that comes with this theme when using the morph to make the battery percent text gray.

Google Voice 0.3.2
This installs it to /system/app/googlevoice.apk (which is there anyways if you flash the theme since it has the ERE54 googlevoice.apk in it). You will need to go to the market and uninstall any updates if you have installed Google Voice at all from the market.

TrackballWake and TrackballSkip
Read up on this amazing mod here. It includes the battery percentage in the battery icon, but it isn't really visible right now because the color of the text is white. I will look for a way to make the text black for the battery percentage, but if I can't find a way, or if a way isn't made available, then I will work on a new battery icon.

I did the images a few days ago, but didn't really like the way the phone icon looked warped, it doesn't look like that in the images, I assume it gets stretched some where, but after it was requested, I figured I would release it.

-Morphs--All morphs should have a .thm and .xml file, so they should work with either version of MetaMorph-
Gray Battery Percent Text
Changes the battery percent text to RGB 145 145 145 / HEX 91 91 91. Makes it visible/easy to read with the battery icon that comes with the theme (enough so that I finally use that feature now). Recommended that you use the extra above to move the battery percent to the left some, so that it appears more centered with this mod. Thank you to MontAlbert for sharing his findings about framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar_icon.xml controlling the color for the battery percent text.

-How to use MetaMorph-
Step 1
Download MetaMorph from the Market.
Step 2
Download the MetaMorph file of your choice and place it on your sdcard. I have a folder on my sdcard called "morphs" where I place all of my metamorph files.
Step 3
Open the MetaMorph app, select always allow, then press allow. Select Pick theme. Go to the folder where you put your metamorph files and select the one you want to apply.
Step 4
If you want to apply everything in the morph, then select apply all. MetaMorph will then begin to run through the process of applying the images to your .apk's. This will take a while if there are a lot of .apk's to be skinned.
Step 5
Once MetaMorph has gone through the process of applying the theme, You are done. Unless you applied a morph which has framework-res.apk in it, then you will have to reboot your phone, then you are done.
-About/Inspiration-Here is my inspiration for this theme. As should be obvious from that thread, I don't care for color, so this theme will try and get rid of as much of color as I feel like. This is for my own personal taste, If anyone wants to change anything and post it feel free to.
-Disclaimer-Nandroid before flashing this so that if something goes wrong, or you want to go back to how your phone was before, then you easily can. Also, if it breaks something, and I don't know how to fix it, then I will say "Apply your nandroid," and if you reply with something similar to "I didn't make one for 'insert your reason for not making a nandroid here.'" Then I will tell you to wipe your phone, and take it as a lesson learned. Also, I am not responsible for any ill things that come from using this. One last thing NANDROID FIRST.

Maybe one day I shall have need for more room.

Good going. I don't care for colour either. If I could change anything, I'd make the top bar black and fonts white. I know I read your other post. Good job.

Ahh, so yummy, can't wait till you're able to make the fonts white - so we can get a black status bar. Nice theme so far, it seems dark is in.

the ideas and skin look awesome so far, however like the other guys, i would prefer to see an all black color scheme (the top bar mostly) with white font... mixing 3 neutrals (black, grey, white) is no bueno for me, stick to two at a time such as (font on scheme) white on black, black on grey, or for a lighter theme black on white... that is a just an opinion from a graphic designer standpoint...
big heads up, as Eclair~ said, "it seems dark is in." Well it better be in with this phone because the more black on the screen the fewer pixels in use aka more battery power... dark=sexy=more power
just my 2 cents, i cant wait to get back to arizona to pick this thing apart

Awesome man. Flashin' this right now. I'll update with how it goes. :-D
Worked awesome man. Not a hitch at all. Flashed one, then the other. How hard would it be to make a full black statusbar, hiding both the date and the time (I use Beautiful Home, so I have redundant date/times).

should just be able to open up the .zip extract framework-res.apk. open it up, navigate to /res/drawable-hdpi/ pull statusbar_background.9.png from it, make it all black with some image editing software, replace it in that location in the .apk, then adb push back to /system/framework/framework-res.apk, then reboot.

Because of the sizing of the .9.png I doubt it should have to be signed (along with the fact that it will be a single color). If you are talking about the .apk, if you are pushing .apk's to /system then you don't have to sign them.

No problem

It doesn't like me. lol
After making the edit and pushing the apk, I sat staring at the first boot screen for quite awhile. What are you using to recompress? Wonder if that makes a difference. Also, should their be any compression on the zip file that I'm making?
Sorry for the all the questions. Gotta learn somewhere. I've read through all of Stericson's guides on previous occasions, but have been wary to make anything. Messing up my phone is one thing, but I don't want to risk anyone else's.
Edit, btw. We can take this to PM or whatever you want. Not trying to hijack your thread.

Lookin good my friend, lookin good. Gonna flash and try today!

I always use 7-zip and never actually unzip anything, just add to the .zip/.apk file.
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/black_beta.zip
there is one that I went ahead and made with signing the .9.png in eclipse then signing the .zip. just flash it on top of the base theme.

Works great with Modaco ROM.
Using black status bar, much nicer than original.

Original Thread @ nexus-nation
How do we go about flashing this?
Just flash on top like with Dream/Magic ROMs?
This is for nexus only.
same question. Just bought, rooted, flash with new 1.3 add ons so far so good. still having some issues with blank black screens, tried debugging mode, still nothing, yet sometimes it works..
anyways, how do we go about adding this?
Well if you have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone also have a recovery put it on your s.d and go into recovery.
How to get into recovery:
You need to turn the phone off and turn it back on holding the track ball down, now hit the power button to go into bootloader mode. Once you do that you will see recovery hit the power button to get into recovery then your ready to flash.
I know it's for Nexus, I was just wondering if it was simply the same process we all followed with our G1's and Magic's. Thank you for response.
Hey Manup, just some feedback my good man. Seems like you're using enomther's script to flash the theme. The problem with this is, it deletes everything in /system/app and readds it. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, except some of us are pushing the corporate calendar there, so then when we flash the theme it gets removed. Would it be possible to either 1) edit the script so that it don't mess with the /system/app folder, 2) input the individual files to be deleted and readded as opposed to a *, or 3) add the MotoCAL.apk to your theme build?
Thanks for the great theme!
would love to see this ported for g1

The template *could* be updated to be very specific in what it deletes ...
But would have to call the delete command like (I dunno) 80 somethin times.
But instead of adding it exclusively to the theme ... the templates could be updated ....
I just hate seeing "Deleting Files ..." in recovery like 80 times LOL

Couldn't you just set the script to remove all of the odex files and then all of the APK's in that folder would be overwritten by yours? Just wondering if the APKs even need to be deleted first. Just thinking of options.

Yup! That's essentially what I'm suggesting ... and there's like 80 somethin .odex files to be deleted.
If that included apk's ... the number woulda been more like 150 somethin.
The update script doesn't except wildcards in the delete commands, that's the real kicker, so no "delete *.odex".

On 2nd thought ... it might be scriptable via the runcommand (or something like that) in recovery. Similar to how cyan backs up the gapps on his g1/mt3g mod.
I'll take a look at it. As that would be a much better solution than randomly including apps in themes and/or nuking the entire app and framework directories.
If I can swing it ... I'll update the templates.
~enom~
Looking great so far...
what is the name of the weather widget being used in the OP screen shot?
Beutiful widget is the clock I am using and I will be adding theme to all the apps in the app folder so thats why I did not remove ill just add the stuff in framework that supports moto apps thats the prob it wont remove apps by installing a theme if not all your apps would be gone.

probably have already tried this and not sure if this would help, or even work in that environment, but maybe a workaround? Still uses wildcard but not directly as it would replace the variable with the resulting stdout of the executed command:
for x in `ls /path/*odex`; do rm $x; done
or if everything in a dir but no wildcard:
for x in `ls /path/`; do rm $x; done
looks good, can see that some items on the notification bar are low-res, cant wait to see where you take this!
Thanks guys glad you like it I was updating my eclair rom and I am working on a new custom set of notification icons so I am working for sure on this.

*All of my modifications can also be found on brieflygeek*
I have been doing a bunch of evo modding on my free time, and have created a few things so far. I wanted to make a spot on these forums to keep all my stuff and make it available to you all. I will update this as I go.
*Please nandroid before performing any of these modifications, for I am not responsible for anything that might result. That said, I have tested every mod I release for myself and assured they work.*

Smooth sense battery mod *UPDATED 8.20.2010*
This mod WILL replace your framework-res, meaning any mods you have flashed will reset to stock.
This is a battery mod which adds many more battery images to your framework. With this, every percentage change is shown with a change in battery. I got this from an incredible port, which you may have seen, but removed actual percent as I am not a huge fan. This also includes the GPS and SYNC animated icons.
Installation
To install, just flash as you would a rom from recovery. This is tested and confirmed working on the newest fresh, but *should* work on any rom based off the new official 2.2. As of right now, this package is NOT signed, meaning clockwork will be required to flash.

Splash Screens *UPDATED 8.30.2010*
These are my current splash screens. I will update as I make more.
Installation
The files attached can be flashed through bootloader.
Boot your phone into fastboot (hold vol up key while powering phone on, select fastboot)
Now open command. To verify your computer is recognizing your phone, type
Code:
fastboot devices
This should list your device. After that, you want to unzip the file you downloaded and place it in your android sdk tools folder.
Now, back in command, change to your tools directory and enter
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash.raw565
*NOTE* you need to pay attention to the file name. I name these files as I can't have all my splash screens being named splash. You either must change the filename to splash.raw565 if it isn't already, or replace the correct file name in the command.

CM6 ANDROID THEME 9/29/10
here are some screens. Toasts, selections and pop ups have all been kept stock aosp. Credit goes to myn for the battery its using *right now*and the wallpaper and manup for the icons. Let me know what you guys think.
Now, I have slowly been adding more droid icons for ones that manup didn't include in his pack. If you notice in the screenshots, we now have torch, superuser, and carhome. I will have to release these apks on the side because obviously not everyone will have all the apps. So I will be making icons for common downloaded apps or things you guys suggest over time.

Sweet. Going to try it out.
Quick thought... do you think after flashing your framework, using metamorph to replace other bettery icons, such as mine, would be able to use all animations now? Or is there something specific you changed within the icon files?

If your metamorphs essentially replace the same framework files as mine, with the same names, then it will work. Open up the framework in that zip and all the modified battery icons will be in res/drawable-hdpi-v4.

Nice. It works now. Weird thing is the charging animations are a little weird. They were switching back between "charging" states and "Full" states. Kinda hard to explain. I'm gona tweak around a little bit to see what I can come up with.
If you don't mind, could I tweak with your framework? I don't want to take credit for ur awesome work. ^_^ I'll give u credit for the framework in any post I do with it. Again, if u dont mind.

do it! Thats why I posted it mang. enjoy
as for you charging icons, could be that you're not using as many as this mod. there are 32 icons in this framework for charging, and if I counted correctly the ones you posted contain 24? If those are the ones you're using of course.. this would explain why its possibly not finding the icons and defaulting.

Wow, what a coincidence. Persibro did this as well. I am also making a manup theme version, only mine uses the manup icons.
Great minds think alike I suppose.
EDIT: Nvm, I just realized you saw my first version of the port in another thread and that yours doesn't have the %. I think this version would be good to port to Cyanogen.
any chance these mods will play nicely with the cm6 nightly builds? i know the framework is a bit different than the 2.2 sense roms, so i'm kind of hesitant in trying this out.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the percentage display so I took it out. Im also working on cleaning the icons up a bit, because although you can't see them on the actual screen, there are some border issues. Not sure if this was the original intention, but I'm changing it
If anyone is interestd in any particular colors let me know and I can work on them.

General Info
I do not have a Droid Incredible to test this on, so I would appreciate it if someone could a.) alert me, preferably on twitter, when a new build is made, and b.) let me know if the theme I post here works.
This theme is extensive with over 2000 edited .png files and more than 35 .xml files.
There are no icons included with this theme. If you would like icons, then you can use ADW.Launcher or ADW EX download Minimalist - ADW Theme.
If you would like to donate to me for my work in this theme, then you can download the Donate version of the above mentioned theme. Search for "Minimalist Donate - ADW Theme" to find it.
If you would like to port this theme to any other device or use any part of it for your own doing, then you can download my images and edited .xml files from this post.
You do not have to ask me if you can port this or use any part of it. You do not have to credit me for any of my work in this theme.
I will not be checking this page frequently, but I will try to answer any questions posted here whenever I update the links. If you want a quicker answer, then I suggest saying something to me on Twitter (@david1171_).
This theme is for the official CM7 Nightly ROMs.
Theme Info
The widgets are transparent with white text. I recommend using a dark wallpaper.
The font included in the theme is the Ubuntu font.
If you are using Amon_RA's recovery and the theme is not applying after flashing, then you need to use clockwork recovery.

Install Instructions: PLEASE READ!!!
1. Set MetaMorph delay to around 1000 (My exact number is 1054) then press Close
2. Press Unzip/Extract new theme
3. Navigate to where you have Minimalist_Lockscreen_Icons.zip located
4. Select the file
5. Press close on the on the pop up that appears
6. Press Apply all!
7. It WILL force close com.android.phone when it applies the Phone.apk, I do not know of any way around this.
8. While the force close pop up is on the screen, another pop up menu will appear behind the force close pop up and the buttons will say either Continue? or Stop; you must quickly press Force close on the force close pop up, then press Continue? on the other pop up menu; it will then start applying the framework-res.apk
9. The device may freeze up at this point, if it does freeze up (mine did), then wait about 30 seconds, then pull the battery and boot your phone
10. Everything should be applied now
Animations by rover.prince - http://bit.ly/iejwtm
I take no credit whatsoever for these animations.
I have taken them from rover.prince's theme at the request of some users.
Here is the thread where I got the animations.
Apply this with MetaMorph.
awesome, will give this a go in a few days
You may want to consider changing the compatibility to #14, since #15's phone doesnt work.
On another note, this theme looks GREAT. I appreciate the hard work for us over here in the incredible forums =)
Updated to cm_inc_full-16.zip.
Using the minimalist theme....love it......it would be awesome if it came in a red or orange to compliment GB...or even all plain white rather than blue.....but all looks great....cheers!

I've had all white in the status bar since May last year when I first started on what has become this theme, so I needed something new. Also, since GB has the "fully" images that are normally green, I went with the blue to match everywhere else.
If you want to make the blue images white (would require least amount of work), then download the source from the OP, open it up, take out SystemUI from /system/app/ and framework-res from /system/framework/ and place them somewhere easy for you to work from. Then, go to SystemUI/res/drawable-hdpi/ open up all the white images that have blue counterparts, then use save as to save the white images as the blue ones as well. Next go to framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi/ and do the same there as with SystemUI. Next hook your phone up to your laptop/computer via usb and run the following commands:
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk .
adb pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk .
(the . will place in your working directory, so if you don't want it to go there then type the desired location)
Open up SystemUI.apk with 7-zip (or similar program), go into the res folder, then go into the drawable-hdpi folder, drag and drop your newly saved images from SystemUI/res/drawable-hdpi into it, finally close the window (if it asks you if you want to update then click yes).
Open up framework-res.apk with 7-zip (or similar program), go into the res folder, then go into the drawable-hdpi folder, drag and drop your newly saved images from framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi into it, finally close the window (if it asks you if you want to update then click yes).
Finally you need to run the following set of commands
1. Reboot your phone to recovery.
2. Make a nandroid (I only say this to cover my arse, normally I wouldn't for myself).
3. Over adb do the following commands
Code:
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk
adb shell reboot

There are a few reasons its hard to tell the difference...
The first being the bulk of that theme is my work. Sadly, whenever bgill55 is confronted he likes to gets rid of any evidence of its existence. (that was the second theme of mine he had taken without any credit, the first being the first theme for the Nexus One)
The earliest I was able to find a reference to Incognito was here
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/koush/76595-theme-black-minimalist-incognito-cm6-final.html - 09-01-2010.
Here is when I first put out the base for that theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668559 around the end of April beginning of May.
Then there is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734046
where I put out the rest of that theme. Initially released 07-24-2010.
My themes aren't the only ones he's passed off as his own, I know BlackIce for the Nexus One (by Amac25).
The really annoying thing wasn't so much the lack of credit as it was his asking of donations for it.
More fun facts, look at the 7th screen shot in this thread http://www.droidforums.net/forum/bgill55/106516-screen-shots-linear.html and compare it to the dialer screen shot in either this thread or the thread for Minimal. Also, look at components of the search widget in the 5th screen shot and compare it to the 2nd screen shot in the Minimal thread. Then look at the who he credits with making that theme. Of course he and that other guy made every part of it that is themed.
Sorry for the rant of a post, but that is really about the only thing that has aggravated me with theme-ing, which is why there is a "special disclaimer" about not wanting to credit and a donation link.
Good to know I apologize for my lack of knowledge ...really appreciate all your hard work.

I haven't used Sense since it was a new thing on my G1, so no. Also, while a good chunk of it would port easily enough, I think would be quite a few things that would have to be redone or redesigned to work with Sense.

HOLY CRAP did this clear up so much.
ive heard so much here and on df.com about the ( let me rephrase that ), "borrowing of the idea" but never really new the complete scoop of it all.
Is there any chance that this theme would work with CM6.1? I have only installed a Few ROMs and only one theme, not sure if I am willing to make the jump to Nighties just yet but I like this theme a lot.
Is there a release of this theme for CM6.1 that I just cant find?
Any way to get this to work with the latest nightly - #20?
Flashing 17 bootloops - as figured.
Can't wait to try this when I get home and finally move from CM 6.1 stable to the CM 7 nightly builds.
Great job on the theme, keep it up!
Updated to cm_inc_full-20.zip.

I've developed a theme with a black statusbar aswell. You can find it here. It may be overly themed for those just looking for a statusbar mod but the 6 bar signal mod would work well with token's mod.
i would be glad to modify the services.jar to include your work for those just looking for the look of the sense statusbar, but who would also enjoy the 6 signal bar mod
Still trying to track down the background image, or how to resize the widgets so they occupy the full width of the statusbar.
*** EDIT ***
I found where the widgets/header frame size is set, its in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/status_bar_expanded.xml
i removed the padding from the right and bottom and bam, its all sized correctly
going to send my modified XML to ihtfp69 maybe save him some time
Also i was able to add in customer banner text as per JsChaiSurf's method, i may start a new thread for that if there is any interest Cant test it for Verizon/Sprint roms cause im on Cricket and i dont get SPN / PLMN text but at least i have something displaying now on mine !!
Ill update the main post in a few with the updated morph, then ill start working on getting all the stock htc status icons possibly
I'll gladly be your Verizon lab rat. I've been wanting something to simply get away from the white status bar. I haven't had luck w/ metamorph mods working w/ Athena in the past when trying to replace the battery icon in the statusbar; is there something I may have been missing? Was able to get metamortph insatlled(w/ root permissions) and installed my mods w/o issue, but when I tried to apply them I was left w/ the toast pop-up trying to apply the battery morph for over 30min and finally gave up. Tried multiple battery morphs.

Our 6-bar should work without any further editing, as it only changes the clock text color to white(for a dark status bar, we also have one with stock black text) and signal icon set. I know we have it in our theme post but only because it came from making it for our theme, we included a separate download for those that want to keep a stock look or flash it over another theme, such as yours. In athena the icons for 6 bar are in the stock com.htc.resources.apk so nothing more than a services.jar that uses them is needed either.
Getting an error when I extract your zip in metamorph, metamorph prompt closes after spitting out the error via a toast popup.

The theme you selected is invalid because the theme control file could be missing, or is not correctly written. (contact author blah blah)

updated .zip, sorry i forgot metamorph doesn't like compression on .zip's added more context to the theme.xml while i was at it
ill be working on getting the "clear" button in the header corrected as well, and the gray bar black or non existent
i must go drink beer now
Tried your zip this time and while Metamorph finds your xml; when I apply it it soft boots the system as the warning mentioned may occur. I have white text, but no black statusbar. Tried applying it again from this current state and it spent 10+ min applying item 2(framework-res.apk) of the theme. Going to restore my latest backup and await further thoughts.

Trying again w/ 2.2. Just curious how long should this take to apply? The 1st always goes through w/p issue, but the framework-res.apk seems to take forever and never finishes; atleast in the amount of time I tend to give it(ie, 5+ min)?
---edit---
My recovery backup did not have USB debugging on allowed the framework-res.apk to go through(atleast I think so, it softboots during applying the framework apk) and I eventually come back up to a white status bar w/ white text.
Strike two.
Is there anything I can do on my end to show you my original items this metamorph theme changes?
I think flashing services.jar is the only thing that could take 5+ minutes. In my experience framework shouldn't take any longer than a normal boot
Edit: maybe token edited some jar files in framework, this could account for long boot times

Odd, the 1st half of the theme has gone through in under 10secand I've never actually seen the 2nd half finish(it never finishes or a softboot occurs) and I'm greeted w/ the norm statusbar only w/ white clock text. Which of the two actually applies the images?
Framework-res.apk
services.jar is replacing the classes.dex file(due to smali edits to get the clock color black), it could be separated out to a flash for recovery since essentially its replacing the entire services.jar file.
framework-res.apk just replaces images and 2 xml files to change the text color and span the power control widgets across the screen.
I will be out of town for the next week so i wont have time to play with it for a few, flashes fine for me
My suggestion would be to try to unzip the file manually and select the xml that way.
*** EDIT ***
I just wanted to point out, i am doing the morphs with the free version of metamorph. (Just wanted to throw it out there since hte free version is behind in features than the premium, so i wanted to make sure there wasn't a compatibility issue going on here)
Also, just to make sure, you are using Athena 1.2 correct?
Yep. Free version of MetaMorph. Stock 2.6.32.17 kernel(SetCPU running) SkyRaider Athena 1.2
Never had any luck w/ MetaMorph here regardless of ROM. Not sure what the problem may be.

odd, i just redownloaded the morph, wiped my phone, did a clean install, made no modifications to my phone other than adding my google account so i could access marketplace, installed free version of metamorph and morphed it in just fine using the steps in the first post
Im not sure what could be causing your metamorph issues
If you open the superuser app, does it have metamorph listed as allow?
Also a quick google search said if your system partition is full, it can cause metamorph to fail as well. since it is copying the framework-res file and pushing it back, it needs enough free space to do it.
Is anyone else having any issues?
Yes, I got a white clock but on the white notification bar.

[Theme] Colorized for MOST Roms, Flashable (Updated 1/15)

Thanks to the dev team at VillainROM for their VillainTheme Flasher, this is now a flashable theme that "shouldn't" have to be updated as Rom makers update their Roms (Edit: But sometimes it will). So I present to you what may be the final change to this theme. Simply download the flashable zip file for your rom in this post below, and flash it. Simple as that. If you still want to use ZipThemer, a future update makes it so the battery indication doesn't work, or you don't like the "4G" icon and would rather have the "H" icon, then I have moved the ZipThemer files and how-to to the second post in this thread.
NOTE THE FLASHABLE FILES ARE STILL UNTESTED UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED, FLASHER BEWARE!
Things to know
1) This comes from my pickings of different Themes & .pngs I've found. I haven't created any of the artwork. As stated above, I've been doing this for my phone. If you find a better icon, post a link and if I like it better, I'll add it.
2) I am not responsible if this breaks your phone. Make a backup first.
3) If you use LauncherPro Notifications & Preferences under the main menu are still grey (See 4th pic below) because these are controlled by LauncherPro, and if I edit that .apk LauncherPro Plus doesn't work <_<
4) The eye background is not included, but is attached to this post.
5) I don't recommend trying to use Metamorph with this. So far I haven't got it to work fully for some reason, but it works perfectly well with ZipThemer. Plus this themes files that will cause a FC loop with Metamorph.
6) If you want to use the clear Lockscreen that is in the last photo you must go to CM settings and select the "Rotary" style, I did this on purpose b/c some people would rather use the "Rotary Revamped" style.
What currently has changes
Framework-res.apk.............Bootanimation
Settings.apk...........................Phone.apk
SystemUI.apk........................Contacts.apk

Change Log
10/18/11 CM7.1.0.1 added. All current ROMs updated for their latest release. Added new bootanimation. Lockscreen Rings are now transparent. Removed zipthemer files.
10/10/11 CM7.1 added. Link currently in post 172 until the hosting site comes back online.
8/9/11 Flashable zip files uploaded for various roms. Removed the fonts and market mod.
8/2/11 Started adding test zip files for battery % to display every increment. Do note, just because this displays every increment does NOT mean the battery readings are really that much more accurate as far as the battery is actually at 20% and the phone displays 45%; that's all in the kernel / battery drivers.
7/15/11 Updated BatteryMod and ColorizedTheme files, changed the charging indicators around for a smoother animation. Added new image for the screenshot function (not my favorite, yes I know it’s shifted, but it’ll work for now). Added new fonts, if you don’t like them then download the droidsans.zip below and push them to your phone. Removed the dark themed market so it doesn’t override the new market. Bootanimation copy still doesn’t work. Been working a lot on a steampunk theme, between that and school I haven’t been working on this much.
6/17/11 Added Metamorph capabilities. Recommend using ZipThemer.
6/10/11 Transparent lock arc thingy added...see the 7th pic for what I'm talking about. You have to select Rotary, not Rotary Revamped in the CM Lockscreen Style settings
Reserved for future use.
Not digging the keyboard layout! But i do love having color on my phone. I dont understand the point of having a nice screen if all the themes completely black or one color, I want all the colors! Thanks for these!!

No, sorry. I'm still learning such things. Here is a link to the lockscreen png files, someone has requested those before. They are a simple drag and drop into the framework-res.apk. If you want I can upload the dialer ones too sometime.
These look great, color is awesome =) Especially when you havnt seen it for a little while
I just want to get 1 thing straight: In order to use these, You have to dl the entire nightly? So if I am wanting to update to 49, and you havnt updated to that version yet with these changes, I wont want to update until you do?
Or are these easy .zip files to simply flash after an update?
*Side Note: The charge, connection bars and wifi icons, those from an app with changed images?

As of right now this is the entire nightly, I download it from the CM servers and edit then re-upload. I want to go to a update.zip were you download the nightly and then flash this on top of it, but b/t 13 hrs of school a day I just don't have time to figure it out right now. So you can download the nightly from the cm servers, but if you want to use this theme you'll just be downloading it again. Hopefully in the next few weeks I have it as an update.zip form. 49 will be up in about 3 1/2 hrs when I get out of class.
Sweet =) I should just clean the dalvik and cache, then install this from a zip? (just double checking)
And it is much appreciated, especially on a busy schedule
Can this be ran on top of those other themes for CM7 by sonny or is this more of a replacement? (im having issues compiling his right now, its all new to me)
Clear the dalvik and the cache as you would when you are flashing a nightly, if you do that is your preference. I do, some people don't. This is the full nightly, so if you run a theme on top of it, those will override. So I guess you could say this is a replacement.
Thank You sir =) Now there's a 50... Ahh the work never stops. But it is much appreciated. I wish for easy of use purposes, I could get sonny's to work every time, but it looks like it has to be de-compiled each nightly also. So their really is now win here, just me taking your hard work. (wich i love by the way) If your doing so many custom things to your phone, you have to have flavor, in wich i commend you.
Very sexy! I like it a lot for sure.
I cant get the bars (wavy reception bars) to stay for some reason, other than that, very nice.
Edit:
NM now they stay. And this actually got rid of an issue in the applications dock. Before if you pressed on 1 for a few seconds while scrolling, about 10 of em would come up with a blue backround, it was very weird. That has stopped now though. I was also using the honeycomb theme for ADWlauncher though.
Thanks. Yeah that's the problem with crack flashing, i don't have enough time to do it I usually only get a release themed in the middle of the week if it's has a decently sized change log or something big gets fixed/added. 50 just looks like some code clean up, same for 51 so far. So 52 will probably be the next one I do. That's the reason I eventually want to get this into metamorph form, then into a theme chooser apk.
For sure! Right now though it makes a world of difference on my phone, thank you so much And Yea, i fully understand about additions per changelog. Im gonna stick with 49 until its a decent changelog regardless as i always have to change a few things back myself. With this now its a for sure.
Planning on updating to a zip file that requires you to use ZipThemer from the market. Will probably go back to the displaying battery % every 5% for this. Starting to become a pain in the ass.
Thank you! I haven't flashed it yet, but from the looks of it, this is awesome! My favorite has to be the settings screen, I always hated the greyscale icons.
Alright everyone, 52 have been uploaded. Also I have added instructions how to use ZipThemer and theme your nightlies during the week. So either use ZipThemer or wait for me to upload a colorized nightly on the weekends, your choice. If anyone has any issues feel free to ask
Check this bootanimation out, its pretty cool, I like it =) Got it from EB 2.3.4
can we just flash this over a rom, any rom? ^^^^^^^
Yea, well the CM7 ROM's. If your comming from another ROM, the usual clean and wipe first. ITs the actual CM7 build with his additions.
