Based on a discussion in this thread, I decided to tackle this little project for removing the notification text from the bottom of the stock HTC Lock Screen.
This way, when you receive a text from girlfriend 1, girlfriend 2 won't accidentally see part of it in while your phone is locked, thus getting yourself in big trouble. This is my "best guess" as to the primary reason for this mod . But, I subscribe to a don't ask, don't tell policy.
By removing the notification text, all types of notifications will be removed, including receipt of text messages, missed calls, etc, so be cognizant of this.
I've included the mod as either a flashable zip via recovery or a MetaMorph. Use the flashable zip option if you are running a strictly stock HTC Lock Screen and don't need to worry about over writing any changes you may have made for customizing the lockscreen.
If you have customized (themed) the stock HTC Lock Screen, use the MetaMorph option which will simply modify your existing lockscreen by applying the changes necessary for removing the notification text.

Note: If using the MetaMorph option, once complete, you will need to reboot your phone for the modified lockscreen to take affect.

Restore your nandroid, or pull a copy of the stock HtcLockScreen.apk from your ROM zip, or shell into your phone and backup the existing apk file before applying the mod. Those are just a few ways...

I could certainly take a look. The good thing about the FriendStream example is that you are still going from HTC to HTC. Porting from different manufacturers can be more difficult if at all, depending on framework dependencies, etc.
I've got some higher priority stuff I'm working on, but certainly if I get a chance, I can take a peek. Anyone have a link to the apk?
I will get it for you when I get home

I will be working on a fully loaded Bio-Hazard theme for the next few days but atm I have just been working on the lock screen. Note that this lock screen is not "as is" for when teh theme comes out, its subject to change. But for now enjoy the sneak peek of the lock screen.

cbarlan- For always being there when I need help, and teaching me most of what I know about android.
Vince OB- For helping me figure out a couple of things in the past that has came in handy with some of the things i have done.
brian m- For letting me know which xml file i needed to switch to make the background work.
And a couple others that escape me.
I didn't forget you! I just have a massive headache and I cant think straight. Ill put you on the list as your name comes up in my head, or PM me.
Can anyone help me. When I'm trying to change the "unlock" text it makes me either get rid of the unlock text or gets rid of my background, and makes the back ground transparent. I'm willing to sent the apk if anyone is willing to fix this for me. Thanks

I've never gotten the backgrounds to stick. That's why if u notice on both of my themes I post the wallpaper for people to download and use.
The lockscreen wallpaper is controlled by the keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml in the res folder. You have to change the background line to reference the jpg. Go grab the one that JsChisurf made up.

cause that has to be renamed or deleted or u will not be able to see anything but that lockscreen type. remember this is a modified version of flipz vanilla lockscreen and to get it to work the htc version must not be there. so the two options are to either delete or rename. If u install flipz flahable zip for the initial vanilla lockscreen it will delete it for you.

While I'm still currently focused on my lowly Hero, you EVO owners (many former Hero owners) have been pretty relentless in contacting me for requesting ports of various mods I've done for the Hero over to the EVO .
Since I don't have an EVO (yet), to date, I've resisted, as the stuff I'm doing for my own phone pretty much takes up most of my free time. Feeling sorry for you poor EVO owners, I've finally given in and decided to port over some of the taskbar mods I've done for the Hero, since this has been highly requested .
This mod "should" work on any deodexed ROM based on the Sprint/HTC Froyo 2.2 final build for the EVO. It modifies your services.jar file, so be patient on initial reboot, as your Dalvik cache will get rebuilt, and as always, nandroid before flashing.
You have SteelH to thank for the "encouragement", testing, and screen caps. With that, I will now return to my regularly subscribed forum...
EDIT: See this post for reverting to stock services.jar file.

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS. ALL I DID WAS PIECE TOGETHER OTHER PEOPLE'S HARD WORK.
IF YOU WANT TO THANK ANYONE PLEASE THANK THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS/DEVS.
-Most of the real tedious work inside of the theme is attributed to xvenom89 Please consider using his referral link on dropbox found here from his nublu theme over in the incredible forum. He was nice enough to allow me to use his work.
-Built from the framework-res.apk posted by bigrushdog to include brightness fix
-Custom Animations
-I blended fold, bounce, and fly-in to pick the things I liked from them.
- (Thanks to MagnusRagnarok he wasn't the original dev. on the animations but he's how I found out about them and I didn't feel like researching who made them)
-The LatinIME.apk mod from the eng pack (not sure where credit is due)
-Google search bar came from rori~ in his Smoked Widgets thread over in the Nexus Forums.
-All of the icons are from Max Rudberg from MacThemes
-kwizzle
put me on to the background put in the screen Not sure where original credit is due but hes how I found out about it

This ended up being a "hybrid" of my original port from the Hero back in the day, with roots from the original motorola droid stock ROM, merged with elements from the CM ROM release.
Still working on a few things. Sucks though, as it has required edits to multiple framework files once again...

Ha, I think you're right.
The dilemma is, when releasing, is the "base" starting from the Power Control Widgets framework, stock, both? With music controls, without. Option to go back and forth between slider and rotary, etc.

This has been on my todo list ever since getting the EVO back in October. The darn Power Control Widgets have been taking 100% of my "free" time.
I wanted to step away from that for a bit and work on something else.
It's more fun to get something new going, than it is to keep working on tweaks for the same thing (that gets boring).
Will this cause the alarm clock issue?
I would love to have this it looks awesome.
All credit goes to freakfingers12 and obsessionXYZ for actually making this amazing theme! Also thanks to mob87+crew over at the fascinate forum for porting it which allowed me to port it to EB16.
I'm going to be putting in some time making my own edits too, most of the applications aren't themed yet.
UPDATED! - This is the honeycomb live wallpaper (free in market) and the honey beautiful widget clock located here that doesn't look quite like the one in their post but I kind of like it

Made some of my own edits, also borrowed from edint cuz his wicked android guy rocks!:
This is what it looks like if you apply the puzzle lock standalone after the theme (I need to make a small edit, for some reason they black out the top half of the lock in the port I did, so I will be changing that when I get time - I plan on trying to edit out the puzzle pattern to a honeycomb pattern, then possibly changing the circle lock to fit the honeycomb pattern but I may not be able to so we will see);

It could be ported fairly easily, we will see how my time goes.
Lately I haven't had much time so I haven't gotten really far, but here is what I have so far. I grabbed the Xoom boot animation and included it in the .zip, it's very awesome hope you guys like it. (seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vCYj3aiQE4)
The SMS app has a small tweak still needing to be made, when you search for a contact it is black on black text and so you can't read it until you press on it, so if you don't want to use the sms app, just pull that .apk file out of the .zip before you flash it.
You need to be on pnp before flashing this, and to see the boot animation you have to be using the EA11 voodoo kernel.
I also suggest using the free honeycomb ADW theme available on the market, it's a nice compliment. I will update soon as I get time to theme some more apps.
Here is the download, make sure you disable lag fix before flashing (can be re-enabled after of course)

Also, just verifying that you are going to continue work on this theme?
Here is the download, make sure you disable lag fix before flashing (can be re-enabled after of course)

In reference to the sms app, you do mean the mms.apk in the zip file correct?

Yeah, sorry mms.apk
No worries, the only reason I asked is because I flashed back to DarkFroyo, then deleted the mms.apk from the HoneyFroyo zip, then reflashed honey and the text dropdown issue still exists.
Gr8 job!!! Works awesome on EC10
