Edit: As stated in the first post the drive mappings are different - external SD is /sdcard and internal sd is /emmc
This has implications for Titanium Backup when you try to restore your USER DATA (user data only, don't restore system data)
Copy the contents of /emmc/titaniumbackup to /sdcard/titaniumbackup using Root Explorer or similar.
Titanium will now see all of your old backups.

Yea I know I should of searched more.. I'm just really busy lately and dont have much free time... Thank you for the post back...

[Q] help with nan backup!

i have a rooted phone and on my current rom im allowed to move about anything to my sd card so i was wondering whats the difference between doing a nan backup and just moving certian apps to my sd card? im planning on upgrading my phone and i dont wanna lose my apps and specially my bookmarks. so any help would be really appreciated. thanks very much.
Hi,
I'm a neebie but i think i have the answer to your question.
With a nandbackup you backup your ROM, not your apps. It's used in order to restore your old ROM if you have a problem whan you change or upgrade it.
If you just want to backup your apps, sms, contacts use an app as Titanium Backup or Mybackup. I use Mybackup since two years and i never had any problem.
Hope it will help you
Nandroid backup is the same as a system image on your PC. It's a snapshot of the entire system, OS+Apps.
Aright thank u buth. Ill try mybackup as im not worried biut my rom. Just worried bout my apps and such.
when your making a nand backup, you can also backup your apps by making a nand+android_secure backup. or you can use titanium backup to back up your apps

hi iim baby jesus,
Why not backup your apps using Titanium backup?
I prefered/trusted this app to backup my device, works great
Btw, try re-check your sdcard, make sure that Backup apps folder still exist.
maybe u accidntly delete or format ur sdcard.
Do full nandroid backup is recommended before switching ROM!
Easy to restore your previous ROM and avoid from ur data or bla bla bla lose accdntly.

Whats the best way to backup apps & settings when using custom roms?

Still having wifi issues with ALexanders Miui for X10, and wanting to know any advice on the best way to save/restore apps so that I dont have to start fresh on every minor rom update... Thanks!
Titanium Backup is really good for that, backups app data and the apk to your SD for when you need 2 restore apps.
havent heard of that one,.. i think i'll look into it.. sorry, im not the OP but i was interested in it aswell.
Titanium Backup
Thanks, titanium backup looks the goods.
Can you usually restore apps okay when going to different roms?
Apps yes, it just installs the apk. Data, depending on which data and ROM yes. I've backuped everything when using ARHD and never had a problem restoring everything when I wipe and upgrade it. When I put on MIUI I didn't let it restore all the data, just a few things to get call logs, save games n stuff.

[Q] Rooted Phone

Sorry i am a noob so please excuse me if i sound stupid ..
Well yesterday fr the first time i rooted my phone ..then i swapped my internal to external memory as well ..Now i want to flash a custom rom on so
do i have to swap the memory to original again ?? or will it still work on my phone ?? Secondly how or which app is easy to tack back up to ..
any help advisable
thanks
NOOB
Titanium backup will back up apps and delete bloatware you dont want....make sure you do a nan back up in recovery before you do anything ....in case you delete something you shouldnt
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
titanium
I second the recommendation of Titanium backup. The option to have it roll up all your current settings into a .zip makes it really easy to have everything back up and running after you flash.
