Hello, I have an LG Fathom (winmo 6.5.3) and there seems to be something wrong with my SMS, when i receive messages they are automatically saved to the sim card instead on the phone memory, when the messages reach about 30 or 40 there will be an error saying the sim memory is full, if i dont delete any sms my phone wont be able to receive sms which is pretty annoying
is there a way to set my default storage for SMS to the phone memory? thanks

Try modifying the following keys:
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
" [AttachPath] "=string:\Storage Card\Inbox\Attachments
" [PropertyPath] "=string:\Storage Card\Inbox
Note :
1. For the paths above to work, you need to create the folders prior to initiating this registry change.
2. Do not remove the storage card while you are using the Messaging application or it is running in the background or you may corrupt the attachments or the Inbox.
let me know if helps
i tried your method but it doesnt seem to fix the problem, anyways thank you very much for replying
i also tried editing the storage card part so that it would save it to the phone memory but still no luck
anyone who can help? i tried hard-reset but still nothing
Might be something with ur sim... since u already reset the cell u could always flash to a factor/custom rom ro reset it again just in case the 1st reset was didnt completely correctly. Back in my wm days ive found the app sktools to be useful...it may have a tweak that could help.

Hi,
I have a problem running scheduled programs on my device. Let me explain further. I installed a third party alarm program (third one so far) on the storage card and set it to ring the alarm at a certain time. When I tested it manually, it worked without a hitch. But the next morning, instead of ringing as it was scheduled to, I got a "cannot execute "/Storage Card/<exe name>".
The same problem happened when I scheduled PIMBackup. I set it to back up my device everyday. On the first day, it would show "cannot execute /Storage Card/<exe name>", and it would not show anything subsequent days and it still doesn't run.
I tried putting PIMBackup on the device instead of the Storage Card, but the same problem occurs.
I have no idea what is wrong or what is interfering with the scheduler but the same thing doesn't happen to others apparently.
Any expert can help me out here?
I'm using a HTC prophet (dopod 818pro)
WM5, ROM 2.2
Getting schedule items in Storage Card is generally a 'no no' thing to do, as it takes time for the storage card to switch on. Hence, you'll get messages as said. Anyway, as for your stuff not running on the device, I would suggest you to uninstall your PIMBackup and check the notification queue yourself (e.g. using Task Manager) for any possible PIMBackup that may be pointing to the storage card again. Then reinstall and try again.
Works

Hey, you're right. I removed PIMBackup from the Storage Card and reset the scedule from the device itself, and now it runs without error. I never knew there was a problem running scheduled items from the storage card, but now I know. Thanks for your advice!

Sounds like a shortcut was created in the windows/start up folder. See if this holds true, and delete from the start up folder if the executable is there. Installing on your storage card should not be a problem. All my programs that are scheduled to run at certain times are installed on my storage card. You may need to re-install the program/s.

I recently upgraded my Defy to CM7 but when I try to make it import my contacts from the SIM card it says there is none.
I'm sure there were some contacts there since I used that SIM card on an old phone, is there a way for me to get these contacts back ?
ps: Unfortunately my contacts weren't on my google account, for another reason, so there is no way to get them there.
The same thing has happened to me but I deleted them from your phone happens to me sometimes when I turn off or reboot. However, not have them stored on a file in memory card?
No, unfortunately I don't have any kind of backup, that's why I wanted to know if there isn't a way to check if those contacts are still there, or some kind of tool to get them back.
What I don't understand is how they disappeared, I never deleted them or messed with the SIM options.
Sorry for the shameless bump, but...anyone ?
Hi Folks,
I installed WhatsApp Messenger on my Desire S, and a day later, it said, "The Date and Time on your device is incorrect!", although the time and date was correct. Next thing I know, my SD card (Samsung, 8Gb came with the device) was non-existent! The phone kept saying "Removed SD Card. Insert a new one."
I purchased a new 8Gb Sandisk, but that too is not recognized in the phone. One one or two occasions, it said "SD card corrupt. Please reformat."
Having checked on many forums, I found that WhatsApp could be the problem app.. I have uninstalled it, but no luck. Tried everything, except Factory Reset.
My Desire S is not rooted. Have the latest of updates, kernels, whatever....
Am a noob, so please tell me if any additional info is needed regarding my phone and the software...
Thanks in advance
Rajan
As for watsapp, my locale time is malaysia which i did not change at start-up setting after flashing a new rom over it(it was preset to greenwich). I installed watsapp and restored previous messages and had the same error as u.
- Did u fiddle around with the time/backup prior to this error?
Have u try formatting the sd card on ur pc?
Are u still under warranty? If yes restraint from rooting it. Just do a factory reset(back up ur app using astro manager / backup contacts using google / back up whatever else u feel important such as notes, dates, sms, etc), if problem persist, then return it.

Dear Rain987: No I didn't change any time or date on my phone. I just ignored and dismissed the message. I haven't tried formatting the sd card, because I tried inserting a new Sandisk 8gb card, but that too wasn't recognised.
This morning I did a factory reset, having backed up whatever I could. Still didn't work. Neither the old card, nor the new card is being recognised. Still getting the same message: "SD card removed. Insert a new one."
Thanks
Rajan

Hey Peeps!,
I'm having a similar problem with my htc desire (this problem occurs almost weekly) "sd card mounted read only". Usually a factory reset or re-format would sort it. This time neither my desire, wildfire s, blackberry torch or my windows laptop would recognize it?? how can i format if nothing detects the sd card?? the phone does detect but says mounted read only (also cant unmount as that option isn't even available) but nothing else DETECTS its there???? i am a noob so any detailed help would be much appreciated.......Thanks
I also face this
Hello

Update on WhatsApp problem
Hello
Update: I surrendered the phone to HTC in Pune, India, and they said that the phone was water-logged! The motherboard needed to be replaced, and it will cost Rs 11,000 (Indian Rupees)... The original phone cost me Rs 22,000
I refused, and found a 'hacker' who said he would repair it for Rs 1,500! I agreed and it's done It turned out that the HTC guys were actually right - a part of the motherboard had shorted out due to perspiration which seeped in through the earpiece...
The 'hacker' replaced a part of the m'board with another part from a Motorola m'board
My HTC Desire S is as good as new now.
But truth to tell, WhatsApp is still giving me trouble. My friends tell me that my status on WhatsApp (online or not online) is often wrong, and the messages arrive very late.
Thank you
Rajan
Hi everyone,
last night i was initializing a huawei ascend g300 by inserting a sim card which has 175 contacts in its list.....i went ahead an synchronised first the phone with the gmail account throught wifi but had diabled auto-sync and back ground applications too....then went ahead and copied all those contacts to the gmail account by manage contacts>copy contacts>sim to gmail account and after that there were two contacts each name appearing hence thought i would delete and copy it once again from sim card hence i deleted all the contacts.
After deleting the contacts it came to my attention that i had accidentally deleted sim contacts along with the contacts which i had copied to gmail. All i needed to do is go into view setting and uncheck the sim and the phone such that only the gmail contact would be displayed.
I already tried the restoring of contacts from gmail account as the auto sync was disabled hence no contact was synchronised on the gmail servers
The phone itself is new hence i dint took the back up so that option aswell seems to be out of context now......
I am having the sim card data recovery software but do not have a sim card reader currently in search of it..will keep you posted furthur.
Isnt there anyway of using the phone as a sim card reader...or the sim slot at the back of lappy....as the sim card reader..?
I want to restore those contacts is there any way around it.....?
Any suggestion...advice would be immensly appreciated coz im in deep trouble...
contact deleted
not even if i get a sim card reader and if i try recovering it from that application.....?

update
hey everyone,
yesterday on my way home from office i searched and bought the sim card reader.....lol.....which i thought would be the difficult part
and then i installed that very software named sim card data recovery and its totally a bummer.....
a) it is not at all a data recovery software cox it do not recovers anything...its merely a software which would be handy in reading the present data "on the sim card" for those who have the phones without the facility of reading the Contacts and SMS stored on the sim card...perhaps its "no where close to reading the deleted data".
b) as it was demo version it do not even give a trial period all it does is it inserts "DEMO" after every word in the messages and where ever it feels comfortable enough to make it even more frustrating.
Infact the tool which came along with the drivers of the sim card reader i bought was both free and better in performance than that software for which they are asking us to buy it from them....
My recommendation never fall for such softwares its the waste of both time and money....Its nuin but just a hoax and a very bad one.

Stop giving advice when you have no idea what your talking about.
If you deleted them for the sim as you found out they are gone if you didnt back them up. Words to live by. "Always make backups of your backups"

You can recover lost, deleted or formatted files from Android mobile phone like this:
1. Do not save any new files into the memory card of your phone.
2. Connect it with computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter
3. Download Android Data Recovery into your computer.
4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your files.
Click to collapse
That will not work for 2 reasons.
1.the file that controls your contacts is a database file. So it is edited when a contact is removed or added. So there is nothing deleted.
2. The file even if he did delete it manually, is stored in the system partition which is not mounted when you plug into a pc

Please tell me the official STOCK android version number and Baseband of Huawei G300
To mamoid : I am from India also . I need the official Stock version number of android and the baseband number of the phone when it was released here in India. If you have ever downgraded back to official rom etc , and thus know the download link of the official rom too , then that would be helpful too. I need it to repair my phone .
My wife has just acquired a GT -18150 from her sister and after clearing the old info I transferred the contacts from her old Nokia to the samsung phone memory and all seemed to work well but today the contacts are only available from the sim card memory but not the phone memory. My grandaughter was trying to alter the font size for messaging and may have done something else. How can I ensure that the contacts button uses the phone memory rather than the sim card? I still have the contacts saved on the pc so do I need to reinstall them or is there a way of making the phone use the phone memory?
