[Q] Problems after upgrading to stock Android 3.5 ROM - HTC Desire S

Hi,
Since I upgraded my stock Desire S to stock Android 2.3.5 (HTC Sense 3.0) I have the following problems:
- My phone is always on Edge, although my operator supports HSDPA also (before the upgrade I regularly saw the "H", now it's always "E"). I can not find any setting for this...
- I have a hosted Exchange account, but since the upgrade my mail doesn't synchronise perfectly anymore. For instance, when I read an email on the phone, it does not show "read" anymore on my Outlook as it did before. But when I delete an email on my phone, it does get deleted on Outlook automatically...
- I can't change the "new email" notification sound. In settings/sounds/notification (could be a bit different - I translated from my local language) sound I have selected another sound, but this one doesn't sound when it should sound... I always get the (annoying to me) "standard" sound...
Anyone else experiencing these problems also? Any solution?
Thanks you very much for your time!

Same problems with Exchange 2003 Server and Desire S Version 2.3.5.
2.3.3 works fine, but after Update:
Calendar changes never sync, and emal status (read/unread) don't sync until a new mail received.
HTC knows the problems but it seems they have more interesting to make some new kiddy feature than to fix bugs for business clients.
you can help yourself by installing the origiginal android mail.apk. This will work fine.

Thanks! But where can I find that mail.apk ?

Here it is

Thank's but the apk doesn't fix the calendar problem. Does someone has a solution for this?

Still no solution for this problem from HTC. So I tried the app called Enhanced Email. It integrates the calendar in the original HTC calendar. Calendar changes always sync. This works fine for me!

Windows Live Messenger

hi guys,
just wondering if the latest version of these ROMs is the final release of windows live messenger?
If so, does this fix the issue with the contacts synching ?
Thanks
Stu
contact sync??
What is the problem do you want them to sync or not? mine sync's ok and has on all the wm6 ROM's that i have installed.
not sync. I read that in the final release of WLM this would be fixed, however i'm running ROM version 2.00.02 (not sure WLM version) not even sure whos ROM it is I flashed that long ago!
But even though the tickbox for syncing contacts and messenger is not selected when I attempt to sign in it warns me that it'll be synced, if I click cancel it doesn't sign in, clicking ok signs in but adds loads of contacts to my phones address book.
I was wondering if in the latest released ROMs this has been fixed before I go through the hassle of installing a new ROM and setting everything up again for it to do the same.
Thanks
Stu
Infact I might just install a new ROM this week anyway, was back in february when I installed this one lol
Its not being fixed, that's the way the new live mobile service works.
not being fixed?
so why is there a tickbox to choose whether u want to sync the contacts or not :S
By default having the contacts synced is quite silly and I can't believe they'd do that. It's like the desktop messenger synching the contacts with outlook or outlook express.
Stu

help wanted!

I have a branded HTV magic Vodafone.
For business use, i want to have the same Mail AND Calendar (exchange syncable) as the HTC branded version.
I tried a lot of ROM's but always with the same effect, no exchange syncing only gmail. finding a mail program that works is no problem, but it seems that the exchange calander is nowhere to be foud.
i installed Roadsync, and tried Touchdown but it is not the calendar i am after.
i want to have the original HTC version. i have read many threads, googled my fingers blue, but nope...
i might have overlooked a thread or a link, but has anybody, anyone got the HTC calendar, or a calender that syncs with Exchange?
i found it!
Finally, after installing ROM no 20, jacheroski 1.5 i have my Exchange agenda! W00t! it's still slow, but he! it works!
So I take it your problem is solved?
A suggestion to help you get better support is to have your post tile more describing. And even updating it when it is solved by marking it solved.
In my opinion that would help the community.

[Q] Android 2.3.5: Problems with Exchange

Hello everybody,
yesterday I updated my Desire S to Android 2.3.5 via the regular update process (no modified ROM or something like this).
Since then, some messages, which are marked as read in OWA and outlook, remain unread on the phone. Even starting the sync process manual via pushing the sync-button does not change anything on the "read-state".
It does not happen with every message, lets say about 50 percent of all incoming mails. I already deleted the exchange account on the phone and on the Exchange Server 2010 and started with a new account... doesn't change anything.
Do you have any idea? How can I look for the reason of the problem?
Thanks a lot.
Same problem with my HTC Desire S after update to 2.3.5. Updates to my e-mails in Outlook are not reflected on my phone. New e-mails are send
Ive got the same problem.
Already made a ticket with HTC Denmark, they had never heard of the problem - So please contact HTC for your country so we can get this annoying bug fixed.
Stuck with Enhanced Email for now...

[Q] Email app broken since Android 2.3.5 & Sense 3.0 update..

Hello everyone,
I've experienced some problems with the built-in email app since the update..
Ive got it configured with 2 exchange accounts (private and corporate), and the problem is basically inbox sync.
If i, on my pc or webmail, mark as mail as read/unread, move it, delete it, whatever - it gets synced to the servers np, and to the Enhanced Email app(installed to test) - But the built-in from HTC does not see the updates, my inbox gets new mail, but the existing mails is not synced to other folders or marked/deleted.
Anyone else experienced this? And maybe got a fix?
Best Regards,
Similar problem
I've had a similar problem, the exchange accounts could not connect to the server.
So I removed them, deleted the settings for the Mail app and reconfigured everything.
A factory reset would probably solve this to.

Email not sync'd properly.

hello,
Is there a solution for my exchange mail not syncing properly? The problem is that new email syncs fine, but when I change a mail in Outlook on the laptop, the change in most cases does not sync to the phone.
Some info:
Android version :2.3.5
Kernel version : 2.10.161.3
Can anyone help me? What do I need to do? Flash a custom ROM?

Are you using Exchange mail? Outlook is delaying changes, I've noticed it too. Eventually they go through, on the next change. I'm blaming Outlook, because sometimes forced update still doesn't bring the changes, but if you do something else in Outlook and/or force-update it - it propagates to the phone.
Hi Jack,
Sorry, but I believe it is.something else.... When I use another client on my Desire (like thunderbird) the changes sync properly. However I would like to keep the stock email app. Problem seems primarily in the inbox. When I move a mail from inbox to another folder, it is present in both inbox and the other folder on my Desire S.
