Any feedback? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Does this look appealing to anybody else? You would have to use it in landscape and you just spin the wheel and it shows notifications from whatever app is on the left. I just threw this together in like 2 minutes after I thought of the it. Is there anything else out like this?

permanent notification light?

Is there a way to keep the notification light on the dpad (where the light goes around counterclockwise) on permanently without it only activating on things such as missed calls, new emails, etc.?

jw why would you want some thing like that? it will waste battery on a device that already has battery issues.
just trying to mess around with the settings and such. I don't really have many issues with the battery since I don't use it heavily. anyone know how?
The notification light has one purpose - to notify you that something happened ;-) Therefore I can't think of a reason why would one want it on permanently.
Anyway, I think this could be easily done by an experienced programmer (which unfortunately I am not). The question is if anyone would want to do it.
EDIT: My opinion is - don't touch anything that works well ;-) If you don't have battery issues you should be grateful. Let sleeping dogs lie ;-)
ahah yes i know. I'm just trying to see if theres like a setting in the reg or something where I can maybe change the way it blinks, when it blinks, duration (aside from the sounds/notifications tab), etc. Could also help if phone was in the dark, the LED lights would be useful..
anyone got some ideas?
any theories out theree? x_x
I'm interested to, because if we want to have a notification of operator signal, its a good idea.

run away finger scrolling

Has anyone else noticed this, or know of a way to fix it. On certain applications, like contact list, for instance. You use your finger to scroll down or up, and the screen just takes off. it eventually slows down, but only after skipping like half of the contacts. It also does this in a few other places like in the file explorer. It works really smooth when I use the call history tab or the program tab. Is there any way to correct this or is it just something you learn to deal with.
Well yeah.....I know what your talking about. Happens to me too. And well....I've made my peace with it...lol. It's probably the touch screen trying to differentiate between a tap using your finger and your nail. When you see your screen taking off that way, just tap the screen again...it stops right away.
Usually if i do it in my contacts i immediatly put my finger down on the screen to stop it and then i scroll a little slower
ya, I've made my peace with it too. It's not a big deal. I just figured someone mite have figured out a way to smooth it out. hadn't seen anything so I figured i'd ask. Definetly a small price to pay for this pimp phone.
You can modify its behavior like this:

[Q] Stop Battery full popup notification

(Sorry if this thread needs to be put anywhere else)
I have read a few different threads about this, and its mainly pertaining to the sound. And 'freezing the fullbatterypopup' in the systems folder does not seem likely, as I dont want to pay for the full version of titanium just for this issue.
This page says it all = http://www.xda-developers.com/android/stop-battery-full-popup-on-android/
But the link is dead. Is their aaany way at all to get rid of this annoying popup after the charge? I dont care about the sound, its the bright light that kills me. I use one night stand for a night clock and the phone's right next to me.
Im using Ultimate G2x ROM right now. (2.2.2) I switch between a few, but would like to know if theirs either a work around or a simple stop thats possible.
Thank You!
Stop battery full popup notification and others
I too have been STFA trying to find a way to stop this pop up notification as well as other secondary confirmation pop ups that are annoying as shat (are you sure? are you sure?) this may be fine for the masses that have decision making issues, but I don't need this crap.
Can someone please help in finding a way to stop some of these annoying pop ups, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
The only way to stop that popup is to install CM7 or another AOSP-based ROM.
Anything that's based on LG's ROMs will have that popup. No one has been able to figure out how to remove them from LG-based ROMs.
Yes, That is truly annoying!!!

[Q] Turn off "Flick scroll"

Does anyone know of an app or a way to turn off "flick scrolling". I'm not sure what else to call it. Basically I only want the screen to scroll when I'm actually touching it as opposed to when you can flick it and it will continue to scroll even after your finger has been lifted.
I did some searching around but most of the links I found were developer links. I figured maybe I'd ask around here and see if anyone has seen anything this.
( I'll be using this on a Kindle Fire - running KK in case that matters)
Thanks
Bruce

Alexa - anyone else?

First let me say, I have an Amazon Dot, and I love it. From playlists to appointments, trivia questions and timers, its great.
But on the phone it is driving me nuts.
For the Dot to work, I quite clearly have to say 'Alexa.' Then it works perfect;y. The phone on the other hand responds to, well I don't know what? If the TV is on and someone says, 'exactly'it opens. But 99% of the time I have no idea what it responded to. It comes on about 15 times a day to no really recognisable 'Alexa' command.

Yes I have seen that too , it isn't as helpful as assistant by Google
I have had Alexa pop up for no apparent reason too. (And on a few occassions, NOT pop up to "Alexa")
Seems strange that there's no Voice Training for it (unless I'm missing it?)
Anyway, the funniest one happened today: I sneezed - and boom - Alexa
Yep turned her off on the U11. Never worked correctly compared to the dot.
The only thing I don't like is everytime the Alexa commercial comes on the TV those 2 idiots keep making it pop up and I'm 25 feet away in my living room lol.

Hi guys,
I have Alexa switched off but on occasion Google Assistant switches on when nothing has been said, maybe that is the same issue as OP but it's not 15 times a day. It's more like why did my screen come on situation...
