radio transmitter app? - Android Apps and Games

Anyone know if there is an App that allows you to transmit at a frequency that can be picked up by your car radio?

That is hardware specific, nothing to do with software if the hardware doesn't support it.

Smartphone with FM radio recording

Hello,
are there any up-to-date devices that have ability to record FM radio besides Samsung Omnia? Why there isnt any way to make some application for Xperia or another htc devices to record radio? Is it possible for Windows mobile devices at all or smartphone manufacturers are so extremely thrifty of adding absolutely primitive 0,1cent worth hardware feature to route fm radio through operating system??
Thank you
Most phones don't have the hardware. Since you obviously have no idea about how this hardware works, I won't bother explaining why that's probably a good idea.
The Touch Pro does have FM and you are welcome to write an application that records from it.
I think I dont understand you, so please, bother and explain me why thats a good idea.
Not only Touch Pro has fm radio, lot of wm phones have it, but according some forums the only one problem is that fm receiver output is linked directly to headphone out, so you can write million apps which will have no effect at all because the signal is routed outside the hardware that operating sytem manages.
The idea of 0,1cent worth hardware feature can be two wires that will routre audio signal from FM receiver to e.g. mic input so that it can be recorded. What is so difficult about recording FM radio on WM? Apps that can do it arent the problem.
Recording FM
After reading the minimal thread, It would be nice if we all contacted HTC and other manufactures to "encourage" them to enable their devices to record FM directly to the SD card. I have an Coby unit that is great for this you can listen to the program you are recording and the headset is the antenna...BUT it would be nice to leave it at home, one less gaget.

is it possible to use internal FM radio as FM transmitter?

is it possible to use internal FM radio (e.g blackstone fm radio) as a build in FM transmitter to transmit sound from my phone to my car radio? is it possible by software or is special hardware required?!
Dont think so.. A receiver is not a transmitter. its like trying to burn dvd with a dvd player..
that was my thought either, but it also was just an idea how our devices hardware maybe can be manipulated by software for a different use. and I won't think about the example with the dvd-burning in a dvd-reader, more like using a mic as a speaker, when you plug it differently into e.g a dictaphone ... or something
I don't believe that you can.
It seems to be possible on some chip like BCM4329 that is included in some phone (desire Z or nexus 1). Don't know if some mod ever used this FM tx chip.

Spirit FM Radio app compatabilty

I have been talking to the developer of the Spirit FM Radio app. For those who don't know about this app, on certain devices you can use the bluetooth chip to receive FM radio. Well anyhow it looks like this tab does not have this capability.

[Q] Pandora radio in the car?

I have seen a lot of car radio's that have the option for Pandora Radio. As far as I can tell this only works for iPhones. The radio uses a USB cord and uses your phone to connect to Pandora. Does anyone know if this will be available to Android also or any workaround?

AM Radio Not Working, Only FM Radio

I have Klyde PX5 MTCE headunit with dedicated DSP. FM radio is working well but AM Radio does not have any signal, does not detect any station when scanning. I only hear hiss..
What is the possible solution? Is this hardware or software problem? I'll highly appreciate any help.
Here are the dmesg and logcat.

Thanks
Anyone?
This is maybe a minor issue but very frustrating for me who usually listens to the AM radio as part of my daily routine.
Update:
Seller sent me a new radio module. Unfortunately, it is still not working. Then fortunately, I suddenly have an idea of connecting the "Auto Antenna Control" wire of the HU to the "Remote Antenna" pin of my car's harness. Suprised me that it fixed the AM radio. Works really great. The FM radio signal also improves significantly.
Seems the "remote antenna" provides power, sort of booster, to my car's stock antenna.
