Version 6 dropped today. Any idea when the captivate will be supported?

Not till someone ports it. Most likely a dev here will have to.

After taking the advice of a few members a year ago to upgrade from hd2 to a dhd (good call BTW) my time has come to upgrade once more.
Question is what to get next ?
I'm a big sense fan and love romming my phones so what should I get ?

I advice you of waiting for Samsung Galaxy Nexus that it's coming out on October 19
Yeah definitely Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus... It'll be the first ICS device and the next one in the Nexus Line, so younshould have a pure Google experience and everything will be open.

Any Good HTC's on the horizon ?
well, if you want an HTC there is the HTC EVO 3D that is really a good smartphone
with sense of course
I haven't owned many phones. Although, my first Android phone was an HTC HD2. Now I have a Nexus One, with a broken power button and I cant have much fun with testing ROMs with it, as I did with my Leo. My Leo broke, which is WHY I have a Nexus One -____-
SO IM CURIOUS WHAT ARE PEOPLE'S FAVORITE PHONE(S).
LONG LIVE LEO!!
I would have to say the Epic 4G, the original with a physical keyboard. With CM9 this phone is great and I do not regret buying at all.
Seems like a great phone, i would totally use it if i had sprint. Thanks!
now im using galaxy gio, nice phone, nice camera and worhted to buy
just in my opinion
Seems like it has some great development as well. Thanks for sharing!
using Galaxy Nexus , this is the best phone that i have ever seen
For this moment it is HTC Desire, always up to date and very good design and reactivity
Right now I'd have to say the HTC Sensation XE. It's my current phone and I did quite some comparing before I bought it. But with what I see coming the next years, I think my next phone will become by then-all-time-favorite and so on.
Isn't HTC HD2 a Windows mobile phone. It's not Android.

Using the HTC EVO 4G, currently running the Energy SensationXL Sense 3.5 with Anthrax Kernel and flashed it to MetroPCS.
The only thing I can't get working is my mms, hopefully to have it fixed soon.
Galaxy Nexus smooth design and a google support with all android updates

Is there any scope of a gingerbread release for galaxy 3??
Obviously Not. I mean Samsung has totally lost interest in Galaxy 3. If not, then they would have released it long before.
But no need to hope cause we already have it, Courtesy marcellusbe
In the times of ICS you think Samsung will make, if ever a Gingerbread update for us?

Theres absolutely no chance, that we will get the official Gingerbread...Samsung usually gives just one major update. Even Samsung Galaxy S II will not get official Android 5.0 Jellybeans. :/
You mean to tell me that this phone is supposed to be "the flagship" of Samsung and it still comes in the box with froyo? Heck the skyrocket even comes boxed with gingerbread on it. Froyo is way outdated and obsolete. I was thinking about getting a s3 but not now. I'll just keep my skyrocket cause ics is awesome and there is no way I would pay that much for a phone that comes boxed with an operating system that is at least two years out of date... very disappointed in Samsung.

Monday is GSII. No date yet for the Blaze 4G. Do you think we will get the new touchwiz? Probably not, but that would be awesome if we are. Hopefully there's a port for it that works on our device someday.

Cool let me know I actually just got the s2 from a friend for 150 and no contract i couldn't pass it up lol
I just moved to one of these from a HTC Incredible I've been running ICS on since January and I have to say, it's hard to go back to GB, but the phone is just so much better and it's the only sub 4" phone that has a dual core procesor and is reasonably priced out of contract. Anyways, hoping for ICS sooner rather than later!
ICS will be out tonight for the Galaxy S 2 ...Anyone here how long it will be until the Blaze is updated to ICS?
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-3029
"Samsung and T-Mobile plan to release a software update for the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G that updates the device software to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The dates for this future update are TBD, but this document will be updated when details become available."
Hope to see this updated soon!

I'm looking forward for the source to drop. Since the T989 uses the same general chipsets we do, I'm hoping the source will build and work for our phones (with a little coercion). It's amazing how little official msm8660 stuff there is out there.
I swear, finding source, info, etc on this stupid little phone has been a labor of love, and I run into dead ends everywhere I go :-(

The Galaxy Nexus has come and gone but it didn't intrigue me enough to upgrade to. While the NS is still a great phone, the hardware is slowly becoming dated and it's inevitable that most of us will get a new phone eventually.
For those of you who still have an NS like me, are you eyeing any particular phones that you might switch over to in the near future?

Might switch to a Samsung Galaxy SIII whenever I get too tired of this. I can see it slowly fading away, being too slow for some things. With Jellybean it looks great but doesn't perform as well as it did with Gingerbread. We'll see whenever I'm too tired with it I guess!

Not really. They've timed it in the past, but it doesn't expressely mean a new version I believe.
Even then, Nexus One released with 2.1 Eclair, while Nexus S released with 2.3 Gingerbread. Not exactly a leap forward as big as Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.
The first Google device was still the G1, released in October 2008 with Android 1.6. Old school haha!

Yes, but some version were incremental updates rather than absolutely new OS. The names changed, but very little did in the background from Eclair to Froyo to Gingerbread, as I said. Nothing stops them from releasing 4.2 and calling it Key Lime Pie...
Expect the a new nexus around December.

had a s2 x for all of 3 days.. picked it up on the cheap cause it was boot looped and owner didnt know what to do with it.. sold it on a good profit and picked up a Nexus with change to spare. think this nexus will do me till the next google phone actually comes out or what comes of the new arm 15 processor
I replaced my my aging (plagued by search bug) white Nexus S (i9020a) with a Carrier (SaskTel) Galaxy Nexus... just got it today and was well worth the new contract.
Next Nexus. Can't go back to other phones after using this for so long.

in june '13 my contract will drop, at that time I will find a new one.. I'm actually falling in love with a sony nexus... but apart for manufacturer will be a nexus
nexus is the only way to go honestly. im eagerly awaiting the announcements for the new nexus phone's ... there is going to be multiple phones instead of just 1 phone from 1 company. so far im pretty sure samsung , sony & lg are all making a nexus type phone. if sony makes one , i probably would drool over it. i love the look of their current phones , and something with a fresh design factor as such with vanilla android on it would be gold from them.
