Activesync Problem (wont synch !) - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrading

Hello,
I downloaded Activesync 4.5. Installed it and it synchronised fine for a day or so, but now although it connects it will not synch. I can still explore the Himalaya from within Activesync and install programs through it, but cannot synch.
When i put the PPC in the cradle the usual "bee bee beep" happens (as if connecting). Activesync then brings up the error - http://i25.tinypic.com/33jpkqo.jpg How can i solve this ??
I have tried Activesync 3 and 4.2 with no joy
How do i get the screen which says "Set up partnership" again ??
There must be some corrupted file on the PPC as the Activesync on my PC works fine for my PDA phone.
Best Regards,
Andrew

ActiveSync WM2003 WM2005

Hi
Maybe this has been answerd, i have one PDA with WM2005 & my works PDA with WM2003, now and then i have to sync my works PDA with outlook via my PC.
Im told you can not (or should not) use ActiveSync 4.x with WM2003 & ActiveSync 3.8 will not work with WM2005.
Anyone have any ways round useing 2 pda`s on one PC. :? :?
You can sync both on your computer. Activesync 4 will automatically switch to version 3.8 when you use your WM2003 PDA. I sync my JAM and 6700 and it works fine.

activesync works, but won't install .exe files

Hello,
I'm still having weird issues with ActiveSync (HTC TyTN). Currently, it synchronizes everything I want, both over USB and over bluetooth. USB only works if I uncheck the advanced network settings in the "USB to PC" setting.
But when I want to install a program that has its own .exe installer, it doesn't work. I have connected the device with the PC (so the ActiveSync icon in systemtray is green).
When I double click the .exe, it starts, but it never sends the program to the wm5 device. The program stays running Windows, but that is it.
I really don't know how to start troubleshooting this. I have reinstalled ActiveSync, and did a hard reset on the HTC, but to no avail.

Apparently, ActiveSync doesn't like being installed as an SVS layer...
(works now)

did you redo the pairing?
WORKS again...
reinstalled activesync 3 times but thank you!
Hi,
I know this is an old thread but i wanted people thoughts on Activesync over Bluetooth?
What issues are there and how reliable is it?
Im using WM6.1 and plan to sync with Outlook2003 on XPpro sp3.
Thanks
I find activesync via bluetooth very reliable, although not fast enough for transfering large files.
Best way to get it working properly is:
Delete any existing pairings on both the pc and ppc.
Check that the bluetooth program on your pc has a com port set up and that your pc is discoverable.
Go to activesync connection settings on pc, and check that it is set to use the same com port as the previous step.
On ppc, go to activesync and attempt to 'connect via bluetooth'.
When it doesnt find a connection, select to create one, add device, and create a partnership with your pc. It SHOULD find activesync as a service.
Now you can close the bluetooth menu, and 'connect via bluetooth' again.
(this would probably have helped the OP 20 months ago)

How to force ActiveSync to sync ?

I am in a bad situation, I have modified contacts, tasks, calendar items on my PPC, and now I can not sync my PPC with my PC any more. Each time I connect my PPC to the PC, I can see the green icon in the system tray turn for about 3 minutes and then it stops and I get the error message:
"
ActiveSync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. To troubleshoot the problem, click OK.
"
I have tried to solve this by changing the USB to PC settings on my PC and by using MemMaid to rebuild the events. But no success at all.
I think the problem is that normally my PPC shows a connecting message when you plug it to a PC, and I do not have this message any more. How can I get it back ? how to force ActiveSync to sync ?
Thanks for any help, chris
I have found the solution ! So for everyone having the same problem: use MemMaid and delete every 'duplicated event' entries.
That's all, your PocketPC should now be sync properly.

s710 connects on Vista but not XP ?

Well, did a successful reflash from E650 to S710. Played with it a bit on my work machine thats Vista'ed. Now, i bring it home, plug it into XP machine and nothing...nada. ActiveSync 4.5 is installed (like 5 times over...). What gives ? Device is shown as connected in device manager.
*SORTED*
Disabled "advenced networking" thingamy in settings>connections>USB2PC and it started to sync as it was supposed to.
Before that tried to mess with firewalls, netlimiter, but that was not the problem apparently...
