Hi, need help guys.
My milestone screen is flickering in a very weird way and responding to touch in an even weirder way. Can't really explain without the vid. Please help.

Bumping. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Had the same problem with an ebay-bought Milestone and we are not alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9InoVXeIP-Y or google for "milestone touchscreen ghost"
After a couple of reboots it got better an now it's been running without problems for some hours. But I think, i will send it to Motorola as a warranty-case, because randomly the problem comes back.

Guys I had the same problem with the original 2.1 from Motorola and, in the meanwhile, the virtualkeyboard typed twice a character (sometimes). Since when I flashed a custom rom (Eclairmod, Telus 4.1, FlashLight and so on) I haven't this problem anymore...

My touch screen stop working when I turn the phone upside down.. Not sure if this is the same problem.
Haven't had this happen. I've only had the auto rotate stop working.

Honestly that's a really great idea if it was a feature. Think about it no more accidental answer/deny when pulling it out of your pocket if you put it in upside down. And how often if ever is the phone used upside down. I'm calling for a patent on this one!
I have this issue.
I have this issue and it goes far beyond the keyboard. I will be playing fruit ninja and half the screen will be unresponsive. Its happening quite a bit and I am thinking about exchanging my phone.
Same here
I've been having the same problems but I think it has only happened to me when I use custom ROMs such as Cyanogenmod or Coredroid. When I went back to stock I don't remember it happening.
I was running Coredroid V8.1 a few weeks ago and didn't like it because the font looked terrible but I think the keyboard didn't give that problem, it was with an older version of CD. Right now I am using Cyanogenmod 7.0 and it happens a lot and gets annoying. I now for a fact that is not hardware since the keyboard will work normally on landscape and other stuff will respond to the touchscreen.
Still trying to see if there is some sort of fix or to use a new keyboard. Installed GO keyboard and same thing happened, now using Swiftkey X and it happened also but now I took the protective case to see if that has something to do with it LOL.
edit: disregard.
ive had this problem also for awhile. i dont remember having it on the factory rom, but that was awhile back also. ive had it on every custom rom that i can think of. i used coredroid and cm7 for awhile. right now im using miui. ive tried 3-4 different keyboard at least, and had this problem with all of them. the keyboards accuracy also seems to decline. when switching to a new keyboard the problem initially goes away, but it eventually starts doing it again with the different keyboard.
I would try come non CM based roms as I have seen this come up a few times and the omr thing most have in common is that it shows up on CM based roms like MIUI. I have never had this issue on any sense based rom so that would lead me to think like wifi and Bluetooth that it is due to the non OEM drivers CM uses.
Coreddroid is a sense rom, and I had it back then. I've been using absolution, which is cm7 based, and have not since had the problem. The problem has also been reported to occur on non rooted, stock phones.

Nevermind that, I still have it.

Strange suspected faults.

Hi people, I got my desire s a few months back and it seems that it has developed a few faults.
1: the hapatic feedback on the keyboard and the capacitive buttons has gone quite weak. I have 2 work mates who also have a ds and this doesn't happen in theirs.
2: the messaging application force closes quite frequently. Tried factory reset but problem still persists.
3: the rubberised panel on the back of the phone (the one that surrounds the camera lens and flash) seems to be lifting on one side.
Has anyone else encountered these issues?

No one else experienced these issues? Sorry to bump but need to know if it is a problem or a setting I'm not understanding correctly.

I wish i could help you, but my phone is pretty new.. have like 1 month, and i dont have any of the issues you mentioned.. so i cant tell.
The only fault I have experienced is the Messaging app forcing to close a lot. That's why I want a custom ROM ASAP!
I have also noticed that the text messages do not appear in order when looking at a thread of a certain contact.

[Q] Screen not turning off

Anyone else having a problem when trying to turn their screen off? My screen turns off and then immediately turns back on and brings me to the lock-screen. I have to press the power button 3-4 times in order for me to turn the screen off and keep it off. I use a case, but even with the case removed this still happens. VERY annoying, any help would greatly be appreciated!
EDIT: This happens to me on every rom I flash, I've used ARHD, InsertCoin, Pyramid3D, Sense-O-Maniac, and am currently running Hypernonsense. Same problem persists throughout, so I'm guessing the rom is not the problem
That is a very known issue, if you are on stock rom and recovery, you would be able to download an update from HTC, (if you live in Europe or USA) that would "delete" the error.
I'm having the same issue as well. Although it's a small little error, it can get annoying/irritating. My phone is fully updated from HTC and I'm having this problem.

I take it back. There is an update, lol. It's checked under automatic updates and it never told me. The other times it has, though

[Q] Weird stuff happening without touching screen or softkeys

Hello all,
Today I received my Nexus S, it was a demo model but it looked perfectly fine and I got it cheap.
Now while installing the phone it was doing some weird stuff but I thought well, maybe I'm touching the softkeys. But now sometimes the phone behaves like there are all types of softkeys being touched without touching the phone at all. The phone also vibrates like the softkeys are being touched.
Maybe someone knows this issue and knows how to resolve it?
The phone is still running 2.3
Thanks in advance
Can be closed, send the Phone to retailer and it has been replaced with a new one.
Still dont know what the problem was but I'm satisfied with the solution.
The digitizer is messed up

[Q] Android Keyboard crash/freeze/not sure tbh

Hi,
I occasionally have serious problems with the (stock) android keyboard on my xoom. It just stops inputting the text I type into website fields, even though I can still see the keys flashing when pressed. Only switching the device off and on again fixes it. What can I do without going through all that?
I have looked through all the similar threads, but lost patience when I couldn't find anything that matched this problem exactly
- Device: wingray (MZ604 US GED)
- OS: Stock JB 4.1.2 (it used to happen on 4.1.1 and ICS as well)
EDIT: On a totally unrelated note, who (admin, etc.) do I talk to about a possible username change for this account?
Hey, need to bump this as the problems as above still persist and are actually getting worse now. I clear the data out of the keyboard app regularly, but that does nothing!! as I may have to sell the Xoom soon, it would be nice if it didn't end up coming back to me because of a range of scary keyboard lags, freezes and glitches, so...help please

Are you stock? Rooted? What room?

Stock jellybean, as above, still.
It has to be said, this sometimes even happens on my phone running 4.2.2; occasionally I get the odd weird input issue. I'm starting to think android just dont allocate enough space for the keyboard app :/
