Football/Soccer Scores Push Notification App? - Android Apps and Games

I tried nearly all the apps on the market I think from livescores to fatmob to scoremobile and not one of them has working notifications on my HTC Desire. So when a team scores I have no idea unless I manually check my phone. Is there any app that can play a notification sound when a team scores in a league i pick etc?? I think there isn't an app available or just android doesn't support this feature yet not so sure which.
Used to love my My Football Pro for iPhone and seriously regretting upgrading to HTC desire from the iPhone now as cannot get a simple app to keep me in touch with scores around the country. I don't mind paying either if it's good.

There was a fair few that were good last season! I use Soccer Livescores, haven't actually tested it this season mind

Will try it.

FotMob actually works on my non rooted Froyo-Desire.
Just enable the specific games you're interested in and you'l get instant notifications. It's not quite "push" but it updates every 30 seconds while the game is on.

maybe because you spelled it wrong
just try "Soccer Scores - FotMob" http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.mobilefootie.wc2010 - 30 sek-goal-notification-updates worked for me for the German Bundesliga last weekend.

[APP] Radar Now

i'm so new to android, i'm still wrinkly.
here's my 1st weak post.
i was traveling the other week using the Sprint Navigator. when i ran into a storm. i used - Radar Now - to let me look at the size of the storm to see if i wanted to stop driving or not. it was nice to see how big the storm was.
i did have 1 problem with Sprint Navigator. it would stop running from time to time. not sure if i was just kicked off ever 300 miles or not. signal was good each time i got kicked off. uhmmmmmm
please bear with me as i'm old (54) and and don't know crap.
Well Google bab works great

if ya knew i still don't know about ROOTING i could be even younger.
I wouldn't worry about it; there is no correlation between age and rooting!
Until a Froyo ROM comes out, where EVERYTHING works perfectly, I will wait to Root..If Froyo comes out soon, officially, then I probably wont bother..
Love the phone just how it is, using Launcher Pro instead of sense..

Google Nav is good but I like to keep Sprint Nav around too. I have been in some locations (San Antonio for one) where the Sprint Nav worked much better.
For radar, I bought WeatherBug Elite and it has a radar widget. The free version may have it also.
I am 45 and not always the sharpest knife in the drawer but I learned Android pretty easily. Downloading androidSDK and learning to use ADB commands will get you 99% of the way there!
yes, i tried the Google Nav and liked it too. thanks.
the Radar Now app allowed me to get info i wanted with one touch to open it. need to keep my eyes on the road as much as possible.
The weather chanel had radar in motion on a google map style overlay. Very nice.
now that i missed. thank you very much.
Weather elite also has a radar widget that follows you

Someone should make a thread for users to post their times to vs.
The main reason I bought the Xperia Play was for this game as it chugged too much on my Desire. A little disappointed to find out that DD:FW doesn't support the hardware controls, so be prepared to pay $10 for DD:SW.
Since installing DD:SW I'm loving the hardware controls, so much easier to play (and no falling off). Not played online yet, so can't comment on the number of players there.
I must say I was a little concerned that I was buying a non-dual core device but every game has run perfectly so far. Not run any benchmarks yet but DD runs sweet on this device.

this is the thing i have a quad core sitting in my pc does it utilize it? nope!
I came from a Samsung galaxy S supposed to be better is it? nope!
great having a dual core phone, but why? worse battery and performance you cant really use. IMHO the play works just fine all games run sweet and that's why i have it, when the systems go down at work (weekly) i pick up my play and waste a few minutes genius
Just a quick question. Does anyone notice that the camera angles in first wave and second wave are different? Like in first wave it's a little more over the shoulder and second wave is more top down. I find it hard to play second wave cuz I can't see the enemies far away. Thanks in advance.

Haha forgot to mention that I did try pressing sel a few times but it just makes it more "top-down" perspective. What I meant was that the camera angles are actually different between first and second wave and I can't get second wave to have the same perspective as first wave, no matter what options I change.
2nd wave is top down only.

It's a great game but it does get to be laggy at times, especially when a lot is happening, like when a lot of enemies appear or if you have a lot of towers in one area and they all start shooting at once.
I agree about the camera angles, it is a bit annoying not being able to see that far away, especially on bigger maps.
Except for that, love the game
Great to see ppl actually play online. I got bored playing on my own, specially on some of the levels where it rains the TNT mobs!
Anyway was thinking about trying to set up a weekly game? thinking every Sunday at 6pm GMT - this should allow most people from different time zones to play, most of Europe and the US should be able to get on.
Anyone up for that?
I went to play online and magically I went up to level 20 from 5 XD

Google’s “Longest Day Deals” Offers Up $0.99 Cent Apps For One-Day Only

From TmoNews...
Help Google mark the summer solstice with their “Longest Day Deals,” a promotion reducing several popular Android apps all the way down to $0.99. Highlights include NBA Jam, Grand Theft Auto III, Draw Something, Shazam Encore, Mass Effect: Infiltrator, and more. Better act quickly as this is a one-day-only deal so don’t waste any time thinking about picking these up, just grab them before the sun sets.
Thanks for the heads up.

They had a few decent music albums worth a purchase. It's a shame I can no longer use Google Music on my phone, though, since I've flashed too many ROMs without first being warned that I wouldn't be able to re-authorize my device after too many flashes. I'm going to have to put those on my phone the old fashioned way.
I didn't see much for apps worth purchasing, though, but I did get Mass Effect.

Do we have a browser yet?

I know this isn't Android anymore, but has anyone pulled/ported the stock Tizen browser from Tizen OS? I assume it would be easy enough to sideload this to the device via USB Debugging, right?

While we wait, can you share what you think would be a useful scenario where pulling up a webpage on a tiny watchscreen will be more convenient than just pulling out your phone and doing it that way? I'm really curious and maybe you have a great idea I haven't considered.
Some kind of situation when you want to check things without hands free? Checking live train times while carrying luggage or checking football scores while it's raining perhaps?

Either of those scenarios you just mentioned are great, but voice commands w/ S Voice would be more useful (if it can even do this - I know Google Now can get me this info from my phone, but S Voice on the Gear currently just comes back and says "sorry, we couldn't find the answer to your question".
Also, if your hands are full, what makes you think that opening up and typing a web address on the watch's little screen will be "hands free"? You can't even interact with the watch without touching it with your other hand.

How would you navigate an app or browser without using you hands/fingers? Your football score scenario is already accomplished via ESPNs Score Center app. It can be configured to send notifications based on team preferences (i.e. notify of scoring plays during your fav team games).
And now that I think about it, if only the Google Maps app could be configured to send turn-by-turn notifications, we would sort of have GPS on our Gears.

oh I forgot about the turn by turn functionality - Pebbles can do this, even though I never got a chance to use it since my phone is mounted on my dashboard. Would be useful when walking in a city, though - without keeping your phone out. The problem of course is the watchscreen turns off again and you have to touch the watch and navigate to the app again to see the next direction.

Yep, and shortly after I posted this I came up with an article about that Pebble feature... however, it seems it is limited to the iOS version of Google Maps because it is able to send normal push notifications for each turn.
