Dear all,
I had search and google through every web site and yet I cannot find a solution on how to root my sony ericsson arc.
The story is like this, at first I was able to root my phone using gingerbreak apk 1.2. However, I had wrongly set the LCD Density of my phone and cause it keep on rebooting. So I had flash it.
After flash it, everythings seems just like normal. However, I am unable to root the phone now. While I am running gingerbreak 1.1/1.2/1.3, it keep on stuck at the "running exploit" like forever. Can anyone please help me out on this matter? Please......feel really dissapointed now...
You really didn't look very hard, did you? I mean, did you even find the arc forums?

All your question will be answered there. Just do some searching.

sorry bro...
I am very new in this field...
can you tel me which thread should i refer to get the solution?
Post a question in the general forum. Do you know if your phone is sim locked / boot loader locked?
There is no easy root from the latest firmware. You need to flash a new kernal.

how to check on whether sim is lock / bootloader is lock?
Cause previously I has rooted the phone using gingerbreak (firmware is 2.3.2)
However this time I accidentally install firmware 2.3.3, will this be the reason that I am unable to root my phone? Thanks.
Well, can you put any sim into the device?
Your bootloader is probably locked. You can check here to see if you can unlock your bootloader...

I don't actually have a arc so you really would be much better off posting a question on the arc general forum.

Hi everyone, I'm new in here. I'm about to buy a SE Xperia Mini Pro, I just love that phone and Android, of course. I've been reading a lot about rooting and ROMs, so I think I'm pretty informed. Since I saw that CyanogenMod is available for the Xperia line, I'm totally decided to get my Xperia Mini Pro and install it. I just have a question: The rooting tutorial works only for the Xperia Pro sk17i or also for the sk17a? I just want to be sure, since in my country I can only get the American version on the phone, not the European. I hope that someone can answer me. Thanks a lot.
The answer is yes. Rooting sk17a is exactly same as sk17i. Follow the instructions in here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33

Have followed the instructions for section 'A'. On section 'B' now but the link for "SE Stock FW: 4.0.A.2.368" is dead. Does anyone know of live one??

Hi community, I have flashed Android 4.2.2 Generic World FTF using Flashtool to my Xperia L C2105, now I want to root it, but I don't know, how to do it. I have found this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307983 and there is reference to thread with 4.2.2 root, but I can't go on this webpage, there is some error.
Can somebody give me some tutorial how to root XL working on Android 4.2.2, or explain me?
I have also found Motochopper method, somebody told me that it is right way to root my phone, but I'm not sure because I have read somewhere that Motochopper works only on some Motorola devices.
Maybe I will sell my phone in 3-4 months so I'll need a warranty back, so there should be a way to unroot the phone.
Sorry for my english
Thanks for help, greetings.
The methods that exist to root 4.2.2 firmware on Xperia L are considered unsafe :-/ Therefore the page was removed by xda's mods
And the motochopper method you read about was meant for android 4.1
To unroot you can always restore your device to original firmware, using pc companion, Sony Update Service or flashtool
Ok, thanks. When you say, that root on 4.2.2 is unsafe, do you mean that I won't be able to flash soft back at all? But does some method to root 4.2.2 exists?

Unsafe means those software are suspected to be malicious, more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46246819&postcount=1
Okay, thanks. Someone can close the thread, nvm, I'll wait till there will appear some safe and working way to root.
Thank you all.

You can try this method...root 4.2
Rooting using Kingoroot and vroot is risky.. It and IMEI number of your device to their server in China.. And we don't know what it does.. So be careful and don't use these 2 methods

I rooted my device this way
Hi I have just purchased a 2nd hand xz premium as my pixel 3a is now dead. Just need some pointers and advise as I'm going to root and ROM this device. My questions are do I need to back up the ta system and if I do can I restore it if I would ever go back to stock to be able to use Sony's DRM services again, also any recommendations as to which tools to use to unlock bootloader. I haven't done a Sony since the X10 mini days.
P.s the xz premium is a sexy device if I say so myself.
