HTC Hero Android 2.1 - How to install custom Recovery - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey,
I have bought an HTC Hero, which I have updated to Android 2.1
I thought it would be easier to get the custom Recovery... it seemed like a good idea then...
Now it seems that it is much, much harder to get the custom recovery for 2.1
I heard all different strories about 'Goldcard', 'MS CMD', etc.
I really, really don't get it... can someone please clear it up for me a bit?
I realy want to get this recovery but I don't know how anymore...
Thanks in advance!

actually, i have a same problem with you.
I hack root, spl, and do everything to up my G2 to android 1.6 JacxHeroski v1.6r2
but later then, i hard reset my phone, so i clear my recovery in my phone, and set up a new recovery. But when i did it, always have error:" sending recovery fail...." something like this.
Now i cant install new recovery to my phone.
Some1 plz help me solve this problem.
Thanks cheer

[Q] Want to revert to original ROM-HELP PLEASE!!!!!

hi,
I rooted my htc desire a few days ago using unrevoked 3.2. I then backed it up and wiped the phone and installed a custom UI (MIUI). I had loads of trubble with installing the rom and then found that my back up wouldnt work either. Today i tried a hard reset but when i boot the phone up all im getting is the o2 boot screen (branded phone to o2). All i want is to go back to what i already had on before (htc sense 2.2), no other custom roms
thanks in advance, please help. my phone is useless at the moment
I may not know much about HTC hardware and sense i do know that if can find the original ROM there should be instructions to install it or just try flashing it. I'm sorry if im mistaken.
How do i flash it and what does flashing do?? and were can i find the original ROM? sorry im a noob
Download and flash RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe from here: http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/
You may need to have HTC Sync installed on your computer to flash the RUU.
This information is well discussed in the Desire section of these forums, you should check it out.
Good luck.

[Q] Need to flash back to stock... please help!

[Q] Need to flash back to stock... please help!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a unique problem, and I think I will need someone with some patience to help if its even possible to get my phone back to stock. Recently my EVO screen completely stopped working yet when I turn on the phone I know that it still boots up because i still get notification sounds and alarms still work the screen has just gone out. My phone has a custom flash screen unrevoked, and it has a custom rom with custom boot animation not to mention a custom kernal. What I need to know, is it possible to do a push or something to flash the radio to s-on and reset it all back to stock? I only have until 8-18-2011 to return my phone to sprint and to get this done so please someone that knows what they are doing please reply. Thank you so much in advance.
You said you have an EVO, never mentioned if it is the original or 3D.
I'm assuming it's the original. Go to this thread and follow the guide.

EVO 3D ICS Stuck on splash screen

I recently rooted my 3vo with the HTC method so I could flash an ICS rom. For some reason I can't get it to boot into ICS though. When I power on the device after flashing, I get the first android splash screen but I can't get it to load any further than that. I couldn't find any clear answers as to why. As far as I can tell, twrp loaded the rom without any issues. I noticed that I still have S-ON but as I understand it, that doesn't matter. I have HBOOT 1.5
Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions/fixes?
Thanks in advance.
U need s-off else you cant flash anything to your system partition =]
Ah, thank you; I guess my information was wrong.
Does anyone have a good way to get S-OFF with the 3D?
Thanks again.

Help!(htc hd2)

Hello XDA community, I'm sort of a noob when it comes to advanced things such as radios and kernals etc. I have a rooted HTC Aria S-On running CM7 but that's basically all I know how to do is easy simple things like what I've done to my Aria. But the issue is a friend of mine was trying to update his HD2 to an ICS ROM but (according to him) he wiped everything down to the MAGLDR. Radio, kernal, ROM etc. He basically has no idea what he's doing with it, most experience with this kind of thing he's had is clicking a button to jailbreak an iPod or two. What I'm trying to do is figure out how to get the correct radio and kernal for the phone, and install ClockworkMod recovery and CM9 on it. Any help would be appreciated
follow the guide below, should be what you're looking for. Mind you this is assuming your NAND and not running it from the SD.

Many thanks man, didn't find that thread during my searches. One more thing, Nandroid isn't installed anymore either, would that be just a simple search for a DL link for the HD2 and install through the USB flasher in the MAGLDR?
yeah it should be, if I'm understanding you correctly...worst case I would just go from start to finish from the guide below so I don't leave anything unturned. Follow this guide before following the the previous one (that one assumes you did this already).

Thanks again, happy I can return the phone without it being a $200 paperweight
lol no problem
