I know this doesn't help, but honestly, the epic speaker volume is already pretty damn loud ... one of the louder ones I've heard.

Agreed. I actually have to turn it down it is soo loud.

Which volume settings are you referring to, ringer/speaker/incoming calls/music or video player?

Same here...notis are pretty low for me...

Agreed, notifications volume is far too low.

That would be nice
+1
But the others are good.

I'm using the bosses rom v.02 and the call volume on this rom seems lower then the stock rom or noobln v.3.

I second Vilume+, its a essentially SIGNIFICANTLY enhanced version of DSP manager
From what I have heard Voodoo Sound increases volume and makes music sound better as volume gets louder. Basically an amp. To run voodoo sound you have to have the right kernal installed. I think faux's 0.3.8 kernal works for a bunch of different roms including CM7. You can install voodoo sound from the market. If I'm wrong please someone correct me.
Both faux's kernal and voodoo sound have glowing reviews. Check the Development section for faux's kernal.
yes volume+ is good

Unless it's changed in the past couple of weeks, Voodoo on the G2x only helps with headphone/line out audio. It does not impact speaker sound yet.
Alright thanks guys, ill try those to see how it goes.
Volume+ works ok but I found it to be sub par with sound quality.

Just tried volume+ and still same for me:/. Going to be trying out some more to hopefuuly raise my volume up on audio.
Volume boost is a good simple app that does not distort sound quality. However it only boosts headphone volume, not ext speaker.

On volume + , the virtual room enabled gives the speaker a fuller sound.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Lol no it doesn't it just adds an echo to make it sound like it's in a big place.
Nvm guys it does work lol, i tried volume control + instead of volume+ lol, and its just what i wanted. Thanks for the help guys appreciated it
Does Volume Control + increase the volume more

Beats Audio and xLoud mod

Just a heads up to those who may not know, there is a Beats Audio/xLoud mod/port on the board and it works on the Atrix 2. Beats adds a deeper, cleaner bass and cleans up the mids/highs too. xLoud is a Sony Ericsson thing, it basically boosts the overall volume of ur audio. I just flashed this mod to my phone and holy ****, huge difference! I had to turn all my volumes down media/ringer/alarms. My good cans are packed (moving this weekend) so no testing with them yet but after hearing the difference I just heard with only the phone speaker I'm expecting to be very happy.

Here's the link to the thread for it....make sure to d/l and flash the 3.2.12 one.

where is the xloud .zip file?
Whoa - déjà vu!
xLoud is included in the zip.
Audio volume really is increased overall (I too had to turn everything down) and the beats makes the bass sound sweet!

Yep, very noticeable difference. This one is much better than the first one w/o xLoud.

Maybe its just me, but I can't seem to find a difference in quality using the car dock. Audio goes out the car docks 3.5mm jack to my Volvo s60r's stereo. I was hoping for some more volume.

So will this work with pandora ??? I love pandora but the sound quality is shaky at times...

I flashed the first beats mod without xloud, can I flash the xloud mod over it?
Sent from my MB865 using XDA
Yes you can, it will just overwrite the one you just installed.

Tried this tweak last week and it's great. My highs have come alive and it sounds much cleaner.
So how does the mod affect the Motorola stock equalizer?
I'm assuming the beats audio is only effective in the My Music app? So do I have to disable the "Effects" in settings to hear the Beats Audio? Or should I switch that to custom?
This work well seems crisper...... Did notice if the bass is overpowering the mids and lows go to sound settings and un-tick enable audio effects..... For me with headphones will set effects enabled effects profile custom surround ambient eq bass punch WOW!!!!!

Mine are....I have had to turn all my volumes down since installing this mod. I haven't done any critical listening since I don't use my phone like that anyway, I was just hoping for louder system sounds and that's exactly what I got. The Beats is just an added bonus.
Ok are we supposed to download the one that says older zip files test301.zip or the allandroidzip.zip that looks to be the newest?

Works great thanks! Sounds a lot better ican tell right away

Yea these are some of the same complaints I've heard about the actual beats headphones because they're made really for more hip hop songs and not a wide range of music the highs are where those headphones usually suffer IMO

Looking at the thread title, typing is crap on the phone as well. Mine sounds great through $5 monoprice earbuds...anyone thinking they are going to be thumping through their ultra thin smartphone speaker should probably be buying Beats branded products anyways.

Try Axiom S 1.5. It has Audio fx integrated with Beats Audio. Plus the volume on this rom is LOUD. By far the best sounding music of any rom I have tried here and I have pretty much tried them all.

[Q] Speaker Volume

Just upgraded to rooted stock rom vrbmf1 from stock rooted vrbmb1 and flashed vrbmf1 firmware. The only problem I have now is that none of my sound equalizer programs work. Specifically Speaker Boost the one I use most. The max speaker volume I can acheive now is way too low to hear. With Speaker Boost on vrbmb1 it was pretty loud.
I tried the insanely loud mod, which replaces the default_gain.conf in /system/etc, but it does not work presumably because media volume no longer looks for that file.
So, my question is can anything be done with the stock rom vrbmf1 to increase the speaker volume?

Thanks for the tip. Installed viper4android but it didn't make the volume any louder. But if I disable it the volume goes down so low it's hard to tell if it's on, even at highest system volume. I think maybe I'll just break down and try Scott's Bone Stock Rom. I noticed it has a volume booster built in.

Are you trying to stay with TouchWiz or would you go AOSP? If you'd consider AOSP, I'll recommend LiquidSmooth v2.7. Battery life is outstanding. Volume is actually pretty dang good also.

Doh! I forgot to disable Speaker Boost and it was interfering with V4Android. V4Android works great! Speaker volume is increased just like Speaker boost used to do, and headphone volume is insane. Bluetooth is much clearer with the tweaking to the settings I did.
I'm a happy camper. Thanks for your help.

I tried it with playerpro and power amp, no difference
It has incredibly loud and distorted sound
I know there's no problem with the phone because everything works perfectly in cm7.2 and miui v4
try lowering the volume?
For me 20-25% is loud and clear enough

It's not the volume, it is the crude music that's unbearable. The bass isn't clear, everything is incredibly high pitched.
I tried messing with the equalizer in power amp but it didn't help, neither did viper4android
