I'm thinking about flashing the froyo rom and I want to back my apps up. Here's the issue. AT&T but a block on unknown sources. How do I enable it, or would RomManager work just as good?

Is there an app that can save the placement of my icons before flashing a new rom? Instead of having to resetup my app shortcuts after restoring from titanium backup after flashing a new rom.

Depends on the ROMs, if both ROMs have ADW then there are backup options in ADW. But I don't think you can with sense roms.
Giving "My Backup Root" a try since it has an option to backup system settings. I figure the worst it can do is cause some fc errors & I'll have to reflash & do it manually.

system settings are not the same as launcher settings. 99.99999% sure it will not work properly, if you are going from one rom to a completely different rom. if all you are doing is updating from version 1 to version 2 of the same rom, as long as the rom uses the same base, you dont have to wipe data, which means your launcher, apps, and settings will remain intact
depends on your launcher though as already suggested.
Greatly dependent on the Rom and Launcher. MIUI backup offers built in desktop backup. And something like Adw would also offer this within the settings. Im not familiar with antithetical launcher bit I would imagine many of them offer this.

Hey guys I own a g2x and have it rooted and roms and such so I am comfortable with flashing recovery and roms but she is not rooted right now so how can I back up her contacts and apps. will titanium backup still work? Thanks

Contacts should be stored on the gmail account. If not then do that first.
To backup apps use a program called backup program and restore. Does not require root.
Also apps do backup on the Google account as well.

I did a search but I didn't find it, I could have missed it so I'm sorry in advance. I just want to be rid of the triangle update notification. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Settings>Applications>Manage application>All>DMClient>Clear data
Then if you are rooted you can freeze dmclient with titanium backup or just switch to a custom Rom

Thanks for asking this, I wanted to do the same as I just rooted and it was trying to update already.
Titanium Backup does not have the freeze feature on the free version.
I ended up using an App called Root Uninstaller

If you also stop the application here then it will never run again (also after reboot).
But when you want it back just use the check update under about tablet.
Worked on mine TF.
You then don't need Titanium Backup for this.
I just installed CR 5.0 and I selected some bloat that I don't want any more in aroma. I I can't get rid of it anymore. Is it possible to rerun it? I do I have to re flash?

You can just wipe caches and reflash ROM. You'll have all your data but not the bloat you don't want.
Or use something like titanium backup to just uninstall the bloat you don't want.

Thanks for the quick reply but I have a very nooby question. How do you use titanium to backup and restore. I thought I new how to do it but It ended up not working. I saved my backup to my sdcard and tried to restore right from there. Any help on what to do is appreciated.

Hi guys, I am using a rooted T-Mobile Galaxy s2 with CM10 stable custom rom. I want to know if it is safe to uninstall all the bloatwares I had freeze while using the rooted stock rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
If you're on cm 10, you shouldn't have anymore bloatware. Did you restore apps from the stock rom?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
it depends on which apps the ROM creator might have put in the /system/app folder.
Mostly they won't as it's a wastage of space.
So do some research in google before you uninstall any system app.
I used Titanium backup while in stock and I still see the bloatware in the Titanium app in custom now though still freezed. That's why I taught maybe its still eating out on my space.

You shouldn't have backed up system apps. Only downloaded apps.
