Hi,
Searched but I couldn't find anything related to this. Just got my wife the SGS2 (AT&T). Rooted. An issue she is having which first happened with the game "fruit ninja" is after she installs it from the market, it doesn't show up in the app drawer. Eventually the app did show up (after a reboot or two) but, there are other apps that showed up immediately after installing and then disappeared from the app drawer. The apps are still installed because if you go to them in the market you can click "open" and they open without an issue. Phone is running gingerbread (not the 2.3.6 update (because of the root, was unable to update)). Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

So this update tried to install this evening, but then failed once it got a few lines into the Recovery mode. From another post I just read http://forum.sdx-developers.com/epic-questions/problem-after-the-di07-update/ , this doesn't sound like the Froyo 2.2 update, people are now having issues with the Market and their paid apps, so should I even worry trying to force this to happen again or just avoid it
from my experience.. i would say just to hold off. it screwed up my android market and i can't download any apps or anything. if your phone is fine now.. then don't update. i wanted to see what the fuss was about with the media hub.. totally not worth the tradeoff of having the market not working
I just got my OTA for D107. I heard alot of people were having problems that if they were rooted it wouldn't install. I didn't have that problem at all. I am rooted and it installed just fine plus I've had no problems with my paid apps or the market.
What I did was when the OTA came in I clicked on "more info", then I clicked on "Reboot and Install" or "Restart and Install". I can't remember exactly what it was. It turned off, it installed, and then started the phone. Everything works great including the media hub, paid apps, and the market.
mine failed because I had removed some of the built-in apps. I just restored my built in apps, but I'm not sure if there's a way to "retry" the update... anyone know?

The problem isn't with all paid apps. Just the protected ones. If they are already installed when you update to DI07, they will still be installed, but they won't appear in your Downloads in the Market. Which means you won't be able to update them.
To test if you are having this issue, search the Market for a protected app such as Radiotime. If you can't find it, it's because the DI07 ROM build.prop is not yet recognized by the Market as legit.
or you can just try to open the app "talk" aka google chat .. if it FC, then yeah, the market wont work :/
Hi,
recently I rooted my EU Xoom device. Everything worked fine so far. Now the Market App told me about an update to the Music App. I hit "update" , then a small window appears that says something like "permitting access" (in German of course), the window disappears and no update is done. Any ideas? Can this have to do with the rooting of the device?
btw: is there an english language pack for my device?
cheers

I had the same issue - It appeared in My Apps as an update, but wouldn't intall. I left it for a few hours, came back and it worked. You could probably try clearing the cache and stopping the Myapps process, though this didn't change anything for me.
I've seen the same thing happen before for apps that aren't initially available in all regions.
If you attempt to install music beta from the android market website (with a PC/laptop), you should be able to hover over the device. For me, it was initially greyed out, with the tooltip explaining that it wasn't available in my region/country, even though a friend had just updated to it. I'm sure if you leave it a few hours, you'll be able to install it then.
had the same thing happen to me when i uninstalled the music beta update.
Simple click manage instead of install and then once redirected to the manage page seleting update will now work properly.
Hi,
thx for your replies. Killing the MyApps app and clearing the cache helped in my case!
cheers

I have same issue with a US WiFi model used out side of US.
I googled a free US http proxy, type it into wifi settings.then access market again, end with update successfully.
how do you do it? i need ur help pls
I've had a good hunt around both the xda forums, and the internet, hoping I could solve this problem without troubling anyone else, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Y running 2.3.6 and rooted. I was recently having some issues where I'd get an alert saying "Insufficient Internal Memory", I cleared just about every app out, and was still getting the error, so, in a last ditch effort, did a factory reset. The reset went fine, but for one problem.
The Google Marketplace app wouldn't update to Google Play, and I was unable to download or update apps. After trying all the usual solutions, such as clearing the cache and simply waiting, I got a friend to upload the .apk for their Play Store, which was the latest version and running without an issue. I then installed this .apk, rebooted, and found that the app had technically installed, but the icon was completely blank, the only evidence of it was in Settings>Apps. After three reboots it eventually showed an icon for the Play Store in my app drawer. However when tap it, it starts to open, freezes, quickly flashes an error message, and then closes. The error message isn't on screen long enough to read, but I think I can get the words "Sorry!" and "Procedure".
I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Anyone out there who knows the ins and outs of Android better than me, have any idea?
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?
What do u really need update to Google play from market?
I always uninstall the update of market to play,. Market is better...
So let mobile on its own upload the martket, dont do manually if u need play...
Then it may be solved,i think...

I have searched everywhere for someone having a similar problem and a fix, but for the first time on xda, I haven't been able to find one.
I have a Galaxy SIII on Verizon currently running Hyperdrive RLS13.
When I open the Application Manager, click on an app (any app, it doesn't matter whether I installed it from the Play Store or from an apk) and then click "Uninstall", it does nothing but goes back to the application list. It doesn't install, I get no error message, Settings doesn't crash...it just does nothing. It's the same as using the back button.
I CAN uninstall apps within the Play Store. Occasionally the uninstall button in the Settings will actually give me the confirmation pop-up to continue with the uninstall or to cancel it. But 90% of the time it doesn't and I have to use the Play Store.
I have done a clean flash once already and the issue still persists. My fiance who has the same exact phone as me (but in white) is also running Hyperdrive RLS13 and his phone is fine. In fact, I flashed Hyperdrive onto both our phones with the same exact SD card, using the same zip file.
I've been using custom ROMs for several years so yes, I've done all the obvious things, but I've reached the extent of my knowledge on what could be causing this. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this issue before or a possible fix? I've never had this issue outside of Hyperdrive (I would post in the Hyperdrive thread but I don't have enough posts to reply in Development).
Have you tried flashing rls14. I would do your wipes and then flash the newest release.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda premium
I just downloaded it yesterday but I haven't flashed it yet - it's moving to my SD card right now. The only reason I posted for a fix though is because reflashing 13 didn't help... the issue just randomly started occuring about 3 weeks after I originally installed Hyperdrive. It makes me wonder what caused it.
I will be flashing 14 shortly and will report back.
Following a clean RLS14 flash, I still cannot uninstall within the Application Manager.
My fiance's phone (which I also updated to 14 as well this afternoon) can do so like usual.
So...any ideas?
workaround
assuming you nandroided coming from 13 to 14, just dont select those apps you want uninstalled to backup.
flash 14, restore apps, and only the ones you want will appear.
another workaround to try is install nova, long click the icon on a homescreen, select uninstall. not sure if this is a prime faeture though.
Well, sure - the even easier workaround is to just uninstall them with the Play Store, but I'd rather find out why this is happening.
So I've searched the web and the Hyperdrive thread and can't seem to find anything ANYWHERE. Any insight would be helpful. It seems to make sense that it could be a permissions issue maybe, but I don't know enough about building ROMs to know how to go about testing that.
I have the tmobile variant of this phone. I also had mine craft pocket edition (mcpe) installed from the Amazon app store. I am rooted. I went to open mcpe, but nothing happened. I restarted my phone and the mcpe icon was gone, but there was an android icon in its place. I tried opening again, but it did nothing. I went to Uninstall it, but it didn't go through the Uninstall sequence, the android icon just disappeared. I went to install mcpe again through the Amazon app store but it's showing as already installed through there. There is no trace of the app through the android app manager, and I can't find the com.majong.minecraft.pe folder anywhere. No trace of mine craft that I can actually find. It shows up in titanium back up, as com.majong.minecraft.pe but there is a line though it.
Any help in getting this resolved would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Also I have tried installing this app from "non official" sources and it won't install. It just says app not installed.
