Hi,
I've recently found an app called 'Tedd's Answer Call Tool - Remixed!' installed my phone. It only shows up on the incoming call screen. I can't find any way to access the settings or options for it.
I have no idea how it got installed and I've been unable to uninstall it this far - its not listed in manage applications.
I've tried searching for it and havn't found anything. Only thing I found was an app called 'Tedd's Droid Tools' which seems similar but isn't the same. I never installed that app on my phone either.
Please help...
Look to see what's running.. Use any given system tools, or adb top, ddms, whatever..
Edit......

Hi,
Searched but I couldn't find anything related to this. Just got my wife the SGS2 (AT&T). Rooted. An issue she is having which first happened with the game "fruit ninja" is after she installs it from the market, it doesn't show up in the app drawer. Eventually the app did show up (after a reboot or two) but, there are other apps that showed up immediately after installing and then disappeared from the app drawer. The apps are still installed because if you go to them in the market you can click "open" and they open without an issue. Phone is running gingerbread (not the 2.3.6 update (because of the root, was unable to update)). Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

[Cross-posted in the Nexus 4 Q&A forum as well. It wasn't getting any response, so I figured I'd cast a wider net.]
Hey guys,
I've got an app called "Unlock with WiFi" installed on my rooted Nexus 4. I cannot for the life of me get the d*** thing off my phone. It had requested to be a device admin (which I had approved a while ago). However, I cannot deactivate it under Security>Device administrators...the checkbox just will NOT uncheck. I've tried uninstalling from within the app, which is what the app FAQs say to do, but it says I must first deactivate the app as a device admin.
I wasn't even rooted prior to tonight. I got so frustrated trying to uninstall it, I just did a quick root and installed TiBu...then proceeded to "Un-Install!" It looked like it had worked, I rebooted, then there it was again! I just want it gone! Any suggestions? I'd really rather not have to flash the stock images, but if that's my only option, I will -_-
To be clear, I've tried disabling the app every way I know how. I've tried turning off all settings within the app. If it's a conventional method, I've tried it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone...
I've done the most stupid thing in my entire life with Android - I've trusted OP of this thread (the Force OTA how-to).
I've struggled with getting all push notifications and tokens for almost all Google service.
There's only one left, that doesn't work: android device manager doesn't see my device.
I know that other people had problems with it also, I didn't get it back to work with any instruction available.
I don't want to factory reset...
Is there any way I can re-add my device to Google Play (it's listed and I can push apps to device) and Android Device Manager?
ATM it just says I don't have any...
BTW: The other thread should be removed as this stupid method only causes problems!
Unfortunately it's just closed.
the fix should be very easy: remove and re-add your google account from settings->account->google
you won't loose anything
I wouldn't ask if it would be so easy.
I've tried that, i've tried giving permissions to manager once again, i've trying re-caching the google play store.
The only thing that changed was that my phone now shows up in google-play list (as my device).

Click to collapse
What I said before IS the fix, what does not work yet? did you tried a restart of the phone?
I've tried that already two days ago.
I have push notifications, I have working PlayStore, I can see device on the device-list and 'last usage' data is updating everyday.
What I don't see is my device in "android device manager" (website to track phone & ring/clear it).

then try to check on "google settings" app on your phone if device management is enabled (location + wipe)..or maybe it needs some time to appear on the website again
It is set, i've searched for all possible options.
It's strange as it need so much time to appear... After first run it showed up seconds later on my account.
I have the tmobile variant of this phone. I also had mine craft pocket edition (mcpe) installed from the Amazon app store. I am rooted. I went to open mcpe, but nothing happened. I restarted my phone and the mcpe icon was gone, but there was an android icon in its place. I tried opening again, but it did nothing. I went to Uninstall it, but it didn't go through the Uninstall sequence, the android icon just disappeared. I went to install mcpe again through the Amazon app store but it's showing as already installed through there. There is no trace of the app through the android app manager, and I can't find the com.majong.minecraft.pe folder anywhere. No trace of mine craft that I can actually find. It shows up in titanium back up, as com.majong.minecraft.pe but there is a line though it.
Any help in getting this resolved would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Also I have tried installing this app from "non official" sources and it won't install. It just says app not installed.
Hey guys,
I recently bought a Chinese Android car head unit from a pretty random AliExpress seller. The unit is based on a chip that doesn’t have a lot of info about it on the web: AC8257 (Probably some sort of a MediaTek). I know those Chinese units and ROMs can be pretty funky, but this one actually works pretty well, both on the car side and the Android/Google apps side. However, I do have one small, yet very annoying problem that I can’t seem to solve on my own: Google app (Which includes the assistant) did not come preinstalled with the device. I’ve manually installed it from the app store, and until my first reboot, everything seemed to work fine. The assistant could be called both by a key-press and by “OK/Hello Google”. So far so good. The problem first appeared upon restarting the machine. When I tried calling the assistant, I got a message saying that Google assistant is not set as my default assistant (See attached photo). I went to the settings, and guess what, it seemed to be set as the default (See attached photo - No other option other than “None” were available anyway). I chose it again anyway, and indeed, it started working properly again. However, 30 minutes later, even without a reboot, it happened again. And again… You get the idea.
I did some googling (Both for the AC8257 and the assistant problem itself, contacted the seller and searched wherever I can, but the results were dull). I tried solving it by doing the following:
Using adb and root rights (Through ADB, not a permanent root), I installed the apk in priv-app, didn’t work. I then tried moving the Play store installation the priv-app, also did not work. I also tried disabling something called DuraSpeed, which, as far as I understand, is a performance enhancing tool by MediaTek that can sometimes cause this kind of thing, but that ,sadly, also did not help. In addition, I also tried resetting the device completely, to no avail. The only thing I didn’t try is installing a clean ROM and then installing OpenGapps, but that’s not possible right now (Couldn’t find any ROM for this device and CPU).
I know this might be a problem that is specifically related to my device/ROM, but as I can’t find a lot of info about it pretty much anywhere, I thought it might not be such a bad idea to ask this question in a more general forum.
Many thanks to you all,
Noam.
I have the same problem.
If you solve, tell us. Thanks!
Try to figure out what event took place at the 30 minute mark. Try to see what apk pops up in the cache when it crashes.
You can try clearing the system cache then the data of the apks used if that doesn't get it.
Try resetting network settings if communicating with bluetooth.
Eventually you'll find it if you keep playing with it... Androids wuv being played with.
