Lockscreens - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

I'm looking for lockscreen options and am very interested in experienced users input. Free is best, but it you know of a excellent lockscreen, let us know!
..... and thanks in advance.

To be honest I think the vanilla lock screen is great. I just disabled the HTC one and it was already there. I like being able to set vibrate with just a quick finger swipe. Plus it shows charging status when plugged in and any alarms I have set. If you do that, though, you need the Google desk clock for alarms if you use them.

lockbot is a program out there in the market that can do this
the only drawback is that it has to run all the time in the background...but it makes it very easy to customize your lockscreen

Do you have a link to directions on how to disable the sense lock screen? Thanks in advance!

Delete or rename the htclockscreen. apk

But that kills the alarm.
Or so I've heard.

That's what he said in his post (post #2).

How do you edit the HTC lock screen? I tried using ASTRO but since it doesn't have root privleges it doesn't work.
Could I use Metamorph so rename it?

You can solve that problem by using the deskclock.apk that ships with vanilla 2.2 instead of the HTC one.

I personally love the vanilla lockscreen with the Droid2 metamorph, it looks great

Widgetlocker is great too, you can add extra tabs with shortcuts to whatever you want, and best of all put widgets on your lockscreen. It does cost $1, but it's well worth it if you're looking for a third-party lockscreen replacement.

S-off will disable the security check, so you can flash unsigned roms from the bootloader. Just in case you somehow accidentally run an OTA or other official update and lose root/clockwork recovery, you can easily get it back.
It also allows you to modify the files in /system/ without rebooting into recovery.
Use unrevoked forever to turn s-off, the tool makes it pretty painless.

What font is that? I like it...the font in your first pick.

i flashed my incredible with forever and renamed the lockscreen.apk but today i dled virtuous 2.4 and when i went to change the lockscreen.apk it says its a read only file again. do i have to install forever again? i thought it was a one time thing

What I did (since I'm too cheap to buy root explorer and haven't looked into adb yet) is I just used Titanium Backup to uninstall it.

[MOD] Remove Bottom Notification Text From Stock HTC Lock Screen

Based on a discussion in this thread, I decided to tackle this little project for removing the notification text from the bottom of the stock HTC Lock Screen.
This way, when you receive a text from girlfriend 1, girlfriend 2 won't accidentally see part of it in while your phone is locked, thus getting yourself in big trouble. This is my "best guess" as to the primary reason for this mod . But, I subscribe to a don't ask, don't tell policy.
By removing the notification text, all types of notifications will be removed, including receipt of text messages, missed calls, etc, so be cognizant of this.
I've included the mod as either a flashable zip via recovery or a MetaMorph. Use the flashable zip option if you are running a strictly stock HTC Lock Screen and don't need to worry about over writing any changes you may have made for customizing the lockscreen.
If you have customized (themed) the stock HTC Lock Screen, use the MetaMorph option which will simply modify your existing lockscreen by applying the changes necessary for removing the notification text.

Restore your nandroid, or pull a copy of the stock HtcLockScreen.apk from your ROM zip, or shell into your phone and backup the existing apk file before applying the mod. Those are just a few ways...

I could certainly take a look. The good thing about the FriendStream example is that you are still going from HTC to HTC. Porting from different manufacturers can be more difficult if at all, depending on framework dependencies, etc.
I've got some higher priority stuff I'm working on, but certainly if I get a chance, I can take a peek. Anyone have a link to the apk?

No, that's not technically a notification.

iphone style unlock slider

i cant find this rom that used a while back but it used the iphone style slide to unlock.
the forums are showing me stuff for the WinMo phones but nothing for the evo... strange..
if anyone has, knows where, knows how to do the iphone lock screen can you point me in the right direction.
i just wish i could remember what rom that was that i used that had the iphone style slide to unlock.
i really prefer that over stock, or vanilla lock screens.
again i dont want the rom, just the lockscreen.

is that a screenie of just everything it has or is the lock screen really that cluttered?
it has the vanilla lock with sms/mms notification plus it has the iphone unlocker... wierd.
It's my normal screen I just switched from widget lock to iPhone lock, all the other stuff is removable, like the other slide stuff and clock and battery
lockbot free has the iphone style as well.
don't mean to hijack, but I have a similar question. Is it possible to get the puzzle piece lockscreen from the Galaxy S?

from the few minutes ive played with it (i thought it had the puzzle lock i was looking for, but the only Galaxy locks was the glass slide-any-way ones) it's a bit laggy, but did replace the default sense lock. No double lock screen. It was pretty customizable though theres only a 3 out of 7 you can fully customize in the free version.
just tried it and it works... once the phone starts and you start the app.
but it doesnt auto start.
phone boots to stock lock screen and wont change to the iphone one i made unless i start and then exit the lockbot app.

lock 2.0 wouldnt do anything, its a seperate app to lock the phone, it doesnt actually replace the lockscreen when you push the lock button.atleast on my phone it doesnt.
plus it only runs 1/2 screen, for me it does. the slider is 1/2 way up the screen and is about 1/2 the size it should be.
Anyone else able to offer any other thoughts on the iphone slide to unlock?
I dont likr apps that do it but if i have to i do.
If someone has this on their phone can you post or email me the apk file. Just the unlocker and i can push/install it myself

Custom ROM with fully ROOTED rights

Hi everyone,
I came from Galaxy 3 and used SGS also and they both are good phones but not water proof So I change it to Defy but I miss some features which I got in SG3.
So I am mentioning some things which, if possible can be modded than the Defy Super Rocks.
First I badly need to have a clean build .sbf so that we can easily direct flash it through RSD
ROM with fully ROOTED rights. (because its very annoying to root using SuperOneClick)
Icons in notification are like I did in my Samsung Galaxy 3 or Galaxy S, as its really very handy to On/OFF the GPS, Blutooth and other.
1% battery icon. (not in my SG3 but want it in Defy)
Clean ROM only with these STOCK applications please
[STOCK] contacts, message, Music Player, Time, Gallery, Camera Camcoder, alarm & timer, Dialer, google search, Manage Sim Card, Market, Youtube, Phone portal.
[Add on] Super User, Defy Recovery, Root explorer, Skyfire Browser, Barcode scanner, SetCPU

With Zeam Launcher because its free and fast too.
Its really very useful if any of you people make this ROM.

Are the switchers in the pull down menu a feature of Zeam or some app we could use with other launchers?
They are Samsung framework related stuff. CM7 does it too.
Chances are Samsung releases a water resistant phone before this is ported to Defy.
Ha ha haaaa
Widgetsoid should be able to do what you want with the switches in the notification area.
And, for the battery, you can use the following:
Circle Battery Widget
DefyBatt
MotoCharge

I love this feature on Samsung phones. Sure Widgetsoid does the trick pretty well, but this is even more comfortable and frees up some more space in your homescreens. I haven't found anything that is capable of it so far though.

Remove recent apps from notification pulldown

Hello all,
Big thanks to everyone involved in root/s-off.
With root is there any way to remove the 'recent apps' from the notification pulldown?
TIA All
I would also like to see a patch of some kind that replaces the recent apps with a on off bar..
+1 that recent app bar is so annoying
+2, add power widget options in instead!
Definitely needed!
I will never understand why they put the Recent Apps there when you can get to them by long pressing the home button.
There is a workaround until someone does this, not the best solution but it works.
In the market there is an app called Power Control Plus (it is a paid app) that will put the toggles in your notification area but it doesn't replace the Recent apps.
yeah, the toggles in the pull down are one of the few things I miss from the Fascinate I have. Another being the convenience of being able to drag left or right on the notification bar to quickly change the screen brightness.
I'm working on Rosie and Framework mods right now and this is on my list. I removed the recent apps from notification on a custom Hero ROM and will do it to the Tbolt. As far as adding the switches, that's a whole other story. We would have to port JsChiSurf's Evo work and I think I'll just wait until someone ports a Gingerbread Sense ROM, which has the switches in a tab.
Does it actually have to be ported or could you just rip the required framework elements from an evo rom and copy them to your tbolt framework?

I imagine the dependencies are different, so things wouldn't match up properly.
Question here: I too find the recent apps feature useless and liked the pullldown toolbar in Slayer's mods.(my personal favorite) I assume a mod like this could be ported or created?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Just getting rid of the Recent Apps would be an improvement until someone gets this done.
Another thing you might do if you can figure it out, one of the Z roms for the inc had the Verizon Wireless banner made about half the size it is now. It looked better and took up far less space.
Even better if you could remove the banner entirely, I think we all know we are on Verizon!
Here is a screen cap with "Power Control Plus" It's a paid app but usable, now if we could at least get rid of the recent apps.

I tried widgetsoid but I didn't like the fact that when you click on any of the toggles it dissapears. If I want to cycle through a toggle (for instance "Brightness") you have to bring the notifications down again.
Maybe a setting I was missing but that's how it worked for me.
Yep I would be happy with the recent apps removed and using widgetsoid or something for toggles.

Looks just like the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen. You can get the Free or Paid version, but I recommend free because you can get the paid version for free if you download some Chinese apps within that app. All you need is 300 points and each app is about 100 points so 3 free apps= 1 paid app for free. Just uninstall whatever you don't want after you get 300 Points. Search for Agile Lock on Market or use the web version.

Yeah I love it too. They have a sense 3.0 lockscreen for MIUI, but my device (Samsung Epic 4G) doesn't have a build that's new enough, so I'm glad that they made this. I don't see why anyone would pay though. You can get it for free w/ 3 free apps that you can uninstall later.
I installed this on my rooted Charge, but it only shows up after I first unlock the phone with the default TW lockscreen; i.e. when enabled, it isn't actually replacing the default lockscreen, but rather adding another step to unlocking the phone. Any clue why this is the case?
