Comparing Different RLS on Polaris - Touch Cruise Android Development

Hi All.
Browsing the forum in the section for Kaiser, for Vogue and for Polaris ... i saw There's a lot of Release of Android for Pola100.
So ... my question is:
- Actually WHAT RELEASE offers the full functionality of our pola100?
I means: what release make my pola100 working on (almost) every function as:
- Camera (Photo e Video Recording)
- Video Playback without freeze
- GPS
- Wifi
- Connection with my Pc.
What differences in function between: Donut 1.6, Eclair 2.1 and Froyo 2.2 ?
I think that Froyo it's the best for performance, but not for compatibility with hardware, instead Eclair it's (almost) full working but less performing.
Is it true?
Thanks.

I think the latest

Newer ROMs and CorePlayer QTV support

Does anyone know why (or even better have a fix for) using QTV as video output in CorePlayer when using later ROM revisions just result in a black screen?
I've posted a bug report to CorePlayer but they're usually pretty slow handling these help requests...
BTW CorePlayer 1.2.4 featuring FLV-support is out since may 7th. Haven't seen anyone over in the Kaiser forums commenting on it yet.
Im running Duttys Apr29th and I have the same problem with Core1.2.4 in QTV
No problems here even though using the same ROM (Dutty' apr29th) and version of Coreplayer.
You get a black screen even though using the standard settings in Coreplayer? Weird...

I'm not sure why, but I believe that's the case as well with the two newest AT&T Roms. There appears to be no QTV support in those ROMS. However, there appears to be substantially improved DirectDraw support in those Roms so I guess that's the tradeoff.
No QTV support in the last two ATT based ROMs (and all cooked ROMs built from these bases). However, DirectDraw performance is significantly improved in these ROMs. I see nearly identical CorePlayer benchmark results when comparing scores from earlier ROMs with QTV support and these two latest ATT ROMs using CorePlayer and DirectDraw. See for yourself.
Another obervation...
CorePlayer still suffers from gross vertical tearing in fast motion scenes when playing MP4 (and variants) encoded video on the new ATT ROMs
Try the following...
Flash the latest ATT ROM. Play MP4 video content that contains fast motion scenes with the stock WMP. No vertical tearing. Install the latest CorePlayer release. Play again. Observe vertical tearing.
WMP, in the latest ATT ROMs now equals or outperforms CorePlayer when playing H.264 or MP4 content. See for yourself. Don't take my word.
are these the latest roms that support the bitbit acceleration ?

same problem here on L26 v9, and any new ROMs I've used. And I have witneesed the tearing issues with Core as well. DirectDraw is improved but not as good as QTV IMHO.
am using core player 1.2.5 and running perfect

We are looking into the Diamond and relate vertical tearing issue... also on WMP.... I'd like to see benchmarks to confirm this as 'I' find that statement very hard to believe.

WMP comments were confined to several AT&T "official" test ROMS that leaked in May. These ROMs did not support QTv. They did, however, exibit HTC's Kaiser video performance improvements that were built into WM6.1.
Coreplayer was suffering from vertical tearing when playing some MP4 content without the QTv support on the AT&T ROMS. H.264 was (is)always better with Coreplayer.
Coreplayer is superior to WMP. That's why I purchased it and use it daily. I now have QTv support again in my current ROMs (see sig) and the same MP4 content plays just fine. Sorry for causing any confusion.
However, Coreplayer is not perfect. I stream gigabytes of video via Orb each month and must use TCPMP as the player. When do you anticipate that Coreplayer will support Orb streaming? Frankly, I don't know that Orb is doing anything unusual. Any ideas?
I occasionally check the Coreplayer forums and see that you are still deflecting these questions concerning Orb. Anything definitive would be appreciated.
Thanks
On your points:
- Official 'ORB' support in CorePlayer is coming... and yes we have held off for over 2 years to add it support for it as we felt it was best handled as an internal channel. Which I have noted here is coming in 1.3.x
- As noted in my last post we are addressing the vertical tearing
- On the Diamond... we have a surprise coming for everyone ;-)
On a side note for ORB... and channels in general.... the biggest hurdle for us was to add one last element, 'Progressive Downloading Support'. This is the one last component for us to add into the platform to give channels the robustness that ppl have been asking for.
Any more recent updates on this? Is qtv supported in the most recent att6.1/diamond based cooked roms? Does it really help/work well?
Orb as in orb.com? It works for me and I'm using 1.2.5. I just wish there was a progress bar or a percentage of buffering. Videos take a while to start loading but an mp3 only takes about 8 seconds from the time Coreplayer opens.
That would be amazing if there was "official" support for it though as orb.com is amazing!!!! And by official support, do you mean it will have it's own interface within Coreplayer kind of like how you guys have a Youtube window? That would be unreal!!!!!!!
Also, a little googling and poking around the CorePlayer forums yield this:
"CE/Windows Mobile/PocketPC/Smartphone
---------------------------------------------------------
- Does not support the Qualcomm MSM7200 QTv chipset (we only support the MSM7500)"
I found some benchmarks (on xda-developers) from WinMo 6.0 that show a big improvement with qtv, but also have heard (unsubstantiated however) that apparently the new 6.1 roms have built in acceleration using qtv.
So are there any other players or versions of CorePlayer that do support qtv? Or for that matter anyone with some good insight into what qtv can actually do to help us?

[Q] Generic Chinese Tablet with Front Facing Camera

I'm currently looking for information on users who have front facing camera on generic chinese tablets. I have an EM73, TCC8803 based tablet but I believe any tablet that's currently in the line of Emdoor/Telechips based tablets could benefit from this thread. And in the long run, hopefully any device with a front facing camera.
The issue is Video Chat. As i'm sure everyone has tried, the camera app works great! But, if you use another video chat program such as gtalk or Qik, then the other person will see a very downgraded video. If you (currently) try the Skype 2.0 hacks, you'll see no video at all.
It appears to me that the video chat programs are making a specific call in Android 2.3.x for video chat abilities (I've only gotten gtalk to work in 2.3.3, Qik works in 2.3.1 and 2.3.3 but video quality is the same).
Does any know where this request is and maybe how it could be modified? Also, has anyone tried another video chat program that worked better?
I hope we can get better video quality, as the TCC8803 chip should have no problems with an upgraded video out stream. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Erosized media profile, works in cyanogenMOD , I think

So i added the media profile.xml and the TICameraCameraProperties.xml from|ErosizeD| gingerbread , and I think it may have slightly improved the stability of the camera in the cyanogeMOD full 6

[Q] Video playback issue on Qualcomm MSM 7200/01/00A devices

Hi everybody. This is common issue for custom ROMs for devices built on MSM 7200,7200A,7201,7201A platforms with Adreno 130 GPU (HTC Hero,Huawei U8230,etc..),running Android 2.2 or higher.Video is freezing on 1:10:00 or video is playing forward, but sound starts from the begining. On HTC Hero with AOSP 2.2 this could be fixed by merging files build.prop and buld.hero.prop with the ones from CM6,with other ROMs and devices it doesn't work.Does anybody have a mind how to fix it?

Hello guys.
Last i remember year ago Android on HD Mini working as additional app running up from Windows sd card.
Now i see some ROMs - it means if finaly done well? We can now replace Windows to Android permanently?
If yes - how i can make it (never do it before)?
Hello!
Is there should be some news here or every rom-developers think that they finished there job, and did it fine? Where is even one fine working ROM? Why am i have to donate somebody if they doesn't finish job?

You don't have to do anything!!! You can, if you want.
And i did. To give the one person which can finish the project a motivation.
And hopefully other people think the same.
Yes, i'm too hope so, but did You have some really working product? Or this forum became a place to have some money for just starting job, and nobody care about it's finishing. If You pay at start for building Your apartment, so do You want to live there or You just hope that construction company wouldn't became a buncrupt?
You don't have a contract, so can not expect anything.
This page should be refreshed! where is the MIUI ROM from dstar000 here?
