(ICONS AVAILABLE AT VILLAINROM.co.uk - THANKS MANUP456)
DISCLAIMERS:
1. An SD-EXT partition is required in this ROM (for additional apps), but the ROM itself will NOT install to it. Yey!
2. A ROM shouldn’t brick your phone, unless the “developer” has been foolish enough to include an incorrect radio as part of the installation. That being said, if you somehow manage to brick your phone, Team Villain are in no way responsible. We will, however, give you a tenner for it in the unlikely event of a Desire resembling a housebrick.
3. THERE IS NO CAMERA IN THIS ROM. DO NOT ASK ABOUT THE CAMERA. I actually got this rom semi (more like 1/8) working on the old kernel. I even got it to take a picture, but then it FCd. Then, to my surprise, so did every other application on the phone. I simply don’t have the time just yet to spend on this. Maybe in a week or so I’ll get around to it.
4. If you ask a question that has been answered in this opening post, I tend to get frustrated. It shows an utter lack of respect of the developer, who has spent hours of his personal time creating this ROM for you, then another hour writing up an epic set of release notes, only for a ‘one-post-wonder’ to come along and say ‘WTFOMG – NO CAMERALULZ IN THIZ ROM!!!!!!! WHY???!!!12!.?’. ... so yeah, please don’t do that. Read thoroughly.
5. This is a BETA version. As previously stated, the camera doesn’t work. It will, in time, but it doesn’t right now. There may be a few bugs, so I’d appreciate some solid, usable feedback.
6. VillainROM are awesome. If you don’t believe me, join our IRC channel. The details of which can be found on VillainROM.co.uk, in the General Chat section of the forum. Alternatively, you can use the client built into our website.

So, here it is; 0.2.0. Not exactly a monumentally groundbreaking update, but an update, nonetheless. Reports were flocking in that the Browser wasn’t working on some webpages... so my first mission was to logcat that. It turned out, that in my haste, I seemingly deleted a semi-essential lib file relating to flash-lite. This was preventing sites with even the slightest element of flash to keel over and die quietly like the hare I smashed into with my car last night. Stupid thing. I mean, seriously... what was it thinking? It saw a predator (I came to the conclusion that cars are essentially a form of predator, as far as 50cm tall land mammals are concerned) coming right towards it at 60MPH, and ran TOWARDS it. Not away; not to the side; TOWARDS it. I felt quite terrible for a minute, then I thought to myself; ‘No, I’m not feeling bad. This is the real world after all. Survival of the fittest and all that. Well, it turns out that cars are significantly fitter than over-sized rabbits. Poor thing.
Still... guilt got the better of me. I continued my drive home, feeling a little bit sick as a result of the mental image of a still twitching, roadkilled big-bunny corpse imprinted to the front of my mind.
Where was I? That’s right – the browser. Yeah, so it was a simple fix. A missing lib file. Big deal, I hear you say. Well, luckily, that’s not the best news of the day. The best news of the day by a country mile, is that the outstanding Android ROM developer, Richard Trip has joined the VillainROM team. YES, THAT’S RIGHT – the ORIGINAL and arguably greatest AOSP ROM developer has joined our ever increasing ROMOPOLY (for the non-native English speakers out there, that’s a pun on Monopoly, not roly-poly). Anyway, the point is, we’re using his (and probably will continue to use his) fantastic, OC kernel in this ROM. Welcome to the team, Richard.
God man... get on with it.
So yeah. Browser fixed, flash problem fixed, Full flash added (needs updating from market).... uhmmmm..... I added the original HTC album, and the Gallery 3D will be uploaded as a flashable zip.
THINGS TO COME:
- Flashable .zip which removes HTC lockscreen
- Flashable .zip which adds circle battery mod

Old post info: NOW REDUNDANT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Supervillain HD 0.1.1 (BETA)
Before we begin: The whole ROM installs to NAND. We don’t need half the system on your SD EXT partition. Woop!
This ROM is based on the latest Desire HD ROM (SENSE 2.0), but with Rosie, and a lot of other crap removed. The ROM is offered in two versions; Launcher Pro and ADW.J
It’s the best of both worlds. All the Sense applications (messaging, dialler, mail, etc – all are far superior to the alternatives), without the slowdown of Rosie and it’s 130mb of additional crap. I’m blowing my own trumpet here, but to me personally, this rom is the ****.
The only let down, of course, is the (lack of) camera, but I’ll get around to that in time.
At last. It’s ready for the public domain.
I can tell you in all honesty that this ROM has been an utter bastard to complete; and by that, I don’t mean that it was born illegitimately out of lawful matrimony. I couldn’t count the hours it’s taken to get to this stage on both hands... I **** you not. First, there was the size. How, I asked myself, do you get a 276mb zip file down to a target size of <150mb, for it to fit on the Nand drive? After all, we don’t want to have to install half the system directory to the SD External partition...
Well, I’ll tell you how.
First, I had to look up and test the necessity of more files than cigarettes I smoke, within the system folder. Libs, apks, images, images within apks... you get it. Many of these have been removed, as is the nature of the SuperVillain series. Those that were lucky enough to remain, have been APK optimised, PNG optimised. Sadly, this didn’t hugely reduce the size. It seems that HTC have, on this occasion, been on the ball and already optimized their apps.
Due to HTC’s strange and bewildering requirement that certain files are seemingly married to others, meant that after I finished deleting, stripping, etc, I was welcomed into the world of boot loops. Boot loop, after bloody boot loop. That’s if I was lucky.
On many occasions, it wouldn’t even load the boot animation, or show up in adb, for that matter. So, I turned to my good old friend, Kmsg. I won’t go into what that is, because if you don’t know right now, you probably have no interest in knowing. Sufficed to say, after several days of stripping files, testing, kmsging, altering files, stripping again, kmsing again, etc etc, it finally did as required, and booted. Yey, it EFFING booted! But that wasn’t to be the end of my woes.
The new HTC IME keyboard seemed to be in love with Laputa. What the hell is this Laputa anyway? Who uses that? I mean... honestly? 25mb’s worth of Laputa related files were bogging up the system, but the HTC keyboard demanded that this mysterious, yet obese thing that is called Laputa remained in place. That annoyed me to such an extent, that I tried other keyboards. IME Mod and stock Vanilla. Guess what... Sense 2.0 didn’t like those, either. Luckily, after a re-base, Laputa fell out with HTC IME, and moved on to pastures new. Laputa, the *****, left IME for another keyboard. Good news for me though... BYE BYE LAPUTA, WELCOME BACK NEW HTC IME KEYBOARD! Not that I use it myself; I’m a big fan of Swiftkey, personally.
I was so overjoyed, I could have cried like Louis Walsh at Gamu Nhengi’s beautiful rendition of ‘To make you feel my love’. It’s a farce that she went out of the competition by the way... but that’s another story entirely.
So. The ROM booted, and the keyboard worked without the love of its clingy ex, Laputa. All good.
Things were finally looking up!
Then came the images. Such a simple part of the process generally. Open up the framework-res.apk, locate the Default Wallpaper, and simply copy over it with the new, SuperVillainHD wallpaper. Oh no... not in Sense2.0. We’ll have a total of 4 folders, buried all over the place, each with their very own Default_wallpaper.jpg. Whatever, HTC... I love you, but at the same time, I really, really hate you.
I won’t go into what happened next, as another 6 hours of ‘trial and error’ in an attempt to speed up the ROM further, finally succeeded. What you see before you is the FINAL BETA version, and a base in which I can build upon and improve.

That's just superb!!!! Not even past the first page and someone asked about the Camera.
Other than that - ehem - interesting idea for a ROM. If I get the chance I'll give it a try. Still playing with trying to sort the 720p frame rate at the moment so don't want to loose the C****a function just yet.

Absolutely fantastic news! I rooted my phone just a week ago and the first (and only) custom rom I've tried so far is your SuperVillainROM. And it's in every way superior to the stock HTC Sense.
I'll have to give this a try when I get the time for it. Thanks for your hard work, it's truly appreciated

Thank you to all who tested. Now start getting your phones ready for the final build.
Themers:
Check Post #2 for a package of app & framework files. A good majority of the apps are from FRF91 Vanilla Android build so if you have packages that already work with that build then most should work here. Please make sure all packages are compatible. Please use the framework-res.apk provided since it is unique to this ROM. It is much different than the OEM Drodi2 packages.
ROM Developers:
Feel free to use this as a base for your own ROM. Please just respect us and give Matt, Drod and myself the proper credit and a link back to the threads.
History:
Being bored one day and sick of Blur with all the extra services I started to rip the ROM apart. Finally getting it as clean as I can and being forced to have a bit of blur I began a search on how to get rid of it all. I ended up on the MotoDev website to see what I can find when I bumped into the D2 SDK. Shockingly it was a plain vanilla build of Android. I thought why not and tried to boot it up. Ii did ( see first video here[/URL] ) with lots of bugs. The screen res as all off and we had no radio or many other hardware functions. On top of that it ran like a turtle stuck in some molasses. I sent a message of my my buddy Matt4542 and our journey began. From there Drod and I hooked up and now we have this. It has been a long rough week getting this sucker to where it is now. It was fun, frustrating and we nearly killed each other a few times but all ended well since we have a great finished project.
We kind of built AOSP ROM by hand. Some may say it is not a true AOSP ROM but it is. There is no difference between this build and a true AOSP ROM besides any tweaks that the developer may add when creating a ROM from source. We had no choice to do it this way since Moto locked us out of the bootloader (for now and next project). Many of the apps are built from source. About 90% of the app folder is built from source. We added some packages from the D2 that are a bit better and required for hardware reasons. There is NO Blur left in the ROM but for a moto-res.apk file that is required by the framework.
What will this ROM do?
It will give you a true Android Vanilla experience much in the same way the Original Droid (OD) did. It is not loaded with bloatware and everything functions as it should. Facebook will sync with your contacts and you will not have all of your memory being used by wasteful stuff on top of much more. Your phone will run more smoothly and feel a lot faster.
What can you do to help?
The most important thing is to provide feedback. When reporting bugs please be clear and with detailed explanation. Do not say this does not work and leave it that. The more feedback you provide will make it easier and quicker for us to kill any bugs. You may also give us a small donation to help with our continuing development of ROM and *POSSIBLY* get this bootlader cracked. It cannot be done with one device. I have a couple of friends who have experience with low level programming of chips and with their help maybe it can get done. They are Blackberry guys and not going to buy a device just for this. This is nothing more than a promise that it will be tried. I cannot say when and IF it can be done so please keep the questions to a minimum about it. If the project takes off then I will have updates. You can donate to the project by clicking HERE.

I'll be the first to ask - do we need to do all of the wipes if we are upgrading from RC1?
is this the final build?? cause its version 1.0 and are you guys going to provide ota updates?? other than that rom looks AWESOME
Appreciate the hard work guys!
Works great! So much better than the stock D2 ROM.
Cell standby is still an issue
So far so good.
Only two minor things. There is no easy to get to end-call button, which you already know about, and it seems like there is not speech to text support. Not that I really use speech to text, but it could come in handy.
Edit: Nevermind. Might just need to enable it in settings.
Contact Ringtones still don't work
Otherwise, it's gRRRRRRRRReat!
Seems like some bad blood brewing over this ROM on the droidforums page for it. AngDroid/MotoBoy, we all greatly appreciate your work (you too Matt4542! (and anyone else who doesn't get as much time in the lime light!)). As long as you are satisfied with the outcome of the ROM we all appreciate you sharing it with us. Just ignore the lamers that expect you to jump at their every beck and call. It's the first AOSP type ROM for the Droid 2, very first of it's kind for a very locked down phone, which in and of itself is a great accomplishment. If you ever fix anything in Fission, great, if not, I'll continue to look forward to what you develop in the future.
I'm still also curious about your twitter post from the other day, talking about your new Fusion ROM series. Interested to see how that one differs from both stock and Fission.
I am getting the USB problem like I was getting in Beta II. It would connect fine when I first loaded the rom up, and then half the day would pass by and then I can't connect the phone to the computer. Kind of weird. Pretty sure that I can charge from the wall. Just not sure why the USB isn't working.

I wonder if it's something underlying with your phone that's causing that issue. You'd think if it were a common bug you'd see other users complaining about it (as this thread on droid forums is about 8 pages long at this point). Given that it's you, who wrote the tutorials for some of the early D2 stuff, I have no doubt you followed all the steps for installing the ROM. Did you happen to SBF and start stock before going to Fission? I wonder if it could have resulted from flashing over another ROM. Very strange issue though, when I get a good chance to roll my phone up to Fission 1.0 I'll see if I experience the same thing (Thursday is probably a good day to flash, too many phone calls I can't miss between then and now).

How is it an issue? If your phone is on for 10 hours and you use cell for 1 hour of course it is going to eat the greatest percentage of battery use. The issue is the time is off now and then.

We tested this on IRC and it is working for everyone who tested.
if ud like a phone apk like this hit me up with a pm and ill send it to u
Does this ROM contain the ability to link contacts?
The reason I ask is because there are a few facebook contacts of mine that do not list their numbers on their profile but I have their numbers in my phone book. And when I installed Fission RC1, Facebook will list them as a contact but will not show them with the profile and with phone numbers I have in my phone. I recall being able to have that ability to link contacts in the stock D2 rom. Is this feature part of the Blur crap?
It really wouldn't even be an issue if the Facebook contacts were not read-only. I'd just add the numbers to their contact information on the phone then... But I can't. Go Facebook.
Go to the contact u want. Hit menu>edit then hit menu>join then u can pick the facebook contact u want to link it to

FROYO ROM
2.2.1 EC05 "Phoenix" II [Journaled]
From the ashes of RandomROM Plus, Phoenix rises.
EC05 AIO Volume/Hotspot/Lockscreen
The first rom to combine ALL of these great mods!
Updated 11/29/2011
Updates, Important Notices, and General Information Posted Here!
I'd like to extend a special thank you to anyone who has donated!
I maintain RandomROM as a distribution across multiple forums. As such, the bulk of the information, details, etc. is maintained on my site. Rest assured, the links below will take you to aforementioned site where you will find all of the information you require regularly updated on how to use this rom. No subscription required. Always free (donations appreciated, never required). All of my roms, mods, themes, guides, etc. can be found on this easy to navigate site as well as my blog for upcoming updates. As always, I will still answer questions here.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, divorce, bankruptcy, acne, etc. Please do some research if you are a first time flasher BEFORE flashing this rom. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me if something goes wrong with your device, I will laugh. By downloading, you agree to have read all pertinent information provided and to accept any and all responsibility subsequently.
Home Of The AIO Mod For EC05.I have updated and merged necrosan's wifi tether mod and mkasick's volume rocker mod together, as they change the same framework.jar. This means that Sprint Hotspot will work freely without an additional Wifi Tether app, and that your volume rocker can now seamlessly transition from silent, to vibrate, to loud. Included in this conglomeration are also maddoggin's lockscreen mod. This will currently remain known as the AIO mod, and version 1 is the latest. It is included in the Phoenix Blue EC05 theme.
To any rom/theme developers: Feel free to utilize this mod but be sure to reference myself and all aforementioned developers involved. It took a lot of time and effort to make these great features play nicely and it's important to keep the original creators in the loop.
Why Should You Use RandomROM?
Alternate names considered: BatteryROM, BurningROMThis rom is a personal hobby of mine to maintain the greatest battery life that I can. I've scoured the forums searching for the newest and greatest tweaks, mods, etc. to include, and then carefully tested them all for battery performance. I've also made additional changes and additions all my own. As such, this rom has compiled the excellent work of many great developers into my own ideas and configurations. Contained within are many useful apps pre-installed as well as an effort to replicate my exact setup which has yielded me 1-2% battery loss per hour maximum when idle!
All included apps have been RandomKing-Approved to conform with the best battery usage. I'm always on the lookout for more tweaks, possible thematic changes, etc., however this version is the last major revision last based on EC05. There should be no issues, but should I happen to find one, I may simply release a patch or quietly switch out the upload version.
Many of you have complained that others achieve much better battery life. The goal of RandomRom is to provide MY setup that's provided me with great battery life. Further details possibly important details will be made available in post 2. Any other information can be found on my site along side the download links.

How do I use my own ringtone, alarm, and notification mp3s?
Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".
Inside of that create:
"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.

GPS tends to work pretty well for me. However, as a note on most roms I've tried, it usually works better after a reboot. At it's best, it locks on in seconds, at it's worst, up to a minute generally.
Looks good random appreciate the hard work.. seems like our hobbies are pretty aligned haha. My hobby is battery life
So this looks to be based on srf 1.2? Is that correct?
As a srf user what are the main differences? I see it uses geno and journaling is enabled, any other big changes?

It was originally based on my love for SFR 1.1. From there I set about incorporating in everything I could find or think of from no2chems bionic mod to theimpaler's speed demon keyboard tweak, to the tw date fix. Then I went back and rebuilt the rom to clean things up a bit. I've baked in my shortcut terminal commands to freeze drm, sns, and updates in order to preserve more battery(couldn't make them autorun). Patched together my own version of a theme, made some other rewrites, switched out some apps, aimed towards more black pixel usage and transparent apps(thanks impaler!). Re-downgraded the bionic update from 1.1 to 1.0 to solve issues people were having with wifi connections, added back in media uploading, etc. etc. It's gone through various revisions as I continue to use it myself, throw out certain parts, change others, find new mods that can help preserve yet more battery, etc. Baked in journaling, but also included a non-journaled version. Also, journal on/off cwm flash-ables will be copied to your sd card, should you change your mind later, along with the cwm 3.1.0.1 update. Tried to keep it as functional and slick as ever. And included Rodderick's Genocide 1.0 as that's still my favorite kernel .
I did make it a point to re-use the same data backup code employed by SFR, as I like to switch back and forth between roms. I, myself, am a connoisseur of roms and a flash-aholic. That said, I haven't tried sfr 1.2 personally, so I can't say how this compares.
Thanks for the ROM update. Any plans on Gingerbread ROM?

This 2.2 version is final. I know, silly idea since I just brought it to an xda thread and only a few people followed me here through all revisions and a few more at androidcentral...
But yes, my new hobby is Gingerbread.
My buddy flashed his Epic to this and wiped everything multiple times but it won't leave airplane mode. Thoughts?
Why include ATK? Why not recommend it to people?
Most don't need a task killer and such task killers can hurt more than help... from my experience anyways..
On other note, This looks very well thought out and I will def give it a try!

Did he come from a fresh install? You may need to reflash the modem through ODIN.

Task killers are effective if certain system processes are NOT closed, ie things that will interrupt your service and shouldnt be closed, and if auto-kill is not enabled. I have pre-configured it for both of these concepts. It will only close what can safely be closed, when you tell it to.
Of course, you can just ignore/uninstall it too.
But remember, NEVER USE AUTOKILL.
One more thing... open ATK. Take a look at what it's ready to kill. Kill everything(including ATK itself). Wait 1-2 minutes. Open ATK again, and notice if anything that you just killed is open again. These are un-kill-able, and you're wasting battery trying, so simply add them to the ignore list. Best way to optimize a task killer. You also may want to set it to ignore your music, etc.

Hi all,
(I just joined today - hope you would go easy on me as I am still learning the xda etiquette.)
Just received my T-mobile HTC myTouch 4G slide and activated it on Sunday.
(Now before I jump onto my first impression of the phone, let me be clear - Till Sunday, I was proud owner of Nokia N900. I still love that phone. But I had to jump onto the Android bangwagor sooner or later since Nokia decided to to WinMo way. N900 was a solid phone with an unpolished/unfinished OS. Nokia never gave it a chance to mature.)
So, please keep in mind that I am new to Android as well as HTC and the phone itself.
Here is what I liked in my one full day of playing with the hardware and the OS/Software:
1. Android is fast, stable and polished, and enough apps to install one every day for rest of my life.
2. Phone is fast, not much stutter, has not crashed yet. Data connection is stable and voice quality is good.
3. UI looks, er, shiny (I do not give much weight to this, but apparently, a lot of people do, given popularity of 'certain' phones).
4. Keyboard is good. (one of the main reasons to buy the phone, as querty keyboard is a must for me )
Now onto negatives:
1. Lack of user control - though I have flexibility in controlling a lot of things on Android, there are a lot of other things which I really want to control but can not - i.e. uninstall t-mo / HCT bloatware (see my next point).
2. Bloatware - this was a shock to me. N900 is a clean device with no crap installed. T-Mo and HTC made sure I start hating my phone on day one by giving me pre-installed uninstallable crap. Not only I do not want them, it actually confuses me. I do not have a dedicated media player - but I have a 'Media Room' with T-Mobile TV and Slacker Radio (and none of them are complete versions). Bejeweled 2, T-mo backup, Highlight, Friend Stream - the list goes on, and I can not remove any of the app.
3. Android - no default file manager. Are you kidding me?
4. Contact - multiple entries from multiple sources (i.e. 411 & more is listed 4 times - one from google, one from tmo backup, one from phone and one from sd card). I know I can link them, or disable view of some of them, but god damn it - it's confusing as hell.
5. Camera - now don't get me wrong. The camera on this phone may be one of the best among Android/iphone phones, but where it gives you a lot of megapixels, the lens (and hence the quality) does not hold water against N900. Software can not make up for hardware limitations.
6. Battery - I almost ran out of juice before I even reached home from work in the evening - and that too from very limited use. Yes, I used phone for quite a bit, but without wireless/gps. I understand the display eats battery, but come on - shouldn't a smartphone be up on batter for one full day?
I will add more as I come across.
Please note that this is not a rant - there is some genuine disappointment with my first real hands on with Android/HTC. With the bloatware on this phone, I feel like I am being take advantage off, and I hate that feeling.
I am a linux user for 12 years (personally and professionally - as a programmer) and I consider myself a power-user (though not anywhere near Guru level), and so far, the phone has not given me even a default file browser.
I really hope to find more positive things to say, as I am committed to Android now that there is hardly any other linux-y OS out there.
Thanks
E
I agree. i havent upgraded since the G1.... i was very excited ... and first hands on was huge disapointment. bloatware, yes, and no skype video ...thats an android issue but none the less the phone seemed very unorganized and i was getting a billion messages from all over the internet with the bloatware subrcribing me to every little notification.
All of your problems except for "Camera issues" will be fixed as soon as S-OFF is available, and dev's will begin porting roms and developing roms. I expect overclocking to be tremendous with this dual core processor, since the mytouch 4g can now be clocked to over 2.0 ghz.
*If you want a file manager download astro from the market.
I forgot whether it requires root or not. If that one does, there are many other file managers just search.
Seems like the judgments are extra harsh and could all be solved by software, unrooting, etc. I'm stoked to be able to overclock to 2 GHz and then some. S-OFF on the MT4GS will be awesome!!!
There are many very good free media players/music players on the market (ex. Tinyplayer) . Same with the file managers, Astro is recommended. That's what the market is there for, as they knew dovelopers could provide the device with excellent applications.

It seems you have heard it right.
Apparently, I did not know:
1. Android 2.3.4 enabled voice/video chat for GTalk app.
2. I certainly did not know HTC/T-MO decided to disable it!
Instead, there is Qik Video Chat app from tmo. For some reason, they think it's equivalent to gtalk? *facepalm*
(Now I hope I am wrong, but I have checked all options on GTalk app, and I do not see either video or audio icon next to my contacts, even if they are available to chat on video).
Let me add that to another negative.

Thanks. I know it's pretty new device, and mods/root/s-off will be available soon. That's why I have registered here. I was just giving first impression of the stock device. Yes, I have already downloaded Astro (does not require root). Not much impressed, but gets the job done.

Yes, I know it would get resolved by software/unrooting. That's why I am on this forum. As I said above, these is my first impression of the stock device. And no - I don't think it's harsh at all. Sorry if I came across like that.

Sure there are. But my point is that there are some apps which should come by default on the phone as part of the OS (e.g. Google Search, Contact, Calendar are part of the vanilla Android), and File manager should be at the very top. Anyways, I have already downloaded Astro, and many other apps to play around with it.
I am definitely looking forward to get rid of the software as soon as I can. Otherwise, this baby will have to go back.
Thank you for your comments.

Skype is audio only. No video support.
I moved from a very old android phone so this phone has so far not been able to truly lag on me.
My last phone was regular android even with stock so that is what I wanted. I'm not one to modify my home screen at all. I like the default black 2.3 look and that's what I want. Not Sense.
The fact that I have to void my warranty just to remove it makes me furious. Of course I could bring it back to none rooted state for that. Regardless I think it's hilarious that a bunch of marketing folks think they know better then I do. Heh.
I've made Android apps before and actually code for a living so it's pretty easy to tell that it's a rushed job. The sense front end has no way to disable contact finding so your phone basically becomes facebook and puts contact suggestions directly into your notifications based on your contacts.
Every single "built in" application then requires you to then agree to the terms of service for that specific application. Things like "KidZone", "Highlight", "T-Mobile Mall", "T-Mobile TV". One of the silliest ones is "doubleTwist" which when opened shows you a splash that asks you to click a "Send Email" button which sends you a link to download the app. It then removes itself off the phone. Sounds like malware to me.
So some company payed off Tmo to put this app on my phone so they can harvest my email. Yay.

I'm personally hoping Blah and Sparks port PyroMod to the MT4Gs after root and S-Off are achieved. But that's just me, and I like to add as much memory as possible (A2EXT would certainly enable THAT).
Also, to OP, just wait until root is available and you'll see just how amazing Android can be. I recommend OI File Manager for a default one (this is the one preinstalled on Cyanogenmod-based ROMs). I switched to this one after too many buggy Astro updates and they started with ad-supported versions.

Please. Read the title of the post first.
I just realized something: Why hasn't the hacking/development community made a "status of root update" thread for the Doubleshot the way they did for the Vision? Permaroot and S-OFF are what's really holding me back from getting this device (PyroMod 2.3.5's speedy boot time on the Vision actually DOES rival that of dual-core phones, so I'm in no hurry to get it; I'm just asking why there isn't one).

I'm only LOL because I've never ported for this phone. I've managed to blind port other phones. I've actually had a good history porting the Atrix and having it work well, so with any luck, this will be another success.
Just wanted to make sure people really understood that this has not been tested at all. That's all

Ok....gonna upload what I hope is fix...LOL
Crappy wifi + big file = This may take some time
There are too many (LOLs) from the dev of this rom for any of us to test this out. He is flying blind on this and he doesn't even have an infuse. A Motorola phone is totally different. That should tell people something. You should have the person that wanted you to port this rom test it out first before sending a bunch of people into a catastrophe. I'm just trying to save people from having issues. Wait it out folks, there are plenty of other roms here to flash that have been tested and do work.

Don't see what your issue with me is
I already build MIUI for a phone I don't own, and have great success porting other roms to phones I don't own (CNA, AOKP, AOKPCB, and MIUI for Atrix). If you want to see how well my MIUI builds go on blind ports, ask someone using my build over on the Atrix.
I understand that you don't like my LOL, but I am a happy guy. I tend to put LOL when I don't have anything else to put...just a force of habit.
I figured I'd try to put up something that you guys could use. It's not going to blow up your phone. What catastrophe are you indicating might happen? Wow...boot loops. That's a really huge problem.
I DO know what I am doing with this, and wouldn't put something out if I didn't. If you want to check out some of the work I do, look at Kitchen Sink over at the Photon/Atrix forums. 5 roms and 100 options in ONE zip, all done with Aroma....and built by Jokersax and myself.
Edit: 6 LOLs....(one of which was explaining why I did an LOL) in this thread...that's a real lot....must mean I'm incompetent

I don't have an issue with you. You may be a great dev for the photon. The software for a moto phone and a Samsung phone are totally different. Im just trying to help the infuse community out by warning people about a rom that may or may not pan out. Who wants to spend the day restoring a phone? It wasn't meant to sound mean. Just a caution for people.

Believe me, that's why I put in the OP that I am a Photon dev. I blind-port for the Atrix. It's really not that hard to do, honestly once you've ported your own native device, as most of the same files go into each port from MIUI....and once you get it done right once, the future builds take less than an hour or two to get ported...
As for restoring....that's what nandroid does wonders for...but if this DOES work, it's a really nice rom that has some great options....not sure if you've used Aroma on any roms. It's really trick.

This phone is more of a pain in the ass for people than what one might think. I know how to get out of situations on this phone. Some people don't. I'm done with this. Hope it works but people be cautious.

The3Bill...sir try to understand which i believe you do....we here in the Infuse Community have become a small family....and when an outsider jumps in with a product...and since all here are not familiar with your work....some may not take it well...
We thank you for your efforts and we are not telling you to go away at all....but welcome you...
But as you know some don't read the op and jump feet first....but we will address those that have issues and thx for your understanding.
Maybe put at your title or beginning...the warning of untested...? I would make it a neon flashing sign...lol
Again thx
oZoP Development Projects are on the way!!!
ONE ZIP ONE PLACE
System Transition Animations mod
By flashing this zip you will be given a bunch of choices for different system animation style for screen/window transitions, keyboard/toast views and many others. You will get an additional option to tweak a little for unique styles!!
So I give you this, UNIVERSAL for MOST devices Aroma installer to give users the option for different choices!
This zip will work for MOST device running ANY Rom with ANY version Android 5.0+!
How to use the ozop-restore.zip to revert/recovery quickly without the need to restore or reinstall the whole Rom:
And just to be safe, I have included in my scripts and files a method that will create a flashable restore zip of your files before the mods does its thing!
The restore zip will be inside the new "ozop" folder that has been created and the zip is named "ozop-restore.zip"
If something doesn't play nice, just flash the zip and you'll be back to the way it was before you flashed the mod
NOTE: the script will delete any existing restore zips EVERY TIME you flash a new option, meaning that if you flash the mod again, your original system files will be replace with the file you flash previously!
If you want to have a permanent back up of the original file, you will need to rename the zip inside the ozop folder to whatever, just can't have the same name or it gets replaces everything you flash the mod
BUG REPORT:
Code:
MIUI choice causing boot issues for some users (works fine for me), so be prepared to you the restore.zip if needed. Will look into a fix for future releases
Report bug properly to get my support
Of course there are many way to properly report bugs and ALL of these ways have one thing in common, THEY ALL REQUIRE VERY DETAILED NOTES of the issue!
I'm moy goimg to go deep into how detailed you could get because lets face it, most people that report improperly are the ones who don't read and probably are going to read this! HaHaHa...
To get support from me I only ask for some simple things
1. What device, and rom you are running
2. What is the issue (no boot, fc everywhere, fc only certain app etc...)
3. Which option did you select
4. Did you get the install log
5. Did you use the restore.zip option to get back running
6. Do other choices share the same effect
That looks like a lot, but it really is the minimum amout of info need to troubleshoot!
Provide me that and I'll do my best to fix things and make this fun for everyone.
If you post things like
"Doesn't work", "bootloop" or anyone other similar post that have no value and help development is no way, actually these kinds of post only put development behind amd slow progress die the fact that anyone who cam help has to waste their time reading it!
If these kind of post ever come up, its best to ignore the lazy person and not clog the thread with flaming replies as that too slows development!
Anyway, I don't expect there to be many if any bugs! Been tested by myself and confirmed with users of this device!
Now grab the download and enjoy!

Actually I do have a few things in the works, but my main efforts are being directed towards my initial release of my LG rom.
Once that's out of the way, you'll see some more stuff from me over here!
Anything in particular you are looking for?
I do nee to break away from my Rom stuff from time to time for a break and am always open to suggestions.
Thabks for your interest.
Have a good one bro!

yeah and I can confirm I had the same issues :/
Tried on my Exynos Galaxy S8 stock rooted. Constant FC of several apps, including settings. Recovery zip does not fix it, neither does factory reset. Have to reflash and reroot. OP should update post.
It's good to provide video of these effects Thx for your work.
I met constant FC in several apps as well. Recovery zip doesn't help.
Hope OP can provide some solutions, thanks.

Look guys, I am all about development progress and supporting my work to help everyone have a good experience and enjoyable time using my stuff.
But I am not about doing things blind or fixing things that I can not troublehoot via a log or ability to recreate myself!
Check the OP for my instructions to get my support for issue#
just today in a different thread (right here in the S8 community), a Mod had to step in and give you a reminder of what XDA is about and what kind of posts are useful for development!
Do any of you see ANY helpful or useful info that I can use from your posts to help fix or even begin to look at fixing anything?
NO! Why don't you try reading and following instructions before leaving worthless posts in the future!
If you want support, give me something I can work with!
This mod os posted in several communities for different devices, including the S8+, has nearly 3,000 downloads and with the exception of a few post about issues, that are know and documented in the OP, the mod works fine and people are very happy with their results!
If the people here are all running the same variant and device, that could be helpful. I wouldn't know because mot one of you post any details!
If the version of recovery is the same and causing issues, that would ne helpful! But i wouldn't know because I have NO details about Rom, device, model number, option selected from Aroma, other possible conflicting mods etc...,
Normally I don't even reply to posts about issue that don't have details for me to work with, but this thread is out of control and I need to set it straight for possible new users that are being scared away by the worthless posts here!
This mod works fine (with the exception of the MIUI option)
The mod only makes changes to 1 single file of which a backup is made of your current working one and placed in a folder on your phones storage for later use if you do run into problems! It only keeps 1 backup, which will be overridden everytime you make a change. If the system in working prior to making a change, then the restore zip will work perfectly to bring you back. If you have issues and decide to select another option without restoring your backup, then you will not be able to recover using the restore zip!
If that last part doesn't make sense to you, then I can not help you and you should maybe reconsider making any changes to your phones system! I fear that is you continue to do so it is only a matter of time until you do permanent damage to you device!
I would like to ensure there are ZERO issue for anyone and the help from you is essential to achieve this!
I do plan to continue this project with and to expand the options to include new backup/restore option, build your own animation with individual options with various choices for fine tuning and of course the quickpick one click options gor full system animations!
Here is a more complete, but very short preview of the animations.

Are you high?
Go back and read the date and I made my inial comment. Go head I wait. Just in case ill use big words:
NEWS FLASH
THE OP WAS NOT WRITTEN LIKE IT IS NOW WHEN I POSTED
NO details or pics or anything but a bare boans thing actually more like simple Craigslist ad. The specific phones were not listed, and j remember a "you should be able to figure this out and it should work everywhre" vibe.
You did not make the op an actual useful read till much later
SECOND OF ALL
As if one wasn't enough!
I ASKED YOU IF YOU SUPPORTED SNAPDEAGON WITH SYSTEM ROOT. NO ANSWER
So now at this point I've a brand new system root,. Dev asleep at the wheel of his own. Post, and absolutely no guidance on whether I'm going to get chewed out for using it.
Guess WHAT?! I STILL WANTED TO USE IT, BUT DIDNT WORK.
I tried like 29 times if I remember right,no I don't remember what happened except it crashloop systemui. So I said to myself "oh well, it was worth a shot, if he asks because later for help with an s8 port maybe I could help."
So WITHOUT COMPLAINT, I went to home, and moved on IN Life. Didn't sit by the phone, but I was curious I admit
It was not for M O N T H S later thst I get a flippant "well did It?". OH SO YOU CARE NOW! Well it is a lite late for that to get actionable feedback from my last attempt.
SO TO SUMMARIZE
I adk If it works on
You ignore
Get abyaZy
Ask again Seven flippant non answers
Ignore
Try myself to do something,
Crashes, fcs, you name it it happens.
STILL NO WORD FRKM DEVS
Reinstall os
To be clear. I SAID NOT ONE WORD about the project, the fact that it did or did r work, I recommend it none nor streered jrbo Mee a
-- MONTHS LATER
Get asked about my experience, give honest report. Best I can remember since it was so long ago
GET *****ED OUT BY DEV WHO APPARENTLY PAY ATTENTIO. TO HIS OWN TINYTHREAD.
All you had to do was one iota of actual critical thinking, and you could have avoided all the foot-n-mouth-prickish bull****. Hell you could have just ASKED ME and maybe I would have reinstsalled it and tested again. Now that SamFail is out the door I I deal with a lot of repeat questions and "it don't wornk help" statements that can be frustrating, but you won't be seeing me treat users this way, much less than the ones who ACTUALLY DID THE RIGHT THIG
Wow!! really like this, and want to say thnx!! 2700 downloads, and only 10 thanks...
works perfect and as described on my s8. didn't try the miui option though. great job, thanks.
