how to fix market links? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

i somehow lost all my app links in the market, i have about 130 apps installed and would like to have the possibility again to update them.
is there any way to get my app links back in the market?

Titanium Backup

already tried Titanum Backup but it says that there are no recoverable links or something like that....
any other methods other than reinstalling all the apps?

Lol, if you don't want to reïnstall all the apps, how would youvlike it?
Only way is backing up your app + data to restore with links

i have them all backed up with titanium but reinstalling them with TB doesnt fix the market problem...

In titanium delete the data for the market and install one app on the market and uninstall it

well i had to reinstall all the apps for them to be visible again... i hope that doesnt happen again.
now i have an other problem, whenever i move a app to the SD card it also disappears from the market.
any way to display them if they are on the SD card?

I´m with the same problem. After installing CM7 last build I receive the new Android Market (2.2.11) and all my downloaded links gone from the market.
When I look for an already installed application its appear as not installed and then I have to download and install it again to its appear in market downloaded list.
Any way to fix that?

i could not find a other solution, in titanium backup/restore you can long hold on the apps and then go directly to the market to download them, that made it a bit less painful to install them again

Yeah I find another similar stupied solution: QuikMarketLinks, this app will list all your installed applications and link to their market page. I downloaded again 60 programs.

If you install AppBrain application you'll be able to reinstall all your applications in one shot (provided that you had already synchronized your phone with the site) as the list is saved on the site. I'm not sure it will reinstall your market links yet but this isn't a big problem as AppBrain - like the official market - shows when there are updates .
I've also noticed that the applications that I've got on my SD card are displayed as non-installed in the market whereas they are displayed as installed in AppBrain app.
The bonus of the application is that you can browse the Appbrain site on your PC, select the applications that you want to install and when you synchronize your phone it will install these applications.
Really a great app!

You might want to try this as it worked for me.
I installed several apps manually by running the apk and selecting install. These apps didnt appear in market as installed, and presumably werent being checked for updates.
I went into settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->Market->Force Stop & Clear Data
Launched Market again and after re-accepting the terms, all the apps that I had manually installed now appear in my list of installed apps.

1+ worked for me thanks

I have tried this out - worked for me in under 10 seconds on HD2 running CoreDroid. I had over 65 'misssing' apps

well i tried the market fix and it did nothing...
also as soon as i move a app 2 SD i no longer have it in the market:/
someone has his apps on the SD and is still able to see them in the market?

[Q] [Solved] MyApps (com.android.vending) crashing

Got into my usual workflow in Titanium Backup, and guess I did something I shouldn't have on my Xoom... let it integrate all updated system apps to the ROM.
The 4 listed were Maps, Cordy, DunDef, and MyApps
I don't seem to have any issues with the first 3, but when in the Market, and hitting "My apps" I get force close of My Apps (process com.android.vending)
I have tried clearing cache & data on Market, Market Feedback Agent, Market Updater & My Apps... no help.
Is there any way to get/reinstall the original MyApps with out full a re-flash?
SOLVED: For a non destructive (ie no wipe) fix to my issue...
- First I flashed a root preped HRI66 system.img from roebeet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995785 following his instructions.
- Second I re-flashed Tiamat kernal and modules http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978013
- Third I re-cleared cache for Market and MyApps
- DONE. Working fine again.

Yeah. 17.9 gb free
I can install new apps from the market, but get weird notifications during download and after install. I would need to go DL something to find the exact messages.. but something like..
"1#% download"
"app already purchased or is still being processed"
"application failed"
Though the apps (a couple free ones) installed and ran fine.
rooted? 3g or wifi?
3g
v3.0.1 - Tiamat v1.3 Kernal - Rooted
do you have your sdcard?
I would just reflash. that would be the only way. if you have working sdcard i would back up all the apps to it
No way to just push that one piece eh? damn.
I figured out a non-destructive way to solve this. I am adding that info to OP in case it will help someone.
all you should have needed to do was simply uninstall the update to My Apps.that's what I did and it fixed the problem

[APP] Market 3.3.11

Hi All,
Android Police have posted the new Market version 3.3.11!
Quote:
It appears an update to the Android Market is now being pushed out to handsets, and we've got the .apk file for you right now. Warning: this updated Market does not seem to work very well on Honeycomb tablets, there appears to be a number of glitches.
Download Android Market 3.3.11:
mirror 1
mirror 2
Note: Root is not required.
Note: If the Market starts force closing, just open Settings > Applications > Manage > Market, and clear data.
What's changed? So far, we've found:
New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, a la Honeycomb)
Smaller font
New app drawer icon
Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
Star rating chart on app pages
Minor UI tweaks
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...te-update-over-wi-fi-only-shortcuts-and-more/
by installing this, it asks to replace the system app - and when i choose YES - it tries to install and then says "couldnt install app".
whats wrong ?

What phone do you have? I installed it the same way and it installed fine for me.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Phone: HTC Magic 32B White
with GB 2.3.7 DS rom on it
and I do have currently market version 3.2.0 installed
I am having the same issue.
Tried installing manualy by opening the .apk, install failed.
Tried clearing data and then replacing Vending.apk in system/app, rebooted and the market starts to force close immidiatly :/ really strange. Will stick with 3.2.0 till someone comes with a fix for this
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Great to see that they fixed the limited number of displayed search results.

Same with me- tried 'regular' installing, wiping cache/data and uninstall previous market with TiB, and also moving as 'vending.apk' to system/app + rebooting- no go on none of them...
good to see, that I am not the only one with this issue.
if you have issue installing over 3.2.0:
- delete /system/app/vending.apk
- download Market 3.1.5.apk
- rename it to Vending.apk and copy to /system/app/
- Launch Market Accept rules and quit Market
- Click on Market-3.3.11.apk
Voilà
i could solve it via another way.
settings --> apps -> manage apps --> market --> uninstall updates.
then - reinstalling market 3.3.11
issue solved!
Very unusual but after I istalled this, I cannot see any games. No result of all of thr games on the market

Is anyone seeing maps in their list of installed apps? Mine dissapeared from my installed apps, but if I search for maps, it still shows that it's installed. I have tried a few different nandroid backups, and roms and maps always disappears from my installed apps list after I update the market. I cleared data on the market too.

Yeah I tried that and the app I install gets added to the list, but maps still doesn't appear. Like I said though, if I search for maps in the market it says that it's installed.
thank u worked fine in my x10..
I get worse results. an example is handcent sms. not listed anywhere so removal isn't an option plus forcing attachment through titanium doesn't work

[Q] Installing and re-installing android applications

When we download an application from Google Play Store, it downloads and then magically installs on the Android device.
But supposing we do a Factory Reset, or that we upload a new firmware or simply suppose we have another Android device at home and we would like the same application to be installed there too.
Is it possible to somehow maintain the installation files and be able to copy these files off the Android device and then use them on another device?
Yes. An app comes as an 'apk' installer file that can be transferred to another device and installed or re-installed on the same device. But to get the apks of apps installed via Playstore, you will need an app like "App Backup and Restore".
P.S. Sharing apks of paid apps is illegal and not recommended. :good:

I have this "App Backup" but I am trying to understand the mechanism a bit more.
The apk file is not the end of the story. Try the game "Yesterday". It is a 1GB download, however the .apk is only a few MBs and the rest is the actual game. However this 1GB file comes straight from the app store, so there is a mechanism that App Backup does not cover.
I managed to restore this game by saving the data myself, but every application is different.

Google play store error 505 after nougat update

I use Facebook for work as we have fan pages. I use Facebook pages manager to manage them. I never had Facebook downloaded on the z5(work phone). I received a notice in play store that pages manager had an Update available. That's when I started receiving the 505 error code when trying to update the pages manager. Then I uninstalled the pages manager and tried to reinstall and now it won't install at all keeps giving me the 505 code. I read online where they say to remove the Google account and then add the Google account back, clear cache and data etc.... and if that doesn't work of course reset your phone. I'm not going to reset my phone because I will lose too many important chats with in different applications on the phone.
Is anybody else seeing this issue?
Update: the only apps that won't update are Facebook,f.b.pages manager, and now f.b.messenger....I'm not a Facebook fan,but need them for work.
This is an unlocked phone bought from Sony in Thailand. Model E6653, build# 32.3.A.0.376

if you are rooted and have sony ric disabled then install playstore again using lucky patched, but first go to settings apps find google play store and wipe everything from that app.
EDIT : Best thing is to use titanium backup(you have to be rooted) and backup every app that you have important chats on, and then do full wipe(excluding /system).

I'm not rooted. I'm also using a Huawei mate 9 with 7.0 and having no problem with Facebook apps. Thanks.

Is the problem only with page manager or with other apps, if only page manager simply download page manager apk from apkmirror and install it and that's it.
Only Facebook apps are effected.

Apkmirror is source of official apks so it is same thing like if you download from playstore.
So I need to download from unknown sources? Check that option in security section?

Ignore it, i use apkmirror for years and never had any problems with any apk.
It downloaded, but I can't locate it. It's not in my app drawer or on any home screen.....
I went to my down load section, and tried to click it,but it says can not because it conflicts with existing package. So I know it's in the phone, but how do I access it...?.....
File Commander or any other file manager and locate Downloads folder and there it is.

I did. I deleted any file that had the word Facebook in it from file manager too. I even went into Google play store under all apps and deleted it from there also.
It's so strange how it only FB,FB messenger, and the page manager
Well this is a bug. I experienced this problem after upgrading to Nougat from Marshmallow using flashtool. Sideloading (apk) won't work. Do a factory reset, that's the only fix.
It's just too much trouble factory resetting. I'll just have to use my other device.
Thanks guys.
you have to do a clean install not update..

[root] Playing around and accidentally uninstalled the play store - how to undo?

So, this is my first time rooting a phone, and once I managed to get it to work, I started playing around to see what capabilities I had now.
In doing this, I uninstalled the play store. I've tried multiple methods to reinstall it, but none have worked so far.
I've tried installing a new play store apk and used systemize to turn it into a system app, but that didn't work (the app crashed on launch)
I've also tried using link2sd but the app wouldn't let me convert to system app.
If anyone else has any tips for me I'd be grateful.
Using a samsung running android 11 - rooted with magisk, recovery method.
Copy it from another device using ApkExport then transfer the installable copy over to the victim device and install.
I haven't tried it with Playstore but it works on other apks even if the donor device is on a different Android OS version.

sadly the only other device i have is a samsung galaxy S2 that is barely functional. I doubt that'll work.
Before you do anything I'd make sure you have a good backup of your device. Copy text messages, contacts, photos, etc all to external storage.
My first thought was just download install APK, but I see you've done that.
Someone else may have a better suggestion, but, if nothing else works, I'd try installing pico GApps to restore Playstore functionality.

Yeah it's a system app on my Note 10+, can't be uninstalled*.
Normally it doesn't crash although it's common for it to not connect to Playstore. It does that if Google play Services is disable but even then it doesn't crash.
* I think, it has a disable option but to find out if there's an uninstall I would need to revert to the factory load first... which isn't something I want. It appears to be as I originally stated.

there is no uninstall option. I uninstalled it through other means as my phone is rooted. Now I'm having issues re-installing it and getting it to work.
My last 2 cents here:
Per definition only apps that are needed by Android OS to work are called system apps and are stored in /system/apps. Other apps - called 3rd-party apps like Google Play Store - may be stored in /system/priv-apps.
BTW:
If you manually install Google Play Store APK then it installs to /data/app directory - as expected.
