search is your friend.

Edit: As stated in the first post the drive mappings are different - external SD is /sdcard and internal sd is /emmc
This has implications for Titanium Backup when you try to restore your USER DATA (user data only, don't restore system data)
Copy the contents of /emmc/titaniumbackup to /sdcard/titaniumbackup using Root Explorer or similar.
Titanium will now see all of your old backups.
Thank You
Yea I know I should of searched more.. I'm just really busy lately and dont have much free time... Thank you for the post back...

[Q] help with nan backup!

i have a rooted phone and on my current rom im allowed to move about anything to my sd card so i was wondering whats the difference between doing a nan backup and just moving certian apps to my sd card? im planning on upgrading my phone and i dont wanna lose my apps and specially my bookmarks. so any help would be really appreciated. thanks very much.
Hi,
I'm a neebie but i think i have the answer to your question.
With a nandbackup you backup your ROM, not your apps. It's used in order to restore your old ROM if you have a problem whan you change or upgrade it.
If you just want to backup your apps, sms, contacts use an app as Titanium Backup or Mybackup. I use Mybackup since two years and i never had any problem.
Hope it will help you
Nandroid backup is the same as a system image on your PC. It's a snapshot of the entire system, OS+Apps.
Aright thank u buth. Ill try mybackup as im not worried biut my rom. Just worried bout my apps and such.
when your making a nand backup, you can also backup your apps by making a nand+android_secure backup. or you can use titanium backup to back up your apps

Transferring apps between devices

Hello I want to transfer all of the apps I have on my rooted Vibrant to my new Toshiba Thrive.
I have Titanium Backup on the phone and have not yet rooted the Thrive.
I assume I have to root the Thrive first, after that, whats the process.
I appreciate the help.
Thanks
1) root new phone, install titanium, make a full backup, move backup to cloud or computer
2) copy folder with Titanium backups from old to new phone
3) run Titanium on new phone, start the batch job "restore missing apps with data" and pick the apps you want to move over
4) if everything works OK make a new full backup of everything
Don't move system apps from one phone to another unless you're sure they're compatible. If you accidentally change something that shouldn't have changed, use the backup that you made in step 1.
Had the same question!
Thanks!!

[Q] a little confuse about nandroid against link2sd

i'm new around here. so, sorry if ask something same before.
i decide to ask many questions in one post instead of posting them in multiple postings. please answer these in order
1. i've done nandroid backup with cwm 6. i know nandroid backs-up all files in internal storage, but did it include all files in my external sdcard?
2. i have both app2sd and link2sd. as long as i know, app2sd move 'portion' of your app into external sdcard, right? whereas link2sd move 'all' app into ex-sdcard, and just leave link in internal only. (cmiiw).
so the my question is:
what happen with portion of app in external sdcard by app2sd (or app in ex-sdcard by link2sd) when you do nandroid backup? because i think, if nandroid doesnt include files in ex-sdcard, all portion or app in ex-sdcard will no use anymore right? so that, when i recover my nandroid, all of my app will FC. is it correct? (honestly i never do recovery with nandroid backup, so i ask these before somethng bad happen)
3. app2sd vs link2sd.
i got bit confused about em too. i have an example:
consider i move a portion of an app, named "app X" (for instance) to ex-sdcard by app2sd. then, i wanna use link2sd to move that app X.
so the my question is:
do i have to move portion of app X which i've done with app2sd back to internal? (bcoz i think app X will be intact again) so then, i may use app X with link2sd? (bcoz i think this steps will avoid app X to get FC)
i do search my answer on google, but bcoz the complexity of my question  , i found nothing.
please explain to me guys, coz i dont know to whom ask these
my phone:
samsung wonder gt - i8150
version: gingerbeard 2.5.6
status: rooted
cus rom : none
cwm 6.0.2.3
bump
you're very kind to let this thread alone -__-
thank you
