Dear all,
I had search and google through every web site and yet I cannot find a solution on how to root my sony ericsson arc.
The story is like this, at first I was able to root my phone using gingerbreak apk 1.2. However, I had wrongly set the LCD Density of my phone and cause it keep on rebooting. So I had flash it.
After flash it, everythings seems just like normal. However, I am unable to root the phone now. While I am running gingerbreak 1.1/1.2/1.3, it keep on stuck at the "running exploit" like forever. Can anyone please help me out on this matter? Please......feel really dissapointed now...
You really didn't look very hard, did you? I mean, did you even find the arc forums?

All your question will be answered there. Just do some searching.

sorry bro...
I am very new in this field...
can you tel me which thread should i refer to get the solution?
Post a question in the general forum. Do you know if your phone is sim locked / boot loader locked?
There is no easy root from the latest firmware. You need to flash a new kernal.

how to check on whether sim is lock / bootloader is lock?
Cause previously I has rooted the phone using gingerbreak (firmware is 2.3.2)
However this time I accidentally install firmware 2.3.3, will this be the reason that I am unable to root my phone? Thanks.
Well, can you put any sim into the device?
Your bootloader is probably locked. You can check here to see if you can unlock your bootloader...

I don't actually have a arc so you really would be much better off posting a question on the arc general forum.

Hey and sorry if this is a old question, but I have a problem...
I'm having troubles when I'm trying to root my galaxy s II, but my problems are these:
I can't use superoneclick, cause the program it crashes everytime I try.. Someone says that u can't root gingerbread's with that.. (why youtube is full of rooting videos?)
And now I'm thinking should I try rooting with gingerbreak?
(people says that u can't root galaxy s2's newest model with gingerbreak?)
and if I can root it with gingerbreak, what folder I should put that .apk file etc?
I've read lots of forums, but I never get answers to my problems, so I'm hoping that u guys can here help me out.. THANKS!!
You should probably check the subforums for your device. Check the stickies, there's probably a guide to rooting there.
Manufacturer and phone model have more to do with root methods than Android versions. Instead of searching for how to root Gingerbread, search for how to root your specific model.

I have recently rooted my nexus s and installed custom roms. After a bit of playing around with different roms I ended up loosing all data connection.
I attempted to return my phone to stock using a thread on a forum but am now stuck with nexus 4g stock instead on nexus s stock?
Feel out of my depth and ergently need some calm advice and instructions.
My model is GT-19020 which has caused me much confussion as stock roms I find on the net are 19023 or i9020 or i9020A
I havent been able to enjoy my nexus for nearly 2 months due to my mistake.
I have also been informed that my radio could of been the wrong one during flashing and thats why I lost data?
thankyou
Is your Phone still alive?
Didnt you make a Backup of your Phones Rom?
Simply search for Nexus S Stock Rom is that so Hard?
Ahh and its the wrong Forum-Section, you should have post that into Nexus S Forum Section
Sorry if I am in the rong place, I am very dyslexic and so simple instructions sometimes are very hard for me to read and understand.
I have tried returning to stock but am now on nexus 4g?
Got a bit lost along the way and definatly confused as to which stock baseband version I should seek out. If you could help shed a bit of light on my situation I would be really gratefull.
Yes did make a backup of my origional rom but accidently wiped it.
My problem probally sounds a bit silly which i apoligise for just got myself into a muddle. I rely on my phone for my net connection which has hapered my attempts at fixing this issue.
Sorry again for sounding like a twat.
As you said you have the gt-i9020 it seams to be closely to be the 9020t variant mentioned in that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572307 thread iwould say try the first rom mentioned there

how do i apply the image? I tried moving it to my phone then installing the zip through recovery but it failed. I am completly confused could you talk me through the process step by step?
No not really because i did not own a Nexus S, in my Country there is only the gt-I9023 Version to get and i did not want to get a bad screen...
But wait I see there is a good Tutorial in that Topic ive send to you and it is step by step...
you need the android SDK installed on your PC and if you follow the steps mentioned there it should be no Problem
Hey guys, I'm new to all this and I recently found out about rooting phones. So, I found a program called OneClickRoot and just want to ask how safe it is? This is my first time so I need help. Thanks
Nevermind, got an answer lol
Is safe if Carrier out by the dealer, i mean by the owner of the device. For example, HTC has an application "OneClick" thats work very well, just as Samsung has Odin, which can be a "OneClick" to root or ride ROMS
What device do you have? And you are looking for?

Um, actually wanted to root my device (ZTE Blade III) but I already got an answer and it's rooted now
But thanks for reply

There is no bootloader unlock for this phone that's why you can't find it. All the information you need to get started flashing is in the development section. Most, if not all, ROMs have detailed instructions in the op of each thread. Basically you need root, a recovery app called Boot Menu Manager (or BMM for short) that is more like a boot hijack, the ROM zip you want to flash and some info on flashing an FXZ in case you get into trouble. Be sure to read the thread detailing how to use BMM successfully and follow the directions in the ROM thread as to which system(s) the ROM can be flashed on (you can multiboot up to 5 different ROMs with BMM). Be safe through reading/researching, have fun, and welcome to the community!
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.
No.. We cant unlock bootloader.. Thats how we roll..XD.. But I think its a general.. Atrix 2 stuck with locked bootloader.. in development section.. Theres too many thread on custom Rom and how to install it.. Good luck..

Thanks guys, i was unsure about going about with the Atrix and you have directed me in the right direction
Are all of the One A9s ordered direct from HTC able to be BL unlocked right from HTC or is there still a process outside of that? Does it wipe the device?
Hoping to get the device and quickly root to maybe use apps like greenify to get some tolerable battery life. All the reviews say battery is terrible.

You unlock the boot loader via htc.dev and s-off with sunshine, read the thread about it. Good luck it is not that hard to do, and the 25$ to s-off is well spent money.
You're able to use htc dev program to unlock the bootloader. If you got yours directly from htc and if it's the developer edition then the bootloader comes unlocked with no warranty void. Unlocking the bootloader through htc dev does in fact wipe your device. Once I obtained the device from att I unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp and installed the latest supersu beta for systemless root. Afterwards I booted up, installed sunshine and purchased s-off. After I gained s-off I converted to the developer edition by changing my cid to BS_US001 (dev edition) and flashing the corresponding firmware. As of now there are flashable zips from @Captain_Throwback that are prerooted. If you're looking to use greenify or amplify than I'd recommend the deodexed version as that makes it more stable for the xposed framework.
Wait you have to pay to get root?

Not for root. For S-Off.
Don't you need s-off for root?

It seems like you can read , and all your questions are covered in multiple threads already, thre are FAQ sections to. Just try to find them before starting another thread about it.

The purpose of forums is to collaborate and help. Every single phone manufacturer does things differently and every forum is setup differently. I checked the top threads in general and QA and didn't see my answers.

I am sorry if I offended you, but this is not a chat app , and the rooting thread is one of the first an biggest in here, the info in a forum like this are intended to be used, and we can't shout out a question in a new thread the second it pops up in our head. Then we will never find anything around here, I often go back and read up on things so that I am sure of things, this xda forum has so much knowledge saved and there must be some kind of structure to get it to work. Try look up how many members we have, you will be surprised..
