Trillian Beta Released for Android... - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Trillia have released thier multi-protocol IM client for Android. Runs in 1.6 too...Not available in the market, can be downloaded from here
The app will work with AIM, Facebook Chat, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, WLM, and MySpaceIM, and because it natively supports Android 1.6, it will work with the original Android handset G1. People with phones running more recent versions will receive better resolution graphics, according to the company. Current Trillian users will be able to automatically load their accounts on the phone using Trillian's Astra syncing service.
Some of the app's more esoteric features include "buzzing" your friends as a way to demand attention from them and sharing photos via IM. The app also offers a smooth transition to landscape mode, and in hands-on tests worked just as well with a slide-out keyboard as it did with the soft keyboard.

are there any good facebook apps for 2.1? i have a rooted n1 running the latest cyanogenmod and all of the facebook apps ive used suck. babbler has no notifications. bloo has the same problem plus more and the official android app is even as advanced as babbler or bloo. any suggestions

I'm with you buddy. The native app sucks, no video uploads, wonky scrolling, no notifications. Bloo sucks too, it doesn't post comments when they've been posted, can't see who "likes" statuses, Babbler's even worse. Pisses me off that FB just wants a good iPhone app and forgets that some folks do not want the bloody fruit phone.
the best is actually... touch.facebook.com
i used to use fBook but it no longer keeps me logged in, so i went through a bunch *bloo, babbler ect.. but found "Facebook Touch" from the market is what i wanted and works.
i usually open it and go to the bottom and click "mobile" then i get an easy to use facebook that gives me notifications on the top.
Touch seems pretty good. Thanks for that. Are there no apps that allow you to tag photos? I'm mean really? LOL!

as for tagging photos, again use Facebook Touch from marketplace, then at the bottom click full page and just do it that way.

Which Twitter app is the best? [ROUND 2]

It's round 2 of the Twitter client battle for Android. Since the first poll, many apps were introduced and had been updated. So for Round 2, I've narrowed it down to the top Twitter clients.
Round 1 results: Touiteur wins!
Of the numerous Twitter apps available in the Android Market, free or paid, which one have you decided to you use after trying out the others?
I'm pretty sure most of you guys (like me) have tried multiple twitter clients for our Android phones.

Let's get some more comments and votes
I like twicca.

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
I use Seesmic..would be the perfect client if it had name auto-completion which they said is in the works.
Still think touiteur is way ahead in this debate .. Official is nice however i hate the UI ..
Still touiteur well ahead of the rest
Before I use Twidroid. Now Official Twitter app is the best.
I use touituer but would use the official Twitter app if it had a black color theme. The pure white drives me nuts, but I love how it functions and its tie in with the OS sync and contacts etc.

The official twitter client would be my favorite if the timeline didn't move to the top after refreshing. They also need a better widget to compose with, rather than one that shows a single tweet at a time from your timeline. I don't to a lot of posting (mostly just a reader), but I'm sure others would want that.
Twicca is still my favorite since it is super clean and works the way I expect a twitter client to work.
Touiteur is nice, but the UI is kind of messy.

Twicca for the functionality and clean ui
i use tweetcaster. I like the layout and the different themes. It would be handy if i could accept new requests instead of having to go to the twitter website.
Also, does anyone know of any twitter app that utilises the twitlonger system ?

I know that some of the ibore apps use this and it would sometimes be real useful.

[REQUEST] [APP] Looking for "TV Forecast" like app

I've been looking for a LONG time for an android app like this. Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find one.
This is a pic from the iphone app which basically shows when the next new show airs on only specific shows you enter in the app.. nothing else is there like on the TV guide app where you browse channel/time..
Thanks for all your help.
I'm looking for something smiliar... Would be awesome if someone could create an app that works a bit like http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/
Of course I could always load up the website, but would be better to have it as an app. If someone has the time and skills to do a proper app with a good UI I'd definately donate a beer or two.
tvguide.com has an app on the marketplace. There's also tvlisting from jersey productions.
I tried those apps and they arent really what I'm looking for, for anyone who has had an iphone and used "Tv forecast" you will know what I mean..
Instead of sifting through channels 1-900ish trying to find the right show you input it into the program and it comes back with the next NEW showing.. nothing more, no bloating of other random channels you dont care about.
I'm just looking for a similar android app, that would make my iphone -> n1 transition really complete!
the tvguide.com one allows you to put in favorites and it shows you the next showings.
Shoot an email to the dev of TV Forecast, maybe they'll port it.

try TV Show Favs from the market, there is a free ad supported version with 14day premium trial inside.

google reader . Which is the best

I have tried so many google reader apps. But could not find one thats really good
In iphone i have newsrack - Very good one and has nice preview of images with each icon.
Feedsquare is one with similar fns but sync is terrible
Any suggestions.
I like greader. It reminds me of the mobile site, and is very easy to navigate.
Did you tried Newsrob?
I used to use Newsrob, but now I've switched to using the Reader mobile site - it's great. No good for you if you need offline reading of course, but it gets my vote
I think they all SUCK. I don't have a lot in my list, perhaps 12 sources, half of them news, other tech stuff. And syncing in every Greader app I've found takes forever, often either downloading some X number of total articles and skipping ALL the rest (wtf??) or downloading thousands of articles. Hello, X number of new articles?
So I just read in the default browser, it works great, but obviously it's not offline... Don't try it in Opera, it renders horribly.
Using the Greader site, works ok.
But since I'm using Feedly (Firefox extension) on my laptop I'm really looking forward to their Android app that should be released shortly.
NewsRob works for me.

This i find very useful.

Shortcut to the mobile page for me.
gReader is the best in my opinion, tried most everything.
I don't like gReader, it's too damn iPhony. This is Android, no clue why the dev follows Apple's GUI guidelines here lol
Anyway, my vote goes to FeedR, slick and fast. Although if I haven't purchased it, then I would just use the mobile site.
Looking forward to an official app from Google.
Yup, another vote for the mobile site here.
The big problem for me with the Android apps is that they only do the feeds and not the shares from friends (e.g. shares from Google Buzz).
have u all try feedR? i think it's the best from all google reader apps i've tried

There is a good ui guidline for Android. There is one also for icons, widgets, and what not. Check out the Android Dev site. It doesn't have to be very detailed and covers everything, but it sure preserves the Android style and atmosphere which is NOTHING like gReader.

PUSH Notifications for Facebook Fix!

Yes! Finally we have Push notifications for Facebook AND Twitter After the new facebook update, you might have noticed you are forced to have your facebook sync every 5, 10, 30 etc. minutes? Yeah, drove me insane too. Well there is now a fix. This is not my software. But it WORKS! and thats all that matters right? Make sure you check the "Unknown Sources" tab in Settings -> Application BEFORE you download to allow you to install this app. Browse this link below on your andorid device, download the small .APK, and install. Simple as that. Let me know if it works for you! Also, follow me on twitter @rosenbachera

Ermmmm .... I'm surprised if it's true that TweetCaster makes use of PUSH. Will give it a try.
edit:
If I untick "Auto-Refresh", my Notification tab is ungrey. Means it will not even notifiy me at all. But if I tick Auto-Refresh, it ask me for a timing to refresh.
So isn't that still pulling?
Any news from the dev?
