Desire S problem HW video and camera on cm kernel

I have a problem with the camera and video hardware to all custom firmware which are based on cyanogenmod kernel. Camera work but does not move and hardware video on player don*t move. On firmware are based on stock all right work. I've tried everything hboot and recovery but result is the same. Install Miui 2.1.6.08 then install kernel UNITY_V9_2.6.35.14 is the only variant when camera well works but hardware video does not work at all. I hope to help developers!

I've got this very same issue. I was on MIUI 1.12.30 and on Lowveld's Reaper v1.1, both really good ROMs but for some reason, the camera preview window freezes after a couple of seconds. pictures come out ok though. same thing when playing videos either through a browser or even a local video file saved in the sd card, the video playback would freeze after a couple of seconds but the audio is normal.

if viewing video camera captured in program mode it shows normally but the problem remains

If viewing video touch on the screen then video moves and camera too

i have got the same problem here.
tried to use Reaper 3.0 but got the camera problem.
miui,endymion and blindice works well with the camera on my DS.
i got hboot 2.00.0002, sense 3.0 and S-ON
the app "pudding camera" works for me as a half solution, since it only takes pictures and no video, but the camera is working with this app.
hope there will be a solution soon

I am on reaper v3 and my camera and videocamera are working.
UNfortunately i just don't get the same good pics as with sense roms.
It's a real shame, as i take many pictures and at the same time i couldnt live without reaper rom. it's just perfect, apart from the camera thing.
im using lg camera and sometimes get better results, but in low light the noise is really unbearable. tried different settings of iso and stuff but nothing.
i dont know about developing, so sorry is the question is dumb but using a different kernel would help?

Can I flash the ZeroMHL kernel on top of this ROM?
If I understood correctly, Wifi will not work anymore with this Kernel

So I was thinking of using something like Elgato's Game Capture HD, but the 24hz output of the HTC One S is not compatible with this HDMI capture device.

I used your previous kernel on 4.0.3 before your update. Just a few feedbacks:
- Display on a TV is excellent. Really awesome solution
- Wifi works
- Capture through Elgato device does not work, image flickers and sometimes signal is lost. I suspect synchronization is faulty. Elgato says they can capture 720p at 60Hz though. Any idea why it doesn't work?
- When I unplug the MHL cable, the One S reboots (not a big deal, it's a demo unit anyway)

The features written in the OP Design is the same of sense 4.1 camera

Looks nice, only 2 problems i noticed so far.
Camcorder feezes on saving if you select 20MBit
Continous autofocus is broken, while recording video doesnt focus, and you cant focus by touching screen (if you disable it you can focus by touching the screen)
Also when Continous autofocus turned ON and using camera it doesnt automaticly focus as you move phone (only when you take a shoot)

well first impressions its good ..the video quality is good and audio at 320kbps giving me some good video
if the rest of mentioned bugs gets fixed ..then this is the perfect camera

So by flashing this my 1080p video recording (landscape being the only correct way to record videos) is now unstable?? i dont see the pros in that trade-off..

Good picture quality but Video Recording at 1080p in landscape mod crashes camera. With last ViperS Rom i can record at 1080p in landscape so...waiting 4 more improve.

Yes, some bugs. For me, during video recording, the phone automatically adjust focus and the light exposure, probably autofocus works only in videocamera.
I want to solve the major bug, the 1080p landscape bug. Do you know how m0narx fixed it on sense 4.1 camera?

Yes, but for now the priority are the major bugs

i have tested your cm11 build for eagle ds cm-11-20141218-UNOFFICIAL-eagle_D2302
and i am not understanding any word from the Russian lang. and google translate didn't make it
the rom is awesome the ds working fine network is fine and every thing else almost fine but there is some problems with it
when i play any video it be triple slow speed and that's happened when i play it on youtube or gallary or any video
camera crashes .. i always get force close camera when i tried another camera app it worked fine but after while i get force close for the new app
camera quality is not as good as the camera in the stock firmware 4.4.4
but seriously man good job :good: :good:
when the next build will be released ??? and can i be a tester for your builds ???

Pantech Vega Iron 2 Lineage ROM Video Recording not working

I recently installed LineageOS rom on my iron 2, seems like everything is working fine but not the video camera recorder, as well as the audio recording app. Also, it doesnt have a clipboard which bothers me a lot cuz i frequently use it. Any help? Atleast with the video camera recorder?
