[Q] Running Andoird applications on iOS? - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
Is there a way to run Android applications on an iOS?
I'm asking because I keep hearing about how Android is java-based so I though it might be possible that someone ported a java-based platform that can execute it on the iPhone.
It would be handy to be able to develop applications for Android and then just have them execute on an iOS platform if the users so wished.

[Q] How to start Android App development

Hi all,
I want to start android application development. Can you suggest a low budget way of doing that?
Can any android supported cell phone can be used for App development or there are some restrictions in phones for Development? If yes, then i can buy any low series basic used android phone and do App development.
Do i need to root and ROM access any phone to develop, load and test application?
Where can i find Android application framework architecture and basics of application development documents/ articles? I know developer.android.com has it but it is not starting from broader level to micro level. It is just talking about specific issues and directly starting Hello World. But i want to study about android architecture and fundamentals before starting.
Thanks.
The android SDK comes with an emulator, so that will help on the phone aspect. You definitely want to be able to enable sideloading of apps (install non-market apps), I've heard some carriers disable this. Root can be helpful in many situations.
Assuming you know java and are familiar with Eclipse, you mainly need to learn about the Android API.

[Q] Tizen future?

Hi everyone,
I was just curious to see if anyone thinks Tizen will make it as a mobile OS?
Between iOS, Android and now Windows Phone the market is crowded. All of these platforms have so much invested. Tizen, Boot to Gecko, Blackberry 10 (QNX OS) and the revamped, open sourced version of WebOS are all fighting to populate their platforms but is it a lost fight?
Is there any hope for these and other Mobile OS' to make an impact?
Can iOS, Android and Windows Phone hold their ground?
Voice your thought below, GO!
P.S. -------> Android is #1

[REQUEST] [DISCUSSION] Android Emulator on Android

I've kind of always wondered about this idea.
Imagine an app for Android. Now, this app is simply an android emulator. Running in a sandbox. (Similar to running a windows 7 emulator on a windows 7 machine. Seems pointless, right?) Wrong.
Much like Bluestacks and Memu, an android emulator can be configured however the user wants. Root, no root, resolution, model number, etc.
With a sandboxed instance of Android running within Android, users could achieve "root" on a non rooted phone. Per say. Again, sandboxed from the rest of the phone.
Android in Android. Android-ception.
Possible? Impossible? Limitations? Drawbacks?
Let me know.
Not sure if bumping is allowed... But *bump*
