Hello,
last weekend I gave xAndroid a try on my O2 Diamond Pro (aka HTC Raphael). Everything seems to work very good so far! Wifi and Phone work. Amazing work so far!
But I am unable to get the XDA running xAndroid connected to my Windows Vista. Running on Windows Mobile the phone gets connected to my Windows-PC. Running xAndroid I am unable to install the Android/ADB Driver to attach my Android-Phone using USB. The USB-Dev-Mode is enabled!
I was using the tutorial of this page and recently I updated to the latest modules/rootfs/initrd images from there.
http://xdandroid.com/wiki/Main_Page
Does anyone have a clue how to make the XDA+Android make my Windows Vista detect the USB-Device?
Is it possible to use the USB to connect the XDA without WiFi to Internet using my PC (as known from Windows-Mobile/Active Sync using USB-connection). I also would like to try any kind of PIM-Sync using the USB-Cable as WiFi/Bluetooth are taking too much power off the battery.
For WM-Sync I am currently using Birdiesync + Thunderbird/Lightning. Is there anything else than Google-Sync that may work for Android? I would prefer a "local" solution (f.e. local server on my Windows machine).
Best regards
Gabriel

OK - so ive downloaded intellisync and installed it but for some reason it doesnt want to comunicate with my PC or XDA - any ideas
Was it not meant to run on a XDA I or am i just dumb?
The reason why i switched is because of MS AS inability to actually copy all of my inboxes, absolutly pathetic IMHO
is IS any better?
It would get half way through and then disconnect itself, then i ahve to power on and off again (my XDA) and it would get hung on the same spot - or email i guess, where do you find the settings for IS? adn what wizard should i be using?
I switched to IntelliSync as well because I could not get ActiveSync to connect as anything but guest. No problems with connecting to my XDA (make sure that the IntelliSync PocketPC portion is insatlled), works great from home and work. I did have problems using with my PC mainly because IntelliSync does not work with the new outlook versions (I think 2000 or 2002 is the newest it works with).
Well, just got hold of the Blackberry Connect Client V4 and installed in on Windows MObile 6. Install is fairly slow, but gets there in the end. Took a while for the BES to send all my messages across, but calendar, contacts and notes syncing is working well. Less painful than the HEX edits etc that people use to get older versions working.
Oddly the device now turns itself off when power gets below 30% - maybe theres a way to change this. Alos, due to my corporate IT policy I don't see a blackberry browser in the blackberry software. Anyone know how or if its possible to install one? Apparently with V4 you can use the MDS server for mobile data as with the blackberry device.
BTW, got the client, desktop manager and manuals etc from http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=225
Now if I could just get MDS working ...

BB Connect - Desktop won't connect to device
I was trying to get my Universal to connect to the Blackberry Connect Desktop for Window Mobile Devices. I followed the install guide and from what I can tell it seems like active sync is still blocking the device from talking to the blackberry software. When I disable the USB connect option in activesync the device cannot be seen from the laptop at all.
I am using BB desktop software is 4.0.0.17 and BB connect software on device is 4.0.0.67. Active sync is 4.5
My understanding is you has to activate using the desktop method and it can not be done wirelessly. I did try wirelessly and I get Service: "not connected".
Any help or ideas are appreciated.
Blackberry Desktop Manager USB Driver
Wrong forum, sorry
on some devices you have to go into the registry and change the AKU to 0.4.2 can someone verify I am scheduled to pick up a Universal this week and need bbconnect capability
Hi All,
I'm running Windows 7
1. Suddenly my Windows Mobile Device Center Failed to recognize my phone and connect to sync. After some troubleshooting I realized the "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter Driver" Failed to work correctly Saying "This device cannot Start (Code 10).
I uninstalled the driver in the Device Manager and attempted to Search for the Driver again after a Restart, my phone was again found while attempting to Sync but once again during Driver installation it failed and gave the Exclamation Mark stating an issue and sure enough it is the Code 10 error again.
2. This exact same issue happens when attempting to Tether to use the Phone as an Internet Modem. The Network Adapter driver to Tether is "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device" and it also doesn't install fine anymore. So no Tethering for me via USB.
Now, all the above happened suddenly while using the Internet Tethering with no issues. It simply disconnected and then that was the end of that.
Let me tell you to what Extent I went to try to get this to work. I re-formated my hard drive and re-installed Windows 7. And NOPE it didn't work. Windows Mobile Device Center is properly installed and that is when all the drivers are provided, during the WMDC installation. Once WMDC was installed, my phone was found, the Activsync feature and the Internet Modem feature, and the driver installation attempt happened, The correct drivers were found, but they just weren't Installed successfully as explained above. I'm currently browsing the internet using the Bluetooth PAN Internet Sharing, which works wonderfully with no issues.
But I really need to get the above two items working again, otherwise I can no longer connect my phone via activesync or better said WMDC for Windows 7 to Flash a New ROM.
Now so that nobody thinks it's a problem with my phone, I have three other computers where I can connect via WMDC and Tether via USB with no issues. But I'm having trouble with my Dell Inspiron 9300 which gave me no issues for Months until now.
I considered myself very computer savvy but at this point I'm really stuck!
Any help?
Thanks in advance,
Raudel

The Windows Mobile Device Center that gets Installed is the one with Windows Update. So it must be the correct one with the Win 7 Drivers.
Thank you for your reply.
Any other ideas would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

i have the same problem with win7 and HTC touch2
i cannot solve the problem with HTC touch GSM everything is OK
any Help !!!!
I'm also getting this problem. It just began after a hardware upgrade. Microsoft remote adaptor cannot start. I have tried re-installing device centre numerous times and i cannot get device center to recognise my phone.
It works fine in disk drive mode however.
Edited to add that my device is recognised fine on other machines. So it is an issue with my PC. Interestingly my wireless usb adaptor won't work either.
I had a similar problem, found a solution online. There were some issues with Intel P55 chipset, it sync up immediately after BIOS update and reboot.
Hope this makes your day, best of luck.
I've searched the developement thread, general thread and haven't found an answer. My Windows 7 X64 box doesn't recognize the phone. I've rebooted both the phone and computer, still no love. My sdk is up todate and have googled for the drivers but just get links to join other forums. Just got it today in the USA, could it be the phone wasn't supposed to be released yet? Any help will be appreciated.
I'm not sure I follow. Device drivers for what function? Mass storage device should be supported without extra drivers. For HTC sync, Internet sharing from pc, etc, you need to install HTC sync, which you can find on the SD card that came with the phone or on HTC website. Bluetooth functions require drivers from the maker of your Bluetooth transceiver or pc.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I put this in the other thread where you asked. Download HTC Sync

[PROBLEM] Issue with internet sharing from PC to phone via USB
Hi,
I don't want to start a new thread, because this one is similar to my problem.
I have HTC Sense, and when I connect it to PC and select "Internet form PC", my PC gets a blue screen.
I've installed HTC Sync provided with microSD included to phone, and when i connect phone with PC via USB with HTC Sync selected - everything is OK, phone synchronizes data with Outlook and stuff... But, when I want to update some data in my phone via Internet from PC (during HTC Sync connection) - my PC crashes and gives me a blue screen
What is going on? Does any of You have same issue?
I have Windows XP Professional 32bit with SP3
Could someone help?
Thanx in advance

About a year ago i sent an e-mail to HTC asking just that, at that time they did not support Mac's, and after that i just forgot about it...
Exactly what do you want to accomplish by connecting your phone to your mac?
If it is just to access the memory card it should just work.
I think if i remember right i wanted mostly two things, tethering through usb and managing contacts, the first one is solved easily by using wifi tethering, and the second one is much easier to do by always create your contacts on google(not sim, not in phone memory), and then you can just arrange them in your google account using a computer, that also means the next time you have a Android phone, your contacts will always be backed up and restored whenever you register your new phone with your google account(for market).

I'm also looking for a Mac driver; ever since rooting my phone using Revolutionary my computer no longer recognizes that the phone is connected, and the phone doesn't recognize that the computer is connected. I've also tried it on my Linux and Windows machines at home and neither of them work either. The problem is with the phone, not the desktop OS.
Any ideas? Sounds like it would be a driver issue, but I'm not 100% certain.
EDITED: I rebooted my linux machine at home (first time in months!) and it does actually work there. But it seems to have lost the mac and windows drivers. I don't care about the windows one so much, but I use a music syncing app called DoubleTwist that AFAIK is not available for Linux. (Plus, my iTunes library is on my work Mac.)
Hi
I own a HTC Snap phone, running WM6.5 and without a touch screen, which seems to be a lethal combination (for example, the XDA facebook app will not work on my phone).
When using a windows XP laptop I simply connect the phone via USB and use it as a modem, but I assume this won't work on the Android tablet.
So I'm trying to find a way to share my 3G connection to my Android 3.2 tablet.
The default ICS app is useless - the tablet doesn't see the phone either when sharing through WIFI (I understand Android will not recognize ad-hoc wifi connections) or when using BT.
I tried installing the trial of wmwifirouter with the same results.
I tried the XDA ICS app (I think it was a port of the HTC app) and couldn't get it to run, probably because it was expecting a touch screen input.
Is there any way to solve my dilema without replacing my phone?
Thanks
There used to be an app for WM called wifi hotspot. If you could install it on your phone, the tablet would connect to it via wi-fi.

I'm 90% sure that's the one I tried that didn't work because my phone has a keyboard and no touch, but I'll try it again.
Yep, it's not working on the HTC snap.
