Try to transfer them to sim card , then copy to winmo n delete from simcard

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any way that I can back up all of my sim contacts to my computer (preferably to an Excel sheet). I have a HTC Wing, (Windows Mobile 6). I want to save all of my phone numbers from the SIM card just in case I ever lose my phone.
Thank you very much.
even better would be like on the ericssons and nokias back up to mem card.
I have an HD2 which is running Android using a microSD card. Is there some way, I can run the current install of the HD2's Android on my PC from the microSD? Make some changes and then put the microSD card back into the HD2 and have those changes show up?
Go goal I am trying to achieve is, I am trying to import my iPhone SMS using the SMS Backup & Restore app. But the importing of the SMS takes many hours, and I am unable to complete the task because I run on out battery, even when connected to a charger when battery if full. Please refer to this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820290
The reason battery drains is because I have prevented the phone from going to sleep. If the phone goes to sleep, the importing task freezes and doesn't resume.
So is there some way, I can just connect a microSD card which currently has android installed to my PC in order to carry out the sms importing and then put the microsd card back into my HD2?
Hello, I have an LG Fathom (winmo 6.5.3) and there seems to be something wrong with my SMS, when i receive messages they are automatically saved to the sim card instead on the phone memory, when the messages reach about 30 or 40 there will be an error saying the sim memory is full, if i dont delete any sms my phone wont be able to receive sms which is pretty annoying
is there a way to set my default storage for SMS to the phone memory? thanks

Try modifying the following keys:
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
" [AttachPath] "=string:\Storage Card\Inbox\Attachments
" [PropertyPath] "=string:\Storage Card\Inbox
Note :
1. For the paths above to work, you need to create the folders prior to initiating this registry change.
2. Do not remove the storage card while you are using the Messaging application or it is running in the background or you may corrupt the attachments or the Inbox.
let me know if helps
i tried your method but it doesnt seem to fix the problem, anyways thank you very much for replying
i also tried editing the storage card part so that it would save it to the phone memory but still no luck
anyone who can help? i tried hard-reset but still nothing
Might be something with ur sim... since u already reset the cell u could always flash to a factor/custom rom ro reset it again just in case the 1st reset was didnt completely correctly. Back in my wm days ive found the app sktools to be useful...it may have a tweak that could help.
I was recently given a Htc mozart by a friend who had cracked the screen and bought a new phone, they said I could have it but would like their photos and vids off it so if I could back it up (easy as pie I thought!!!)
The phone charges and functions fine (I changed the digitzer) but when plugged into a pc it displays usb unrecognized error code 43 (malfunction?). I have tried multiple cables, laptops and even os (xp, 7 32bit/64bit and osx), I have searched the internet and have seen some suggestions on wiping the phone (but I don't want to do this until the data is backed up) also looked at reading the micro sd but found you can't by conventional methods.
I have also tried multiple apps - boxfiles, sendstuffnow, sharefile (they seem to allow one photo at a time but not videos), I also tried emailing them but again I can't email vids and the phone has over 500 pics! tried bluetooth and also yivosoft but it doesn't seem to be able to view the files (root access required??), tried a few other programs such as ftp and they just state the phone needs to be updated via zune (currently running 7.0.7004.0).
I was thinking of sticking another microsd card in and formatting it etc just to see if it is then recognised in windows and poss update the firmware then put the old micro sd back in? would this work or is the firmware stored on the micro sd card and also if not when I update would it then state the old micro sd needs formatting or something? If anyone has any suggestions on how I can get the pics and vids off it would be greatly appreciated! I am an android user and this is my first experience with a windows phone so if I am way off my apologies. Thanks again
For sure don't mess with the uSD cards. They're locked to the device (the "S" in SD stands for "Secure" and refers to a rarely-used ability to lock an SD card). Even if you managed to make the card usable again, the data on it would be gone. Also, yes, the OS is at least partially stored on the SD card, and your switch-update suggestion would not work.
WiFi sync would work, but if that's not already set up you'd need to connect the phone to Zune via the USB to set it up. There are some homebrew apps that would be able to lift the files easily enough, but unless you have something lile TouchXplorer or Advanced Explorer installed already, that's not an option (you need USB connection to install more homebrew).
Sorry, man. This is one of the reasons why I plug in my phone to my PC every day or two and sync it; the tiny amount of time it takes is worth the reassurance. I realize that doesn't help now, though...

Thanks for the reply, know what you mean I back up regular also but my friend didn't. I can't believe its so difficult to transfer the files without the usb connection :S also can't believe the updates are no ota :S was hoping there might be a method of unlocking the phone for homebrew like there was with the iphone at one stage. Ah well back to the drawing board unless someone can come up with any other ideas!
Hi everyone,
last night i was initializing a huawei ascend g300 by inserting a sim card which has 175 contacts in its list.....i went ahead an synchronised first the phone with the gmail account throught wifi but had diabled auto-sync and back ground applications too....then went ahead and copied all those contacts to the gmail account by manage contacts>copy contacts>sim to gmail account and after that there were two contacts each name appearing hence thought i would delete and copy it once again from sim card hence i deleted all the contacts.
After deleting the contacts it came to my attention that i had accidentally deleted sim contacts along with the contacts which i had copied to gmail. All i needed to do is go into view setting and uncheck the sim and the phone such that only the gmail contact would be displayed.
I already tried the restoring of contacts from gmail account as the auto sync was disabled hence no contact was synchronised on the gmail servers
The phone itself is new hence i dint took the back up so that option aswell seems to be out of context now......
I am having the sim card data recovery software but do not have a sim card reader currently in search of it..will keep you posted furthur.
Isnt there anyway of using the phone as a sim card reader...or the sim slot at the back of lappy....as the sim card reader..?
I want to restore those contacts is there any way around it.....?
Any suggestion...advice would be immensly appreciated coz im in deep trouble...
contact deleted
not even if i get a sim card reader and if i try recovering it from that application.....?

update
hey everyone,
yesterday on my way home from office i searched and bought the sim card reader.....lol.....which i thought would be the difficult part
and then i installed that very software named sim card data recovery and its totally a bummer.....
a) it is not at all a data recovery software cox it do not recovers anything...its merely a software which would be handy in reading the present data "on the sim card" for those who have the phones without the facility of reading the Contacts and SMS stored on the sim card...perhaps its "no where close to reading the deleted data".
b) as it was demo version it do not even give a trial period all it does is it inserts "DEMO" after every word in the messages and where ever it feels comfortable enough to make it even more frustrating.
Infact the tool which came along with the drivers of the sim card reader i bought was both free and better in performance than that software for which they are asking us to buy it from them....
My recommendation never fall for such softwares its the waste of both time and money....Its nuin but just a hoax and a very bad one.

Stop giving advice when you have no idea what your talking about.
If you deleted them for the sim as you found out they are gone if you didnt back them up. Words to live by. "Always make backups of your backups"

You can recover lost, deleted or formatted files from Android mobile phone like this:
1. Do not save any new files into the memory card of your phone.
2. Connect it with computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter
3. Download Android Data Recovery into your computer.
4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your files.

That will not work for 2 reasons.
1.the file that controls your contacts is a database file. So it is edited when a contact is removed or added. So there is nothing deleted.
2. The file even if he did delete it manually, is stored in the system partition which is not mounted when you plug into a pc

Please tell me the official STOCK android version number and Baseband of Huawei G300
To mamoid : I am from India also . I need the official Stock version number of android and the baseband number of the phone when it was released here in India. If you have ever downgraded back to official rom etc , and thus know the download link of the official rom too , then that would be helpful too. I need it to repair my phone .
