Would love to see an app that could allow the following in the gmail app...
Long press
make new calendar entry
'event name' is populated with the email subject
'event description is populated with body of email
you do the rest.... date, reminder etc
Anyone know of an app or someone have the skills to do it
I know you can't even do it from the desktop client so might be wishful thinking!
Anyone think its a good idea?
Bryan
Could this be done with tasker? I might have a play this evening....

Hi,
Looking for an App that will force a loud ringtone (even when on silent) when an email arrives (into Gmail box) from a specific email address (or addresses).
Basically a 'prioiry email' type application. I have had a nosey round the market and various apps seem to offer partial results but nothing concrete.
This is needed for overnight support at work - to make sure that any incidents wake up the on-call guys
in other words it needs to be a pretty stable app
Any thoughts ?
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.hubris.gmailnotifierpro&feature=search_result should be the solution, you'll need to set up a rule in gmail to put the mail in a certain label and then use this app
You might also be able to do something like that with Tasker. I know it is possible to trigger alarms and other changes/activities with SMS messages, so email may be as well.
Thanks Guys .... Ill have a tinker with both
Actually, that title is worded a little poorly. It should probably read: "Direct shortcut to pre-composed draft email"
I would like to make a direct shortcut on my homescreen, which, when pressed will open an already composed draft email, which will include a pre-defined recipient list, pre-composed subject line, and pre-composed body.
I can make a draft email in my default email program with all of the latter information (recipients, subject, body).
I would simply like a way to create a shortcut to this draft that shows up on my homescreen.
Anyone know how I can accomplish this?

Phone: Motorola Photon 4g (Sprint) - 2.3.4 base stock rom (ROOTED)
Write a small app that on start, automaticly launches a prefilled email intent.
How would I accomplish this using something like Anycut?
I'm not a developer, so I'm not sure on the exact syntax for this application.
For AnyCut here is what I have so far for "Make Your Own":
Action: android.intent.action.SENDTO
Data: mailto:[email protected]
Type: <leave this blank>
This works and opens a new compose email with [email protected] in the "to:" field.
Now, how would I populate the subject line and body of the email?
When I type on the data line:
mailto:[email protected]
subject:test
body:test
it thinks everything after "mailto:" is the email address.
Can someone help?

I found the app "Email Template Widget" in the market.
It does everything I'd like it to do, but I cannot create a custom widget from it for a specific template. I emailed the dev for a feature request.
That's ok though... this will work for now!
Folks
Does anybody know of an app that allows you to place a widget or icon on the home screen. Once you click on it, it immediately opens Gmail with the To: column populated with a pre-defined email address and you can just type the message and send
Big time saver if you send 50 emails to one person a day
Thx

i can't figure how this app works. Also i woulid have to open the app and then click on smth, 2 clicks. I'm looking for something that you can add a widget to the home screen and once you click on it, it automatically puts you in the body field of gmail (to and subject is pre-defined)
Any other app recommendations for this?
Hi,
I was looking for an app to block notifications during weekends for some email accounts but I couldn't, so I've developed one.
It allows you to create a schedule so you can avoid work email notification in your free time.
In addition to that, it also allows you to override your schedule temporarily for special events like a day off.
I could have switched to another email client but I was happy with the official Gmail app.
How does it work?
Well, it just toggles the synchronization on/off based on the schedule you define within the app.
In order to discover the email accounts in your device I need to use the GET_ACCOUNTS permission. Sadly, it belongs to the CONTACTS group starting Android 6. Please, tell me if you find a way to work around this.
I'm sorry but I can't post the link yet, but you can find the app on Google Play, just search for "Quiet for Gmail"
I hope you find it useful and I'm looking forward to getting some feedback from you :fingers-crossed:

Is anyone aware of a Gmail app (paid or free) that can do the following, just like the Gmail web interface?
1. Ability to assign label(s) to emails/conversations and have those label(s) shown next to the conversation title in the inbox
2. The Undo feature, when moving or deleting mail. Great for my occasional slip ups sending a mail to the wrong label.
Right now I'm using TypeApp, super feature rich but missing those two key features important to me.
Thanks!
