[Q] ActiveSync 3.8 file transfer suddenly stopped - General Questions and Answers

ActiveSync 3.8 on Win XP pro SP2 using Axim X50v (WiFi or USB):
File transfer (move/copy) FROM Axim TO Desktop only goes to a temp folder in Local Settings directory and not where directed. Sync works in both directions; file transfer works FROM PC TO Axim. Connecting Axim to another computer works.
I have disabled firewall, anti-virus etc, and even in SafeMode -- no go.
What is needed to redirect files from a temp folder _PegEx~1 to proper place.
This stopped working in the middle of a good set of transfers.
TIA

ActiveSync using Bluetooth - first time USB required - Regis

My USB cable was damaged long time ago. And since then, I was successfully synching my Imate pocked pc 2003 with my pc using Bluetooth. All was working ok and synchronization was working using BlueTooth because partnership was already created on my machine using USB cable..
Problem started when I refreshed my laptop and reinstall windows xp. I reinstalled ActiveSync 3.8 and did Bluetooth setup. But can’t get ActiveSync running using Bluetooth. After reading different articles on net, it was mentioned everywhere that partnerships are required to be setup before Bluetooth sync using USB cable.
Everytime, I was trying to open “Connection Setting, was showing “Get Connected” dialog to search active connection. But Bluetooth connection cannot be searched using “Get Connected” dialog box.
To hack this, I exported registry entries from my other desktop pc and imported in my new fresh machine. Before import, I changed folder location in registry file according to my new pc.
Before import, please create backup of this registry node before importing attached file.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
After importing, “Connection Setting” dialog also opened successfully without connection search dialog. Here I changed my required port (COM5-Bluetooth port). And then from my pocket pc, in Tool menu of ActiveSync, I clicked “Connect using Bluetooth”. And surprisingly ActiveSync connected using Bluetooth with my laptop machine.
After connection, ActiveSync start asking to start new Partnership and then all work as usual.
Please contact me directly in case of any issue.

Activesync Problem (wont synch !)

Hello,
I downloaded Activesync 4.5. Installed it and it synchronised fine for a day or so, but now although it connects it will not synch. I can still explore the Himalaya from within Activesync and install programs through it, but cannot synch.
When i put the PPC in the cradle the usual "bee bee beep" happens (as if connecting). Activesync then brings up the error - http://i25.tinypic.com/33jpkqo.jpg How can i solve this ??
I have tried Activesync 3 and 4.2 with no joy
How do i get the screen which says "Set up partnership" again ??
There must be some corrupted file on the PPC as the Activesync on my PC works fine for my PDA phone.
Best Regards,
Andrew

HELP Us Tmobile Hd2/Mac Laptop

So Can Someone Walk Me Thru The Steps To Install
Co0kie's Home Tab v1.7.1
To My Phone...I Connect The Phone And Am Lost From There So Please Go Into Detail =(
I do not think you can connect a windows phone to a Mac computer. They are not compatible.
What you can do instead is -
1.download the cookiehometab.cab file on your computer,
2.then send yourself an email that is linked to your phone and attach the .cab file.
3.dowload the attachment on your phone and then run it to install it.
That should be all you have to do.
re
You can download the apps to your computer, they will just be unrecognizable. Transfer them to your SD card through USB or Bluetooth, and then search it on your phone. This worked well for me. Quicker then DL them strait from your phone!
theres a software called "missing sync" for mac's. try searching for a torrent or unless you want to buy the program. but it works better than activesync in my opinion.
Moved as not software release.
I'm using a macbook to connect to my hd2 most of the time. No problems connecting at all.
Connect USB cable and connect as disk drive on HD2, Macbook sees hd2 sd card as disk drive. Just access the drive on your mac and transfer the file(s) to hd2 storage card.
Or, if you have set up a bluetooth connection between the mac and the hd2, use the mac's "sent file" option in the bluetooth menu.
After you get the file to your HD2 you can use the original installation instructions again.
The syncmate program works great for syncing your contacts etc. But had some trouble getting it to work through bluetooth. I use the USB for that. But than the phone has to be set to active sync mode.
(love my macbook pro, but hated the iphone hype and the restrictions hence the HD2)

Can't see any tab subdirs when connected to XP PC

I am having a problem connecting the tab to an older XP PC. It sees it as a portable media device and shows both internal and external memory. But, I only see files and directories at the root level, nothing below. All the directories are blank, yet I can copy files from the root. I tried the universal naked drivers, they installed as MPT media device OK, but same issue. I can't install the Asus PC Suite software because I have no internet connection on the PC and get a TL bootstrap error when I try to tether it to my phone. I also have no XP install CD with me either. Any suggestions?
[Edit] Back at you from my Linux distro. What a difference. Plug the phone in and tell it to share the internet and Linux finds it no problem. Same with the tab and there are all my subdirs. Plug-n-play, no drivers, no hassle - just works. How did MS go so far and get so embedded?
All I can figure is it must be some kind of Windows security since I don't have the Asus drivers suite installed. Like it thinks maybe its not my tab (stolen?) Same with the TL bootstrap error since I don't have HTC sync installed.
[Solved] Windows Media Player 11 needed for MPT connectivity
Well, after installing 151 Windows updates (computer had not been connected to internet for over 3 years), downloading HTC Sync at work and taking it home on a flash drive and installing that, then getting Internet sharing working on a cabled connection to my phone, and finally Asus Suite downloaded and installed, still no subdirectories were showing. Arg^2. Exactly the same problem before any upgrades or installing the Asus Suite.
So it was self-evident, the problem was with some Windows component that was not update related. During the Asus Suite install, a message comes up that you have to have Windows Media Player 11 installed to sync media files on the tablet. So I got to thinking, maybe some aspect of WMP 11 was involved with the MPT drivers and connectivity to the tablet, so the next day I downloaded WMP 11 from work, copied it to a flash drive, and installed it the following morning, and voila there are all my subdirectories, and I can freely exchange files now with the Windows PC. I had WMP 10 installed, and it wouldn't connect properly.
[Edit] I still get the TL bootstrap error as I do with my work PC when connecting the phone as an internet router, but the phone still connects and Internet Sharing is enabled and working despite this initial connection error.
