I was on the phone with at&t, they sent me an mms but I was unable to download the picture until after the call. Is there a way to keep 3G service while on a call? Maybe to browse the web while talking.

I have a friend in Arizona with an iPhone 3G on AT&T's network. I have a Nexus S on T-Mobile in Oregon. When he sends me texts, I receive them normally. When I send texts to him, though, they never go through. Does anyone have insight to share on this problem, or a potential solution?
Second try.
Which cellphone number are you trying to call? Did you verify if it is the same as the message sender?

It's all in the same conversation thread, and I only have the one number for him; I don't know where else it could be going.
Im curious as to how reliable wifi calling is. Lets say that I have an interruption or lose the signal. Will it switch to my mobile data connection automatically or would I get a dropped call?
Thanks

My phone isn't able to send any SMS messages. I can make calls and use data but texts "send" but never get to anyone. I also don't receive texts as well. My Google voice account also won't load any texts after I login, the inbox is just blank.

Bump, this is really becoming an issue, I have no idea what I need to do to fix it. I tried rolling back to an older recovery but it still persists with this. :\
Try reentering SMSC in *#*#4636#*#*.

Look up my thread SMS Messages received but not sent FIX. I cover the SMS issues there with detailed instructions on how to fix it.

Turns out it was Google voice. My number was in limbo apparently. Sprint actually fixed it pretty quick today.

Is there any app that you can call over 4g or wifi so it doesn't use plan minutes cause we only have 750 a month and my parents weren't happy with me cause I used like 350 of them talking to my girlfriend. Thanks in advance

If you add wifi calling to you plan you can uses the wifi app that comes with the stock roms and it will not use plan minutes. You have to make sure it is added our it will use plan minutes.

I've thought about that but I'm not gonna want to pay anything extra. That's why I'm looking for an app

Instead of messing with all those settings you might want to look into an app called 'auto ap', it is in the market. What it does is when your phone connects to wifi it will automatically put it in airplane mode & start groove ip. That way groove ip won't fight with the native phone app to answer incoming calls. Works great & makes it easier for you to keep track of your mobile minutes.
Just downloaded grooVe can't wait to try it out

I just switched over from att to sprint and got a sprint sim card activated for the phone, I can use lte data text and receive calls, but every time I try and make calls it disconnects and starts searching for network.
Anybody know how to fix this?

Did you check your APNs?
It doesn't give that option in the settings

Try changing the preferred network type.
Yeah I've tried that, it's weird because the data will work perfect fast 4g, and I can get calls send texts etc.
But the moment I try calling it disconnects and starts searching for service

Dial*#*#4636#*#*. Then make sure under phone is set to LTE/CDMA auto prl.
It was at to LTE cdma

I'm assuming that you have tried the prl and profile updates. In the test mode (4636) switch to lte/gsm/cdma and then back to lte/cdma. Choose global instead of lte for the preferred network type.
Which radio? It might be a CSFB issue. You might try the .17.

I tried switching to GSM and then back to cdma didn't work, I have update the prl and didn't Work
Any other suggestions?
