[Q] Rooting motorola XT910 - eu model

Hello,
I'm about to root my Motorola with DoomLords/zergRush root ware. But before I do, I was wondering if anyone could tell if this will affect the up coming update to ICS on the phone in the coming weeks? and if not, and after the update, will I have to root the phone again?
The work been done here on rooting phones is brilliant and I couldn't agree more with TrevE about the issues around privacy..
I am a total noob, I hate myself, and this is my first phone so want to be careful..
Cheers,
Remy.

[Q] Root question xoom 4g on vzw

Sorry if I missed another thread been searching for awhile, but is it possible to root the version 4g lte xoom running I believe it's 3.2.4 anyway all root methods require... Well the ones I've found that bootloader be unlocked. I think I am out of luck but wanted to ask the pros. Here's what we're doing a client has purchased a large amount of these from vzw and we as need to configure them prefably without having to manually setup each one. I think titanium backup would work good or as I'm typing this I believe I was reading about an app similar that didn't require root? I hrmm that maybe my answer anyway I'm looking for any suggestions for basically creating an image for these tablets also if root can be achieved without unlocking as we do not want to be void their warranties, any help would be great to thanks in advance
You should be fine the bootloader I believe uses an efuse to determine whether or not its unlocked so that should not be able to be overwriten by a software update

[Q] atrix 2.3.6 root

best way to root a atrix 4g (att) running 2.3.6
You'll need to unlock the bootloader and proceed from there. You can do it the Pudding way (messy), but I also found this over in the Atrix section, which looks far simpler. It will take you back to 2.3.4, but if your bootloader isn't unlocked then you'll have to do that anyway
If your bootloader is already unlocked, use the new version of SuperOneClick with the Motorola exploit (link in my sig). It works a treat
Good luck!
what?! i rooted my old atrix running 2.3.4 (i sent it in for replacement ) so this is my new one.... i cant just type in codes? like i did last time?
Is the bootloader unlocked on your new unit?
Correction: Times have changed since I did it last, have a look here.
Apologies for the confusion.
not as far as i know as i was able to update from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 and its running all stock. ( i should mention the only phone i have ever modded was my old backflip ) and i rooted my old atrix but i have read that the bootloader unlock is complicated so i never did that. im lookign at getting CM9 ICS by joker or waiting till Q3 for ics official.... but not sure.

[Q] SK17a ICS Update, Root?

Hello, people!
I have a SK17 that still in the warranty period, so I don`t want to unlock it`s bootloader because of it. I`ve been noticed by e-mail today that the Wotan Server has the ICS update now avaliable for my device and i just want to know if that rooting method that root without unlock the bootloader will work after the update, i mean, is possible update the Android version without changing the FW version?
So I can keep my rootable .58 and have ICS running in my device. Another question is about the battery life. It is worth the upgrade? Thanks and sorry for the poor english. =D

[Q] Rooting HTC Droid Inc 2

Hi everyone,
I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I'm a total newb regarding rooting etc. I have an HTC Droid Inc 2 with 0.98.0000 (2.3.4) and would like to root my phone. I realize that the only way to root this phone is to downgrade it to 2.3.3 so that it can be S-offed. I'm trying to decide as to whether or not it would be worth downgrading. Would I be able to upgrade after rooting? If a version update is finally available, would I be able to upgrade without having to unroot? Also how do firmware updates from Verizon play into this? Can they be installed manually after rooting? Thanks in advance for your advice.
