[Q] Exchange Help!!!!! - Epic 4G Android Development

have a Samsung Epic 4G, and the native exchange support it comes with will only sync 50 contacts for me. (I have over 1,000 contacts.) The Calendar, and email both work fine.
I have downloaded Touchdown from the market (Free Trial), but dont like the layout, and integration. Is there anyone that has ported the HTC Activesync out of the EVO? I am running 2.1, and I know my friends EVO had the HTC Activesync when he was on 2.1 and still has it on 2.2. he uses the same exchange server as me, so I know it would work.
Any suggestions on how I can install HTC Activesync on my Samsung Epic for Android 2.1???
Please Help!!!

HTC Hero & EasySync ?

Hi,
After several happy years with my P3600/TyTn I am quickly falling in love with the Hero. It seems to have all I need (plus a lot I like), but does anyone know whether EasySync Pro works on this device/OS ?
I use EasySync to sync my (employer's) Lotus Notes calendar, email and contacts with the P3600. Would not want to miss this functionality in future !
Many thanks in advance
Sync Lotus Notes with HTC Sync on Hero
HTC Sync v 2.08 now supports synchronizing contacts and calendar info for Lotus notes. I just synced my Notes calendar to my Sprint HTC Hero. It does not transfer the attendees, but at least you get all the other calendar information (date/time/place). Im not sure why they don't advertise this when they mention outlook.
HTC Sync can be downloaded from HTC's website. I think this is the cleanest and freest solution to an android device. I had read about using companion link and don't like the idea of sending all the data to google's servers first.
Forgot to mention. I also used Easy Sync Pro with my Touch Pro and Mogul. Easy Sync only works with a windows mobile device or the old Palm OS. So ... NO, you cannot use it with the HTC Hero.

Outlook / Andriod Calendar & Contact Sync!!

Wanted to share a recent discovery for syncing Andriod and Outlook (I am using 2007). Up until now I have been very disappointed in the various sync options for someone like me who is on a corporate network using Outlook and who has an IT group that does NOT allow syncing via cloud for any software that uses MSExchange server Active Sync, like RoadSync and TouchDown.
I have been using HTCSync which is not too, too bad, the big issue is that it messes up my phone #s like my (919) 123-4567 989 (this is the extension) after syncing with HTC was changed be to (919)123-4567989. I also had issues with syncing some Outlook appointments, especially recurring and also issues when a co-worker deleted an recurring appointment, it would not always allow me to delete this from my calendar. Bottom line...lots of weird stuff using HTCSync, but until now the only real USB sync option.
Add to this, I do prefer a USB sync option, yep USB and MOSTLY doing so w/o having to load a special software on my Andriod phone like Markspace or The Missing Sync or Companion Link require. I only want to use the integrated Andriod calendar and contacts programs NOT something special.
With all of the background, I strongly encourage anyone with similar needs, especially a USB sync option, please check out Andriod-Sync at this link
http://www.android-sync.com/
Amazingly, the cost is $0.00.
Also, if you want to see the various sync options check out this link

Hope this is helpful for the XDA corporate guys that use Outlook, came from WM6.5 to Andriod 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and have been looking for a good USB and non IT controlled sync option.

It is syncing....will keep you posted when done
Thank you!!!!!!!! This should be a sticky!!!
Awesome app, thanks for the link
Thanks
I too have been struggling for MONTHS trying to find solutions to the Outlook/Android sync or the Thunderbird/Lightning and Android sync issues.
My biggest struggle is actually the task manager. I use Outlook Tasks, interconnected with events, contacts and emails extensively to track major projects, etc. I still can't find a reasonable and truly functional option.
If anyone out there finds something...let us know!!!

I'll try that app.
I have a AT&T Fuze (Winmobile 6.5/Energy) that I use with MS Mobile Device Center as a bridge between Outlook on my MS Exchange Server at Work and Outlook 2007 on my Windows 7 laptop & desktop at home. The system works like a top. Lately the display seems a little small however. I've been looking at an HTC Thunderbolt (Android) with the HTC sync application and several after market sync applications. Windows Phone 7 is off the table because of a decision by Microsoft not to sync with it's own product, Outlook. Is there an Android app that is a clone or better of Windows Mobile Device Center? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks
As for a clone to windows device thinga ma bob?
Check out
My Phone Explorer for Android. Google it.
I have not tried to sync using this other than for pictures.
Re Android vs. WIN7?
I switched from a Pure Energy ROM to my At&T Aria, and now a HTC Desire Z with Android GB 2.3.3, never thought I would like Android like I do, bit man oh man, way nicer than WinMo.
Thanks for your help!
MyPhoneExplorer Android is working fine with my SGS2. I used it yesterday to sync my iPhone data to my new Galaxy 2.

it's no longer free. the trial version allows 20 contacts to sync. if you want the full version it is $20.
Hi -- I am looking for a one-way sync, Outlook 2010 x86 to Android. Do Android-Sync and MyPhoneExplorer support this?
I'm trying "local sync" from http://www.psencik.cz/local-sync.
Another option for me.
Omg! Thank you!
I got depressed thinking I was going to need to return my new Samsung Epic. If this works I think that everyone on the google platform that uses direct sync should crown you king of awesome!

A How to: Make HTC Mail work with Hotmail (Active Sync)

Hi guys,
I have been wondering on the internet for days now looking for a solution to solve the problems going on with HTC Mail with sync-problems using Hotmail Exchange Active Sync. I am talking about the not getting the mails to sync with Hotmail being read/unread from your phone and deleting e-mails. Moving and pulling e-mails works just fine with the Gingerbread version.
Now, I have found a solution on accident on how to solve this freaking annoying problem so we can all continue to use HTC Mail with it's nice widget. See if you can get your hands on the Moxier Mail application through Applanet. Install it, and set it up with your Hotmail account. It's important to leave the Hotmail Active Sync account in your HTC Mail and do not delete it. Make sure Moxier Mail syncs with everything, including your mail, contacts, calendar and tasks. Wait for it to finish, then send yourself a test-mail and open it through Moxier. After that it's okay to uninstall Moxier now. After uninstalling you'll find HTC Mail's sync problems are *poof*, gone!
This has only been tested on my HTC Desire running 2.3.3 InsertCoin. Please try it out yourselves if you're camping with this problem and post up the results and your phone model.
I hope this solves a lot of headaches. Happy trying .
Regards, Slisher.
P.S.: You can always PM or e-mail me regarding any questions.
Worked on my HTC Desire HD (running 2.3.3).
Might get to try on a HTC Wildfire S in the next few days.
doesn't work for me on HTC desire HD.....

[Q] Problems after upgrading to stock Android 3.5 ROM

Hi,
Since I upgraded my stock Desire S to stock Android 2.3.5 (HTC Sense 3.0) I have the following problems:
- My phone is always on Edge, although my operator supports HSDPA also (before the upgrade I regularly saw the "H", now it's always "E"). I can not find any setting for this...
- I have a hosted Exchange account, but since the upgrade my mail doesn't synchronise perfectly anymore. For instance, when I read an email on the phone, it does not show "read" anymore on my Outlook as it did before. But when I delete an email on my phone, it does get deleted on Outlook automatically...
- I can't change the "new email" notification sound. In settings/sounds/notification (could be a bit different - I translated from my local language) sound I have selected another sound, but this one doesn't sound when it should sound... I always get the (annoying to me) "standard" sound...
Anyone else experiencing these problems also? Any solution?
Thanks you very much for your time!
Same problems with Exchange 2003 Server and Desire S Version 2.3.5.
2.3.3 works fine, but after Update:
Calendar changes never sync, and emal status (read/unread) don't sync until a new mail received.
HTC knows the problems but it seems they have more interesting to make some new kiddy feature than to fix bugs for business clients.
you can help yourself by installing the origiginal android mail.apk. This will work fine.
Thanks! But where can I find that mail.apk ?
Here it is
Thank's but the apk doesn't fix the calendar problem. Does someone has a solution for this?
Still no solution for this problem from HTC. So I tried the app called Enhanced Email. It integrates the calendar in the original HTC calendar. Calendar changes always sync. This works fine for me!
