so here's my problem......
I have a HTC Touch Pro running windows 6.1 and when i go to add all my music to media player library it finds the files but wont addto the library!
There's a 32gb card in there so i know theres plenty of space, iv deleted the files WMPinfo both on the card and phone, iv also deleted the folders MSMETADATA from card and phone (which retuns once i click add to library) iv done a hard reset, a soft reset, iv converted all my files to Mp3, iv converted them to WMA, on my computer iv downgraded from wmp11 to wmp10 then to wmp9 then back up again iv downloaded other media players both for computer and device.
IV added the tracks through active sync and explorer drag and drop, iv try'd just the music then the music in folders, renaming the folders and i still cant get the F"$£*^g thing to play music
if any 1 at all can point me in any direction i would really really appreciate it b4 i loose all faith and hope in pda windows phones and buy an i phone (which i dont want to do)
thanks in advance

Hi fellas, I have the titanium Windows 6 on my MDA, I am unable to play *.WMV or MP3 on it..
Basically i couldnt find the Media Player at all..
However, I am able to play MP3 via the Phone Ringer (by selecting the Ring Tones)
Unfortunately I cannot download the same from Microsoft Site as it says all phones come with this application.
Also....The Midi files are not playing as ringtone any more..
PLEASE HELP.
I screwed up
Bcos I didnt Media Player, I tried to use a different ROM and I screwed up.
I didnt reliase that I need to CID unlock the device everytime..
My MDA is in the Splash Screen and I tried going to the Boot Loader it shows USB in the bottom..
But I think I have to pay and get the IMEI unlock and also purchase a MiniSD card.. .. Will update again once I pay and get the things I need to bring this back to working stage..
Till then any help is appreciated
You can use TCPMP 0.72RC1. Is freeware(under GPL) and is better than Windows Media Player. Support Video, music... But under WM6 not working playing WMA, this solve my patch ( http://www.okias.wz.cz/tcpmp/files/language.tgz - copy to tcpmp folder and replace old language.tgz).
Hi, I just upgraded to 6.1 and ran it for a week or so.
I just notice yesterday that after upgrade, WMP won't play MOST of my videos anymore. I have like 50+ clips on storage card, and WMP only plays maybe five or six of them. I browsed the video folder using "pictures and videos" and only those five or six showed up.
What's the cause of this? I tried rebuilding my library but that does not work. This problem does not occur when I upgrade from WM 5 to WM 6.
do the files still exist on the card, but not the media player/ or does the card not have the files any more/ or have the files become corupt (possibly flashed with the card installed)
I ususaly use a different player for vids because WMP does not support a lot of codecs.
Look for TCPMP on google. that will play almost anything, and you can install codecs for it.
the files exist on the storage card, even the movies list showed up in WMP's library (50+ videos in WMP library).
but when I click on play, wmp keep skipping to the next track, something like it recognizes the file type, but cannot play the file (as weird as it sounds, that's what happen) . Some videos still played ok though (5 or 6 out of 50+).
When I opened the video on WMP on previous ROM (WM 6) they all played ok.
The OEM packages used by some to cook ROM's are missing either files or registry settings. I use an OEMAPPS package that includes all the related files and registry settings from the AKU 3.3 T-Mobile ROM, Lockstream DRM files and registry settings excluded. I don't know exactly what needs to be fixed, but it's one of those two things.
Hi there,
Is there a way to force windows media not to update a library with a certain folders music, I have loads of music I want separate from my Windows Media library. I don't want to go through the library deleting music I don't want there every time I update it since its a bit of a pain.
E.G: My music located on the storage card I want to update into the library. But I don't want Misc Music also contained in My Music to update to the library.
I am using WM6 on T-Mobile MDA Vario II. If this is not possible are there any workarounds?
Thanks in advance

Not any that i know of, but i would really like to know... i have all my music on my memory card but the ringtones are still on the phone, and since wmp finds the ringtones it starts with the phones media library as standard, i dont like changing it at every start up
I have the same problem. I want to random play all my songs on my storage card, but I really want to exclude my audiobook/radio drama files!
Yet I also want easy access to play those files when required!
So, if I can set media player to exclude some album/genre in the "play all" option, I will be happy! Is it too much to ask for???
Yeah, REALLY annoying problem! Specially in combination with the m2d music tab.. Hope anyone finds a way to exclude specific folders.. (pm me if u found it?)

May be it helps...
Bump
Bumping this back up this list. Does anyone know a way to do this with the htc windows mobile music player???
I haven't really used my phone as an MP3 player, but now I have a nice, big SD card in it and have decided to copy some songs over.
When I load up Media Player (I like it. So sue me.) and tell it to update the library, it doesn't see the MP3s I put on the storage card. I tried putting them in the My Documents/My Music folder on the card and I even tried putting them in the same folder as that stupid Dogbark file in the main memory and the library NEVER finds them. Is there a trick to make media player see MP3s or what? I can open the files manually and Media Player will play them just fine.
Edit:
I wanted to mention that, when I do 'Update Library', the phone says it found 40+ files, but the device library only shows 4 files (dogbark, mommy, allouete and ding) and the storage card shows nothing.
Did you switch to Storage Card (Next to the Library button there is a drop down menu)?
Ok so I've spent over 4 hours trying to find a way to move my music from iTunes to my HTC HD2 with album covers and all...no luck... why in the hell is it so difficult just to put music on your phone...All my songs are mp3's and they still won't go on properly...I tried just dragging them to the music folder through My Computer. I tried using double twists software I downloaded from the phone and I tried the one from the official website.
This is ridiculous considering that my old ass samsung flip phone can sync all my music in just 35 minutes with everything i expect. So much for the Entertainment phone...I would really appreciate if someone can help me out with this before I go on this road trip...
I also tried the music from My Music instead f iTunes and same problem...I have all the songs on the phone but they won't play. Does anyone also know why when your in the Windows Media Player all of your GAME sounds and videos and just random sounds appear if its suppose to be a music player... i am disappointed in this damn phone everything is great except the music players...
Personally, I keep all my music very organised on an external hard drive at home. On there, they are all stored in the folder structure X:\Music\Artist\Album\nn Song Title.mp3. I also have album art for each of them as folder.jpg in the album folder. I'm a bit of a pedant, but keeping it tidy has proved to be a godsend no end of times!
When I want to copy something to my phone, I usually make a temp folder on my desktop so that I can keep the folder structure intact inside that, and copy the albums I want, into their respective artist folders - Desktop\Temp Music Folder\Artist\Album.
Once I've copied everything there, I connect my phone to my PC with the USB cable, and I select "Disk Drive" as the connection type.
Then I simply open my phone's storage card in windows explorer, open the music folder on there (that's obviously already there as I've got loads of music on there already), and I copy the contents of the temp folder on my desktop into that folder.
It's really simple, and it works 100% of the time.
I've seen no end of threads where people are using different software for synching & tagging mp3s, or trying to put mp3s in weird folder structures (or even all of them in 1 folder!!!) and I just don't see why you'd bother.
This method has worked flawlessly for me on a Nokia N95, Touch Diamond, Touch HD and HD2.
Hope this helps mate
