ADW + SMSUnread = Problems - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Anyone else have this problem.
Just switched to ADW Launcher.
Always used SMSUnread for my icons and it's always worked fine.
Now with ADW Launcher, the icon will show the number of unread messages/calls/email when I first create the icon but that is it. Any new messages or reading a message doesn't increase/decrese the number. It's like the widget isn't refreshing.
Only happens on ADW. I also noticed my Weather/Clock/Last Call widgets weren't updating. They seem to be fine since I disabled "Use Screen Cache"
Anyone? It's enough to send me away from ADW.

u got killed them in task manager?

i have used ADW and SMSunread and have never had an issue.
P.S. lunarken - im glad you like my x10 image

i already had that issue, but after while, i installed rom 26 and i haven't tried adw again.
i don't think the problem is in task manager, because adw doesn't appears in the task manager, and adw works fine, only the widgets does not

In my experience adw can be twitchy when it comes to widgets. I get random and irritating failures of various widgets.

adw launcher not centered

The first thing I installed when I got this phone was adw launcher (with home switcher).
One thing has been bugging me since doing so - all the home screens are shifted to the right. Some widgets are even being slightly cut off at the right like beautiful widgets home.
Anybody else with adw having this issue?

Same here, but the problem comes and goes. No idea how or why. Using adw and beautiful widget.
me too, that is my only real gripe- takes a swipe or rotation to correct. If i can fix this i won't root- bloatware or not this phone is awesome.
Only other thing I want to do is switch to a Gill Sans Light font, then this phone will be perfect.

ADW Widget Problems with 2.2.2 Moray

Also posted this over at Xoom Forums. Problem with ADW-EX and widgets
I have a wi-fi only Xoom that I just rooted, and to which I installed the Moray 2.2.2 ROM. I did not have any issues with the installation and flash, but I'm running the ADW-EX launcher and keep having problems with widgets not loading properly (the dreaded 'Problem Loading Widget' gray box). In fact, in setting up Hubs on my Xoom, I can go from one screen to another, and when I flip back to the first screen, widgets that were just working are now not loading properly. This includes some Minimalistic Text widgets as well as Pure Calendar, Music, Mizuu, Gmail, and others. It's very annoying to have to keep regenerating these widgets every few minutes. I have not tried restarting ADW each time to see if this fixes the issue. Backup and restore of the ADW settings does not. Has anyone else had trouble with widgets and ADW after installing this ROM?

What Launcher is everybody using?

I'm looking at getting either GoLauncher or Launcher Pro (but Ive seen alot of complaints about not alot of updates for this one). I want one that light, fast, customizable and functions well on this phone any suggestions?
Ive been using Launcher Pro and have had zero problems, easily customizable with some good themes. Have seen good reviews on both of them. Try both of them out yourself and see which one works best for you
Cool thanx should I download a program to manage them like HomeSwitcher or something?
Oh yeah and one other question is Launcher Pro premium worth the price or just the free is good enough?
To me premium is def worth the price. It gives you the option to be able to resize the widgets plus a few more option that you cant get with the free version.
Homeswitcher is def good in case you have a couple of launchers installed or just in case you want to go back to the stock home launcher.
been using adw ex
Every Android phone I have owned has had Go Launcher on it. Not sure why but its never gave me a single problem.
After researching it and taking opinions I went with Go Launcher. Thought I had a problem with it, but it turned out to be ME changing too many options up front. Who would have thought that?
I use Launcher Pro Plus (worthy investment)...I have tried Go Launcher and ADW EX, and both are good but Launcher pro seemed smoother to me. Also, since I already paid for LPP a while back I didn't want to not use it even though it wasn't that expensive.
I have installed:
ADWLauncher EX
Balancer
Launcher Pro(free one)
I use Launcher Pro the most. I had GO Launcher EX and Zeam, but uninstalled those. Launcher Pro is what I use the most. I have not played fully with ADW or Balancer. I do feel I like some of the features of Balancer (built in file manager, transparency when in app drawer).
I say download them all, play with them and use what you like.
Go Launcher EX w/ Honeycomb theme (modified w/ICS icons)

Launcher Pro here. It has worked very well for me and I like customizable and scrollable dock.
I went with GoLanucher EX for now and I love it very smooth and has a theme for every piece of it I Have the GoContacts and GoSMS and both work great Ill try it out for a week or two and see how it goes thanks for all the feedback
I've been using Launcher Pro since I had my original Atrix. Never have any problems. I tried all the rest and like this one the most.
Go Launcher EX, the amount of customization is crazy! Very smooth too.

sweeter home 2
Used them all..... now i'm back on Moto Blurr.
I'm currently using adw launcher because i saw a battery drain while using go launcher ex. Probably its just me and not go launcher BUT adw launcher is giving me more battery life and very simple configurations.

Thats a user error problem, not an app or launcher problem. Just do what svtmook said and you'll be fine

[Q] New 4.0 update - some bugs...

Hey all,
I have noticed ever since the new update that when I have go launcher ex running as my active launcher, at times the widgets on my home screen do not update.
Funny thing is, when I auto rotate the screen and then rotate it back to normal the widgets update. I actually have to do this to update them.
Anyone else have this issue with go launcher ex? I have contacted them but they do not reply so I figured to see if anyone in here has the same issue.
I am using the stock launcher right now. The problem does not appear to happen with the stock. Any good recommendation on a launcher to use momentarily that has no issues with the new 4.0?
I have also noticed that Go SMS has issues as well, it will at times not respond. Again with the stock launcher no issues with Go SMS.
It sounds like a bug in GoLauncherEx.
Try Nova Launcher (my favorite)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389071
Or Apex Launcher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452663
Bummer.... I like go launcher ex cause they don't make me pay for the premium app to categorize my app drawer apps in folders....
I've tried Go Launcher and the Nova and I like better the Nova to ICS

[Q] Ads on status bar, using go launcher ex

Hi,
I keep getting these ads on the go launcher ex every time i reboot my device. Anyone else get this? Can you get rid of it and how do you do that? Also, i would use Apex Launcher, but then my email doesn't work, and if i use nova launcher, my wifi doesn't work. with Go Launcher everything is working but these ads, its a start on top where the status bar is.
Launchers can't prevent Mail and WiFi to works...
(They can put ads but I never seen them with GoLauncher EX.)
Looks like you got something really bad somewhere...

Did you download any apps before any launchers? I used go launcher ex on my SG2, but never seen any ads.
download appbrain add detector, that will tell you what app is giving the advertisements
Thanks,
I noticed that it is the Go Widgets that actually give the ads on the status bar. I have changed from Go Launcher Ex to Nova Launcher and everything works fine, except the email, but got around that. Thank you for all the help.
I still don't get why the launchers are giving you trouble. I have used ton of them and never got anything like you have mentioned here.
