APP Updates - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Fairly new to all of this and maybe im not doing something right but i was wondering how can i have my apps do an auto update? Seems to be that only time any of my apps update is when i download a new app, is this really the only way for already installed apps to update? Im running the latest fresh ROM if that has anything to do with it.

anyone????

You have to start your market program...
I have found you have to start your Market App and then check the downloads section in order to get the program to find out if you need any updates, then you usually have the option to update all (when possible, it cant update a program automatically if the permissions have changed...)
Hope that helps...

AppBrain will automatically download and install the apps you tell it to.

App update problem...

hi,
i have a new problem that start in the last few days ,from some reason i can't install new apps and update existing apps- its say: "update unsuccessful" after its download the update and try to install it.
i also tried to delete some apps in order to get some more free space and now i have 50Mb but i still have the same problem.
please advice,
Hello friend , i want to help you out but I'm in the dark, you didn't mention witch app you can't update and if you use a custom rom or stock rom.
Whatsoever IF you can't update an application that was included in your rom and you using a custom rom most of the times they cannot be updated or uninstalled. The best way is to ask your rom's developer to update the rom with the newest versions of the applications you want. Another way (risky way) is to download titanium backup from market, this app gives you the option to uninstall apps builted in rom , after removing the app install the newest version one.
i must warn you uninstaling a builted in app may have bad result to the rom, i suggest a backup before trying this.
About your storage , does your rom has a2sd ? If yes you are OK unless you have really big number of installed apps cuz internal memory still saving a small amount of the apps data(i don't know exactly how it works).
I hope i helped you out and good luck with any decision you ull take.
First, thanks for your attention.
I have Cyanogen-6.1.0-N1-signed and app2sd app.
The apps that i tried to update are not built-in apps(lookout, sms backup...) and i also tried games but still i had the same error...i think i will try to uninstall the relevant apps and reinstall them maybe it will solve the problem...
Kindly check under the "CyanogenMod Settings" - > "Application Settings"
try to disable (uncheck) first the "Allow application moving" and make sure the "Install Location" is set to automatic or Internal..
Lets see if this fix your problem..
if nothing works, try the workaround i have detailed

how to fix market links?

i somehow lost all my app links in the market, i have about 130 apps installed and would like to have the possibility again to update them.
is there any way to get my app links back in the market?
Titanium Backup
already tried Titanum Backup but it says that there are no recoverable links or something like that....
any other methods other than reinstalling all the apps?
Lol, if you don't want to reïnstall all the apps, how would youvlike it?
Only way is backing up your app + data to restore with links
i have them all backed up with titanium but reinstalling them with TB doesnt fix the market problem...
In titanium delete the data for the market and install one app on the market and uninstall it
well i had to reinstall all the apps for them to be visible again... i hope that doesnt happen again.
now i have an other problem, whenever i move a app to the SD card it also disappears from the market.
any way to display them if they are on the SD card?
I´m with the same problem. After installing CM7 last build I receive the new Android Market (2.2.11) and all my downloaded links gone from the market.
When I look for an already installed application its appear as not installed and then I have to download and install it again to its appear in market downloaded list.
Any way to fix that?

i could not find a other solution, in titanium backup/restore you can long hold on the apps and then go directly to the market to download them, that made it a bit less painful to install them again

Yeah I find another similar stupied solution: QuikMarketLinks, this app will list all your installed applications and link to their market page. I downloaded again 60 programs.
If you install AppBrain application you'll be able to reinstall all your applications in one shot (provided that you had already synchronized your phone with the site) as the list is saved on the site. I'm not sure it will reinstall your market links yet but this isn't a big problem as AppBrain - like the official market - shows when there are updates .
I've also noticed that the applications that I've got on my SD card are displayed as non-installed in the market whereas they are displayed as installed in AppBrain app.
The bonus of the application is that you can browse the Appbrain site on your PC, select the applications that you want to install and when you synchronize your phone it will install these applications.
Really a great app!
You might want to try this as it worked for me.
I installed several apps manually by running the apk and selecting install. These apps didnt appear in market as installed, and presumably werent being checked for updates.
I went into settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->Market->Force Stop & Clear Data
Launched Market again and after re-accepting the terms, all the apps that I had manually installed now appear in my list of installed apps.

1+ worked for me thanks
I have tried this out - worked for me in under 10 seconds on HD2 running CoreDroid. I had over 65 'misssing' apps

well i tried the market fix and it did nothing...
also as soon as i move a app 2 SD i no longer have it in the market:/
someone has his apps on the SD and is still able to see them in the market?

[Q]Cant download apps

im having a LOT of trouble downloading apps on my TF which my xperia can download.
my tf says that my country its not allowed to download the app.
there is a way to bypass this? or a way to get the apps =(?
Edit
strange enough i could download angrybirds on my first tablet, now i cant anymore =s
try and find one of the many market fixers out there.
find the apk, put on SD, and install via the file manager.
"market enabler" allows you to spoof your location in the eyes of the market. i'm unsure if there's one that works specifically with honeycomb.
also, rooting and installing the US version of a rom like Prime might help as well.
hope i helped.

[Q] Unable to Download/Install Apps

Hello, I have an htc Evo 4G and running CyanogenMod. A few weeks ago I was unable to download SOME Apps from the Android market.... So I started reading some posts about people having the same issue... Someone said that the solution was to delete the cache from the download manager, market, and market updater. After I did this.. im now unable to download ANY app from the market, not even Install from the Sd Card. I just see the download arrow for less than a second and it disappears. I go back to the market... and the progress bar says downloading and it stays there , nothing happens.
Is there a fix, do i need to take my phone to get flash again...
help please
Try down-grading to previous version of Market by removing update and using Titanium. Check the CM7 Nightly thread on Inc S
Hi,
had a similar problem on HD2 with a different CM Build of course.
After reboot the download started automatically again and application has been installed. Since then market downloads were working fine.
WHY? - Who knows, but not me.... ;-)
Probably this will help to solve your problem.
But first try out the downgrade of market App recommended by "ashishling".

I've had a similar issue before on my My Touch 3G Slide. After some research I found that Google Talk is some how linked to the Market. Try opening that app on your network first, making sure it signs in with your account. Then try downloading your apps from the market. This has worked for me every time I ran into that issue.

Deleting downloaded but NOT installed pending software update files

Okay, possibly a stupid question, but I've tried the couple of tricks that I know and they don't seem to have worked - so I'm not sure if it's not possible, or there's another way to do it, or if I'm simply doing something wrong.
I went ahead and manually checked for updates on my T-Mobile S7 (SM-G930T) tonight, and it found and downloaded the G930TUVU2APC8 update. Since I hadn't heard anything about it yet I went ahead and held off on installing it at the time, wanting to check on the details and read up on it here, and I'm glad I did. After doing my research I've decided not to install it for the time being, and to stay where I'm at, currently on G930TUVS2APB8. So, I'd like to try and delete the downloaded update files entirely, if that's possible -- so I'm not continually prompted to install it, etc.
I thought rebooting into recovery mode and clearing the cache would accomplish this, as it's worked on previous phones (S5/S6), but it doesn't seem to have worked this time. When I booted back to android it seemed the pre-downloaded update files were still there as it prompted me to install them again upon boot.
Does anybody know if it's possible to delete the update files once they've been downloaded? Obviously they haven't been installed yet. I'm not rooted of course, the phone is fully stock.
Thanks!
It's not possible to delete these files without root. You can however use Package Disabler Pro and disable "com.wssyncmldm" (Software Update) to make the notifications go away.
Do I have to use package disabler pro? I can't find this anywhere I'm using some other app hider that doesn't require root and can't find it.
Yes, it's this only way. The built in app manager does not let you disable certain things while this app does.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro
There are several choices for apps like this on the store.
