[SKIN sort of] Opera 9.7 - Transparant Launch buttons (Update)

Ok, to call it a skin is said to much. But because it's part of a skin I like to advertise it this way, because maybe others, the real graphical experts on this forum, will be triggered to make a real opera skin.
To the point, I made the launch button of Opera 9.7 (all builds) transparant, in order to improve the visability of the pages loaded in Opera:

I'm not a graphical genius, but I think the button will do. I invite other, more proficient graphical designers to make a better one and to modify more element of Opera.
(The skin file is located in "\Windows\Opera9\profile\skin" and it is called standard_skin.zip. I have attached the png file I've modified from this skin file to this post)

(btw, this button goes really nice with the virtual screen size of Opera set to 1024.)

A transparant zoom button is added to the installation cab.

Hang on. I agree with you. But how can I install the two png's apart of the zip file in the skin directory of Opera? Do you have any idea? Ok, I assume that when i put these icons in a subdirectory WMPlatform Opera will read them as well. But will it not be overwritten by the same files in the zip file? (You know I am a pragmatist and I don't wanna invest to much time in these sort of things.)
I'm thinking of making the zoombar-icon transparant as well for the near future.

Ok, now i know what you are talking about. I thought you had an idea to install just these two modified icons. Now, the complete skin zip-file is installed with all untouched png's as well. Because the skin-zip is in rom this will cost some memory (although on the HD2 this is really neglectable).
Anyway, if chefs want to cook these modified png's (one png for this moment) in rom, go ahead...
Maybe I skin the other elements as well. Maybe I make the button bar and adres bar transparent? Maybe someone else can do that

I can't find original skin in the mentioned folder. Can you please post it, so I'll try to improve button.

I only started getting into modding manila yesterday the other day thanks to santod040, so thanks man, you've been extremely helpful I just enjoyed modding manila so much that I thought I'd release something soon just for fun, also that way I can also get some feedback on how it looks at the moment and maybe you guys could say what you would change / keep the same?

It will definately be done by the weekend, just need to collect some core manila files now which I had already applied to my rom, (like all the transparency)
And also see if theres any thing else I could improve on, have you or anyone else got any improvement suggestions?

[Star Mods] Full calender, date and alarm transparency

I just made this little cab to save me the installing 5 or so different transparency cabs at a time, I know this is kind of like 1 cab to rule them all, but this just removes the calender and leave your clock intact which I much prefer
Tested on Manila 2.5.2012 and works, I assume it should work on all other versions, but if it doesnt, just let me know and I will sort that out for you
NOTE
Sometimes when installing other mods, the little calender icon
will come back, to remove it, simply install the remove calender
icon cab
Using my work - You can use this in your roms or preset installers or whatever as long as you credit me and
send me a link to your thread so I can have a look at it
To revert back to how the calender was before hand, just uninstall the cab

Also by request, I have made a cab to revert the calender back to how it was before (incase your rom already has transparency installed which you dont like, and I have made a solid black calender also.

I have been using a ROM (Energy, Sense 2.5, WM 6.5.5) which hasn´t the background for calendar in month, week, day and agenda views. All I need is to have them "back", because I use very light wallpapers. I know this topic is about removing the backgound, but I need this tip. What should I do to have the background back, considering I didn´t use your cabs?

I wasnt sure if you wanted a stock 50% transparency version, or a solid black version, so I made both

I'm interested in more than one of them, so hopefully they are on the fast track to being completely operational for WM6.5!
I've been trying to find a task bar theme that does not use such lame-ass, original, and bland icons for SMS, Headset, etc.

What do you need help with? The task bars look pretty complete to me. I also wouldn't mind having it. I do slider icons and clock work but I have yet to actually play with the taskbar icons myself.

There are some bugs that need to get fixed like some icons don't show up, etc..

So what's happening with them ? Are the not applying from the start or do they apply then revert?

I feel humiliated I put so much work into making a taskbar with some of your icons and now you decide to share them. . . . . . . .

The only icons that are not applying are the 3g icon, the edge icon and the gprs icon

Yeah, it was better for me to let them think that the taskbars has been photoshopped, that way they wouldn't bother asking me to share but now I changed my mind and I'm going to prove them wrong

zip all the dll's and icons and I'll have a look at what's wrong.

I'll believe these taskbar icons are real when they are available for download.
Lots of those images in the 1st post are blatantly photoshopped imo.

Yes, you just can't get such good contrast on the icons like that.. Also the image below clearly shows photoshop because you can't get the icon to go all the way down to the bottom of the taskbar (to the grey line) in WM6.5 (WM6.5.3 you can).

It's very stable and I tried it on manila versions from 2012 to 2018.
I made this theme 6 months ago and since then I am developing it. So I think you will enjoy it.
Theme contains more than 1000 graphical files. I took some graphics from android taskbar (Dark Ninja's) and slider is based on blackslide.cab (found on xda, sorry, but I don't remember the author), all other graphics were made by myself.
Warning - don't post this theme or parts of it on other sites.
Installation: Turn off manila and install cab for your CHT version (if you use it) and than install main cab

thanx fear, thats really nice of you. i'll have a think. i would LOVE a naruto theme so much! just a question of how best to implement the idea. on page 718+ of the leo today screen post people are discussing changing the mail background on the email tab ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582619&page=720 ).would you be able to make a naruto style scroll to put in that place please? i've attached 2 images as reference. that alone would make a huge difference towards making the phone look naruto themed.

People, am sorry, but no themes. to make a theme, you need to change 1000 graphical files - I made only 1 theme and it was horrible.
Any manila changes - you are welcome, but full theme - too much work.

hey fear. no stress, i completely understand. im just working on a general naruto look. as i said, that one mail background manila file would make a HUGE difference in itself. if you have the time i would be very greatful. im making a slider myself using hdwall, and thanx to cht i can skin the taskbars myself too, and thats pretty much all i need

When looking at the text tab in sense, show the contact pic!!
We get the name and text, but the contact pic would be cool

but how does it work? i cant open the manila file with any of my image editors. i thought they are meant to be png format?
if its very complicated and you dont have time to explain please just post a cab for the background i sent, my painting isnt perfect, but i'd be VERY happy with it.

to edit you need to use special program. You can modify this .png and post it hear and I will make it suitable for manila.

First of all much respect and big thanks.
I posted my shortcuts screen and the CAB I'm using for the frames.
My problem is: when I use bright wallpapers the shurtcuts have a black background. I'd like to have this black square removed.
It would be great if you could make this possible.
